East Coast TVs Weird company

It's something I can't recommend to anyone in the world. What they advertise is usually very misleading and if you misunderstand and want to clarify, be prepared to talk to rude managers. First, their ad promises big discounts, which is not completely true because they forget to mention you have to pay by check to get lower prices. And second, it's something wild, because you can't make payments with your credit card. Strange to encounter something like this in the 21st century.

East Coast TVs customer service

Everything they say is a lie. The tv came 2 weeks later than promised. And only because I continuously called. Their 'white glove' service meant FedEx outside the front door. The included wall bracket came after another 2 weeks and countless phone calls.

Costumer service besides being rude, will tell you any lie to get you off the phone. They offered one price then it didn't apply because 'I didn't pay cash'?

At the end they offered a $50 dollar rebate and 'It's in the mail' 2 months later. Called a few times, realize it's a scam. Do yourself a favor and don't buy from this 'company'.

East Coast TVs Annoying

I've ordered a TV from this company East Coast TVs. I made my order and paid for it and everything seemed fine. Right after I paid I received a phone call from one of East Coast TVs representatives which said that they had better offers. He said that I can pay extra $500 and buy a better TV. I refused and said that I ordered what I wanted and wasn't interested in buying something else.
Next day they called again with the same offer, I rejected it again. They called me like every day until I actually got angry and raised my voice. Only after that they finally stopped calling. These guys are so annoying, they just don't know when to stop.

East Coast TVs Refunds

I purchased a receiver from East Coast TV's on a Saturday and auditioned the receiver for two days. Not satisfied with the sound, I contacted East Coast TV's for a refund via their website. The next day I received an email from East Coast stating to give them a call. So I called the same day and was asked when the receiver was delivered. I told David it was delivered this past Saturday which falls within their guidelines for a refund within 5-business days. David stated rudely well that's not how it works. He said once it is opened they do not want to accept the return. David said he would speak to a Supervisor and call me back. That never happened. So I called him back, he then stated his Supervisor was in a meeting for the entire afternoon and he would call me back once the meeting concludes. Didn't happen. So I called back the next day, same scenario I will call you back. So to make a long story short, East Coast TV's takes an extended amount of time to deliver the merchandise, and they will not abide by their company policy for refunds. Believe it or not I had purchased a TV from them before with no issues, other than a long delivery time, but I will not be purchasing anything else from them period.

East Coast TVs I changed the model of the television and didn't get reply from the salesman

I have purchased Sony Television from East Coast TVs. I paid around $7, 000 and the shipping included in the price. But I got phone call from the salesman, who told me that my ordered model didn’t have USB. I said that I needed USB and he sent me a link, where was the similar model with USB. The price increased and I changed the order. But after that I haven’t heard from this salesman. What do I need to do now then?

East Coast TVs Lies, takes advantage of older people and fraudulently charges your card for more than what is billed!

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

My mom was wanting a new televisions and she especially wanted one of the new 4K models. She also wanted a Samsung. So, being the dutiful son I am, I researched the model and looked for the best price online. I searched Google Shopping and found the model and the varying prices the stores had. I saw East Coast TV's' price and it looked really good. They had good ratings, too!

So my mom ordered it. They even had a 2% back promotion! Nice! All as well and good...until the phone call.

The guy said that mom's card was declined. No big deal, it's happened inexplicably in the past. So, she says, I'll use another card. Great. While on the phone, the guy went to work on the upsell with her, and since she knows little about electronics, she bit it, hook like and sinker. He "upgraded" her to last year's model, added nearly sixty dollars in "insurance" and got "white glove" delivery out of her, even though that service does next to nothing.

Not knowing what happened, I had checked the account page on their website to see if things were kosher. I about gagged when I saw that $1500 television go to one just shy of $2000!

I instantly called mom and asked her what was up. She told me, and seeing it was last year's model, I told her to call customer service and cancel. No dice...they were closed.

Smelling a big rat, I told her to call her credit card company to see if they could stop payment. She did, and as if to add icing to the cake, they found that on top of the $2000 they charged, they added another $1000 on top of that! WTF? Needless to say, the person at the card company smelled that festering rat as well and since the charge was just pending, they stopped it from going any further. They also issued her a new number as added protection and assured her that they would get no money from her. Good deal.

So today I called them about it. I, in no uncertain terms, told them how I felt about them preying on a person who was mostly unaware about electronics and their shady and fraudulent addition of more money to the charge. The guy I got...to put it nicely...was a major not nice guy. I mean, think of a not nice guy you know and triple it. That is the kind of person I am talking about here. I told him to cancel the order. He said nope, it was already shipped. I said you might as well, because we will refuse delivery and they'll be just getting it back. He says big deal. I further told him they were getting no money because the payment was stopped. He then lied and said they already got the money, so it would be our loss. He also said we'd be on the hook for sending it back. I said good luck getting money from us. He told me they already have our card information. You're SOL, I told him, because that number is no longer valid. We'll see, he said.

I hung up on him as he began to mock me. Then...no joke...he called me another three times in very quick succession, me hanging up each time.

I then told my mom to call the company of the original card to make sure that no charges would show there, either. They assured her that none would happen and they put a flag on the business.

I have since contacted the shipping company to stop the shipment in it's tracks. I wouldn't want the worker to have to come out, just for us to refuse the item. We'll see how that goes.

***TL/DR - Company took advantage of a person, fraudulently charged 50% more than the purchase price, card companies called to make sure no charges went through and a call to customer service resulted in talking to a major not nice guy who insulted me every way from Sunday.

East Coast TVs Misleading sales, free shipping that is not free, and rude salesmen

Misleading sales, free shipping that is not free, and fast-talking high-pressured sales pitches: why I will never do business with East Coast TVs (ECTV) ever again.

When shopping for a Weber E-670 grill, ECTV offered the best price -- by several hundred dollars -- so I placed the item in my shopping cart, applied the 2% Super Bowl Savings coupon, checked out with my American Express card, and got a receipt confirming my purchase.

To my surprise, first thing the next morning, I get a call from a fast-talking, high pressured salesman.

First, he tells me that the coupon I used was valid only if I had paid with a money order or cashiers check and that this is clearly stated on their website. That is true -- IF you click on the fine print of the offer. Never mind the fact that the coupon was accepted when I paid with my American Express card at check-out. Oh, and it turns out that the 2% discount that expires at midnight (complete with count-down timer) seems to return each and every day. Consequently, the price of grill rises by $48.

Second, he tells me that I will have to pay insurance and that this, too, is clearly stated on the website. That is also true -- IF you click through several pages to find it, but the cost of the insurance (2%, in my case) is not revealed. Consequently, my free shipping is going to cost me $48.

Then comes the pitch.

The salesman tells me that I will get my grill sooner if I elect to pay for white-glove shipping for only $229. I refuse, saying that it is winter here in Oregon so the timing of the delivery does not matter.

Then, he warns me that white-glove shipping means my grill will be shipped by a better shipping company, and I must want to use a better shipping company, right? I refuse saying that if the item is damaged in transit, I will simply refuse it at delivery, and ECTVs will have to sort it out with the shipping company.

All of a sudden, the price of white-glove shipping drops to $99. I refuse again, at which point it drops to $33 or. Finally, because I am too exhausted to argue further, I agree.

Bottom line: the grill wound up costing me $129 more than my e-receipt stated it should. I did get the grill eventually, and I got what I ordered at a price that was still cheaper than I would have gotten from any other vendor. The white-glove delivery service saved me some work hauling the (heavy) grill around to the back of our house. But the misleading sales, the free shipping that was not free, and high-pressured sales pitch was not worth the savings. I will NEVER buy from ECTVs again.

East Coast TVs not honoring sale price

11/28 received order confirmation for my tv...$1862
12/4 emailed to confirm a signature is required at delivery...response was to contact shipping
12/7 I contacted them by phone in hopes it has not shipped yet.
- i was told they dont ship to my zip code(Phx metro)
- i had to pay $189 for freight with $50 insurance
- then after some back and forth it comes out that its now back ordered
"wont ship for at least a week"
- so i asked when they were going to contact me(this is nine days after my order confirmation) he said when they got it in stock
NEW TOTAL $2205 / $50 of this was for wall mount "that would work with a curved screen" he said the one it came with was cheap
- at this point i put a hold on the order; to verify some of what i was just told
- their shipping map clearly showed i was in their delivery area = free shipping
so requested customer support to call me...that was sunday and days end on tues. no response and my support tickets were all closed

East Coast TVs False Advertisement

These guys are definitely SHADY! As mentioned you place your order and soon enough you receive a phone call to upsell you on warranty and white glove shipping. The call starts with "Did you place a order for a TV?" "We don't deliver to your area you have to pay for white glove shipping" I decline, they say we have to email the shipping company then to see about other arrangements. No phone for days until I call them and now shipping is now 149. Which the guy on the phone says to me "Don't you have another $149 you can pay?" What's the point of free shipping only to charge customer more money for shipping. I did send a email to their customer service and got a response to speak with Tony the manager, again no help. They repeatedly say give me a few more days and in few more days no response. I believe there is no way this guys are getting you the TV unless you buy the extra warranty and white glove shipping. After all this they use a shipping company AM Home Deliveries, they have a website, their website show they deliver to my area. The other thing I noticed is this company has many inconsistent hours and days of operation. If you are not local near these guys or don't want to deal with Shady NJ accents take your business elsewhere.
Buyer Beware!

East Coast TVs Scammers and liers

This place is a sham. OMG. You wont beleive what he did to me. I am reporting them to BBB and state of NJ. They lie on their website. I placed the order, he called me 5 times to up sale me. I said no. Then he billed my credit card for $500.00 more. The 2% on the website you dont get off. What a sham. It lets you add it to the cart even if you use credit card. If it was not valid them why have it add to my credit card. He called and wanted a check or cash, yeah right, are you crazy? So he can not claim this on taxes. What a lier. Bad business people. They are total scammers that I am blogging them. He is a smooth fast talking scammer. I am filing a complaint with my credit card.

All of the above is absolutely true. These people are old school wise guy scammers. Not only did the above happen, but 'Joseph' tried to sell me an up warranty and talk me into paying cash for a minimal discount. Here's the best. They sold me a Samsung 3D TV that was made for Canadien distribution and now Samsung won't warranty it in the US. Not worth the savings. All aggravation dealing with these shysters.

East Coast TVs Company overall

I have not ordered with this company and probably wont be after the way I was just spoke to. I have been watching a TV on there website for a few weeks and instead of the price going down for there Black Fri and Cyber Monday sales it actually jumped almost $150. After repeatedly trying to contact them by email and getting no response I found there FB page and left a comment (along with a few other people) inquiring into the reason for the price increase and the lack of response. After a few days they finally replied with a comment to call them for the best available price. When I called I was quoted the exact same inflated price that was on the website. When I asked why I had been instructed to call the CSR told me "maybe it is easier for you to dial a phone then to click around on a computer".

Also they delete any and all negative feedback off of there FB page almost immediately. They have deleted 4 of my comments in the past two days and I was only stating facts, not being ugly by any means.

Update by fuzzycat77

I posted a few days ago about how crappy I was treated by ECTV's CS and just wanted to give everyone an update on my goings on. They have since removed me from there Fan's on FB. Oh the heart break :( . So I went to a local big box electronic chain and haggled for about an hour and ended up walking out of the store with my PN58C7000 TV, BDC5900 3D Bluray player, and SSGP2100S Samsung/Shrek 3D starter kit all for 1, 899.86 after tax. They even through in a 1.4 HDMI cable and the Link stick.

Would just like to say GO TO HELL EAST COAST TV'S!

Now I don't have to deal with your rude CSR's, The waiting, worrying, and hopping that my TV actually arrives, and then its actually not damaged, and then that the manufacturer will actually honor the warranty considering it was purchased from a non-authorized dealer. Also on top of all that I paid my sales taxes so I don't have to worry about paying them after the fact (or not, and chance getting audited and fined).

Not sure if I should be worrying that my order has not been processed. Placed order on 4/9 and on 4/16 their website says the order is still processing. Called several times this morning and waited 45 minutes but nobody answered the phone. Emailed and still have not received a response. If I don't hear back by tomorrow I am canceling the order.

Don't buy from East Coast TV's. They charge extremely low prices for TVs but will only ship the order if you purchase an expensive warranty. On August 9th 2010 I purchased a Samsung 40" UN40C6500 from EastCoastTVs. Later that day, I received an email that said: "Please Call [protected] ask for david to confirm you order thank you". I called and they...

East Coast TVs deliverd product on time

DON'T HESITATE - GREAT COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
This has been a wonderful experience. I just purchased a Samsung 55" LED from this company on Tuesday evening. I received a call the very next evening to schedule a deliver for today. What service!

This company is for REAL. They are very supportive of your concerns. I ordered the TV for a specific price and the very next day the price went down. When I called their toll free number, they immediately lowered the bill accordingly. They are VERY cooperative in all my dealings. Delivery and setup was handled with speediness and thoroughness.

If you want to purchase any thing from this website - DO NOT HESITATE. They are the REAL DEAL!

I would recommend this company to anyone who asks.

East Coast TVs customer service

Really bad customer service. I ordered a LCD TV from them, was in contact with them twice and was told everything was fine. Then on the day it was supposed to be delivered they call and tell me they don't deliver to Pittsburgh... ten days after I ordered.

So I wasted a huge amount of time that I could have ordered from another vendor. Sounds fishy. Why wouldn't you just set up your website so you cant order from areas that you don't deliver to. Simple stuff.

Frustrating and a waste of time. Even if I could use them geographically, I would not use them again.

East Coast TVs price changes, shipping charges

TV was ordered at discounted price including free shipping. Paid extra for expedited shipping that promised delivery within 1 week. Ten days later, after numerous phone calls, the TV showed up at a totally different time than scheduled.
The extra paid for "expedited" shipping was on the invoice, and the price was list, without discount. The extended warranty that was on special when ordered also reverted to the list price.
In spite of all of the delivery hassles, my order cost $204 it should.
This company will not give copies of any invoice. I had to copy the one that the delivery person had to even get a breakdown of the charges.

The company is without doubt the cheapest you will find especially since tax is avoided out of NJ. Unfortunatly their so called white glove service is a sham. The setup and disposal of cardboard is a joke since there is only one person delivering the equiptment and unless someone is there to help him no way can he pull it off . Boxes arrive at different times so unless timing is very important to you use someone else. But you will not find better prices. Also, like all companies they will try to sell you all kinds of extended warrenties.

This review is a fake because many inconstancies

1 we don’t currently ship to Harrisburg PA please look at our shipping area map on our website. (we will be expanding our shipping region soon)

2 If there was a price discrepancy why did the customer pay for the product when the TV got to his door if their was a price discrepancy . our method of payment is pay upon delivery. the safest way to buy online

3. the customer always gets a copy of their order in their email.
