I have reserved a Siamese kitten as promised in our agreement, red point male. After, making the deposit she guaranteed me with the above mentioned cat and then all of the sudden the parent of the kitten died so she has to keep it? That's considered false advertisement. Furthermore, she demanded to pay the remaining balance for neutering, yet the kitten will be for breeding purposes? Nonsense. I have had told her that I am not interested in any business with her or any kitten, since all the kittens have diseases, and eventually they die due to chronic issues. You will spend hundred of thousand dollars, yet to find out, that you will loose your beloved cat eventually. She is a total liar, scam artist, ener will deliver the kitten you picked, rather will offer the run of the litter, someone who was in and out of the hospital since birth. She will lie and backstab..the most dishonest person I have ever dealt with, yet I resided in NYC for 15 years, that's something to say. Please DO NOT conduct business with her, she will keep your money, beg you for more with no live kitten to be delivered any time in your life. Rather trying to sell you the most ill one from the litter. Shame, shame, shame .. On top of that her emails will be nasty and clearly stating that she will never give you the money back
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
IN MY DEFENCE... Yes, I only replace kittens, I do not give refunds! I am on a fixed limited income and do not have the ablity to refund on demand. Buyers sign an agreement that states in bold..NO REFUNDS.
This complaint was posted by Silvia Varga the same person who purchased two healthy kittens from me in 2002. For this sale I went out of my way to cancel an expensive animal courier sale and saved her alot of money. She since approached me on several occasions for a purchase of another kitten recently. She sent a deposit, signed my buyers contract which includes the terms replacement only. In Dec 2012, I had to inform her that the kitten she had a deposit on was not available due to health reasons and thus I offered her a replacement but she has refused. Immediately emails turned nasty. She threatened that she would find me because she had a "surprise for me" which prompted me to file a report with the police. One of her statements in her emails is in her words
"I am shaking like a leave. You should be careful. Have everything documented. Scan artist! See you soon in person. The truth will prevail. I am not the thief you are. So you watch your attitudes with me. I am still being nice"
She proceeded to send me to a collection agency as well. My offer for a replacement kitten still stands. This complainent is Silvia Varga. She forgot to mention that this purchase she approached me for was for a 3rd kitten. She purchased 2 healthy Siamese male kittens from me about 8yrs ago. At that time she had arranged transport with an expensive animal courier which I promptly cancelled and found her a much cheaper alternative to deliver her kittens from me. Thus saved her several hundred dollars.
In the fall of 2012 she contacted me again as she had done a few times in the recent past asking for another kitten.
I recieve a deposit from her in Oct 2012 for a little Red point male kitten
In the beginning of December the little boy would have been ready to go so I requested full payment for him before he was altered. She now accuses me of begging for more money when in fact I had requested that she pay the balance of the purchase price. On December 25th the sire of the kitten succumed to pnuemonia, so because of my concern and as a precaution, I told her that she couldn't have the kitten that I had another one in place of him. As a conciensious breeder, I did not want to send her a kitten that might end up with health issues. Twice I have offered her a replacement kitten and she has declined. Her reply was..."you are a simple con artist who is begging US buyers for the money shame, shame shame. I hope all your stupid cats die. I want no business form you and your fast ### low quality cats."
She has immediately responded with nasty horrible emails that included threats...here is one example in her words "I am shaking like a leave. You should be careful. Have everything documented. Scan artist! See you soon in person. The truth will prevail. I am not the thief you are. So you watch your attitudes with me. I am still being nice" This threat was recorded in a police report.
I have been breeding for nearly 20yrs and can provide a long list of referances to show that I have acted in good faith with my kitten buyers.
This is very sad but this breeder works with Dee Johnson and Connie Roberts who are ALSO scam breeders They are of San toi cattery and they ALL have inbred kittens they are liers they dont care about the HEALTH of the kittens and the call themselves the Best LOL! yes if you want a kitten inbred sick and Bad bad temperments then theese are your breeders They are NOT HELPING THIS BREED THEY ARE KILLING IT AND ruining this breed I cant wait until they stop! Before the kill and infect this siamese breed
This is not my experience with this breeder. The contract was clear - no refunds. If she could not supply the cat for some reason you got to choose a replacement. She kept the cat I ordered for an extra 6 months for me because of our entry requirements here. When he arrived here he was in stunning condition and has remained healthy. There is no inbreeding in his pedigree. He is best entire adult Oriental in New Zealand (2014).
I challenge this poster, "kitty levy" to show the pedigrees to prove Debbie's cats are inbred. It is people like her that are ruining the breed by causing good breeders to close shop, with their attitude. She does not conceive of the amount of effort and care that goes into the caring for and breeding of these beautiful cats.

To Kitty levy - Please learn to use punctuation. It's very hard to take you seriously when you write posts in that fashion. All OSH/Siamese have issues. If anyone tells you a pedigree is super clean, they are lying. We all work with what we have. Breath in and out.

This is a complaint against Debbie Modderman, a self-described hobby breeder and owner of Azorez Cattery, BC, Canada, who sells kittens over the Internet, principally to buyers in the United States.
For the record, and there is a record documenting my own personal experience, this woman is duplicitous, unethical and dishonest. She is also skilled in silencing her opposition with accusations, denials and self-righteous indignation.
The specifics of my narrative can be accessed online in the Complaint Activity Report filed with the Better Business Bureau of Mainland British Columbia, Canada, in May 2013 [Case #1258621].
A second complaint was filed with the Washington State Attorney General's Office, [Case #430954]. For those unfamiliar with the role of these two agencies, suffice it to say that they act as signatories for the purpose of safeguarding consumer protection laws. For most, they are a prelude to Small Claims Court.
Unfortunately, Ms. Modderman fully understands the limitations of these agencies as well as their inability to prosecute. She is also well versed in the intricacies of Small Claims Court, employing tactics of evasion, avoidance and detection by using a screen of a post office box to front her business without revealing the actual physical address of the cattery located in a mobile home trailer in an undisclosed location. (I have since come to learn this is a common practice for those who do not want to be found by creditors, process servers or disgruntled customers.) And finally, due to the stipulations of the Azorez Cattery contract, should you consider filing a legal claim, it is mandatory that it be done in British Columbia rendering it an ordeal of time, expense and logistics.
We all try to make our way as best we can through the unregulated lawlessness of the Internet and when Ms. Modderman contacted me regarding an ad I had placed online I thought her to be professional. I have dealt with breeders in the past, always successfully, and it was that trust that I brought to this encounter. I trusted that if a problem should arise, as it often does when dealing with the sale of animals, this individual would conduct herself with honor, integrity and ethics.
Instead, after a year and a half of repeated attempts to negotiate with her, arrange multiple payment plans for her, enlist the assistance of two consumer protection agencies to mediate with her, consult with a lawyer to initiate legal action against her, she has shut down all communication, returned mail with the addressee cited as “moved” or “unknown” and gone into hiding; indicative of traits normally associated with petty criminals or what someone else aptly labeled her as: a thief breeder. I would amend that simply to “thief” since this woman’s character and conduct is not befitting that of an honorable and respected breeder.
My complaint and the attendant commentary is based on factual documentation, meticulously chronicled medical reports and irrefutable evidence. I am neither mean spirited nor vengeful, but there are times when to remain silent is to perpetuate harm. And this is one of those times.
Like the previous complaint filed on this site in March from someone who purchased a kitten from Azorez who died within ten days, the kitten my family purchased died within seven days of delivery. Moreover, he was treated by two veterinarian facilities over the course of three days, including the highly respected Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services (ACCES) center of Seattle.
Per the breeder’s contract of no financial responsibility, my family absorbed the costs of the treatments, the testing, the critical care services, the euthanasia, and the cremation. The breeder did not pay for anything, nor did she make an offer to do so.
When the medical documents were initially faxed to Ms. Modderman, she was in complete agreement with the findings. Not surprisingly, when compensation came due, she suddenly reversed her earlier position.
There are simply too many instances of her erratic and deplorable behavior to detail, Including accusations of libel, bad faith, mendacity, etc.
From my own experience and that is the only gauge I can honestly and adequately lay claim to, Miss Modderman’s conduct has been egregious and reprehensible.
Financial loss: $1500.
Emotional loss (grief, anguish, agitation and contempt): Immeasurable.

Debbie fully explained everything to me from the start. She answered my millions of questions and was always very honest with me. My kitten arrived safely at the airport, clean, dry and well cared for. She is healthy and such a joy. The kitten did decide to stop eating after 3 days and Debbie worked with me to get her the correct diet. My kitty is very happy, healthy and loved! I would adopt from Debbie again without question.

I bought a kitten from Debbie this February. He was scared, after travelling by truck half way across the continent, but in good health, and even provided with a special little blanket to carry the scent of his past home, to make the transition easier for him. I had bought a kitten from another cattery a few months earlier, and she was ill, arrived ill from the other cattery, and very infectious. Despite all the trauma and everything he did not catch what she has. She is still on meds, but getting better, after Debbie told me what works to help her shake what the other breeder supplied. I will have nothing to do with the other breeder, nothing. But my kitten that I got from Debbie is healthy, loving, well mannered and beautiful. I would not hesitate to buy another, should I want another kitten. She has gone out of her way to be helpful, even when the matter had nothing to do with her kitten but someone else's carelessness. Even my vet is happy with the cat I bought from Debbie.
I bought my kitten from Debbie in January. I worked with her for several months. My kitten is very happy and very health. My vet is happy with the health of my kitten as well. I would never use another breeder again. I can not believe that someone would smear her this way.
I have purchased three kittens from Debbie Modderman. A boy and a girl we purchased approximately 5 years ago. They are in very, very good health and always have been. We also purchase a little boy kitten from her last October, 2014. He is also in perfect health and always has been.
Debbie is knowledgable and sent each kitten to us on Vancouver Island with a little blanket that smelled like home. The cats are superb in quality; I can't imagine a better quality pedigree than what Debbie provides.
We have been very please and if something untoward ever happens to our cats, we would be back in touch with Debbie to find our next furry friend. The cats dispositions are all lovely, gentle and intelligent. We couldn't ask for a better pet!
It stated in the contract that if something untoward did happen to the kitten, that she would replace him (not refund the money). I can imagine when dealing with "life", something can happen occasionally. I have utter confidence that Debbie would make the situation right through the provision of a wonderful new pet.
Her pets are true gems. Enjoy the addition of one of Debbie's pets to your home and you, like my daughter and myself, will not be disappointed.
I bought a kitten from Debbie a year ago. For as long as I have had her, she has been in super health. When she came to me, she didn't even have upset stomach, which is a very common stress symptom in kittens moving to a new home. And she had travelled a very long way by plane. She has also been very brave from day one. Purring and affectionate. So, my experience with Debbie has been great. She is a lovely person and has helped me a lot. My cat hurt her paw as kitten when she was playing. Debbie took her to the vet, who confirmed that nothing was broken and that she could travel to me in a few weeks time. I don't see how an "unscrupulous scam breeder" would have done that. In fact, she had to take my kitten to the vet many times, since she had to be vaccinated twice and have her documents signed for travelling. Doesn't sound like a person who doesn't care for cats' wellbeing or for the people she sells kittens to.
It also makes me sad to see people making claims about someone's cats being inbred without even bothering to prove it.
