I purchased a Doberman puppy from these people in March of 2007. He was 8 months old when I purchased him. Their website has claims that their puppies are housebroken, etc... Mine could barely control his bowels.

I've been waiting since March of 2007 for his AKC papers which were NEVER PROVIDED! I paid over $3, 000 for this dog and I have no papers.

Pauline McKinnon keeps promising to send them but never does!

These people are crooks! Don't buy from them! Everything they tell you to get your money is a LIE!

Ron Brock-You were sent the papers TWICE! to your Chicago address.
The dog couldn't hold his bowels because you overfed him!

Elite Family Dogs are not scammers or Liar's. Our vet who does the county police K9 recommended them to us as he said he has never seen Dobermans of such quality and temperment and we have friends that have 2 dobermans from them and all are thrilled. Steve I believe has been doing this for 20+ years and this is the only negative comment I can find online. Stop scaring your dog and maybe it will control its bowels. It took us a year to make a decision and NEVER were we pressured or even asked for a dollar until we were ready. We sat in there living room and met there family and all the dogs. These are good honest people raising amazing dogs. How could you be the ONLY person in 20+ yrs who is not happy if what you say is true?

We purchased a doberman from Steve and Pauline about 7 years ago. He had perfect temperment when coming into an existing household with other pets. We could not have asked for a better integration. He quickly became an integral part of our family, and to this day, we wouldn't trade him for anything.

We ended up talking to them on the phone several times over a few months before deciding to purchase our doberman from Steve and Pauline. They were extremely helpful, patient, and just plain very nice people. They were not "pushy salesman" type people in any way.

The money we spent with Elite Family Dogs was steep for us when we bought him seven years ago. But I would pay that money in a heartbeat knowing the quality and "family friendly" tempermant their dogs are taught prior to delivery. No question about it. Elite Family Dogs are definitely not scammers.

Ron Brock did not return the placement contract which I stated was required for me to send AKC papers.

After 6 months he finally sent it.

I have just sent the third set of AKC papers directly to the PA Attorney General to forward to him so it is on file and proven that he has received papers. I do not believe he hasn't receive them and want to have other parties involved to end his harassment.

Ron Brock purchased a dog after several phone conversations and video with myself-Pauline, and my husband-Steve McKinnon. When he received the dog, he did not follow our guidlines for food, feeding and use of crate and time to relax after a transfer.

The over-feeding issue resulted in his bowel problems, as well as his anxiety over your yelling and unwillingness to give him time to "settle in" after coming to a new home. They are not robots to be expected to perform on command when he did not even have time to develop an emotional bond with you. You were doubting and critical from the beginning leaving Roman to feel distant from you, therefore no one to have comfort in.

Romeo was barking on command, off leash taught and certainly housebroken long before coming to you. All our dogs live in our home with us and our 5 children. We do not have kennel runs, we do not breed volumes of puppies and we do not separate the dogs from us. They are born in our family room and raised as our pets until the day they leave us. It is my husband I and we do this full time-all the raising, teaching and transfer ourselves. We do not employ ANY others in ANY capacity.

We try to screen our clients because of the love and commitment we have for our dogs, they are members of our family and our clients as well. Unfortunately i this situation we failed the dog.

We have had these bloodlines for 30 years and do not allow breeding of our dogs or participate in the showring.

We breed and raise dogs as service dogs and family companions and family protection and have hundreds of thrilled clients who we consider family. A couple times a year we have clients from 10 or 12 years ago come to us for their new family member and we are honored to provide that.

I am looking for a breeder of sound, quailty dobermanns. Therfore looking at buyers complaints or praise. Your complaint however seems to be more about you're inability to train and your strong lack of puppy knowledge. I am not familar with this breeder, though I have been looking over their site and what I've learned, is that their clients, other than you, seem very pleased. A puppy in an investment in time, money and emotion. One should take the time to really understand what a puppy needs before blaming someone else and causing real harm to animal that generally lives to please.

I am very pleased with our Doberman we got from the Mckinnon's. Everyone always asks how our dog is so calm. She stays in the house for hours and she doesn't go in the house. You just need to watch their food and water intake. I recommend The Elite Family Dog breeders.

We purchased a Doberman off of Steve and Pauline a year ago, and we couldn't be more pleased with our girl...her temperment is AWESOME! She is everything that they said she would be, and she learns new things everyday on her own:) She is now 14 1/2 months old and we love her to death...if we didn't have our other dog, we would have bought her sister too, but we can only manage two dogs in our house at a time. We will only buy our future Dobermans from Steve and Pauline (as long as they are still breeding).
THANK YOU STEVE AND PAULINE for breeding such awesome dogs:)

I must disagree with this fellow's comment about his experience. In April of 2009 my family purchased a male dobie puppy. He was easy to housebreak and train. My family were not doberman experienced and looked into the breed months and months before purchasing him. Steve and Pauline spoke with me and my husband extensively about the breed and myths about the breed. Anyway Titus just turned 2 in Febuary and we are making plans to buy another puppy from Steve and Pauline. We wouldn't trade him for any other dog. His tempermant is awesome.

Thank You

I bought my sweet girl from Steve in 1999. My son was 15 months old. That girl did everything Steve and Pauline said she would and more. She was 6 months old when they brought her to me. She never left my son's side. She protected him and loved him until the day she died. That was April 2011. My son was 14 years old and heart broken. We all were. I would buy a dog from them again in a heartbeat. My son and I miss our Ellie so much we can't think of another dobie right now without tearing up. Bless you Steve and Pauline and your fine family. My husband and I got our male dog in 2006 . From Steve and Pauline, And had no trouble in house breaking him .
The dog is now seven years old . And a GREAT blessing to our family, He travels all over with us and has even stayed
in motels, and we have had nothing but great comments about him. Yes it does take a person who takes time to train
love and work with them. But it takes time to work with any animal if you want a great family member. These dogs have had the
proper breeding to stat with . and care when they where in the Mckinnon home. I would get another doberman from them at any time.
I am trying to make contact with steve, and it seams as his phone # has changed if you know where they are please post it
Thank you From the wilhites

For Roberta Wilhite.
Steve McKinnon, owner, at [protected].
He has a new litter of 7 pups about 8 weeks old. I will be buying one from him. Definitely one of the BEST Dobie breeders I've had the pleasure of meeting.
