The townhouse from Hell: Steve Boge from Eagle Rock Construction leases townhomes at 3470 Hillcrest Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52002. He advertises them as brand new, energy efficient, high-quality, luxury townhomes. However, I am a tenant in one of these units and they are anything but energy efficient and luxurious. The appliances are bottom-of-the-line [almost] farthest from energy-efficient models you can buy. The townhome that I am [over] paying $1, 000 per month for has two huge cracks in the basement/foundation that are leaking water into my basement. He knew they were there before I moved into the unit, but he didn't disclose them to me until after I began to move into the unit. He conveniently had them hidden behind insulation so I couldn't have seen them even if I had been wise enough to think to look for them. Furthermore, the condition of the property is terrible; it is a construction zone with his construction equipment and debris all over the property. We are supposed to have garages, but you can't use the garages because he has them full of his appliances and building materials. Even if he didn't have the garages full of his own belongings, you wouldn't want to use them anyways because you have to walk through at least 20-feet of clay mud and/or ice (when it's frozen, it's ice and when it melts, it's thick disgusting clay mud) to get to your sidewalk/door. Yesterday, he left a garage door opener on my desk; when I pushed the button to see which door opened, it contained his appliances and construction supplies. When I called him, he didn't even apologize, he just told me that I had a bad attitude. Then, today, he left me a second garage door opener and when I opened the garage door, the garage floor was full of water and water was flowing out from under the garage door. Another piece of work landlord! If you are looking for a place to live in Dubuque, Iowa, please save yourself the aggravation and don't rent from Steve Boge and/or Eagle Rock Construction... After seeing how these places were built, I wouldn’t recommend using his construction company to build anything for you either.

Hey the same here:

I though I was going to be living a good life but turns out that the NEW MARKHAM GARDENS In STATEN ISLAND, NY
Is far from that.I signed a Lease no Dogs allow, Loud music, noises that were disturbing to neighbors and electricity sufficient no Hanging out .All there Is loud nosy neibors playing loud music direspecting people who lives below them with their kids jumping and running around.cigarrete smoking that you actually can smell in your home.so far I have all the above. And to say my WELCOME PACKAGE was never giving to me .not only that But the people with children were put on the Duplex on the top floor of the Disabled how stupid can they be and when you go to complaint you can't even speak to Halima Because she is always busy. They do not ENFORCE their LEASE they ONLY want the RENT money. They should start putting the people with kids on the first floor and put the disabled that can climb stairs on the Duplex.
And the lousy tenants playing and acting all getto out In the streets again that was the whole purpose of this ;Right, and Once again you make the same MISTAKE. and why are we paying so much electricity I though this was GREEN energy saver. HA

I'm amazed at the above complaint regarding Steve Boge of Eagle Rock Contruction. I am a current tenant at 3470 Hillcrest Road and have not encounted any problems with Eagle Rock Contrustion. By the complaint (dated 2010), this would have been when the townhomes were first under construction. Whenever you are renting a property which is under construction and you want to live in the building, you must not expect everything to be perfect (construction trucks coming and going, unfinished lawns or even roads) for the first 6 months or so. If one is expecting to move into a new building and not have these issues, they are only kidding themselves. I have lived at 3470 Hillcrest Road for a year and have never encounted these problems. Steve and his crew address any issue immediately. These townhomes ARE energy efficient, high quality and very nice. My friends from other areas (Cedar Falls, S. Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Minnesota, Dubuque) are amazed at the great quality of work that has been done in these townhomes. Actually, they have asked me why would anyone build such a high quality building and rent this out to people as many renters don't treat their rental property as if it were their own. Steve has always been very professional when responding to our requests. From the above complaint, it sounds like she is describing someone not affiliated with Eagle Rock Construction. I hope this person has found another place that meets her needs.

One cannot expect to move into a new building under construction without encountering some issues of inconvenience. I can understand the frustration of a leak in the basement wall; however, this could be caused by settling of ground around the foundation. Sorry this person had to encounter this experience. themselves. I have lived at 3470 Hillcrest Road for a year and not encountered any major problems. Steve and his crew address any issue immediately. These townhomes ARE energy efficient, high quality and very nice. I was amazed to find a rental property with such high quality, great location and privacy. Steve has always been very professional when responding to our requests as well as addresses it quickly. I have to agree with kernal in that I havnt encountered any problem with Steve or Eagle Rock Contstruction either. I too am a tenant and havn't had any issues. Most, if not all, of the issues listed by the complaintant are issues with any area that is being built/newly contructed. All of the issues lists have not been present for some time now. There is no machinery out there, and no dirt. All of the garages are cleared out, the landscaping is nice, and there is even a newly constructed trash area for the dumpster. All of these complaints are based on an area that was still under construction. This was no small project so some understanding is a must! The units are nice, the company/steve has always been friendly and quick to respond to our needs.
