Dashlane experienceed technical glitches over the holidays and it became difficult to login (especially around Christmas, 2024). I later found out from Dashlane they had to do updates and a lot of people were experiencing problems/were locked out their accounts.
Due to these issues, I lost access to my premium, family account.
In my case, I was told nothing can be done for me and I need to reset my account (and lose years of data which only exists on Dashlane). (All of the data for EVERY work, school, medical, personal, household, business account for everyone in the family). Gone.
Desired outcome: Please downgrade account to a non-paid account but please keep account open, so maybe this can be fixed in the future. Please send me a password reset link, so I can export I data.

Well, as promised, today starts the beginning of my campaign to write daily public service announcements on every forum I can find about "Crashlane"'s terrible service so I can educate and warn others to STAY AWAY!
Do your research, as I wish I had done (look at the BBB complaints and their rating and reviews on BBB going back 20 years). Find a reputable, honest, reliable password manager!
Dashlane will overcharge you, be nearly impossible to reach (and only by email if you can get them to respond at all), and when their system glitches out and you are unable to login they will tell you "sorry, there is nothing we can do, but the good news is you can reset your account so you get to keep using our service!" (they seriously said this to me, as if I would keep using their service after spending hundreds of dollars on premium service and years of moving all of my personal data to their service, with my only option now being a "reset" and wiping EVERYTHING!) THATS THE GOOD NEWS.
Here is my tip: (the real good news) STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM this company! Learn from my mistakes! (Others have been experiencing similar issues recently).
Preferred outcome: it would honestly be great if Dashlane sent me a password reset, so I can access and export my data...and/or convert me to a free service until they fix their issues.
I will NEVER be a paid user of their unreliable service again and based on their lacking customer service I don't expect anything from them. So, it's my mission now to provide awareness to others...and I will spread the word fat and wide, on every forum possible! ***Avoid Dashlane***
This handling is absolutely not acceptable. Dashlane’s failure, due to the collapse of its system, costs you important data and their answer demonstrates no accountability. This should be escalated to their senior customer service team or sent straight to the Office of the CEO itself. Whereby a request for data recovery and payment for breach of contract must be made if they don’t offer that on their own. If it happens this way, then don’t keep your experience within yourself, circulate it universally through all the channels available and change over to a more dependable option. Don’t allow them get away with several years’ worth of lost data, any longer than that.
