I took a pair of motorcycle leather boots into Doc’s Repair.. address is 593 62nd St. Suite 110 in Marion, IA 52302. I dropped them off June 17, 2022 to have a boot strap sewn back down that I pull my boots up with, repaired. He had to make new straps which he told me he was going to do which were only maybe 1“ x 2“ or 3 inches at the most in length they were not done after three weeks and I called and he said no they weren’t done I called again after five weeks and he said no they were not done and then he told me if I wanted them in a hurry I should’ve told him when I dropped them off. When you drop off your items you have to pay in full before he will take them or work on them which I did. I told Doc I did not think five weeks would constitute having them back in a hurry so he told me do not call him again and he will call me when they’re done. I then waited two more weeks and I thought I am going in and I’m going to pick up my boots whether they’re done or not and when I went to his store there was a note on it that said he left for vacation for a whole month. He didn’t call me or tell me if my boots were done! They were not done and said he would be back September 6 which I went that day to pick up my boots. He just so happened to call me that morning and tell me however that they were done two weeks prior but was on vacation and he never let anybody know. When I went there I picked up my boots and saw they were filthy they had so much dust and dirt on them and there were about three little red paint splatters on them! I was so disgusted I took my boots and went home and was so angry at his ethics that I will never go back. My father was a shoe repairman so I know what your item should look like when you pick them up! They should be shined or polished and in good condition if not better than when you took them in! My boots were in excellent condition and clean and no red paint splatters on them! He offered no apology other than he was sorry it took so long and I’m thinking three months to fix one or two little straps on the back of my boot was just not acceptable. I brought my boots home and had to clean them up and scrape off the paint splatter! I will never go back to his business again. I think as a businessman, how he treated me and the length of time it took and how rude he was on the telephone telling me not to call him back and the time it took to repair a simple job that should’ve taken one or two days at the most is unacceptable. thank you for your time
Desired outcome: I picked up my boots and had to clean them and scrape 3 small paint splatters off one boot!!
