Hardcore Sales Tactics
After 2 hours of listening to their spiel, I kicked them out of my house, because they would not answer my questions. They are hardcore closers. If you want to finance with them, they will not reveal interest rates or time frame. The tactics they use are very similar to a "Used Car Salesmen". They ask you questions, but when you ask them questions, they then ask you a question. They try to wear you out.
Recommendation: Get all info, such as interest rates and how many months to pay off the loan before you give them a deposit or signature
I purchased a shingle roof system from Erie for my 100-year-old brick farmhouse
I purchased a shingle roof system from Erie for my 100-year-old brick farmhouse. The oldest portion of the home, a two-story portion was the old metal roof that had been installed over cedar shake. This portion was about 1100 sq ft. Over the years I had made two large additions that totaling 2800 sq ft. Those portions had been shingled more than 15 years ago. I will say the shingle I looked at and held in my hand during the sales cycle was a single shingle with half of the shingle that would be installed over it, when installed. I mistook this sample as being a single shingle that would then be installed over another just like it. This would effectively give me twice the thickness of shingle once installed. But this was not the case. When the shingles arrived, they did not appear to be the same as the one I had held in my hand. I worked through this misunderstanding with the sales, materials, and installation teams to my satisfaction. In the end, it is the 30-year warranty that I trust to ensure the roof provides the protection that I need it to, not a double thick shingle (which does not exist). I enjoyed each of the people I interfaced with at each step of the way. From sales, materials purchasing and scheduling, to installation lead and installation team, they were patient, respectful, and knowledgeable. The installation team worked in very cold conditions and were resourceful in creating a warming hut for the shingles, so they were thawed out and easy to work with. Upon completion and award of my warranty, we did a walk off and noted the flashing caulking job that was a little sloppy in places. They were going to send someone out immediately, but I asked them to wait This, I am certain will be taken care of when the weather permits. I recommend Erie if one of your motivating factors is a worry-free install over a 30-yr course of time. The 30 yr warranty is transferable up to 10 years, even if those 10 yrs are the last 10 years of the original 30-yr warranty.
Very polite. Answered all questions. Most importantly it was done in a timely manor and they cleaned up after themselves. The roof looks great
performed work in a timely and neat fashion. did tear off and removed chimney. cleaned up everything very well and ran magnet over everything. Was very impressed with final result.
Excellent service and done in a timely manner cause we actually had storms coming in the morning. Also gutters turned out great for only one man company... And final cleanup was like nobody was there, doing complete roof and gutters
Erie, sells and installed a great product. Best looking residential roof that i have ever seen.
Initial salesman was very considerate of our time, and honest about what we were getting into
Initial salesman was very considerate of our time, and honest about what we were getting into. The initial consultation came with an exact price, not an estimate, which was a welcome surprise. Monthly payments for a metal roof came in below what we anticipated. Installation went fairly quickly, despite the intermittent snow/ice in the area. The unfortunate part of this was that our driveway ended up completely occupied between 9 AM and 3 PM for the three days the roofers were here. Plus, they left lunch refuse on my backyard table overnight, though they cleaned it up on the last day. We've had substantially windy, snowy, icy days with no issues from the new roof in the past week. The most important part, the end product, came out very nicely! It has been almost a week, and there is still leftover materials and a ladder sitting alongside our driveway. I've also found 4 or 5 sharp shards of metal in the yard and on the patio, with a bunch of spots with roof dust spread around. Though they did go around the house with a leaf blower, and walk around to grab the largest chunks, the snow during the installation must have hidden some of it. We are new homeowners, so we had a satellite dish we didn't want, and some not great wire mesh gutter guards. The roofers removed the satellite dish from the roof as requested, but left it in the yard, so I had to cut the cord and get rid of it myself. They removed and curled up the gutter guards before putting them along the side of the house, but did not reinstall them. Not sure that I really care, but it's probably something that they should have asked about. Overall, I would easily give a 5/5 if I had zero issue with the contractors. I could overlook the issues, but I cannot ignore the fact that some of these issues would have been more impactful if I had kids who could get hurt by the leftovers in the yard, if I needed to leave if I didn't work from home, and if I wasn't physically able to deal with the satellite dish and gutter guards
Erie Roof was very straightforward to work with. We were dealing with a 13 year old roof where the asphalt shingles were prematurely breaking down. ER came in, understood the issue, came with several solutions. The price was much higher than other bids, but they also had the best technical solution for what we needed. The install team was top notch. They came in, hustled, offered even more solutions and suggestions. The roof was done quickly. We didn't have to pick up after them. Likewise, someone will come and inspect the roof every year for the next 3 years, and then for every 3 years after that.
The installation of my roof was very quick and efficient. It was finished in one day and the crew insured. Everything was excellent shortly after the installation we had a wind storm and it lifted some shingles. I am still waiting on the repair under warranty.
Awesome very professional would recommend them to anyone, will call them again for windows
Only issues were lack of communication on 2 occurrences. Overall the job was completed. And they did a good job in cleaning up after the work was done
We paid cash for a new roof on December XX XXXX
We paid cash for a new roof on December XX XXXX.
February 19, it was discovered our roof was leaking and cause damage in multiple rooms.
February XX XXXX, Erie had someone come out and inspect the damage and confirmed all the damage was from a leak cause by the roof and assured us the interior repairs would be addressed once the roof could be repaired once the snow and ice thawed.
February XX XXXX we had a large piece of the roof soffit break off and open a hole in the side of the roof.
March X XXXX, someone finally came out I to repair the roof leaks and the large chunk that was hanging. I asked about the documentation I was promised to reassure us the interior damage would be covered, but it was "forgotten". I spoke to someone I was told was the regional manager over the employee's phone and he assured me everything would be taken care of and I would have it in writing by the end of the following week.
March XX XXXX, I spoke with someone and was told me to get estimates for the repairs and then let Erie know so they could cut my contractor a cut.
April X XXXX, I have not received anything in writing and I am not getting any responses to my request for an email address to forward estimates to via phone, text, email, and social media. I have even tried reaching my salesperson, but he is ignoring me as well.
April 5, I spoke with my insurance company since I am not getting any assistance from Erie any longer. They said that poor workmanship is an exclusion from home insurance, so they suggested we consider legal action.
The contractors I spoke to have as told me that I need remediation done to make sure mold isn't growing and they would like to speak with someone at Erie to assured that they will be paid for the work they need to do.
Also we are still finding nails from them throwing stuff to the ground from the job 4 months ago. We have had to patch our tires several times and I haven't even bothered bringing that up to them yet.
So as of right now I can't say I've had the best experience.
Update: 4/6
Spoke with an attorney and they suggested I go through my homeowners insurance to file a claim since Erie won't follow through on their promise to take care of the interior damages. Should we be denied due to poor workmanship, we will have that documented and then we will then pursue further actions.
very professional, arrived early and went straight to work. finished by early afternoon and completly cleaned up the area. Thank you!
Very professional. Roof was done in 1 day and looks great. Will call them when I need my bay window replaced.
Excellent Work! The roof was completed quickly. The customer service was awesome. Great job Erie Homes. The roof looks amazing.
Install was great! The crew was courteous and professional, the job took a little longer than expected but after stripping the old roof off the wood was not up to code so they brought in wood and covered the whole roof. No cost to me! They stayed late and dried in the roof before leaving, returned the next morning and finished the job!
Sales Pitch Doesn't Match Service
Sales Pitch Doesn't Match Service. The salesmen were at our home and made us feel very confident in our choice of using Erie, even though it was significantly more expensive than other companies. Was told everything would be completed in about two weeks and salesmen would come while construction was being done to assure that we were satisfied.
We got an email a week later for financing. It took about two weeks for contract manager to call. We arranged for items to be delivered July 9th. Items arrived at 7am. The people delivering required a signature which wouldn't have happened if they were five minutes later. We were not aware that we needed to be present when items arrived.
Shingles were put on roof as expected. Received call from nextdoor neighbor that the remaining roofing supplies were on her front lawn. Mind you our lawns do not connect.
Fast forward, call that Monday for installation date and are informed that the contractor will call us to set up time. No call, no text for several days. Arrive home from work one day and roofers are on my roof, placing shingles. We were not aware they were coming. Were not able to cover A/C unit, landscaping and remove removable lanscaping. Both parties continued to blame other party for lack of communication.
Roof has been on for 3 weeks and there are still bubbles, which we were informed would lie flat from heat. It was 90 degrees for the week after.
I was informed that my gutters would be installed this past Thursday, or Friday and I would receive a call. It hadn't rained, so I waited for a call. I received a call from a contractor around 6pm today (Saturday 7/31) stating they wanted to come to my home on Sunday 8/1 to look at job. I explained that Sunday will not work as we were having company and asked for a different day. (Mind you I was told Thursday, or Friday if there wasn't rain.) She informed me she didn't know and will call me, because they were busy and had other jobs to do.
At this point, my job isn't complete and I am extremely unsatisfied with Erie and their contractors. I was under the impression that they had licensed contractors from what the salesmen explained. The roofing contractor was not licensed and was covered under Erie's umbrella.
I have been extremely disappointed in the whole process with Erie. We paid for what we were hoping would be an easy process. I could have paid 25% less and hired a small local company considering the "high end," products they sold us came from a local roofing supply company, which supplies are available to the general public.
If I could, I would have them take down their "fiber glass shingles," and go with a company that works more closely with the customer.
The crew was extremely efficient and pleasant to work with. From top to bottom it was a great experience.
The salesman Don explained everything to us. Inspected, identified the problems and showed us the solution. The installation crew was great! Professional, workmanlike and did the roof in one day. It was a complete tear off. Cleaned up beautifully. We received first rate product and service. I would highly recommend Erie Remodeling/ Roofing.
Total professional service from 1st contact to follow up. Work crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Cleaned up everything when done.
I wouldn't even give them a one Star but had to leave a star
I wouldn't even give them a one Star but had to leave a star. Don't waste your time with Erie roofs out of Louisville Ky. We signed a contract after the salesman was in our home for over 3 hours. We signed a contract to have a roof replaced for $20,000 and paid a down payment of $4,000. They were supposed to start on April 19 with an expected completion date of May 03. We also agreed to let them come earlier if they could. On April 21, 2 days past the expected start date, we get a text stating they needed an additional$1500 to do the job (mind you that we had a signed contract for them to do the job and their contract stated that we would have 3 days to change our mind and cancel and after that we would be obligated because they place the order for the materials) we told them we were not willing to pay more. *** was the rep that signed the contract. The text he sent stated that his vice president would not agree to the $20,000 and wanted $1500 more. We asked to speak to his supervisor. He texted back and said he was the supervisor in that office and he texted back and said the only one above him is the vice president so we asked for his name and number, he texted back and said I don't give that information out. So I we texted back and said give him our name and # and have him call is, *** texted back and said that the VP was a very busy man, I texted back and said, as am I, *** just responded by liking the message. We were told on Wednesday that our check would be mailed out Friday and expect it in 2 weeks. We were not satisfied that it would take 2 weeks to get our refund, that was one of the reasons why we wanted to speak to his supervisor. Friday came I called corporate, I was told they had never heard of anything like that happening before and I told them, I read a review that it has and she said corporate office were closed for the weekend but a *** would be calling back by the evening. The call never came. So today, Thurs April 29 I called again asking about my refund. I was transferred back to the Louisville office and was told the check would not be mailed out until tomorrow April 30 I asked the sales manager the name of the Vice president and he said he did not know- so ironic you don't know the name of the person you work for. So I told him you have to know a name, give me his email addy and name, the email he gave me was review won't let me add, he also told me it could be up to another week and a half before we receive our refund. So from March 29 thru current date not only am I still out my 4 grand but I'm losing the interest from the bank on that money. They expect their money up front but man it sure is hard getting your money. I give this company 0 stars and 0 stars for customer service as well!
We recently had our roof done by this company
We recently had our roof done by this company. From the very beginning it was a complete nightmare. The sales representative who came to our home ordered our supplies before we signed our contract and forced us into going forward with the roofing plan. He also had written out a price point that we would be promised including a low interest rate which actually did not end up happening in the end. He acted surprised at the actual numbers created at the start of our project and told us that we could not cancel our contract without having to go through a court process. What a headache. The roofing team that came to our home was also horrific to say the very least. They made our entire yard look like a tornado zone, leaving ample amounts of trash, food, empty bottles, cigarettes, and roofing supplies scattered across the yard. Not only did they completely destroy our yard, but also the neighbors yards on both sides of the house. When they left the house after "completion", there were nails, razorblades, shingles, trash, cigarette butts and wrappers from various other items EVERYWHERE! Even my entire parking area was filled with cigarette butts. I have two small children and a puppy who were not even allowed to go outside due to the amount of dangerous items left in my yard. My son had picked up one of the butts thrown in the yard and tried eating it which only added to my complete distaste for this companies lack of professionalism. We also noticed a huge gap in our roof where the new roof and previous foundation did not even connect. We called the company to make a complaint and were told someone would be out to finish cleaning and repair the roof. He came the next day in the evening. We told him where the gap was in the roof, birds had been seen flying in and to be aware of that. He mostly smoked cigarettes on our roof the entire time and patched the opening with a random piece of metal (when we had shingles installed?). He also did not clean up the yard. I had to spend the next week going around to my yard and my neighbors yards picking up trash and excess roofing materials out of the grass, trees, flowerbeds, by vehicles, and across sidewalks. I am still finding trash laying around l including razorblades, metal scraping, shingles, and huge nails a couple of weeks later. We have also begun to notice that there is scratching and rustling around sounds coming through our upstairs bedroom and bathroom where the roof was "connected". There are birds trapped in the space and can be heard all throughout the day trying to claw their way through the walls into our home. I have never experienced such HORRIBLE customer service. If I could shy anyone away from these services, I would 100% advise against going through with this company's roofing opportunities. Hands down the worst company we have ever worked with.
Let me start this first by saying that I am a first time homeowner, so I've been learning A LOT as I've been going
Let me start this first by saying that I am a first time homeowner, so I've been learning A LOT as I've been going. When I purchased my house, I was in need of roof work right away. I called around, trying to get quotes to repair the existing slate roof but was having no luck. I had seen a lot of advertisements for Erie on social media sites, so I figured I would give them a call one day for a quote. The sales rep was extremely pleasant and helpful. He answered all of my questions and at first, I thought he was just showing up for a quote just like all the other quotes I had received. When he gave the quote, I said I would like to think about it. This is when he started getting pushy. At one point he asked, "What can I do to make you sign a contract before I leave today?" We finally discussed pricing and worked out a finance plan that was affordable and comfortable. Although I wasn't fond of how pushy he was, I definitely liked the quality of the materials and how thorough of a job the sales rep claimed Erie would do, which is why I ended up going with Erie anyways. The quality of the work was definitely superb. I am extremely pleased with the completed job. There were some not-so-happy moments though during the process:
- There was a language barrier issue with the crew that showed up and it made some of the process frustrating. The one crew member I frequently spoke with was very short with me.
- The crew was at my house for several days and each night, they left huge OSB boards scattered on my lawn. They left random litter in my yard a couple of times.
- I watched one crew member walk to the back of my yard next to my shed and go to the bathroom.
- They had zero regard for all of my plant beds. They took a rake straight through most of the beds and I had to ask one crew member to be careful with the last bed so he wouldn't ruin that one.
- It wasn't communicated to me until AFTER the job was complete that: 1. I needed new gutters 2. they were not going to reinstall one gutter they took down 3. they were not going to add flashing to the side of the cupola at the peak of my roof (I had to pay a separate contractor to do that. In hindsight, I should have asked to make sure but I assumed since they were working on everything up there, it would be done. The manager said it was a "siding job" and that they don't deal with that sort of thing).
- They damaged one of my gutters by setting a ladder on it to go up and down during the whole job and then they tried to cover it up by bending the broken pieces back together (and didn't say anything about it. I had to call the office and complain.)
- The crew told me another crew would come out to clean my siding from all of the slate dust during removal and when I called the office about it, the manager told me that they crew installing the roof was supposed to do it. This went back and forth 2 or 3 times before finally the installation crew cleaned my siding.
- There were still nails and debris all over my yard after clean up. They used a big magnet to get most of it but I continued finding nails for a couple of days after the job was completed.
After the job was complete, I was in constant contact with one of the managers at the office. He was very understanding of my unhappy experience and tried to make amends. He was willing to submit a claim to corporate for me to get reimbursed for the broken gutter and reinstallation of the removed gutter (which did end up happening). Overall, I am pleased with the quality of the roof but was displeased with the rest of the experience. I personally have not recommended Erie to anyone that I hear talking about roof work.
Erie Construction and their salesman are untrustworthy, scamming consumers
Erie Construction and their salesman are accused of scamming the elderly by overcharging for subpar roofing work, using low-quality materials and unqualified workers. They allegedly use MDF particle board, which is hazardous, and inferior roofing tiles. The workmanship is described as the worst, with nails blowing off and unaddressed damage. The salesman allegedly tried to overcharge for incomplete work, and the company is slow to respond to complaints, with a long list of unsatisfied customers awaiting repairs. The salesman is characterized as deceitful, exploiting the elderly, and not to be trusted for roofing services.

We kept seeing promotional ads all over Facebook for getting a roof for $89
We kept seeing promotional ads all over Facebook for getting a roof for $89. This was the ONLY reason for even seeking Erie Metal Roofing out. We knew they were known to be on the expensive side and not within our financial reach otherwise. Before making this appointment we were very clear with our situation and what we we were looking for. We didn't want to waste our time or theirs. They seemed pretty confident they could work with us. So we scheduled an appointment. We had two representatives of Erie Meal Roofing out of Middletown, CT at our home mid May. They arrived at 6:00 pm and left at 10:00 pm. The representatives put on an impressive presentation and we liked the product they were offering. When we saw the quote they provided, it was pretty steep and definitely no where near $89.00 and shared with them our concerns of getting qualified. They did not share the same concerns. We agreed with the representatives , for promotional reasons, they could take pictures when they wanted. They could put their sign on our lawn for as long as they wanted and that we would wait up until July to get the actual work done. We needed a new roof replacement and chimney work (which they knew prior to coming to our home and do not offer and did not disclose to us when making the appointment that they don't do chimney work or the appointment would have never happened). Since the representatives left our home that late evening, we had not heard ANYTHING from Erie. We were receiving the denials from the lenders they were applying to but NOTHING from Erie. After receiving a couple of denials I reached out the main representative that did most of the talking and left a text for him to please confirm if we would be moving forward or not. No response. So I tried to email the email address I was given by the main representative and still got no response. Today, I finally called the other representative (promotional manger) and finally got through. I explained my frustration of not receiving ANY follow up either way from either one of them. He said would check into it and get back to me and he did. He instructed me to call the office because "they" would not discuss "us" with him and that usually indicates a denial. I did call the office and voiced my experience with this company. It should not have taken a call to a promotions manger to find out that we did not qualify. They/clients should not have to figure it out on there own. We gave them our time. I think it's only fair to return the same even if they don't qualify with Erie. How long does it take to send an email and simply say we can't qualify you at this time? So that they/clients can start searching elsewhere. Very unfair and unprofessional way to conduct business. NO company is TOO GOOD to not AT LEAST let their clients know if they are unable to qualify them. NOT just let them figure it out. I also feel their/Erie's promotional ads they have all over Facebook are very misleading. Had we knew they were going to want to sell a FULL priced roof we would have never agreed to have the appointment. We knew what we could afford that's why we sought out the promotional ad AND mentioned that to them as well when we called. We were turning other contractors down for the past month, when we could have found another contractor that might have been able to qualify us. Now we are back to square one and have wasted a month depending/waiting on what these representatives said while in our home. I am very disappointed in this companies' customer service and misleading ads. I will never refer this company to anyone. They/Erie talk a good talk. But if you don't qualify, they no longer have time for YOU. This is very unprofessional for a larger known company. I wanted to share my experience so that maybe it will save another person(s) from getting caught up in this type of unfair and unprofessional business practice. Very disappointed, East Hartford, CT

I responded to an advertisement on Facebook last week and it didn't take them long to respond
I responded to an advertisement on Facebook last week and it didn't take them long to respond...4 times within a couple of minutes (couldn't take the call immediately). Then I received another call about an hour later which I was able to take. The lady I spoke with was very nice. Mentioned that I would get a Veteran's discount and because my wife was an educator, she would get a discount to and if we did that advertisement discount, we would get that as well but never mentioned the amount of the discount. Two days later, the salesman showed up. He inspected the roof and got into the attic and took some photos and then did his presentation. The presentation was convincing and was convinced that our roof was going to blow off the building or fall in at the next storm. Regardless, we felt the product was a good product and would do what we wanted it to do. Then the price came. We had 31 squares that he was quoting with 6 feet of ice break and 1 decking. First, he asked what I expected the price to come in at. I said, "About $18,000." He had already done the figures at this point and turned the paper towards me and said, "$36,000." Many times he said, "You can go out and get a new roof from some fly-by-night roofer at $10,000. I am selling the Quality Service and Warranty." But wait there's more..."Now, let's see if we can apply any discounts, Are you a veteran?" Me: "Yes, that's what I told the lady on the phone." Him: "Great and what does your wife do?" Me: "She is an educator." Him: "Great and would you be willing to accept the advertisement discount of the work?" Me: "Sure" Him: "Well with all that, we can reduce the cost by about 20%. Your new price is going to be $29,000 after discounts." I am still not out at this point but the presentation of the product was still pretty damn good. Then came the financing. I was quoted a monthly payment that "wouldn't be disruptive" to our budget. $417/month for 10 years on a $29,000 loan. I asked what the percentage was a couple of times and was told 1.25% to 1.35% depending on credit. I have almost perfect credit. As I started to calculate the credit, I saw flaws in that interest rate. I confronted and at that point, I knew I wasn't getting this roof done with their financing because this was obviously a lie and I caught them in it. For what it's worth, they did offer 18 months 0% on the $29,000 loan. That would have been crazy disruptive. $1163/month. Nope. I asked if there was an energy credit because he kept harping energy star compliant. He said he would check into it and get back to me. Still like the product so I went to my bank. I told them the price and they balked at it almost immediately. They were very helpful but also threw up red flags about everything from the cost to the financing and questioned whether I thought this was a company I would want to do business with. Left me with a lot of soul searching and played the sales call over in my head. I called a local roofing company to see what they could do on the project. They thought the other company might have been in line with costs until I told them how many "squares" I had and asked if I had a Ferrari parked in the driveway because it was a lot higher than he would quote. I compared apples to apples on the product as close as I could and he said, he could match the product close and charge much less. The Erie Construction rep called back the day after the presentation and said he had some great news. The roof would qualify for a tax credit and then offered the other news that the interest rate on their financing was 9-12% and wouldn't say what I was qualified for. I checked with an accountant after this call and was told that this would NOT qualify for an energy tax credit. It's just a home improvement. I believe that the product was very good but there are/were too many red flags for me to pull the trigger with Erie Construction. They were thorough but weren't always truthful and the stuff they weren't truthful on were things that wouldn't have mattered much in the decision making with the exception that if they aren't truthful there, my concern is where else were they not truthful. Are they really Miami-Dade certified? Why would it take them 3-4 days to do the work rather than a single day with a good crew? For a star rating, I would give the product 4 stars (only because they lauded it as a one-of-a-kind product and came to find out that isn't the case at all). The sales pitch was good but overpriced. I believe you always get what you pay so when you are cheap, it's cheap work. When you are overpriced, you are overpriced. I don't believe their pricing commensurate with their product. Because of that, I would give that part of the deal 2 stars. Because they weren't completely truthful during the presentation, I would give that a 1 star. So overall, my rating, based on that is 2.33 stars rounded to 2. I believe I have offered a thorough and unbiased review of the sales call and my opinions of the company are based on that interaction.

Windows
After purchasing windows and siding and a roof from Erie construction in Port Huron Michigan . They suddenly vanished from the area . The windows are truly junk . Supposed to be this wonderful windows only to have windows leak and fog up inside so you can't see out of them and other windows that don't open without a jack hammer , I seen a add for Erie new roof products I called to see if it was the same company . It is and I told them about my window issues and they said that they can send someone out to fix them but it will cost me to have a repair person to come out $150 just to look at the problems and another $65 to fix each one . So basically they know there products are junk but want to charge me again for there junk . I do not recommend anyone to do business with them . Buyer be ware .
We received a roofing quote for our home from Erie Home in an undisclosed location
We received a roofing quote for our home from Erie Home. They visited on May 19th, and we signed a contract after securing a substantial discount: from $57,000 to $44,000. Our home is a ranch with two garages. On May 24th, we opted to cancel upon realizing the interest would exceed $26,000 over 15 years, despite our $5,000 deposit on the $39,000 financed amount. With credit scores over 800 and being in our 70s, we declined a further $4,000 discount when we couldn't secure better financing. The cancellation was accepted, and we were promised a refund within 3-5 business days starting May 25th. As of June 3rd, we've received no refund or updates, despite assurances from a representative named '***' who promised to investigate and follow up with us.

I had a roof installed last year and was offered a rebate because part of the roof could not have the metal installed because of the slope. I have the documents for the rebate and have talked to the company multiple times to no avail. I still have not gotten my rebate. They now say they got a new computer system and have not been able to verify the rebate.
Signed contract 12/27/22 with three days to withdraw in writing. Withdrew 12/28/22 in writing via telegram and registered mail. On 1/5/23 company nonetheless cashed the 10% deposit check.
I am filing a complaint because as a consequence when trying to install gutter guards, I was told that it the "worst job they had ever seen". The install could not be done. I called the city inspector and was informed of a no permit situation, terrible workmanship and virtually an accelerated failure would occur.I was referred to a certified roofing inspector who came over and received a 47 page report, with pictures, of findings describing total failure.
Erie put a new roof on our home at the end of April 2022. They have been out several times for repairs and now it's leaking and they state is not their issue or because of anything they have done. It wasn't leaking before the new roof and after spending $50,000, it's leading and has been a battle from the start of this project. Subcontractors that put on our roof, did a horrible job, very rude, careless and left a huge mess. Erie just keeps telling us that they no longer work for them. But our home is still suffering because of them and Erie refuses to make it right. The Installation Manager never returns calls, gives us the run around and tries to put blame any where but in the poor job they did. Not sure how many more band aids my roof can handle. Very sad that they continue to refuse to make things right. I guess the next step is to contact a lawyer. After giving them 9 months, I can't watch my home be destroyed anymore.
I noticed my roof was leaking and I remembered I seen an ad online about Erie giving away free roofs to advertise their product
I noticed my roof was leaking and I remembered I seen an ad online about Erie giving away free roofs to advertise their product. When the sales person came to my house on Saturday 3/12/2022, the first question he asked me was how I found out about the company, I told him that I seen Erie's about a free roof and he apologized and said they don't give out free roofs. Then he asked my husband and I if we knew much about roofs and we said no. We asked his if he could inspect our roof. He looked into our attic and he and recommended we get a new roof. He measured our house and said he gets his qoute amount by using a tool online called Homewise that finds the adverage amount that people in the area pay to replace their roof and bases the estimate on that. He came up with the $38,000 to get our roof done and since he used that "online tool" we believed that was the adverage, but it still was to high for us. He offered their sale their company was having, which was 60 percent off of labor and he said it would take $3,800 off of the total. by this time he was at our house for 4 hours and my children were getting inpatient and hungry. Feeling pressured and rushed in need to get it done we quickly signed the paperwork not realising he didn't take the $3,800 off of the amount. He said since we had that leak he was going to put us at the top of the list and it could probably be done the next week. When it was Thursday 3/17/2022, I noticed they didn't call me yet, so I called them and they said they tried to call me and they left me a voicemail. I confrimed that they had the right number, and when I hung up I seenno missed call or voicemail in my call history and felt lied to. I then started to feel like maybe this was a scam. I looked at the paperwork and noticed they didn't take the $3,800 off. So I wanted to cancel the contract, so I called them again on Friday 3/18/2022 and told them I wanted to cancel. They said I would have to pay $6,000 to cancel.

The job was not what I paid for and the company rep. did not come to inspect the job and see if it was done correctly. They miss represented the work that would be done, and the total cost of the work.
This business is a questionable buy. I thought that the exurbanite price and extended guarantee was worth the price. In the first week of October the crew showed up and started working with only a 2 hour notice. Parked the driveway blocking access to the garage, put the wagon in the yard (repairs in the spring), cleaned up after dark, allowed debris to go into Lake Michigan, should I continue? Local crew management was non-existent and un-responsive until it was time to sign off on the project. Now we are within specifications of the guarantee for the warranty and the shingles are tearing off. I have reported prior to sign off that the shingles where not stuck down and the installer group assured me that this would happen. The shingles continue to be loose and slap. This is irrigating at best while trying to sleep. We built this home in 2002 and the original shingles had two or three small pieces we had lost in 20 years. If you are considering a new roof, you are better off to roll the dice with standard shingles from the local yard and installer. The expertise of crew, install, and quality off material is WAY OVERSOLD and price does not warrant the cost differential of 300 to 400% above local pricing. Still waiting on Erie to address. We financed through Erie and are scheduled to make our first payment in January, project results didn't even get to payment stage of completion.
We had a roof and a rolled roof installed by Erie Construction in May to the tune of $18,000,00. Every item Erie installs is included in the warranty, as per the paperwork we received. We have had several leaks since install that we did not have prior. Leaks in the foyer and living room area. We also get snow and ice in our attic every time it snows. I was told that this is "normal". What a joke! Erie does not respond to my messages I leave. When they have responded, they send someone out to only point the blame somewhere else. They do not take ownership of their poor workmanship. The last person to come out was ***. He shared with us that the snow in my attic was not normal and they would be out to fix that problem over the next couple of days. That was 3 weeks ago! *** said that *** would be calling. Never received a call. We have had 2 other roofers out to assess our issues and they both say the same thing...poor workmanship and that we got ripped off! PLEASE do not hire this company to do any work for you. They talk a big game and do not deliver. They are unresponsive when you do have a problem and do not stay true to their word. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

On March 18, 2022 we had a roof installed by the Albany branch of Erie Const.. Prior we were subjected to a heavy pressure sell "If you decide not to sign today, the deal goes with us." We did like the ice shield offered and the supposed roof shingle quality. My point here: if the product is so quality, why the hard sell and the games? Ok, we paid for a premium roof. After the signing, we had two other bidders come for comparison. Your "deal" was $5000.00 more. We were told not to share the offer, hahaha, no chance! The roofers came, spread tarps and were done in a day. Job complete at 7pm. Dusk. The next day I picked up a cereal bowl full of nails, shingle pieces, metal, and plastic strips. (first frustration) And I noticed a large chunk of broken gutter. I called the project manager. He said he would send someone out. A van pulled in, no one came to the door, a man walked around for maybe 5 minutes with a grabber and a bag and left.(2nd) I called the project manager. He claimed the man could not find any gutter damage. (I have a photo) I let P.M. know the man never announced himself. P.M. said, " I will have someone out by the end of the week to repair gutter." Never happened. Never heard back from P.M. (3rd) In the meantime, I have picked up another quart bag of nails, plastic, shingles, etc. (4th) and I found that the cap to our wood stove is knocked off. (5th) Lawn was ripped up (6th) I called our salesperson. Asked for a refund. Six weeks after the roofing job, I signed a paper for a $159.00 refund. Better than nothing. Salesperson knows of the chimney cap. He has verified that it was intact when they did the photo shoot prior to the roofing job. In the meantime, rain and a bird have come in! This was a high pressure sale for a premium product. However I am not getting premium follow-up. FYI-In the meantime, we have had two other house projects started and their issues resolved. No recommendations for this package deal from this home owner.

On August 8, 2022, we signed a contract with Erie Construction and paid our deposit for a new roof. We went with them not because they were the cheapest, but we were impressed by the sale persons professionalism and knowledge of the product. Our job was started on September 1st, and it was anything but professional. I was told they don't subcontract which was a lie! The people who came to our home were disrespectful of me and our home even damaging the lights. We have an 8-10 car driveway that was left for them to use but they parked on our grass and was rude when i asked them to move the vehicle. After completion of the job, they did not clean up behind themselves which we were also told would occur. We were told we would get a walk around to ensure the job was correct before signing off that did not happen and when I asked the project manager, he said that was unreasonable to expect they could do that for every job. when we voiced all of our concerns, we were given as amended contract for a rebate which we were told we would receive within 14-21 days as of November 1, 2022, we still have not received our rebate and calls and emails regarding the status have been ignored by Erie. After the agreement on the September 6th, the dumpster was removed approximately a week later, and they damaged our driveway in the process we sent pictures and called to let them know this has never been addressed by Erie. The sales pitch was amazing, but they did not deliver what they sold us. Beyond disappointed!
I hired a reconstruction to put a new roof on my home Earlier this year. The main concern was Spa leaks around the chimney area the flashing. I told them I didn't ever want to deal with this again they assured me I would not. Within a few months water damage around this area got very bad parts of the ceiling have been falling in I am reported this to Erie construction in August They assured me they would pay for all the damage and make sure it was fixed properly once and for all. They sent somebody out to check it when I was not home but the wind had blown the covering of the flashing off of the chimney and around that area it broke big bricks in the process And I was told that this was my problem not theirs by the person who could be sent out. I have tried to contact every construction many times since then as I have pictures of this chimney in the area and any damage that was done was done by them during the installation. The person who I signed the contract with and who told me I would never have to worry about that part of the roof again had gone up on the roof he had checked it all out he took pictures if there were problems at that point he would have said so. At this point I don't know what to do I can't get the people at area construction who claimed to have a Triple A plus plus plus plus rating from you guys to return calls or anything. I just want the problem fixed once and for all as I was promised initially I don't want any more of these people they send out to tell me it's my fault in my responsibility. And I want them to make good under promise that they would take care of this and pay for all of these costs on their own. What do you suggest I do.
I signed a contract with this company on 10/26/2022 and paid a $3,000 deposit. I mailed my Notice of Cancellation by 10/31/2022, which was the last day allowed per the contract. I have the *** tracking number for this package and confirmation of delivery. The contract stated that I would receive my refunded deposit within 10 days following receipt of the cancellation notice. As of 11/22/2022, I have not received any refund for my $3,000 deposit.
For the last month and continuing each and every day, I receive multiple system generated spam emails on behalf of Erie Metal Roofs and Erie Roofing. These emails are in the form of spam. Apparently Erie Roofing must be using a marketing company that uses spam to try and temp people to press a link inside the email. The emails all come with various bogus "from" addresses, however, the body of the email always has a message from Erie Roofing prompting you to press the link to Erie Roofing. I am not, and never have been, a customer of Erie Roofing. Unfortunately, my email must have somehow been obtained and, as such, Erie Roofing must have contracted with a spammer to flood customers like me with deceptive emails that are disguised with phony address in the hopes that the recipient unknowingly will press the link to their company. These bogus emails continue non-stop and I wish this company would stop contacting me and stop spamming the public. Even if I needed any kind of roofing work, I would never use Erie Roofing because of their shady business practices. Maybe the Complaintsboard.com can get them to stop spamming people.
Summer of 2021
Summer of 2021...after failed attempts to start project...Erie came started tear off and abandoned my house for 2 weeks... still not done with my roofing project on a standard sized cape cod house with no dormers. Damaged downspouts...extra large dumpster left in driveway...materials misordered and overlooked...changed original plans from tear off to roof over despite several problems with original roof now charging more than original quote to complete. Left numerous messages of concerns and complaints. Photos of how my house was left sitting..in rain storms while products were located. So frustrated and heartsick with this. Promises to do repairs in the spring have been denied as *** of the company reports he has gone above and beyond with Erie to fulfill the contract. My new gutters and downspouts are damaged including the Leaf Filters I had installed the previous year. I now have ice hanging from gutters and dripping on walk ways resulting in my fall and injuries of fractured tailbone and ribs. Shingles bumping up instead of laying flat because of improper installation. Photos and concerns expressed to the company and *** throughout the winter were met only with words that it will be addressed in spring. This is how the left my house..damaged and compromised. They have belittled me repeatedly, as my home does not matter nor do I. The trauma they created has emotionally scarred me as I look at the damages left behind every day. Erie is very upset about this post and all the pictures of what the did. They have no sent a lawyer to send me mail that Erie has done their job to satisfaction and are no issues to be addressed! The run off from the gutters caused ice on my walk way. So a snowy wet day I fell because of the issues. I have no a broken tailbone...fractured ribs and bruised pelvis. For 6 weeks I have been in pain...and Erie Home along with *** look the other way and won't follow up in the third contract they made.

A representative from this business in *** came to my home to conduct a roof inspection and to provide an estimate for roof replacement. The rep spent one hour doing an inspection and taking photos. He then spent one hour showing me photos and conducting his "sales pitch". After two hours of time, I had other appointments to attend to. At that time, the rep said he would send me the photos and an estimate for the roof replacement. This morning I received a call from their headquarters wanting to set a time for a followup appointment to go over an estimate. I asked if they could send the estimate and photos electronically. I was informed that this company does not provide any electronic or hard copy documentation of their estimate or inspection results. They stated that they would only provide the estimate verbally in person. I fail to understand how a company can provide an oral estimate and the consumer ever document any discrepancy in the work performed.
Erie came out on 9/26 to give me an estimate on my roof. We liked what we heard and signed a contract and put down $15,000. After a lot of thought we decided not to go through with the roof but instead cancel the job and instead sell the house and move out of state. After reading the contract it said I had 3 days to cancel. According to the contract I had to send a letter or a telegram to the corporate office by midnight 9/29 which I did and got a signature from their home office. The contract also states I would receive my deposit of $15,000 within 10 days. I have called the *** office and their *** offices everyday and finally got through to a *** who said it was a mixup and the check is on its way but could not supply me with a *** tracking number or when the check would arrive. I followed their rules or cancel I would expect them to do the same. Sincerely
I signed a contract with Erie Construction for a roof and wrote a check for a $1,000 deposit but cancelled within the allowed time period by *** on 09/04/2022. (***) Since then I have tried to contact them by mail through a correspondence which required a signature; it was ignored. The Post Office never sent confirmation that it was received. Also, I contacted the company on *** but my messages were sent to mailer demon. It is long past the date that my money should have been refunded.
We entered the contract on Sept 26,2022 with Erie Home to add a new roof over the existing roof, removing vents and a fan while plugging the holes. The Sales Rep made promises that the company did not fulfil. We had several issues in the installation. See the attached documents for full disclosure.
We hired Erie Construction to perform a full roof tear off, install new IKO shingles, and tear off and replace the fascia
We hired Erie Construction to perform a full roof tear off, install new IKO shingles, and tear off and replace the fascia. They began work on a Friday and we photo documented the whole process. After they installed the fascia on the east peak we called the foreman over and told him that the look was not acceptable and needed to be fixed. The manager told us they don't normally install fascia so the roofers weren't going to install any more and a handyman would come out to complete the job, but nobody ever showed up. On Saturday the roofers worked until they got to the chimney and realized they needed to build a cricket behind it. On Sunday we had the opportunity to get on the roof and inspect the installation, per Erie's instruction, and we saw nails penetrating through the shingles everywhere. At that point in time we started to do some research into the Manufacturer's installation instructions and Iowa Roofing Code to see how the roof should be installed. Erie did not follow the Manufacturer on shingle course, nail pattern, additional sealant, and overhang of shingles past the drip edge. They did not follow IRC on underlayment, ice/water barrier, drip edge, and starter course. On Monday we showed the installer the nails penetrating through the shingles, and he swore at us and said that he wasn't going to install any more shingles on our roof, so he had his crew pack everything up and they left. We sat down with Erie to discuss their poor and incomplete installation and they told us that they do not have to install per Manufacturer instructions and that they are installing per code (both lies). They also said that because it does not meet their standards they will tear it off and replace the roof but we do not want that because they're incompetent. They tried to have us sign a settlement agreement that releases them of all liability but our home has been open for 3 weeks so we will not sign that. We have no gutters, no fascia, and a tarp on our roof.

April 4th 2022 a new fiberglass shingled roof was installed
April 4th 2022 a new fiberglass shingled roof was installed. I later got an installer to put up new gutter guards and he informed us of the soft spots on our roof. Erie has came and walked the roof and was told once before we would have soft spots on our roof. We live in a modular home with permanent foundation. Now we are told there is no soft spots. A code official came and done a visual only from the ground and said no soft spots just high and low spots. What! The Erie manager came here on the day the inspector from codes came and he walked the roof, not cool since I am having an issues with them. I have a lot of emails from the company that financed the loan for the roof. Which is $24,136.00. Husband was declined to get financed for the loan but I was approved. They ask him to sign the roof job was complete and were satisfied, not the person whom loan is financed for. I ask for a list of materials that was ordered and have not gotten and the company Beacon declined my request for that list. It states on their site home owners would be gone over the materials list when delivered to ensure ALL materials were delivered, that did not happen, nor did the installers when they arrived to install new roof. We ask for pictures to be taken during the old roof removal to see damage we knew was there from last bad install. We have not been given those either but told if it is not in the contract we do not do it. Salesman no matter what he told us would not be done cause it was not in contract. They are taking giving us 10 days from receiving their debt collection letters one signed for and one not, to make sure I got the letters. Now to me high and low spots are signs of damage and if they did not intend to fix that damaged areas then why order 1" decking and my husband seen them put decking in their work van. That is another reason why I wanted that list to see what I was being charged for that they took but we are still being charged for. I have more no room here.

We called Erie home because we had a leak in our family room (Addition)
We called Erie home because we had a leak in our family room (Addition). We scheduled a sales person to come out for an estimate to replace our whole roof. *** the sales rep that came out on 3/17/22 told us that it was not necessary because our roof looked fairly new. We advised *** that the roof was last replaced in 2008 and there was some bowing. *** went up,Then he came down and told us the problem was only over the family room and that the whole roof did not need replaced. So, we went outside with him to point out certain places on the roof that did not look right he continued to tell us that it was normal. So, we went with what he told us and moved forward with replacing only the section over our family room that he advised that needed replaced. The contractor came on 4/24/22 and did the work. On 4/25/22 it rained like crazy and it was still leaking in our family room. I called Erie and Spoke with *** Install Manager about the issue and they sent the roofer *** back out to our home. *** told us that before he started the job, he saw that the section he was contracted to do did not need replacing and what needed replaced was the rest of the roof but because he was told only to do that section that is what he did. *** let us know he could help by putting a tarp over the roof until we could get this figured out with Erie and Charged me $465.63 . I contacted *** the install manager again about the issue and once again was told not to worry that he would take care of us but we needed to speak to *** the Sales manager about the issue because this was a sales mistake. We spoke to *** and he stated he would get with *** and come up with a resolution. they charged us $13,156.20 and no resolution has been made. when we called *** he said if we did not sign for the work done it will be sent to their legal department and said good day and hung up the phone. Called Corporate no resolution. they committed to fix fixing iss

On 6/3, I gave Erie Construction my verbal consent and $9000 to complete 5 projects for me--new roof, removal of old attic insulation, installation of new insulation, treatment of attic mold and repair of porch ceiling. I also signed a loan for $10, 987. The salesman, ***, verbally agreed that Erie could do all of those projects. He did not fill out the specification sheet while here as I was late for work. Instead he said he would return with the forms in a few days for me to sign. He never returned, I never saw the forms nor signed them. The new roof was completed on 7/13, and I signed satisfaction papers that day because the roof appeared as I expected. They did not complete any of the other work. When I contacted *** the project manager, he said the specification sheet only mentioned the roof not any of the other work I wanted. Thinking it was my mistake somehow, I acquiesed. In Dec. 2021, I hired another contractor to complete the attic work. After that contractor found continued mold, I again (Jan 2022) contacted ***, saying Erie had promised the mold would go away after the new ridge vent was installed. In the process of our emails, I asked for the specification sheet he continually referred to. He was kind enough to email it to me. At that point, I realized that not only had I never seen these 2 papers but the signature on them was not mine. Someone else with Erie had signed my name to specification sheets that had only the roof work on them. At that point, I began looking for a lawyer to represent me. The lawyer suggested I would need to have the signature verified as false. I hired a professional handwriting consultant and received the report late June 2022. The report states unequivocally that the signature on the Erie forms is NOT mine. I am now considering a lawsuit. I want the entire $19, 987 back, as I would never have agreed to or signed the specification sheet had I seen it did not cover all the work I wanted done.

We hired Eerie roofing to tear off our old roof and replace it
We hired Eerie roofing to tear off our old roof and replace it. We informed the salesperson that there was more than one layer and we were pretty sure the underlayment needed replacement. The salesperson told us not to worry about it, and if the underlayment (plywood) was damaged that the crew would replace all underlayment with new wood, at the company's cost. He told us that his boss would make the first financing payment and that payment on our loan would not be due until 90 days after completion of our project. Eerie sent their crew out out 2/2022. None of the crew spoke English and had to communicate with my wife via Google translate. They needed an outlet to plug tools into, but the request didn't translate well and asked for a flashlight. After much signing and gesturing, she finally figured out he needed an outlet and climbed over a large amount of roofing debris to plug in their air compressor. She was concerned about the fact that there was no new plywood and they were clearly tearing off all the old plywood, but couldn't communicate it to them due to the language barrier. They finished roofing in 3 days. There are now large gaps in all areas where the siding meets the roof. We are NOT pleased. Eerie contacted us to sign the completion paperwork repeatedly by phone and email. I told them by phone and email that I am not satisfied with the job that was done. They basically bullied us into signing with the 'promise' they'd be back to finish. It's March 30th, they still haven't returned. We have cleaned up 2 1/2 quart bags of nails from around our home. We have filled 4-13 gallon bags with roofing debris left behind. They swept a lot of debris under our front deck. The worst part is the water damage occurring to my home because of the gaps. We have reached out multiple times. We were contacted 2 weeks ago saying they would be here to make repairs-nobody showed up. We are already paying on the loan and were charged 2-3x the price the Amish would have charged.

I have not received follow up from the company about my roof
I have not received follow up from the company about my roof. On 2/2 two sales representatives came to my house to discuss a new roof, they were there for about 3 hours looking at my roof, inspecting the attic and discussing there products and there services. They asked what I would be comfortable paying monthly and I discussed with them approximately $250, at this time they stated the payment's would be around $350. I was not comfortable with that amount and the sales rep asked what was stopping me from saying yes today, I stated money, he discussed this with his boss outside on the phone and my husband had left the room, when he came back he said he got approved for no money down with the amount agreed upon but then asked for a down payment and said it would look better with the bank. I did not give a down payment at this time as I felt uncomfortable with it. On 2/6 we received a text from the sales rep stating we were approved for financing and should be receiving an email, I continued checking my email which I never received. On 2/6 I called the main office and left a message asking someone to return my call which I never received. On 2/9 I called the main office again and spoke to another sales rep who stated that sometimes the email does not go through and he would contact the bank and have my loan documents overnighted to me. He took my name and phone number guaranteeing he would call me back. I never received a phone call. On 2/13 we received a phone call from one of the reps stating they received our loan documents and could come to our house to have them signed. At this point I contacted the original sales rep and stated I was not going to continue to work with this company as there customer service in my opinion is less than par. He attempted to bully me into continuing to work with the company giving me excuse after excuse. He stated that I have to allow them to put a roof on my home legally and threatened to have corporate contact me at which time I stated that was fine and to have them call me. It is now 2/17 and I still have not received a phone call. This is not the kind of service I expect when agreeing to spend $20,000.00 with a company. I have contacted an attorney at this time and will not continue dealing with this company, they are very unprofessional in my opinion and do not look out for their customers. They guarantee great work and great products with continued support through the process, but fall short of expectation.

The problem is the product that he showed us is completely different from what was delivered. His sample was thicker and heavier and when rubbed the grit remained in place. I stressed I didn't like the grit coming off and getting in the gutters and rain sprouts. He then showed us their fiberglass product which looks as if it came off of an injection mold machine. He stated that this is heated at 1800 degrees and that nothing comes off. A thick piece of molded fiberglass and nothing but rough texture. No grit. Thinking that each sheet comes off an injection mold machine, I can see why it would be so expensive. He then showed us the back of the sample and how they had better tape sces for nailing down the sheets. The ones we got didn't look the same. After talking for 3 hours everything sounded good and we signed the pers.
On 3/3/22, the roofing crew showed up. Then they had to wait for their boss to show up, it was 22 degrees out and snow on the ground and roof. The boss shows up and the subcontractors start to work. They place ripped tarps down around the house and then start ripping off the old roof. I came out later and noticed they left the old ice guard on. They were putting on the drip edge and underlayment. I told the boss they should of put rags in the drain inlets to keep out the debris. I went back in the house and when I came back out, they were taking the shingles up on the roof. The shingles were wrapped in Visqueen so I didn't see them until that day. The shingles were the same as the ones that were already on the house that the crew just removed. I went to the boss and explained that isn't what we agreed to. He asked if they should stop. I told them the roof is bare we can't leave it like that.
I can't take it out on the subcontractors, so I called the salesman. I explained that what was being installed is completely different from the sample we agreed on. I told him that this is to me an asphalt shingle and how the grit was coming off, Now he is stating that when the sun comes out it will keep the grit sticking to the shingle. I told him he should show the customer the product they are receiving and not the a molded fiberglass piece.
I called the installation manager and all I got you was signed the contract and we delivered. But he said maybe the customers rubbed all the grit off the salesman's samples. He asked if the salesman give me a sample. I said no and if he did I would of said not interested and to leave.
Now subcontractors are finished, we do the walk around. There is no damage to the house or windows. Off they go. A few days later, the weather is 60 degrees and I clean the gutters that are full of nails and grit that fills 1/2 of a 5 gal bucket. I took pictures and videos and found 10-12 foot section that can be lifted up and you can see the bottoms of the nails along the roof edge. I then called Erie Roofing and left a message. Two days later the roofing boss shows up and says that is normal. You can do this all around the house. His answer was that the tin behind the gutter should be higher. I said ok go. I also told him that if his crew took off the old ice guard, they should of caught that. The drip edge should not be lifted up an inch and see the bottoms of the nails. It should only flex if nailed to the decking. The shingles will have to be removed and the underlayment ice guard and drip edge to see total damage that needs to be fixed. That is why the roofing boss said the fascia needs to be higher.
I am 67 years old and have some health issues. And should not have to check and clean up. I feel this is a balt and switch deal.
Sincerely,
***, . ***-

We felt bullied into a contract prior to knowing if financing would be acceptable
We felt bullied into a contract prior to knowing if financing would be acceptable. On 2/11 2 salesmen came to our residence to provide an estimate for replacing our roof. The salesmen inspected our roof and then showed us the options offered by the company. The product and services were explained thoroughly. The last part of their pitch was the price. The salesmen quoted one price which was completely unaffordable. The price was immediately lowered. Again, still out of reach for our project budget. The salesmen then asked what our budget was (how much per month would we be willing to pay) which we provided an amount. Then the salesmen stated that they could give us another discount if we signed an advertising consent. The price was then dropped again. The salesman stated that "I don't want you to waste my time, if you aren't interested, just say so. I don't want you to say you will think about it and let us know because we will be following up with you daily to get an answer. My husband stated that we really were not interested in paying that price and that our answer was "No at this time but we will call if we change our minds." The salesman asked "do you agree the product is good? Do you like the company? Is it only the price that is holding you back?" We stated that that was the major issue and again we aren't interest. The salesman said "If I can get the financing to the number we stated, would you consider? That will mean that I will need to go do some work. It will require me to come back out to your home again. Will you at least give me that opportunity?" We reluctantly agreed. He stated that before he could try to secure financing at the price we needed, we would need to sign some paperwork. He reiterated that if we did not sign today, he could not guarantee the price he quoted us. That was a one time discount for signing today. In order to seek financing for the amount quoted we needed to sign the papers. The salesmen stated to "give him at least until Monday to see what he can do" before we made a decision. On Monday, 2/15, we received a call from the office asking if the salesman could return. We agreed but only if the finances were to our agreement. The salesmen returned and advised us that he was not able to get a better deal because our credit rating was not where it needed to be. There was only 1 bank willing to finance and the interest rate was very high. He said "I stretched out the payments as far as I could to fit in a monthly payment of where you needed it. Don't look at the interest you would owe. I'd never ask someone to pay that much. You (meaning me as the loan was only going to be in my name)will just need to pay this amount for 8 months, then you can add your husband and refinance with your bank, and then in 8 more months, get it rolled into your mortgage." I again told him that this was not what we wanted and did not wish to move forward. The salesman then stated "so you would rather have a product that won't have a warranty and will be done poorly. You will have to go through this again in 10 years." Again said I didn't want the product. Then the salesman said "I don't understand, you are the one that called us, spoke with our office manager and wanted me to come back out today" (insinuating we have wasted his time). My husband advised that the office manager called him and asked if the salesman could come back today to discuss the financing." At this point, I was done with the conversation. I again said, I don't want this product. I don't want to discuss any further and am not signing anything further. I left the room. My husband stated that the salesman then packed his belongings and rushed out of the house. We had made it perfectly clear to the company's representative that we no longer wanted to be in contract with them. We were not asked to sign anything further. We stopped payment on a deposit check that we were told we needed to provide on our first visit to be able to secure financing. We are now receiving calls daily saying we owe 15% of the cost as a restock fee
