They apparently are one of those awful outfits who hire herds of desperate young people to go out canvassing for people to sign up to run a scam on. A very young man turned up at my door last night about 7:15. I explained he was interrupting a meeting I was in but I was interested in an estimate for gutters. I'm guessing the kid was not only exhausted (apparent) but famished. He couldn't get himself together. It took forever. And I was missing my meeting. Finally after much repetition and delay he says ‘I can't just do this for gutters'. So to move things along I say ‘ok then say windows too'. Then he wants to know why. I should
say my house is pretty new, built in 2008. Something he asked repeatedly and was told repeatedly. He really wanted to write roof. Finally after a lot of messing around and delay I think we are done. Then he says (with a bunch of long explanation) that now someone is going to call me for confirmation. I said I'm missing my meeting do it in the morning. More talk and insisting. Finally I say ok after 9. Someone called at 8:45. I silenced my phone. About 9:15 there's another knock on my door. It's the kid with a lit up cell phone saying I have to talk to this person and confirm. With irritation I took the phone. That whole experience was pretty lousy too. Guy talked right over me and also took forever. So. The appointment was for 3:00 this afternoon. No one showed up. An hour and 45 min later I called the number and got them to spell the name of the company and where they were. Then I told them to cancel the whole thing. I hung up and a couple minutes later the phone rings again with another of their numbers. I let it ring and he left a voice message wanting to reschedule. I texted back and reiterated they need to cancel all further attempts to contact me. I am in Spokane WA. They are in Hillsboro OR. No one from another state is going to work on my house (not even reasonable). I'm pretty sure they are abusing those young kids out knocking on doors at all hours. Then I read what a former employee had to say. This whole thing smells really bad. Some people are going to get hurt by these guys.
Not to mention: I was really stupid and took that kid's phone without thinking. There is a pandemic going on. What are they thinking!

Either you are a complaint board and are equipped and willing to take care of complaints or not. I am about ready to complain about you. This whole process is pretty narrow and demanding if you ask me.

Horrible Experience! Long story short, signed up for new James Hardie siding with promises of
Factory trained installers, 30 Year Warranty, very little maintenance and great financing options.
They came out and had new siding ripped down and most of house rapped on the first day. They were done
by the 4th day. Mail box and numbers wrong place. light fixture not center with gaps. cable wires going
zig -zaged and screwed in on front and back of house. Gaps at all the butt joints. small pieces on both
sides of house were they cut too short. Caulked and tried to hide MANY bad cuts. So much more but trying
to keep this short. Foreman sends me a picture of my front door and says How do you like your new siding
I and he was coming over next Monday(Labor Day) and I needed to sign completion papers. I told him I had
many issues and would not sign anything. Nothing back from him . Contacted my sales rep( the only person
I had ever talked to from Dabella at this point. After a few conversations and pictures he came over and took
Took his own pictures and agreed that there were some issues, nothing for a week. Now that I have had a
chance to look at it and look at James Hardie installation guide there are many things that void any Warranty.
I had contractor come over and look at it. He was expecting to see things I was just being picky about. Oh No
There is no clearance from concrete slap to siding, No flashing, blind nailed and nails through the front, gaps
so big at butt joints you can see the writing on the Tyvek, no flashing above slider door, Light fixtures and
electrical boxes not straight or center with gaps, caulking sloppy, measuring bad, cables not attached, crack
in siding next to hose spicket, Gap filled with caulk and a lot of nails where there should not be. The only way
to fix it is to rip it all off and start over.
Factory trained installers ? I think not! Warranty? NOPE. Water Resistant? A BIG NO
General Manager came to my house a week after install. He asked me to show him the issues I had at this time
I was not aware of the flashing issue. Everything I showed him he had an answer for. Said he would fix
the lights and electrical boxes, the gaps are within specks and need to be there for water to run through.
He said I needed to sign completion papers so he could get a work order to fix the things he was willing to fix.
he was very intimidating ( I am a single women living alone ). against my better judgment signed it. So now bank
Bank wants payment. To Top this all off 15 days after installed I find a water leak inside bathroom wall
and siding. Called GM John to get his @#$ out here. He called back and said I needed to get a plumber
out to fix it. It was Friday night after 8pm. To make sure I take pictures and document all of the plumbers
work. I have not received a work order yet but he wants all of this from me so I can get paid back, Yes I had
to pay for emergency call to plumber. He shows up Monday morning with same contractor that messed up
my house, Oh ya it was a nail through the wall that punctured the pipe. They go in and look and tell me that
they will patch the green board and replace the shower panel and would I like to paint it or have them do it.
I asked for some plastic sheeting so I could shower. I am pretty PISSED OFF by now and asked them to leave
my house. Went home for lunch that day and found plastic taped shut over hole that had a water leak for 15
day. How in the world can people be so DUMB. GM has been calling me everyday leaving messages that he
is touching base and wants to know when he can come back an resolve the issues. I did a work order not signed
or dated in my mail box to fix the flashing over Sliding door and light fixtures. Also found out that NO
Permits were pulled from the city. I am Completely SCREWED. I don't have $15, 000 dollars on top of the $24, 400 that
turned into 40, 000 after financing to take them to court. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I DELT WITH SUCH CROOKED
PEOPLE! MY life is now upside down with a huge loan, a hole in my bathroom wall and the Worst siding installation
ever seen.

We found out that Debella DOES NOT follow through. Nor does the company show any interest in Customer Service. In calling the Spokane office the phone would ring and ring. After calling for three weeks to see if and when DaBella would start, no one answered the phone. After calling them twice in one day, we called the 1-800 number to DaBella Main Office only to be transferred back to Spokane. This time they answered the phone. Well, the receptionist couldn't give us any information, since she couldn't find our information in the computer, but she would have the project manager call us right back. No callback.
After signing the contract, the salesman said it three-weeks they would call to schedule for a crew come out to install the new roof. Put in serval calls to the salesman to see what was going on. Either he was in an area where he couldn't get reception for his phone or he was out of town. The best one was my phone didn't recognize you as a customer. Once Brandon stated he called and the phone rang 20-30 times-the answering machine picks up after the fourth ring.
Six-weeks later we called DaBella after 15-min we only to be told that there was a delay in getting the shingles in, so it would be a little extra time to get the material in from Portland.
Out of the blue on week 8 a crew showed up to strip the roof, they backed a refuse trailer up against the garage, not allowing us access to the garage and left one person to strip the roof. We were told "before any DaBella contractor leaves the work site at the end of the day, everything is picked up." At the day, the contractor said he was leaving. Asked about cleaning up the yard of shingles and other garbage, "Oh we'll be back in the morning to clean everything up and get the trash trailer out of here." When asked at what time, there was no response, except tomorrow. They never showed back up, all weekend the trailer sat in the driveway and we cleaned up the debris and other garbage left behind by the roofers. Called DaBella again via the main office and the project manager stated that she had no idea what was going on.
After a week of a bare roof, the material arrived. When asked ho long did this take to get in from Portland. The driver looked at me and said, the material been sitting in their yard all the project manager or contractor should have asked for it to be delivered weeks ago.
Each time we reached out to DaBella there was no response. They told me recently this is how the Roofing Game is played.
When the contractor finally showed up to put the roof down, one person was sent. Again, at the end of the day, "I'll be back in the morning to clean-up. "When asked about a time there was no response. Guess there's no such thing as a time commitment with DaBella. The contractor nor DaBella came back to clean up the debris, so it was up to us to clean up after DaBella. Famous last words "We will clean up our trash, we will sweep your yard with a magnet." NOT ONCE did DaBella do that.
Each time we called DaBella there was no response. For five-weeks shingles and other trash was piled in your yard, in hopes that DaBella would be out to clean-up.
Once the roof was completed an inspector would be out to inspect the roof-no show.
A week after the Roof was completed, new gutters were to have been installed. Three weeks later the new gutters went up and again the installer did not clean up his mess.
Each time this is brought up to the salesman an the General Manager, we got told "well this is the first of me hearing of this." No wonder they don't answer the phones-another customer is left waiting for DaBella to show up.
The General Manager did tell me that he has five project managers working on projects. Gee assigned a task to one project manager and let them work on it then you wouldn't have a goat-rope operation.
The salesman called and stated "This is how the Roofing Game is played."
For cleaning up their trash, the General Manager offered to give my mom $1, 000 and the check would be in the mail that Friday. Calls have gone unanswered. Went to their office in Liberty Lake and on Hatchinson today and they are no longer there, and their phones are no longer in use.

I am updating this as things do not happen.
I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER.

Looking at other reviews they only respond to good reviews.
Trying to communicate with these people is fruitless. They will answer your calls until there is a problem. When you do talk to someone it goes in one ear and out the other. I have had supplies in my RV parking for a month now. I am paying to store my trailer elsewhere. No communication no callbacks no emails nothing. I need to decide what I am going to do. I suppose I can have someone else install the stuff in my driveway.

UPDATE #1
Asked to cancel contract and get reimbursed for trailer storage. I was told again that people would be here yesterday and no communication and no people. Called Cassie and let it ring and ring no voice mail. Called the salesman and got voice mail. Called the main number and all they would do is send an email. Called customer service and Danielle would not give me a phone number to talk to someone else at the SLC/Draper office she wanted to email or transfer me to Kathy's phone that I had already called twice. It appears to me that they do not want to talk to people. I am getting a no soliciting sign for my house. I was fooled once by an Insurance salesman that lied and cost me money that was doing door to door. Now I was fooled again by a siding salesman that came door to door.
Shame on me.

I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER.

Update #2
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I called the customer service line and got to the HR department. I talked to Ryan Kostin he said he would have someone contact me. If I was holding my breath I could have told him to ask for Mr. Blue.
Once again lack of communication seems to be systemic when there is a problem.

Update #3 27jun21
I finally had some contact with Dabella in SLC. They said they will let me out of the contract if I take down this post It had been about a week without any communication. I got a text from from the salesman Ty Lopez asking if I had been contacted by anyone. I texted him back no. I am not sure why this company cannot communicate. Lots of finger pointing when I do hear from someone. It is blamed on the office person Cassie. Anyway the saga goes on and on and on.

I just had two salesman waste an hour of my evening by trying their hearts out to sell me windows. They didn't have actual samples -- just a cross section of a window. They acted like they were measuring my windows but weren't really writing anything down. They didn't know if the replacement windows were single or double hung. They didn't know what the screens were like. They didn't even know that my old windows were single pane aluminum. It was bizarre. Neither of them had obviously ever installed a window before. They couldn't understand that I wasn't interested in financing even though I said I want the cash price several times. They also kept doing that thing where they could only guarantee the price if I committed that day and gave them a 25% down payment. They also did the thing where they called their manager and got him to knock a couple of grand off the price if I committed today and agreed to a flexible install date and agreed to put an advertisement in my front yard. Then, they acted angry when I told them they had to leave, and I would call them if I decided to go through them. The whole experience was extremely off putting. I will never invite anyone from this company into my home again.

We've had two contacts with DaBella, one to replace windows where we contacted them, and another --unsolicited contact-- to give us an estimate on roof repair/replacement. Both times we were subjected to extreme high-pressure sales tactics. They start out friendly enough, schmoozing you, but as soon as you show the least bit of resistance to "signing on the dotted line" that very day--giving them a BIG deposit, the aggressive tactics are rolled out. The unsolicited roof contact -- our home is only 15 years old and the roof is in pretty good shape, was obscene in its aggressiveness, and deceitful. They attempted to convince us to replace the roof in its entirety for $60K. We resisted --had to push back really hard to finally get these two sales guys to leave our home. We never did do business with them, not for the windows and certainly not for a roof. And we never will. Sure, there are some good reviews, but 1 in 10 is not a good percentage. Good companies don't need to use those kind of tactics. Renewal by Anderson --windows-- they came in, gave us a great presentation, an estimate on cost, info on financing and said all of that was good for one year! No pressure to sign that day. That's a good company. We went with them for our windows.

Avoid DaBella. Don't let them in your home unless you want to waste hours of your precious time.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They installed one of our bathrooms with no problem but our other bathroom didn't work out so well. The jetted tub was supposed to be at their Wearhouse but was lost in transition. We are still waiting for a report on when the tub will be installed. Terrible communication from everyone involved. Except the installer who did a great job on our first bathroom. I wish we got another bid.

The unsolicited roof contact -- our home is only 15 years old and the roof is in pretty good shape, was not just the estimate on roof repair that we were told we would get. Instead, it was a hours-long presentation, with computer-slide show, talking ad naseum about how great the company is. All these stupid statistics that you couldn't care less about. On and on and on.

After sitting through this unnecessary presentation, the high-pressure sales pitch began. They attempted to convince us to replace the roof in its entirety for $60K. The roof is less than 15 years old. We are aware of one problem, one problem only, which can be isolated and easily fixed. But OH NO--we needed a whole new roof. It went on and on. I kept telling the main hard-sell pusher, Tanner, that I wanted some time alone with my husband to discuss all of this. He kept insisting he could answer any and all questions I might have.

We kept resisting -- and the deal kept changing, less money, but no commitment as to when they might get around to replacing the roof. We didn't want to replace the roof! We finally had to push back really hard to get these two sales guys to leave our home. First on the premise that it was just for a lunch break. They were back within a half hour. This time my husband met them outside the home. They still persisted, and he kept resisting. They finally gave up and left.

The experience with the window sales guy was pretty much the same thing, high-pressure, didn't want to leave until we signed on the dotted line. Kept calling his 'boss' to get a better deal for us, etc., etc. Like Tanner and his associate, he finally had no choice but to leave.

Do these hard-sell tactics actually work on people? They must. Not for us, though.

We never did do business with DaBella, not for the windows and certainly not for a roof. And we never will. Sure, there are some good reviews, but the overall percentage of good versus bad reviews is not good. Good companies don't need to use those kind of tactics. Renewal by Anderson --windows-- they came in, gave us a great presentation, an estimate on cost, info on financing and said all of that was good for one year! No pressure to sign that day. That's a good company. We went with them for our windows. We'll use a reputable roofer to fix the small area of our roof.

Avoid DaBella. Don't let them in your home unless you want to waste hours of your precious time. And possibly walk away with your hard-earned money.

I’ve just been reading through these reviews and feeling like I might have dodged a bullet. The exact same experience w/two high pressure salesmen. Younger and schmoozy too, but I was adamant and told them from the get-go that I wouldn’t be signing any contract today. A Saturday on holiday weekend. I would get bid comparisons before I move forward with any job. Anyhow, I had another engagement and told them they needed to get going.

This was for the end of my house siding, and then it turns out they do roofs too so want to come back and inspect it too for a “better deal” (price on both).

The more I thought about our interaction, and one of the young men used my bathroom at the end of the hall, the more I’m starting to feel uncomfortable and worried that they would scam by actual theft of numbers? Or items? Identify theft, etc. unbeknownst to an individual? Is this something of which I should be concerned?

Or, is the “scam” based solely by way of getting your information for purchase or a contract?

They offered me the “special” discount if I agree to the work being done later too in some “flexible install” and now that I’m liking back at the paperwork they left, I see they would want to put a sign in my yard too. I don’t know how that one got by me.

I got a little freaked out thinking back at one point one of the gentleman needed me to put my Wi-Fi passcode in so he could connect. He was complaining that he couldn’t get a hold of his manager because he doesn’t have cell phone service but it worked out by his car a little bit earlier. I am in a rural town and service can be dodgy. But in order to show me some things on the Internet he connected to my Wi-Fi. I feel so foolish.

I recently lost my fiancé and have been learning as I go. This kind of situation would likely never have happened if he were still here. Can anyone tell me if I should turn this situation in? Or be concerned? Or, as long as I didn’t sign anything I am fine? I don’t plan on letting them come back and check out my roof now.

And I have a bunch of photos off my home Surveillance.

Later I noticed they drove up in separate cars when I was reviewing my cameras. Some sporty looking Audi’s that matched - one silver and one white, itt appears.

A little later, I was pulling out of my new little community (leading the lawn mower repair man to my mower at a different location). That white car was sitting at the stop sign not moving just sitting when I came up behind it (there is only one way out of our development), the car with dark tinted windows (after realizing I was behind them) pulled across the intersection and to another driveway across the street onto the side.

When the reps left, they said they had an appointment in a nearby town. I don’t know if he was just looking at the GPS or exactly what was going on, but it’s just an afterthought in retrospect now that I see what vehicles they were driving it was that vehicle that I came up upon. They had left my home at least 10 minutes prior so why he was still in the area is a little baffling?

Yeah... you dodged a bullet. That's an interesting thought, though, about them gathering personal information about you, for identity theft purposes. I hadn't thought of that. I'm trying to think back to my two encounters with their schmoozy sales guys; I don't think we gave them detailed information, just general. No numbers of accounts, etc. They were able to connect their laptop to the internet without using my log-in. If they had asked to use my internet, I would have logged them in without giving it to them, and I have a 'guest" log-in, too, which is limited in what they could do. And see.

The more I read about them here and elsewhere on complaint boards, the more I realize they are nothing but a scam outfit. I'm surprised there are ANY good reviews about them. I think we should be suspect of those good reviews -- the few that there are. They are likely phony, placed by Dabella operatives.

I don't think you have to worry about identity theft from them but I do suggest you look into safeguarding against that. Talk to people who understand how to protect your online presence, and be sure you have good security software on your devices. Most banks or mortgage loan companies have forms that you can fill out that will protect you from Title Theft -- where they assume your identity and gain access to the title of your home, and then sell it out from under you. This has happened a LOT. You can also contact the three credit bureaus and have a hold put on any new loans under your SS#. That's really a great way of protecting your interests, especially if you don't plan on acquiring any new loans, credit cards, etc.

And, of course, when you do need to do that, you can just reverse the holds.

Thanks for your reporting on this.

But I think these Dabella guys are just looking to sign people up for lousy home improvement work.

Sales Rep. Mathew Dooley, came to our home 4 times. We needed windows but did not intend to purchase them at this time. He convinced us the price was half the cost of Anderson Windows, and the payments would be low. all he needed was a down payment of $1000.00, and payments wouldn't start until install. But, we needed one more measurement. It's been 3 weeks and when we call to find out anything, Elsa, coordinating Mgr. (?) lets us know it's an inconvenience. We are senior citizens. and this is NO way to treat anyone. We've asked for our money back, and to cancel the second measurement, and go with Anderson as we had intended. Now it seems they have given us a complete "cold shoulder". all that's left is BBB.

SCAM...DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT UNTIL YOU GET OTHER QUOTES AND READ IT ALL!

If no stars were an option, I would choose that. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR MONEY, GET OTHER QUOTES! It cost me $24k for an $11k job. They measured my house and my garage but said they didn't include my garage in the $24K bid, so they were not going to do it. Who the eff would roof their house but not the other structures on the property...as to match?! They didn't cover anything in my garage (I have pictures of the mess they made and the blisters on my back from being in the sun all day cleaning it) I was pretty much told that we were even because they spent extra on my garage that was not in the bid. They did not clean the yard of debris and nails (stepped on a nail, it went through my shoe) I tried to cancel before anything got started but they said they would charge me 50% still and do nothing..."It's in the contract" I had a fire, so my house it being put back together...I am having a skylight installed and they need the extra roofing from my roof job...per the contract I am told, I pay for the material, but they keep any extra material (except for plywood) This will now be my life's goal, to make sure NO ONE gets RIPPED off and SCAMMED by DeBella. (AND NOW WE WAIT FOR THEIR B$LL [censored] REPLY!)

(if I am able to log back in, I will upload pictures as I have them downloaded on my home PC)

Very sad, I tried to cancel my order before the windows were delivered...disabled woman 67 taken advantage of. 4 more years of payments in a house I don't own or live in. The rep said I could cancel order but when I tried DaVella refused to stop my order. Probably cause the company "farms out" all aspects of this so called company. Don't get taken! Like poor old me.

I wanted a quote for my homeowners insurance. He resisted this with every fiber of his being. Told m he could do the roof for $29,000 but would not put it in writing for my homeowners insurance. Wanted me to sign no matter how much I said NO. Finally told him he was pissing me off & it was time to leave

I’m reading through DaBella’s reviews. We did not sign a contract, we just wanted a bid, not a sales pitch.

But EVERYTHING I’m reading sounds just like our experience with them. Including them arriving in two cars (even one of them silver). And how they meandered around for about an hour in front of our house afterwards.

For a company that apparently did all kinds of home improvements like windows, siding, roofing. I was surprised that after their 2 hour presentation, they said suddenly said they couldn’t do the job.

This was right after I mentioned, just in conversation, that my nephew owned a law firm and was currently arguing a case before the US Supreme Court. And that I did have to take a major general contractor to the State Licensing Board and won.

Regardless if that was the reason they chose not to do the work or not. It does raise doubts about their intentions.
