We were involved in a MVC in November 2022 with one of your clients. He was at fault. He was charged with failure to yield the right of way. We hit the back end of his pickup truck and our vehicle was a total loss. While the pay off of our vehicle was handled pretty quickly, the medical claim has not been settled and we are coming up on a year. We have contacted the person handling the claim, Amanda White (Roanoke, VA ) on numerous occasions. She is not at all helpful when you actually get to speak to her, most of the time she's either out of the office, in a meeting or on vacation. When we do get an answer, she's rude and continually says they are NOT going to settle with us at the amount we think is fair and reasonable. My husband was injured in the crash and sought medical care which we had to pay out of pocket for what Medicare did not cover. Some of those bills were sent to collections because we live on fixed incomes and didn't have the extra to be paying. While these amounts might seem small in comparison to some others, when living on a fixed income its difficult to handle on top of living expenses in todays economy. As of this date, we still have not gotten any answers from Ms. White, other than they are NOT giving us more than $1200 for our trouble. I realize companies are in the business to save money and pay out as little as possible but since this will be an ongoing problem, we feel what we are seeking is very fair. My husband will be having issues with pain probably for life and will still have to seek care for these issues. Your company doesn't seem to care about any of that as long as they get off cheap. This accident caused up a lot of problems, not all medical, which we were also told by Ms. White they were not responsible for. I sent her an email with information about what we originally thought we deserved and she never responded back. When my husband did speak to her one one occasion all she could say was I shouldn't have emailed her because they were not responsible for our inconveniences due to this accident. Really? Your client caused us all these inconveniences because of his negligence. We are not asking for a million dollars, just what we think is fair compensation for all this mess. Actually, what we are willing to accept is far from what should be fair but since your company thinks they don't owe us anything but to pay for these few bills, we didn't see any recourse but to lower the amount we seek. We did consult and attorney and were told unless my husband wants to set up more medical visits and ride this out to the 2 year limit of 11/2024, they cant help us. We just want this settled and cant seem to get anybody to help. Clearly, Ms. White doesn't stay in the office long enough to get things settled.
Desired outcome: I would like the claim settled for the amount we have asked for. $5,000. We asked for $12,000 but were told we were only going to get $1,200.
