Experian® If I could give 0 stars I would

Hi, I’ve been working to resolve an issue with Experian since 9/13/22. A company I financed a loan with reported my correct address, but my incorrect zip code. I contacted Experian (and the loan company) to fix this issue. The loan company fixed it in 1 phone call. The agent I spoke with under Experian was kind and friendly and said it would take 48-72 hours to resolve. 4 days later, when the issue was still present on my report, I called again. Another friendly agent said they’d help and to wait 48-72 hours. 4 days later, the issue was still present. I spoke with Experian on the phone regarding this same issue on 9/13, 9/14, 9/21, 10/3, 10/18, 10/20, 10/21, and 10/24. Somewhere along the way, an agent deleted my entire correct address. Now, instead of my report reading just an incorrect zip code, it has an address that is not even in the right state anymore. I’ve spoken to a dozen agents and at least 3 managers, have been promised calls back multiple times (and they never call back), and everytime I ask to speak to a manager they connect me to a different department that says they cannot help me with my issue. At this point, I cannot get approved for a loan, house, or even a savings account because my credit bureau doesn’t match my actual residential address. I cannot get ahold of anyone that will help and I have lost hope. I have no idea how to resolve this issue. Someone please help me.

Experian® Good for Disputes, Not for accuracy

Having the app, it showed a credit score near 800 which was fantastic!
This was after easily disputing a few errors and extremely outdated items on my credit report. The dispute through the app was extremely easy. After a few months my credit score reflected the correction at a 778.
Until 2 months later (app still showing the 778) I went to apply for a signature loan at my credit union. The score came back at a 714 and they pulled from this bureau! That is a HUGE difference! That is a whopping 64 POINT DIFFERANCE! That is huge in the credit world!
Good for disputing and getting info on your report, NOT GOOD for accurate Scores!
You can mail each Credit Bureau and request your accurate score separately than your credit report.
Equifax: PO Box 740256, Atlanta GA 30374
Experian: PO Box 9554, Allen TX, 75013
TransUnion: PO Box 2000, Chester PA,19022
It will take longer -YES- but you will know it's accurate!
Don't forget - FICO scores and models differ from what you are applying for. There are over 12 different FICO SCORE Models and each reflect different scores!
If you stay on top of the accuracy rate of your info that is reported to your score(which this app is good for) you can have a bank or FICO score pulled by most banks, credit unions or your Discover card accurately so you know where you stand for loans and etc.
Make sure they are NOT hard inquiries first, those affect your score greatly too!

Experian® It doesn’t add up

I use Chase Bank and chase bank uses Experian to rate the credit score, pretty much when I go to my online banking my score with Experian is much higher than when I go into my Experian app and it’s significantly lower, just so you have some understand I’m talking about 58 to 60 point difference, it some what was better for a while and then the Experian app decided to drop me 8 points I have done so much research and tried to find out why, no point I couldn’t get down to the bottom of it which is extremely alarming because all I’ve been doing is the right thing t ok grow my credit score, which includes not going over the 10% I’m in the 2% mark, I make my payments as soon as they come up, i planned it all out to build my credit. With credit sesame I was all the way up to 786 now I am down, I literary use my cards once every 2 weeks rotating them just so they don’t get closed down, no skipped payments, im not sure ever why my score drops when it drops. I feel it’s because they want me to sign up for a better plan that I have to pay for. I have no clue, all I know is I’m doing everything and anything I can for my credit to grow and it does but it always drops down. I feel like something is wrong with the system. Also, I’ve noticed when I do not owe anything at all there’s still a balance when I check my credit status and I know for sure I do not owe anything, so the system is not 100% perfect but it could effect my future so naturally it always leaves me worried.

Experian® CharlesGus’s review has the correct idea!

I agree with CharlesGus: shame on you (Experian) for charging citizens a significantly high monthly fee for something that costs your company $0 to do. Let your customers click a button to protect themselves from hackers and identity thieves who are becoming more and more of an issue every day that passes. But no, we have to pay up our hard earned money just to be able to click that simple “Lock Credit File” button.

Your company’s response to CharlesGus’s review doesn’t solve the issue, rather it demonstrates your company’s unwillingness to help the people out when it clearly is in a position to be of huge service… essentially a “protector” of the people. So many people in the U.S. just can’t afford the extra monthly charges you’re asking for in order to provide that extra layer of security everyone deserves…Whoever is in charge, please consider offering a “pay-as-much-as-you-see-fit-to-use” Lock function on everyone’s credit files through the app.

Implement that idea or something similar, and you’re app as well as your company will get an updated 5 out of 5 stars from me for doing what’s right & just instead of continuing to charge “greed-fees” for something that should be offered near-freely to assist in keeping the public safe from scammers, credit card thieves and identity theft criminals.

The app itself is clunky and alerts aren’t easily navigable. Still, it is nice to see everything in one place (within one app) versus logging into the website and seeing account information in a web browser’s format.

Experian® Always faulty app and website

The app, even in its earlier iOS, doesn’t work. The actual Experian website disconnects from my Connected Accounts every week, literally. I try to reconnect but the website keeps goin in circles not connecting. Very frustrating since all this affects MY credit score cause they claim they can’t keep track of my account(s) cause they keep disconnecting, however, I’m not responsible but will be punished with my next credit score. Seem fair? Experian needs to fix their main website as well as their app. With all that money you’d think they could afford to have their operating system working properly so their customers don’t get negatively affected by their credit scores. For people who have been rebuilding credit for many years, it’s maddening when the score goes down, especially when it’s Experian’s fault. I even have their “yearly protection” subscription to watch for my info being used on the dark web, etc etc, and yet I still get my credit score lowered because experian’s website has too many technical problems to work accurately. And, even if my accounts do connect again to Experian’s watchful eye, they will disconnect, for whatever reason, within a week’s time, not because of anything I’ve done, it just disconnects. I don’t feel safe having my credit behavior analyzed by this company but have no choice so this significantly decreases my ability to rent a home, a car or get an emergency loan, amongst other things. Also interesting how my other 2 main credit scores are at least 60-79 points higher than Experian’s score, but hey, who’s counting?

Experian® Terrible customer service !

I love that I was able to look into my reports and I was able to catch some irregularities that didn’t show up on my credit karma “hard inquiries” with Experian I was made aware that someone did get my information and tried to file an SAB loan under my name…thank god I was able to catch this and lock my credit with Experian!
But here’s the thing that made me want to only give one star….I have been calling Experian for days since I found out about the identity theft, trying to get through to a specialist/representative/agent to give me a little more insight about one other discrepancy and to remove the hard inquiry that was fraudulently put on my report by someone pretending to be me!
When I tell you they’re answering system hung up on me more times than I can count…I really mean that…and I had to walk away each time because I don’t have the time to waste calling repeatedly and it literally effects my sanity….talking to an automatic answering system when it comes to something so personal and so important….people should be handling people….I should be able to talk to a person…
Terrible customer service!
Absolutely horrible customer service!
Horrendous customer service!
You can’t even send in an email if you wanted too…
You can’t get through to an agent and I really have needed to speak to one about getting this off my report….
Its tragic how easily it is to hurt your credit and how hard they make it to build or get anything off of it…especially by imposters who have stolen information to be someone that they aren’t!
There just has to be a better way to assist customers that are dealing with identity theft!
& I emphasize that! Because it should never be this hard!

Experian® Who created this criteria of credit worthiness during a pandemic?

Must be one cold-hearted A.H.

My family lost jobs and got furloughed so we had no choice but to use credit cards to survive. Whoever created this criteria to screen and filter out what the rich would call the “bottom-dwellers” like me and my family to be judged and be denied of housing, employment, loan applications and student loans. All for the glory of financial institutions that glorify corporate America while the low-income gets poorer and the desolate become even more deprived. America at its finest best! And how can an ordinary student, an immigrant and minority fare against those who were born here, how can we even afford a decent apartment or put a safe roof over our heads? I was repetitively denied from job applications, leasing offices, and even car loans. So I am left with nothing. And when I sought the help of a debt consolidator to afford the monthly payments? 200 points believe it or not was deducted from my 700 score! So cruel isn’t it? Life is and whoever invented this standard of measure, where companies and corporations and leasing offices can cast aspersions and isolate hardworking people even more, all my hard work for 15 years to maintain a good score was not even taken into consideration. And now I’m in the bottom 500’s. The credit bureaus and their criteria of having to label people a lower score is similar to having a caste system where one is not worthy of clean water, services, decent housing or shelter, clothing, medicine and healthcare, a car to commute to work…. My US army vet grandpa would have cried buckets of tears seeing how my “good” life was taken away by a mere score. Thank you Experian for putting a label on human rights and humanity. From the deep-end score of 500 - holder.

Experian® They Hustle you (Avoid this App)

10,000 complaints to the ComplaintsBoard.com in the last 3 years, with over 300 negative reviews and a 1.07/5 rating says it all

When I started the process of fixing my credit, I had a 700 credit score. Shoot even got it up to a 720 with Lexington law. After joining Experian it’s now 650. They actively send you credit card offers in the mail, saying that you’re preapproved and these offers could help increase your credit score. But each one is a hard inquiry and God for bid you actually use the card… they gave over 20,000 in credit in the first 30 days. Then they have the audacity to phrase it on your report that “I’ve been looking for credit, and that should affect my score.” They mail me a new credit card offer every single day and tell me that having more credit will increase my credit score. And most of these credit companies offer deals like 0% APR for the first year or something like that, so that you actually use the card thinking that it’s a good deal. Meanwhile, Experian only sent you those credit card offers so that you get a hard inquiry, taking your score down a couple points, and then utilizing the card because of the incentives also takes your score down quite a bit. It wouldn’t surprise me if Experian paid the credit card companies so that they could rope users into using their service longer. Because they certainly hustle that. There’s no shortage of premium offers and tips on how to boost your credit score. But if you actually fix your credit score you don’t need their service. So how are they incentivize to actually help you? Short answer is they aren’t. They set you up on the one hand telling you that something will help your credit score while that same something simultaneously drops your credit score. They are definitively in collusion with the credit card companies and they scam you.

Experian® Bag of Pain

07/7
No way to get a human for help. Help links directs you to a phone number and every phone menu option directs you back online. Rinse and repeat. No way to access my account, reset credentials and no support.

09/21

Created a new account, credentials accepted and working. Freeze credit. Credentials no longer working. Change password options take you through a long series of screens and questions. Finally get to the page to change the password, and regardless of the passwords provided (each of them meeting the criteria) I get a message stating there is a problem try again.

No way around this so I call the number provided. The app actually has a popup window asking if you want to place a call or cancel, and that button does bot even work. Cancel works, not the place call.

Manually type in the info. Spend an hour trying to get help. 30 minutes in the first person tells me there is nothing he can do and insists I must talk to another department. Philippine call center enter stage right.

Off shore call center a mess. Nothing but "I am sorry sir but" and "in this case sir.."

Massive waste of time and negative value.

-----

You go to Experian.com/freeze.
No button the activate, just a button to subscribe to their news letter...then buttons for iOS and Google apps.

Ok, forced to download the Experian app. Create an account, finally get into the app - guess what? YOU CANT FREEZE YOUR CREDIT FROM THE APP. Nope.

Support call points out the hidden links inside the power point clip art graphic as the main navigation.

You now have to fill out a 1990 style form to freeze the credit, a complete yet-another-registration online to do again. Fine. In. Freeze credit.

Return to the app, and the very credentials used to freeze the credit will not get me back. Tells me to call. Rinse and repeat.

This has been a huge headache and massive waste of time. Experian has put little in the way of effort or priority into this service. Bare minimum.

Experian® Re-building my Credit

I’m so pleased with Experian as they show my credit score and ways That’ll help me to keep allowing my credit score to rise . I fee they show all criteria’s to help me build my credit and areas to not do if I want to receive a lower score which if my credit cards go over the credit that is available to me which is low amounts and very easy to use up quickly and then because of my hardship and my situation that happened the credit card companies impede monthly fees on top of very high Interest rates that go on my monthly statement which isn’t my doing because I’m at my maximum allowance these fees and interest charges make it go over what is allotted to me causing my credit score to drop .. every month I pay over the minimum due and every month although I don’t use the credit card it ends up going over and again drops my credit score . This is a problem and I’m very concerned . I applied for a credit card to re-build my credit and I’m never late on any of them and pay over the minimum but it never fails to once again go over my credit limit. This credit score has negatively effected me and I don’t think it’s very fair regarding my hardship which a dark negative cloud 3 years ago after numerous situations took place beyond my control or even knowledge that this is what was happening to undermine my life in all areas caused me a significant amount of trauma and I was not able to work for 2-1/2 years. Before these chain of horrible events took place , I had excellent credit and almost 800 credit score and I have always been responsible and never did the wrong thing . I don’t understand why a note wasn’t added to my info signifying this as I didn’t claim bankruptcy for being irresponsible and not caring but the trauma was intense and I wasn’t able to work of even function. It was recommended for me to apply for disability but because I’m a strong women I fought for my life and hope again and finally started to work again. Sorry for my long story

Experian® No security and support doesn’t care

When there is issues with the security of your account Experian support says they can’t do anything to help secure your account. They will say sorry we can’t help and say do you have any other questions. And when you ask for advice on how you can increase the security of your account they respond they can’t guarantee the security of your account. That’s not a answer! The questions was how can we secure my account. They say there is nothing we can do to guarantee the security of your account. I never asked for a guarantee of security. I asked for help securing my account. The manager was very condescending and sounded as she didn’t care of the security of my account. I asked if Experian wasn’t secure? She said I didn’t say that. They will not help you secure your account and won’t tell you how they can help secure your account. I asked why she was being rude with me as I wasn’t being rude with her. She said she had better things to do that to help customers like me. I said like me? I’m asking for help securing my account and you are telling me there is nothing you can do and can’t guarantee the security of my account. That’s not helping me. I told her I feel that if I pay for a service I should be able to get some help with my account. Then I asked her if she agreed with that. She responds we are going in circles and that I didn’t like her answers to my questions. I let her know she didn’t answer my questions or provide help and that she just steered my questions to a script. Sounding very robotic.
They provide so support and don’t deliver the promises they tell you about and the employees are very rude and don’t want to be on the phone. I’m canceling my subscription due to the fact that it’s throwing money away just to get nothing they promise. It’s more of a video game than a financial app. You get more protection just by getting your free annual report each year. Why pay $35 a month for a lesser service just to see your score and reports once a month.

Experian® App canceled but still getting billed

The app was canceled last September I think but I was billed in October. I officially canceled my account then. They refunded me for October but I was billed again in November. They couldn’t find a record of the bill but wouldn’t refund my money because their policy only allows one refund per year. They told me I needed to dispute the charge with my bank because they didn’t know where the charge was coming from. I did but I didn’t have a cancellation number so they wouldn’t refund my money. I called Experian again and this person found the cancellation number so I called the bank and gave them the number. I was billed again in December and the bank had already closed the disputed claim because they said they didn’t have the cancellation number and Experian said my account hadn’t been canceled. I was billed again January 25th and called the bank. They said the only way to stop the billing was to cancel my card and order a new one. About a week later the bank called and said they wouldn’t refund my money because they needed a written notification (email) from Experian with the cancellation number. I called Experian again to get them to email a cancellation number and they said they sent me one when I canceled my membership and there was no option to send me another one. The last email I’ve gotten from them was 3 years ago. I asked for a supervisor and he said he just put the cancellation number in an email and I would get it within 24 hrs. That was February 1. I haven’t gotten it yet. I called again on the 5th and went through every possible option on the automated answering system and never got a person. I called the bank again and filed another claim. Got a letter from the bank saying I didn’t give them enough information supporting my claim and Experian said my account wasn’t canceled. I have a new card now so I won’t be billed again but I’m out $50. It used to be a great service but boy have they screwed it up. I am so mad and so frustrated. I wish there was an option for ZERO stars. Don’t subscribe!

Experian® Dropped my GREAT credit score with no debt

I checked my credit score with my bank prior to downloading the app and it was more than a GREAT CREDIT SCORE BEFORE DOWNLOADING THIS APP.

Let’s start by saying I had no debt other than a $1500 left over from car loan which I still had a yr and 1/2 to pay off yet the suggested I did it early and my score will raise. So I purchased the Premium for this app.

I seen my score was a little off from banks and I didn’t worry about it.. then it requested I did a boost and tried to count payments for accounts that were already closed... ? They even have them marked as closed.. something is wrong with the app and I shouldn’t have to suffer through it while I’m paying for the app as well.

EXPERIAN SUGGESTED my score will raise with a NEW CREDIT card. I got one, through one of my banks instead of their suggested and I was approved.. Yet, experian LOWERED MY SCORE a tremendous amount. (I found that odd)
It also SUGGESTED I paid off my debt (an auto loan less than $1500) so I did... and Experian DROPPED MY CREDIT SCORE MORE for paying that off. (Really guys?!? Why would u suggest it then?)
One of my credit cards increased my credit limit $1000 more than what it originally was and Experian doesn’t even count that to raise my score. (Helloo, you lowered my score by 150points for no reason and then you don’t count credit?)
Experian so far has lowered my score 150 points with no derogatory marks other than 1 for the new credit card. This is ridiculous.

I went through the reviews and realized they put all the great reviews in the front and the bad reviews with the information many should know and see before choosing this app are hidden between what people say is “great”.

I suggest people with great scores not get this app because it doesn’t help you; it lowers everything you’ve worked to accomplish in the matter of a month and then doesn’t help you to get it back to where it should be. I am going to cancel my membership and not associate myself with this app if this is how they want to treat people and not fix what they’ve done.

Experian® Building from scratch

I just want to say I thank you so much. You guys have helped me build my credit along with my bank. I am doing with the car credit loan, but I’m paying money into myself so I can boost my credit as well. The car that was on my credit was not mine it was market ex Deontez, but because she told him we were married they allowed her to put my name on the title and the loan. To my surprise 13 years later, they tried to run it again, but one person bought it and then it came off my credit now you guys have helped me get it off. I’ve been fighting the car loan place for years. Finally it has been off my credit now I can start building new. I was at 6:37 now I’m at 568 so I hope from now on since I’m able to see everything I can start building my credit, I would love to get my house with my credit been good. I am new to buy my own house, so this is a big learning experience, which I will tell my kids as well. I will teach them proper. My dad told us we’re a little to watch our credit and we didn’t. So now we have learned. Our lesson is the hard way, but with the help of you guys in the credit booster, I will be able to finally build my credit. Give me a four bedroom house, which I plan to build myself and I’ve won’t ever have to pay anything other than property tax. I have been in the construction business I know how to lay concrete brick plumbing wire conduit’s rewire the meter box awesome how to do roughing all this in the trades I’ve learned on the first job. I picked up within 2 to 3 years. The second job I picked up welding. The third job is the final job and that is I did sewer lines with a company as part time. So my lines are ever blocked are clogged I can actually dig them out and fix them myself. I just want to say thank you guys for helping me build my credit. I ready to have a five star because you guys really help me get this off my record and I thank you I hope you guys can help me boost my score of the future so that way I could buy my land and build my house the way I want it so that way my kids have something to look forward to it won’t ever have to struggle.

Experian® Only review you need to read!

I fix credit for a living. After reading all these reviews I am convinced that most people complain and argue about a service when in reality it’s their lack of knowledge and understanding. But they feel entitled to complain. 1. I do have a pet peeve with experian, the lock, should be free just like it is with equifax and transunion. If you guys have data breaches why do we need to pay for the lock?! Please make it free. 2. To those comparing equifax and transunion scores through Credit Karma and Credit Wise. If you compare the scores from Credit Karma and Experian you are not comparing apples to apples. Credit Karma uses Vantage Scores and Experian uses Fico 8. Fico has 9 versions. Depends what you are applying for you will have a different score. 3. JUST KNOW THAT THE REPORTS THEMSELVES DO NOT HAVE A SCORE, its just the data. In the case of Credit Karma and Credit Wise, another Company Vantage grabs the report and converts it into a number. Vantage has 4 versions. When you go buy a car or a house they use FICO scores not Vantage. Fico means fair issac corporation. 4. Some of these reports update once a month, other update daily. On Credit Karma the Transunion reports updates daily, equifax every 7 days and Experian updates every 30 days. I mean they refresh the scores. But accounts report balances to the bureaus basically the same day each month so the report might just need to refresh. 5. Deleting an app and re-installing it does not make the report refresh. 6. It has been my experience that Experian is the most up to date and accurate reporting agency. 7. Calling Experian sometimes you go no where. It puts you in an endless loop without giving the option to talk to a rep. 8. Credit Bureaus are for profit companies that make money like any other. They get paid by creditors that report and they get paid every time someone runs a report. But they are not responsible for the data. They dont generate it. All they do is hold it. 9. Experian has come a long way as far as this app. They are doing a great job with the educational piece, with the dispute part, giving the fico 8 score for free. Entering the information to manage your money. 10. DO THE BOOST! It is a great tool to bring up your score. If you have a credit union, do not blame experian. Credit Unions are usually not up to date with their computer systems and they might not integrate. Get a real bank. In closing, the one thing that I am bothered by is the Credit Lock. It should be free and because of it I took off 1 star.

Experian® Scam cleverly disguised as a credit helping tool

Like credit reporting agencies themselves, this app is a scam cleverly disguised as a tool to help you increase credit scores. If you’re interested in learning more on how Banks and Credit Reporting Agencies racially profile minorities using algorithms, I suggest you look up “Coded Bias”, a documentary about a talented black computer science student who blew the lid on all of this. Now, on to my review of the app. Experian Boost, although I have several years of rent payments to the same company and with the same bank account, refused to acknowledge the age of the accounts and claimed I needed more time (90 Days) to get a “Boost”. This happened with ALL the accounts, including utility company, car payment company, cell phone company etc etc., not just my rent. Guess what? After the 90 Days were up I received a total of a 6 point Boost for all of these accounts. Mind you, I haven’t missed a bill payment in YEARS, and don’t have a negative mark on my report, keep credit card utilization to around 30% or less, usually pay them off when the bill comes. Yet, I’ve ALWAYS struggled to get my score to 700. It seems like it’s the unattainable Holy-Grail. I paid my car off TWO YEARS ahead of time and guess what?!? I was rewarded for this with a 98 point DEDUCTION on my credit score. Yes, you heard that right, paying a loan off on-time every month and EARLY was a good reason for these agencies to deduct my credit score by almost 100 points. All this app ever did was sell my info to credit card companies so that they can call, text, email, and harass me for “pre-approved” cards and loans, it did NOTHING to help with my score. After contacting support and getting ZERO answers on how Boost wasn’t working, I decided to close my account and remove all my data from their app….and guess what happened?!? An immediate 30 point deduction in my FICO Score! Although they only rewarded me 6 points for MANY accounts in good standing, I was deducted 30 for closing my account. This led me to search on Google for answers as I sensed that Experian, along with others, have shady practices to oppress people. Low and behold, several dozen articles with data showing how banks and credit reporting agencies do indeed practice racially biased reporting and deny people of color loans and fair reporting going back all the way to the days of the GI Bill (1950’s) for soldiers, where they blatantly denied minority soldiers loans and the benefits they were promised. People of color/minorities, I suggest u get your money out of banks, save up your money, and buy assets like real estate that you can then use to progress in life. Banks and Credit are now being leveraged against us as a tool of racism and financial oppression, this app and Experian are an example of that. Don’t give banks your money for them to profit from, and don’t give these people your information for them to profit from it.

Experian® VERY UNHAPPY

I have also been a long time Customer of Experians and I have been on a quest to improve my Credit Score to the highest score available .

I fell onto some serious reductions in my Credit Score and everything else imaginable when I became a sudden Widow . We also owned a long time successful BUSINES so getting back to where I once was had been my top priority . Hence - I asked for Experian to come into my Life and help me to achieve my Goals . I had been quite satisfied until of late when I was about to enter a new higher number and when I went into my Account or should I say TRIED TO - the APP was completely gone and my Credit Score had fallen about 25 points with NO KIND IF NOTICE TO ME ABOUT THE FALLEN SCORE OR THE LOSS OF THE APP -

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I finally was able to get into my Account and saw the Dropped Credit Score ! Why is it NO ONE Notified me ? I have asked at least 3 times as to what has gone wrong with NO personal answer back to me , but was instead left a Generic Forum of possible reasons .

What the HECK ! Experian keeping track for me is imperative and that is what I have been paying Them for is to help me and try it with a Smile and a thankful Attitude while your at it Please !

I am so disappointed and now angry as I feel I have been totally taken advantage of like so many other un Happy Consumers .

Please know Experian that had you been working for me personally through my Business and conducted yourself in the same manner to my High Paying Clients with the lack of Professionalism shown as well as lacking in your Job Description all together than —- you would NO LONGER HAVE A CONTRACT WITH ME nor would you be able to make up for such serious mistakes -

You would receive WALKING PAPERS IMMEDIATELY !

I am sure glad I didn’t go back to the Chevy Dealership for the New SUV I wanted based on the last Credit Score you told me I had ? I would have been mortified and embarrassed at best . Not only had my Score dropped those 25 points but I was completely clueless as to why it had occurred and after doing some searching inside the App and my Account I was still UNABLE to find one logical reason as to why it had dropped ? I had just paid $500 on one Credit Card alone for the monthly payments due and will paying equal amounts on several others so that alone should catapult my Credit Score but still NO MENTION OF THOSE PAYMENTS that are at least tripled on my end -

There has been NO MENTION of this at all to me and how it should have increased my Score NOT decreased it and I suspect this has happened because someone in Experian has dropped the Ball on my Account which had I gone into CHEVROLET this weekend and applied for a new SUV it would have dropped my Score even more .

I learned a great lesson by having NOT looked immediately before going to Chevy and relying on Experian for the latest and most reliable information of which the whole time was. INCORRECT !

You have failed me in the worst possible way for what I have been trying to achieve now over the last YEAR !

I have absolutely nothing left to say to you after today .

Experian® Credit Bureaus are a disgrace to America

I begun answering questions today that would “Simply verify my personal information.” As a business education teacher for 35 years those were the dumbest answers for the questions. You could not choose what you know to be true about your life. I know I would never fill out an application and get my address wrong. I needed an answer like: Not mine, misspelling, or typo. No way. Then my former husband’s name popped up. I clicked the name ‘Frank’ because that was my husband’s name. He has been deceased for two years. Not one answer allowed me to state the truth.

So irrational, what do the supervisors do who work for bureaus. Get together and think up really dumb questions & answers. They must think people have nothing else to do with their lives. I feel so sorry for families out of work, getting kicked out of their homes with children, elderly parents, or 2-3 families living together.

Credit Bureaus should be permanently closed and eventually possibly start up again with new rules and employees. How can they help anyone during these difficult times. Close them permanently.

Experian® Horrible, I can’t even get in

So I downloaded this app thinking it was my first time using it, but according to them it’s not, so I had to get my login info, which wasn’t hard. But everytime I sign in, it tells me to complete my registration info, which I do, but then once I finish that, it takes me back to the screen for me to sign in again, and then I just complete the same process over and over again. Tried contacting the customer service number on the app, but of course you can’t get through to ANYONE and instead you have to listen to a audio recording telling you the exact same thing that already isn’t working. When I tried to change my password again on the customer service line, they were supposed to email me a link to do so, which I have yet to receive. I’m like 95% sure that I’ve never even used this service before (I don’t have ANY emails from them, not even from the past when I search through my old emails) so the fact that I’m even going through this is baffling and the horrible customer service isn’t helping at all. It’s like it’s letting me sign in, but it’s not at the same time and just has me going in circles. Just stupid.

Experian® Why ?????

Yes it is a nice app but needs improvement needs to give more examples and walk you through how to improve your credit and why your credit has dropped or increased doesn’t seem to give enough explanation as to why and I don’t feel that the average consumer gets enough information beans the credit card companies the banks they make up all these different scales as to one record one credit card corporation might only ding you three points another one might ding you eight points it makes no logical sense it’s like going to the grocery store and knowing that 16 ounces equals a pound and then someone says well here’s a pound of flour but it’s only 10 ounces well here’s a pound of grapes but it’s only 15 ounces well here’s a pound of strawberries and that might be 8 ounces I mean it’s a crazy thingAnd then if you do something wrong with your credit they instantly ding your credit score but if you do something right well then it takes about 45 days for them to change it on average but it’s not gonna be instant I think it should be equal 45 days if you do something that helps you 45 days if you do something that hurts you

Experian® App is buggy. Customer service is terrible

Downloaded this app to help improve my credit score. I locked my credit then unlocked it to try to apply for another credit card. Got a notification that the CC company couldn’t run a credit report because my Experian report was locked. It was not locked, I made sure of that. Had to search around for the number to talk to an actual person because the number they provide only gives you automated options. Finally got in the queue to talk to someone, waited 15 minutes and explained to the lady (who was clearly not from the US) and explained the situation to her. She answers with “there’s no lock on your credit,” so had to explain the situation AGAIN to her, which she then proceeds to check if there are any locks on my credit (SERIOUSLY?). As I’m trying to explain AGAIN the situation, the call drops. I get no call back from anyone and waited in line again for 10 minutes (and I’m at work this whole time) and decide to just hang up. PLEASE get better customer service. I don’t care if you outsource but if they can’t understand what I’m trying to explain, there’s a huge disconnect and it only make your customers even more frustrated.

Experian® App will not refresh

I first downloaded this app in September. At that time all my information was correct and my credit score was about what I expected. No surprises.
The problem is that here we are in July and on the dashboard it still has my outdated information. I’ve also pulled up my full report on the app and that information is outdated too. It’s like everything stopped on 9. My score has gone up a lot but I only know that if they send me an alert. Otherwise I can only get information from the past. I’m sure that in the past 2 years at least some of my creditors reported to Experian but you’d never know it by checking the app. I contacted Experian about this a while back by email and received no solution to this problem. Because of my credit score I’m fairly sure that my actual credit report is accurate but it’s far from accurate on the app. Also, there is a problem with the boost feature. I frequently get alerts that my bank is not connected and when I go to reconnect, I’m told there is no problem and that I’m already connected. This app is so full of glitches that for all intents and purposes it’s pretty much worthless.

Experian® This App is terrible

I’ve used Experian app for almost a year and a half now and feb 8,2023 it starts having problems with the boost tool so I disconnect my bank and when I go to reconnect my bank with the boost tool my bank is no longer on the list of banks they work with. Now my credit score has dropped from 693 points to 666 points because my credit card was connected thru it and that’s not including the 8 points for disconnecting the boost elgible payments once it was disconnected they used a credit report that is from November and it has a high balance and has been paid off already but because they update my account every 3 days my score keeps dropping because of the old report I’ve contacted them and they said nothing they can do I just have to wait until next month to see if it will use my march credit card report. The issue I have with waiting is it keeps dropping my score every 3 days by 10-12 points so my credit score is gonna be severely damaged by the time my march report comes out and not to mention if it doesn’t use the march 2023 report it’s going to continue to drop. DO NOT USE EXPERIAN TOOLS OR ASSISTANCE IN BUILDING YOUR CREDIT THRU THE APP.

Experian® Experian is the worst

Experian will lower my credit score for no reason. All my payments are made on time, credit usage will be low, not one thing will be done differently and yet they will lower my score.I will check my score with the other two majors and it will be up but yet experian sees fit to lower it. And they are always recommending that I get a new credit card from one of their partners. But their partners charge an annual fee and interest on all purchases. And their “boost” is a joke the other two majors have my score at a higher level without having a “boost”. They constantly tell me that another credit card may help my score but when I got another card they lowered my score. They more than likely lowered it because the card I got was not from one of their “partners “. One day after emailing them to point out their BS they dropped my score 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This is an update; one day after writing the above review, experian dropped my score by 14 points! Another update; the first time I was critical of experian they dropped my score by 6 points and deleted my boosted account. This occurred the day after sending them a criticizing email.

Experian® HORRIBLE

This app is DANGEROUS for credit. None of your information is safe and this is not a US based company. It forces you to make a membership with them. All I did was check my score once and read some loan offers. Immediately following that I was receiving emails from Experian and from banks saying my loan applications were denied. I NEVER AUTHORIZED AN APPLICATION AND NEVER ONCE APPLIED FOR A FING LOAN. After a few emails I called. Another huge mistake. Over an hour on the phone, I was transferred 7 times to no end. No one would help me and all of them kept saying “it’s not my department”. I was transferred to the same departments over and over. They ask for your social security everytime you are transferred. Absolutely disgusting that business is conducted this way. I asked for a supervisor 4 times. After many transfers back to the same place I finally got a supervisor, who hung up on me 15 seconds into the conversation. All of that stress for nothing, literally no help at all. Called again go deactivate my account. RUN FAR AWAY from this app if you care about your credit! I’ve spent years on mine like many of you, do not let this fraudulent entity take that from you.

Experian® Unfair and Unreasonable

So I just got an email confirming that Experian dropped me 28 points on my credit report. While at the same time the other two credit companies raised my score by 50 and I’m sitting at 797 and 805. The email sent me a link of six reasons why my credit score could have fell checking out the reasons none of which applies to me. I haven’t missed a payment in two years even Experian confirms that.I haven't applied for no mortgage or a new credit card or an increase in my credit limit. My credit utilization has dropped to zero in the past two months. My credit limit hasn’t been decreased or I haven’t closed any credit card in a year. I haven’t experienced a foreclosure or bankruptcy ever. And there’s no in accurate information on my credit unless Experian is creating it as they go. I am very disappointed with Experian because in the past three months my score has gone up about 10 points on Experian and now I was expecting it to follow suit with the other companies and for it to average about 800 when for absolutely no reason it tanked. I know I won’t ever get a reason.Just airing out my frustration with Experian for everybody to know the way they go about averaging out their score is crap.

Experian® Pay to Play App

This app is horrible. You get a very minimal view of your credit profile. Any tools or credit simulators you have to “upgrade” to their $19.99/month service, while the sane tools and simulators are free with Credit Karma. There is also no live customer support number manned by a human being. NEVER PAY FOR A SERVICE THAT DOES NOT HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFFED WITH HUMAN BEINGS. The reason being is that when this app doesn’t work (and it WILL at some point. There is no perfect app free from bugs and glitches at some point) you are stuck with a Q&A forum that doesn’t answer your question or even admit to the problems with their app that you are experiencing...all the while taking your money month over month. RULE OF THUMB...a business should be there to answer your questions in the same way they take your money...instantly! If not, you are a fool. Also, there is very little you can do in this app without being forced to upgrade or take a deal from one of their sponsors. This app is just one huge advertisement for their promotional partners. Get Credit Karma. More functionality, better layout and you get views of two credit agencies (FOR FREE) and not just one credit agency like on this app.

Experian® Customer service is non-existent

For starters, someone hacked my account and changed my login credentials. Don’t know is this was a function of their site or not, but the password I used for this site was unique and not previously used on any other accounts.

When I received the email notifying me my login credentials were changed, I made a number of attempts to contact them via their phone number and via email.

Unless you want to use the phone system to report an issue with your credit, it is useless. After more than an hour and a dozen repeat calls through various paths down their phone trees, I gave up. At no point did I feel anywhere close to speaking with a live operator, which makes them posting their hours of operation nothing more than a cruel irony.

The website is equally useless for similar but different reasons. Despite repeated emails trying to call their attention to the unauthorized change, nothing.

At this point I don’t know why they bother sending the email notifying you about changes to your account, there’s not a damned thing you can do about it once you receive it.

This is one of a few credit monitoring apps I use (used?). My wholehearted recommendation is to stay far far away from this one.

Experian® Review of this site

I can’t access pretty much any information in my file because I’m always stopped by a purchase of upgrade. Where’s the FREE REPORT ONCE A YEAR one can access? I need to let you people know that I have NO CAR LOAN OF ANY KIND because I’ve got my one & only car that used to me my late sister’s before she passed away. That car is long paid for & it was paid in CASH! NO LOAN of any kind was involved.
Additionally, I DID NOT MAKE ANY LATE PAYMENTS! I began working with a company named GLOBAL SOLUTIONS & have been paying into their debt resolution program for over 2 yrs through Bank Of America Direct Pay $375.69 monthly. They were & are responsible to make timely payments on my behalf, but from what it appears, their non timely payments made my credit bad & delinquent - not me! In view of that there must be an elimination of this crazy delinquent charge against me that keeps my scores so low! Please do something about that. I can’t & shouldn’t be punished for something someone else is guilty of & not me! You can call me at [protected] but make sure I know who you are because I only pick up when I know whose calling or leave me a clear & slow message so I’ll be able to return your call. Thank you! Maria A Palo

Experian® Unable to create, log in or contact a single human from Experian

For months and months I have been trying to sign in to my Experian account. After trying dozens of times I never was able. I wrote on social media, they told me to email them, I did. Never received any instructions on how to fix it. I was able to order my Experian report and it had accounts of other family members and there was nothing I could do. Went on their website, tried to set up online account but was unsuccessful. Then they tell you to call the famous [protected]. I would donate all my retirement to an organization if anyone is able to get to a human. Never did. At this point there is a months and months going by and I just keep trying but nothing. Then recently I’m in the market for a home but they are telling me my Experian credit is frozen in which I never requested that to happen. Even though my credit with the 2 other Bureaus is around 760 my Experian is somehow frozen and no where to be found. Finally I sent docs that they request on the bot customer service and still days later no respond no way I can activate, log in or do anything with Experian. If anybody reviews this comments please please please help me. All I want to do is purchase a home and I can’t because there is no one I can talk to. Please
