Have only had the Euro Pro Steam Cleaner one year and this week it suddenly stopped working. It should last longer than this. Has not been used more than five or six times. What are we supposed to do now. It should be replaced at no cost to us. Model s3101. Not worth the money we paid for it.

the only way to get restitution and keep Shark from earning millions every day from newbies (trusting consumers) is a class action suit.
Dont we just need a certain number of buyers to participate? ARe there any attornies out there that have also been disappointed with the absolutely
FALSE advertising. I just now noticed the example of the shark steam cleaning a picture window.. Did anyone notice that the material attachment that was viewable from the cleaning side was SPOTLESS after cleaning a supposedly dirty picture window?!?! That should have been our first clue. The steam pressure on mine is not like they show on TV also. Any takers or persons who would like to at last get ALL our money back?

The problem with the device is the selection of materials in the basic design. The water is heated to steam and pushed through a plastic nozzel to which the articulated head is snapped onto. The problem is the choice of plastic. The plastic selected is a thermal plastic which is standard for most molded items. The problem is that the melt point of the selected plastic is too low as compared to the known temperature of steam. The super heated water pushes through the nozzel and softens the plastic, pulling pieces down and clogging the exit ports. The solution is simple. Select a plastic with a higher melt point. This is a basic flaw in the design making it defective in material. Since per their one year warranty " If the appliance is found to be defective in material or workmanship, EURO-PRO Operating LLC
will repair or replace it free of charge." just cite the above, (defect is due to the material selected - it can't and will never be able to handle steam) they should replace the unit. Or just take it back to the store for a full refund and wait until they get the message and use the right plastic. It is a good basic design and will work for a good amount of time once they put the right plastic in - just someone did not pay attention in the materials science class when they were getting their engineering degree.

OMG, I am so angry to see so many complaints on these products! So mine was great for about a year and tonight my steam mop stoped giving steam, so I thought maybe it was out of water. I unpluged it and layed it on my table, my 8 year old daughter came walking by just as the moment the thing exploded and started to shoot crazy steam everywhere and on her arm. The steam actually burned my child. I can't believe how unsafe this product is and something needs to be done! I looked at the mop attachment and the plastic part inside the mop is in 2!
I am in the process of calling them and like all of the other posts that I have read, I talked to someone in India and had to leave a message for someone to call me back.

I have a Shark steam floor cleaner, had for about a year. Tried using it one day and it did not steam up at all. Called the company, they wanted a check and to send back for repairs. Husband took apart, the silver looking cylinder was very hot, and smelled a little like burnt plastic. put it back together but still does not work, no steam. I believe the piece does not work for more than about 8 to 16 times. We should all get a refund because this item should be recalled.

I got the navigator and because of all the complaints I refused the delivery and had it returned. I tried to call customer service 7 times for my refund and never got anyone who spoke english. I asked for supervisers 2 times and again you guessed it no english. I still have not got my money back which is $109.00. and all they keep telling me is I will get it in 7-10 days. today they gave me a corporate number which is [protected]. miracle someone who spoke english. so use that number if you have complaints. I will never buy anything from this company again. they do not care and they send all their employment overseas. It is funny when you are ordering it everyone speaks english but when you want to return it or have a problem guess what you get sent to India or someplace. they take the money out of your account before you even get off the phone but when they have to give it back it takes months go figure.

My shark steam mop also exploded with a large pop and leaked oil. I only used it about 12 times over the course of 8 months. I am going to buy a HAAN next time.

So frustrated. My Shark steam mop S3101 exploded and hot steaming water went everywhere. I expected it to last a lot longer than 10 months. After calling several different numbers and getting no response I tried to get help from the Shark website with live chat.Quess what? They gave me the wrong number.Unbelievable Finally I called the corporate number [protected].After 5 attempts I finally got someone that told me to fax them the reciept and personal info and they would contact me back within 48hrs and they then would tell me to cut off the cord and send it in with a check for $9.95 to replace the unit.buyer beware. This product to be a real danger if your using it close to an electric outlet or with a child close by.

I bought my shark steam mop last year and after a few uses, the large head plugged up and no steam would come out. I called the "customer service" line and was told that I'd have to order a new one and I decided against that. I began using the triangular head. After two uses of this head I plugged in the steam mop and began my floors. The steam did build up but the cloth seemed much wetter than it previously had. I completed the kitchen floor and moved to the bathroom, filling the water tank before I moved. I plugged in the steam mop and waited, and waited, and waited for the steam but none came out. Then...with a loud ground fault tripping boom, it blew up. That, sadly, was the end of my mop. I loved how it did the floors but, obiously, the product isn't worth the purchase price. I have also purchased the Shark Multi Purpose cleaner but have yet to try it. I purchased the little hand held steamer a few years ago and use it regularly with no problems. I'm disappointed in the quality of the floor steamer and, having read all the other comments on this page, will probably not replace it.

I also Bought a shark steam pocket mop...LOVED it at first! Thought it was the coolest thing, and encouraged everyone I knew to get one...SADLY mine also stopped steaming! had it 5 mos. used it maybe 10 times. It turns on but no steam and I can smell something burning so I know its fried! ALSO I only used Distilled water in it EVERY single time. So that is not a contributing factor...These def. need recalled. And someone needs to be held accountable! Very upset...These are a fire hazard to say the least!

Both my own and my mother's Shark S3101 models stopped working. We took apart my mother's Steam Mop to look for a possible cause and found a hose disconnected. We reconnected the hose and slid on the metal clasp, and it worked again. But, only momentarily. Haven't opened it up again, but I bet that hose has come loose again. Shoddy product. Poor workmanship. Won't go near another.

I HAVE HAD OUR FOR A YEAR NOW BUT ONLY USED APPROXIMATELY 8 OR 10 TIMES. FOUND IT TO BE A PAIN IN THE NECK HAVING TO WASH STEAMER CLOTH AFTER EVERY USE ALONG WITH THE SEPARATE VACUUMING. GLAD I DIDN'T BUY ANOTHER REFILL PACKAGE FROM EBAY OR WHEREVER. ANYWAY, DECIDED TO PLUG IN & USE FOR A QUICK CLEAN...LIGHTS UP BUT NO STEAM...WEBSITE CHAT WENT BLANK... GLAD I BOUGHT IT FROM KOHL'S WITH A 30% OFF. WHAT A PIECE OF GARBAGE!

I have had my shark steam mop for about a year and a half and I loved it until one day I went to use it and it wasn't creating steam like it should. So I took it back to my sink and I was going to check it out and see if i could see what could be causing the problem when all of a sudden the entire mop end BLEW OFF IN A HUGE SPRAYING BLAST! It's a good thing no one was standing near by and it was pointing where nothing could get damaged, but that's not the point and that was very unacceptable! A product that is already on the marekt should not be having these type of serious issues. What if someone would have been on the wrong end of that blast and would now be seriously hurt by this product. I am now going to call this company and complain and I hope that all the other people that have had the same experience will do the same. Also, we need to call the Better Business Buereu and let them know about this dangerous, and crappy product this comany is selling. Antoher business for us to call is the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

My steamer has just stooped steaming after a year, sadely if this was a British company I would be reporting them to trading standards but alas it is American. One lesson to be learnt here do not buy there products. They are not worth the money you pay for them. I will contact the TV channels in the UK selling these products voicing my conserns about safety and value for money.

My first Shark steam mop died after a year but I loved it when it worked so I thought I might have gotten a lemon...well, now my second one has stopped steaming. It gets hot but no steam is released. It is however, dripping water from somewhere. After reading all of the comments, I agree, no more Shark products.

I have had mine for 6 months and use it every week. No problems. My daughter has had one for 7 months and loves it. It cleans well and is easy to use. **Please note...You MUST use Distilled Water ONLY!
I cannot stress this enough. Bottled drinking water, tap water, and filtered water will cause problems with the machine. You must also REMOVE the mop head after each use, so the steam holes can properly vent and dry out. If you don't ...residue will clog the vents.

The Shark Steam Mop SUCKS! ...and definitely with all capital letters! I've had the mop for approximately 10 months. Suddenly, yesterday, I was cleaning my kitchen floors and the steam stopped producing. I unplugged it to check out the problem. When I pressed the button to release the lower attachment, it came flying off with SCORTCHING steam following behind. My fingers were badly burned (making me drop the entire mop with steam blowing out all over my kitchen). Once the steamed stopped, I was able to find out the problem ( why it stopped steaming and why so much steam was built-up inside of the nozzle). It was because the cheap plastic melted from the HOT steam and closed the holes completely. Therefore, when I hit the release button, all the built-up steam not only made the lower attachment fly off but burned my fingers so bad that, today, I have small blisters between my fingers. DO NOT purchase this product. If anyone knows any good lawyers that will take a case against SHARK, I am planning to file a lawsuit. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I have had my SHARK steamer for almost 2 years and was pleasantly surprised that it was still working since all other SHARK products suck big time. Well its just STOPPED for no reason at all. I had called SHARK for my cordless vacuum once and got help line in INDIA so you know what that means, there is no help there. What the guy suggested I do was ridiculus, so I just trashed it. Now the steamer, and I don't even know if I should call the support or jus trash it. I was hoping to find some answer here.

I own a shark steam mop and have had the same problem with it just stop working. I have found that some of the plastic melts and clogs the flex hose that funnels the steam to mop head. It is easy to remove and clean but you have to do it about every 20 mins or so.

I bought shark steam mop almost a year ago and it just stopped working. I was cleaning the floor and the pumping action of the handle didn't feel quite right. I let it sit for a few minutes and then tried again when it exploded hot water and steam everywhere. The water and steam exploded from the cannister and now that's where the steam is coming from rather than the mop itself. Maybe the steam holes were clogged so the steam had nowhere to go but it was working fine at first and then just stopped and exploded. I was lucky not to be too close to it and that no one in my family was around at the time. After reading all the above complaints I know I'll probably never see a dime but I certainly won't buy a shark again. I'll have my handy husband take it apart and see what's what but now I'm nervous to use it again.

I have had my Shark steamer canister and absolutly loved it til it stopped working--I have had it a couple of years, used it minimal and now I have been using it once a week for the past month and wouldn't you know it it stopped working like all the other folks posted! I am angry to say the least--i use my vacuum 3 times per day 7 days per week and it works fine great deal for 40 bucks ---$200 on the Shark is really making me angry!

Have used my Shark euro Pro once per week for the past month and all of a sudden it is not working--it made a really hot smell while I was using it on baseboards and window sills, I let it cool off to add water, turned it back on to do the floors and it stopped working! I am not a happy camper especially after reading all of the previous posts--i paid $200 for this at wal mart, I paid $40 for my vacuum at wal mart and I use it 3 times a day 7 days a week for my Bissel--better bang for my buck--this sucks!

I recieved a shark steam vac as a present about a year ago. And all of the sudden it stopped steaming. The vac still works but no steam. So now what the hell do I do with it. I guess i'm the proud owner of a useless vac. nice! I'm starting to think that they built this damn thing with some kind of shut off valve inside it. That turns off after a year, cause that seems when it stops working for everyone. What junk don't buy it.

Mine just died! I've had it for just over 2 years. LOVED it. It cleaned up the built up dirt on my vinyl floors and has been wonderful on my new wood floor since it left almost no water behind. So easy, no wringing or dripping mops. But it just exploded. The little tube that carries the water to the mop head came loose and water and steam is now coming out everywhere except the mop head. The whole water holding area is very hot and it smells like electrical fire. I can guess that the warranty is up, no guarantees, etc. Should I even bother? Probably not.
Now, what do I replace it with? Hardwood floors everywhere. After reading everything, I'm thinking I'll stay away from Shark products.

The problem is the hose delivering the steam to the head gets clogged. This causes a back up of steam in the canister and the machines "blow up". I take the head off and stick a wire into the hose up into the canister to make sure it is not clogged before I turned it on. I've had this same problem with all steam type cleaning machines I've ever owned.

My MV2010C0 Shark Vac-Then-Steam, like other models described, "blew up" 15 months after purchase and only limited use. I wish I had known about the clogged steam head problem or had been advised to do some type of preventive maintenance by SHARK. A product should last much longer and the company should compensate in some way. I will be looking for another steam mop(not SHARK) and doing more research before hand.
