These people apparently think that during a pandemic, when families are losing income and are told to stay in their homes (which they may lose due to financial crisis!), is the appropriate time to call and make threats to people and demand payment in full. I am appalled by the tone deafness of this company. At a time where layoffs and job closures, uncertain financial situations and forecasts, fear of eviction/foreclosures, and the threat of a deadly virus are the norm, this company finds it acceptable to threaten already stressed families with legal action. Read the room, Eastpoint. You cannot get blood from stones, and people are afraid right now-- without your help.

Eastpoint Recovery Group This company violated my rights under FDCPA

This company violated my rights under FDCPA. In the last couple of weeks, myself and my household have fell ill to covid19. But my employer and close friend have called me saying a collection agency called them saying what I owe and who I owe. Quote "We know everyone received a stimulus so she has money to pay the agency", But on my voicemail the message is so vague I would never know who it was. This is so upsetting on top of having to cope with a death, Illness, lost of employment and becoming the sole breadwinner. Now after researching this company I see they have no respect, no professionalism and were denied debt collection license in Nevada because of the unsavory practices. The issue is with me not everyone else, this is playing on my mental health and anxiety. Making me feel as I wished covid19 took me out of this earth too.

The Eastpoint Recovery Group is debt collection agency that calls me non-stop. Additionally, they have called various members of my, friends & business associates family. They have given out personal information pertaining to their "case" by leaving voice messages with my personal details with individualsnot affiliated with my situation.

Eastpoint recovery group has been contacting family members about an issue that does not involve them and they are divulging my personal information to them. That is unethical and I believe unlawful and I want it to stop.

Contacted by someone spoofing their number to appear to be local. Did not identify themselves as debt collector in voicemail. Calling family and extended family but never say why. Pulled a hard credit inquiry on me. Original creditor has no idea who they are.

My son and other family members have been receiving numerous calls inquiring about my wife's information, which has resulted in harassment at all hours over the past two months. Recently, a representative named Finley contacted me, requesting to speak with her regarding an alleged unpaid loan. He provided a claim number, but I informed him that my wife does not reside in Maine. She retired from the workforce last year due to the pandemic and is currently staying out of state with loved ones until she can secure a new home through the housing authority. She is free from debt, and I am jointly responsible for any financial obligations to creditors. However, the truth is that she does not owe a single penny. I am requesting an immediate cessation of these harassing calls to my family members and that our names be removed from your collection list. Should these calls persist, I will not hesitate to file a complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney Consumer Complaint Division and the ComplaintsBoard.com to protect the peace of our elderly household.

Eastpoint Recovery Group July 30 I received a call on my cell from a number seeking an unknown individual

On July 30, my cell phone rang with a call from an unknown number inquiring about someone I didn't recognize. I informed the caller of my lack of acquaintance with the person in question. They politely ended the call. However, since then, I've been receiving persistent daily calls from the same number. Despite my efforts to block them, they continue to leave voicemails, even using a different number marked as private. I recently erased most messages from my phone due to their incessant nature. This has been ongoing for nearly a month, with no end in sight, and it's become a form of harassment. Their persistence did not even pause for a family funeral. This company is listed with the ComplaintsBoard.com, yet their actions seem unlawful. Complaints on your site suggest this is a common issue. I urge you to issue a cease and desist order against them. Should there be any financial loss on my part, I would seek compensation for that as well.

This debt collection agency calls my house non-stop. They call the entire extended family of the person they are collecting the debt from. They give out personal information pertaining to their "case" by leaving voice messages. They spam call you all times of day and night. Non-stop contact with them and people who are not affiliated with the person or the debt.

A woman from Eastpoint Recovery Group keeps calling my phone, sometimes as late as 9:00pm, and leaving aggressive, threatening messages about an alleged debt. I have all of these harassing messages documented for my records and my safety. Eastpoint Recovery Group claims they have contacted me by mail, but they have not. They claim I owe some kind of debt, but will not leave any details or mail me anything pertaining to this debt, or to validate this debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). I would like them to cease and desist their harassing behavior immediately, and I absolutely never did authorize them to contact me by phone. If this company needs anything from me, they should be able to reach me by mail at my mailing address. Otherwise, they must cease and desist all phone calls and remove any false information that they may be reporting on my credit report. I will be checking this next. Thank you to the ComplaintsBoard.com for assisting me with this problem!

They have not mailed me anything as they claim, they have never validated anything about this debt under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), therefore by law they must cease and desist with their harassing, unlawful activity. I literally have no idea who this company even is, or why they are now calling and harassing my family. Please stop calling me and my family and mail me something to prove the debt is owed.

Eastpoint Recovery Group I started receiving voicemails that did not identify themselves and only a reference number

I started receiving voicemails that did not identify themselves and only a reference number.Initially calls came from several (716) area code numbers. I did not respond as I thought they were fraudulent or spam calls. There was never any identification that they were a debt collector. I have not received any letters by mail to attempt to collect. I did receive a call on 7/31 and a message was left stating this was a debt collector, I returned the call and found out they had purchased a debt/ line of credit from Paypal. They stated they had made several attempts to mail me information, I stated I did not receive any information. They then threatened legal action at which point I said I would have to consult a lawyer they then stated I had until 2pm that day to make a decision to pay the debt in full over the phone. The man became very threatening and I hung up. I would like to threatening calls to stop as they have not sent me any formal notification of legal action

Eastpoint Recovery Group has been calling my family and friends about an alleged debt they are stating is mine. An Eastpoint Recovery employee named Eric is leaving voicemails on my family's cell phones threatening legal action against me. They also called one of my family members at their place of work. Per Federal and state law, Eastpoint Recovery and their employees MUST cease and desist from contacting me or any of my family, friends, neighbors or employer. I do have the threatening voicemails saved should the ComplaintsBoard.com require evidence of their illegal behavior.

A person named Kate H first contacted me back in October She called non-stop and demanded that I paid a debt that I specifically told her that was not related to be and I had not been in contact with that person for over 5 years. This company claims they have sent letters to my home stating what debt is for. Now it's 3/30 and I am yet to get any sort of letter. I get a phone call today from Travis from the Eastpoint Recovery telling me I have until 5 PM 3/31 to get in contact with them over something I have yet to receive in the mail I would like for this company to stop contacting me before they try and reach out to other people I know and harass them. I have read reviews on how they treat other people and it is illegal what they are doing Please, I would like for them to cease and desist. Also, isn't it enough what the country is going through right now. To have someone call and harass you is just sickening. Especially in a financial issue so many of us are in

Eastpoint Recovery Group A person named Frank W*** repeatedly calls my family members attempting to get location information from them about me

A person named Frank W repeatedly calls my family members attempting to get location information from them about me. They refuse to give him information, but he never stops calling. My husband was called recently by Frank W. My husband asked for more information about the organization and Frank was not very polite in his responses and hung up on my husband. My husband called Frank back but Frank put him on hold so he decided to hang up. Frank has called my parents repeatedly and it causing them to worry and stress. Frank has called me repeatedly and I didn't answer his calls because I didn't recognize his number. I tried calling back once to get to the bottom of this issue but he did not respond. I do not want to receive any more harassing calls from this company. Please cease contacting me or anyone associated with me. Please remove all information you have about me from your records. There seems to be something clearly unethical and illegal in how their business is conducted.

Eastpoint Recovery Group A family member has been contacted since September from this company

A family member has been contacted since September from this company. Upon further Investigation I have found out that family members have been contacted and confidential and sensitive information has been given out to individuals who have received full details on a matter I wasn't aware off. This is unethical and illegal. I get a call from Jason R was threatened and told I will be taken to court if I don't pay a certain amount. he gave me full detail in regards of other credit cards I have which was certainly unprofessional. He became very rude and even charged one of my cards. The call dropped, I called back and did not hear back. Today another family member has been contacted by Christy and all my personal and sensitive information have been disclosed. At this point im considering getting a lawyer involved as I have never received a full detailed letter on what this debt is about other than a PayPal account. The Fair credit reporting act forbids to give out sensitive information better yet unknown debt that has not been confirmed

Eastpoint Recovery Group Frank has called myself, my wife and my mother on multiple occasions

Frank has called myself, my wife and my mother on multiple occasions. He told my wife (harrassingly) that "I can call you all I want because your number was listed and now I know it is a good number". I finally spoke with him on the phone AFTER requesting they stop calling and send something in writing (which has yet to happen). This call, as well as the voice mail I left a week ago were both recorded on my end. He claimed they got my mothers number as a message contact from the company they were trying to collect. This was a flat out lie, as I have only used my mothers number (which is less than 6 months old) as a hippa emergency contact. Therefore they found it in some other, likely illegal when it comes to debt collection, way. On the call today, I told him I would be sending a cease and desist letter to his company and the NY Attorney General. He told me the call was being recorded (like he was threatening me as it was already several minutes into the call before he said so), and I tried to tell him I was recording too, but he would NOT let me say anything, even when I yelled to get his attention. He continued badgering and I finally simply said, that's ok, I am recording the call as well, and I am hanging up. And I did.

Eastpoint Recovery Group On 7/13 a voice message was left by a Mr

On 7/13 a voice message was left by a Mr. Lou L. This writer called the number back at [protected], wherein Mr. L failed to identify himself, or as a debt collector, and refused to give the name of his company and address until I asked multiple times. In addition, it was found that a hard inquiry was placed on my credit report by EASTPOINT RECOVERY GROUP on 7/13, which was NOT authorized by me in any way, shape or form. You will be receiving a letter and I will expect that this UNAUTHORIZED hard inquiry is removed from my credit report. Mr. L continued to be verbally abusive, yelling at me, not letting me ask any questions, interrupting me when I was trying to say anything, and giving away sensitive information about an alleged debt without verifying who he was actually talking to. This violates the FDCPA in multiple ways. The conversation was recorded and voicemail saved. He claims to have "just received my account" which was the excuse for why no written communication was ever received by me for this alleged debt. Further, he claims that "you paid on this account for 4 years, and now you are going to act like you've never heard of it". Again, he never verified or confirmed who he was actually talking to.

Eastpoint Recovery Group Kate H*** called my cell phone and was both aggressive and rude

Kate H called my cell phone and was both aggressive and rude. I have nothing to do with her company and she was calling people in her relentless and inappropriate search to recover debt (assumed based on her company name and looking them up online - which is minimally available) that I am in no way responsible or connected with incurring. When I tried to stop her from talking over me and end the call she raised her voice and became more aggressive. I told her to never call me again and I then had to hang up because she would not stop. After the call was over I was in shock. I decided to not let her get away with treating people like that and when I called back to ask her name and company name she then had the audacity to tell me to never call her office! She did reluctantly tell me her name and company name after I asked a couple times (because she continued to talk over me). I just hope others do not have to deal with these tactics and rude people like Ms. H. It's sad that people like her think she can treat others she doesn't even know so poorly. I have blocked her calls and if this company or she ever contact me I will absolutely contact the police based on how aggressive they are after just a relatively short interaction with them.

Eastpoint Recovery Group 05/19 - Frank called claiming he was an attorney attained by another company who had recently purchased a debt of mine

05/19 - Frank called claiming he was an attorney attained by another company who had recently purchased a debt of mine. He then claimed I had received 3 different letters from the company the debt was originally from, the new company that purchased it and the company he works for. I have received nothing. He was pushing me to settle immediately over the phone. I was confused by the start of the conversation and was trying to verify who he was. He seemed like he wanted to get off the phone after any question I answered. The conversation ended shortly after he said he'd give me 24 hours. 05/22 - Frank called again, this time he's Frank W and I ask him a couple questions to verify who he is. He immediately gets annoyed. He also now says he's not an attorney and never said he was. Sorry Frank, you did say you were an attorney and you suggested I get one as well. He now claims they just mailed whatever it is I'm supposed to get. Conversation went on a bit and he says I need to pay. I said no. He then puts me on hold, comes back and says he spoke with his manager who says I now have 30 days to comply. I asked how do I resolve this and pay. He asked for my checking account #. Seriously? Don't think so buddy. I laughed, called him a d*mbass, I apologize for that. He hung up shortly after. Whoever Frank is or whatever this company is needs to review themselves, both personally and professionally. I believe its a scam. I have no way of knowing otherwise. During our conversations I repeatedly asked for verification and he was reluctant to do anything. I have received no mail, no email, just the 2 harassing phone calls.
