Availability
I ordered a hard top for my Jeep Wrangler. I was told it was in stock by Josh P. I ordered immediately and was told I would have by late March since it was shipping from California. Today I was told the estimated shipping now was 5/15. Keep in mind I ordered on 15 Feb. They took full payment within minutes. Sounds like they told me what I wanted to hear to make the sell. I am now looking elsewhere and if I find will cancel this order.
Recommendation: Ask for some sort of guarantee or don't pay in full. They have 3 grand plus of mine to use for 3 months or longer.
Unsatisfactory Customer Experience: Damaged Bull Bar and Missing Parts from Extreme Terrain
As an individual in search of the right bull bar for my Tacoma, I scoured through several installation videos on YouTube. Finally, I decided to go with the Barricade 3.5 in. Bull Bar and Extreme Terrain was the vendor of my choice. The installation video by Extreme Terrain was incredibly easy to understand, and this certainly played a vital role in my decision-making.
When I placed my order, I was hoping to receive the product in time for a weekend installation. Fortunately, shipping was prompt and only took three days. However, when the box arrived, I couldn't help but notice that it was worn out and looked faded. The condition of the box gave me an uneasy feeling, as it seemed more like an old, repackaged product. I decided to open the box and inspect the contents.
To my shock and dismay, half the bar was only covered with white wrapping, and there were missing brackets and bolts that were essential for installation. Although the installation hardware was very clearly mentioned in the product description, it was nowhere to be found in the box. This was undoubtedly unacceptable, given the expectations of a customer.
What's more, I noted severe damage to the bar itself, with deep gouges down to the bare metal and scuff marks on one end. The other end of the bar was also deformed. This damage did not appear to be due to shipping as the box seemed to be intact, aside from its old condition.
My suspicion is that I received a bar that was neither new nor in the best condition. Perhaps it was returned by another customer after a failed attempt at installation. I contacted customer service immediately to explain the situation, expressing my concern and desire for a refund.
Why would a reputable vendor like Extreme Terrain ship a product that was so clearly damaged and missing important elements, like installation hardware? This entire ordeal has certainly been a frustrating and disappointing shopping experience.
The following day, I returned the bull bar via RMA, feeling disappointed and let down by my experience with Extreme Terrain.
Disappointed with My Experience at Extreme Terrain: My Review
As a shopper at Extreme Terrain (extremeterrain.com), I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience. While I had purchased from them in the past, my most recent purchase will unfortunately be my last.
I had spent over $2200 on a set of new rims and tires; however, I had some confusion when it came to the website's listing of mounting and balancing services. They indicated that there was an extra charge for this service but I was unable to find how to add it to my cart.
I attempted to contact customer service to clarify this issue and was informed that mounting and balancing was actually free of charge now, despite the outdated website language. Despite this explanation, I still had some trouble placing my order as the tires and rims were shipped separately due to an incorrect order placement on their end.
I called customer service again, only to be told that the Mounting and Balancing options were not properly presented to me during checkout. I even went as far as to document my entire shopping process with screenshots to prove this. While they agreed with my findings, they could only offer me a refund of $15/tire.
I was left feeling frustrated and that the issue with their website was being blamed solely on me. As a customer, I believe that companies need to be responsible for both the products they sell and the technology they use to sell them.
Despite the selection of products and positive reviews that drew me to Extreme Terrain, I sadly won't be able to continue my business with them. It's just too disappointing to have such a frustrating problem overshadow the benefits they could offer me.
Sincerely,
An Unsatisfied Former Customer
Disappointing Experience with extremeterrain.com: False Delivery Promises and Random Suspension of Orders
My shopping experience with extremeterrain.com, unfortunately, did not live up to my expectations. I purchased $275 worth of equipment that was "in stock" for delivery the following Tuesday. However, when Tuesday came and went without any delivery, I became quite concerned. I went back through my emails to retrieve the confirmation and the contact number for status updates. To my dismay, I found that I had received almost eight spam marketing emails from extremeterrain.com, one of which stated that there was a problem with my order and it was suspended until I called them. It wasn't until I spoke to a customer service representative that I was informed that it was part of their "risk management" process to randomly suspend orders.
I find it appalling that a company would randomly suspend customer orders for "risk management" without proper understanding and communication. With a credit score of 768 and a limit of $36K on my card, your company should have no reason to believe that I pose a risk to your business. I had even double-checked with my bank that the approved payment went through so that I could receive the order in time for a Jeep run that I had planned for Thursday. Unfortunately, I had to stay back because of this unfortunate issue. Calling the "issue resolution" team was another trouble in and of itself, as they had already gone for the day, and I had to call back the next day.
I am beyond annoyed that I had to waste my time for something that could have been resolved with a single phone call. Your deceptive delivery promises, along with the suspension of my order, left a sour taste in my mouth. This experience has taught me to beware when doing business with your company. It's a shame because I had hoped to buy from your website in the future, but due to this experience, I will never shop with extremeterrain.com again. I hope that your company can address these issues and come up with a more customer-friendly approach to managing risk in the future.
Unhappy Experience with Extreme Terrain: Delayed Shipment, Incorrect Order, and Inconvenient Return Process
Recently, I purchased a Sherpa Rack from Extreme Terrain's website for my Jeep JK. Upon checking out, I was informed that the rack was in stock and ready to ship. However, I received an email the following week stating that my shipment was delayed due to COVID-19. To appease me for the inconvenience, the company provided me with a $10.00 coupon towards my next purchase. I saw some high-quality off-road lights on their website and decided to order them online. I was glad to receive a tracking number within an hour of my purchase; however, I couldn't help but feel disappointed as my previous in-stock order was still "processing."
After five days, I finally received my order, but to my dismay, I discovered that my "kit" was missing one of the higher quality lights and a wiring kit. Instead, I had received one cheap light valued at $15.00. I wasn't happy with such a mistake, and I contacted customer service for assistance. Although they were apologetic, they informed me that I would need to return the light for a refund. I found myself disheartened by this news as I was required to drive to my office, print out a return label, repackage the light, and then drive to a UPS store, which would take me 30-40 minutes.
Furthermore, I learned that my Sherpa Rack hadn't shipped yet. It left me feeling frustrated and disenchanted. This was my first experience purchasing from Extreme Terrain, and it didn't leave a good impression on me. There were no offers to keep the cheap light that they had mistakenly sent, and instead, I had to return it to receive my paid-for order. I was frustrated that my $600.00 rack could sit in limbo until they received it in stock. After searching for a UPS store nearby, which was 20 minutes away, I decided to cancel my orders altogether. I no longer wanted to do business with them after such an unpleasant experience.
Unfortunately, I now have to wait for 7-10 days for my refund on the Sherpa Rack and another 15-20 days for my refund on the lights because they won't refund until they receive their $15.00 light back. It was disappointing to have lost the money I spent on my previous orders and even more so, the future money I planned to spend with them.
Unreliable and Frustrating: A Review of Extreme Terrain's Business Practices
When it comes to reliable businesses, Extreme Terrain may not be the best choice. While attempting to order from their website, the customer experienced many issues. In particular, a set of steps that were supposed to be for a 4-door Jeep Wrangler JK [protected] turned out to be for a 2-door instead. They had to return the steps in question and drive to a specific location to do so. Unfortunately, this challenge wasn't the end of their troubles. The customer contemplated purchasing another set of steps and chose a pair that should have worked for their specific Jeep model. To their dismay, the steps were only compatible with the 07-13 model of the Jeep. Their website stated otherwise, but once they attempted to install the steps, a Google search of the model number was required to confirm the mistake. This situation was quite frustrating for the customer, and they expressed their dissatisfaction with the customer service. The customer believes that customer service is of utmost importance, but they did not feel valued nor heard. They suggested that they should get an upgraded set of compatible steps or are reimbursed for expenses incurred. Instead, the company offered a $50 credit on their account, which did not improve the situation. As a result of this experience, the customer will not continue to do business with Extreme Terrain. The unhappy customer wants potential Jeep parts shoppers to know that thorough research is necessary before making purchases, and there are better pricing and parts options all over the internet.
Exceptional Products, Service, and Experience: My Review of Extreme Terrain
As a frequent shopper at Extreme Terrain, I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have purchased a wide range of products from them, and every single time I have been impressed with the quality of the products, the timeliness of the deliveries, and the overall experience.
Although some of my most recent purchases were made during the COVID-19 pandemic, Extreme Terrain still managed to provide exceptional service, despite the many challenges facing the industry right now. In fact, their hard-working team has gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that their customers are completely satisfied with every purchase.
I did encounter one small issue with my order when I received a steering stabilizer that had minor cosmetic damage. However, when I contacted the company, they immediately offered to exchange it for a new one. I was so impressed with their customer service that I ended up keeping the item, and they even gave me some decals and a store-credit for half the cost! That's the kind of service that keeps me coming back again and again.
Not only does Extreme Terrain offer exceptional customer service, they also have a wide range of products to suit any budget. From the more affordable options to the high-end, premium items, they have something to suit every need and preference. And when I have ordered from them, my purchases have always arrived in under 2 weeks, which is a testament to their dedication and efficiency.
In short, I highly recommend Extreme Terrain to anyone looking for high-quality products and exceptional customer service. And speaking of service, I think it's important to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in getting our purchases to us during these challenging times. Without the call-center employees, warehouse staff, management team, and shipping companies, we wouldn't be able to indulge our passion for Jeep products. So let's be patient, understanding, and grateful for their hard work and commitment to keeping us moving forward.
Questionable Customer Service with Extreme Terrain: A Review
As an avid off-roader and owner of a hunting and safari business, I have purchased numerous items from Extreme Terrain over the past year. Overall, I've had positive experiences, with the exception of my recent purchase of side step rails for my Jeep. The Red Rock 3" tube steel rails with black powder coating looked great on the driver side after installation, but on the passenger side, one of the bolts would not tighten due to a spinning insert. The installation was already a labor-intensive process, and having to take everything off again to send back both rails and hardware for replacement was not feasible for me.
When I contacted Extreme Terrain to explain the issue and request a replacement of just the defective rail, I was disappointed that they insisted on receiving both rails back for a credit, causing my clients to wait longer for their jeep. As a business owner, I know that customer service is paramount in keeping clients and maintaining a good reputation. Unfortunately, I have had similar experiences with Extreme Terrain in the past, where they have not prioritized service after the sale.
I will make a note to tack weld the rail to the bracket and forego any future business with Extreme Terrain. Any company that doesn't prioritize customer service falls short in my book. As a result, I urge anyone considering doing business with Extreme Terrain to be cautious and do your own research.
Extremeterrain.com: False Promises and Disappointing Compensation - A Cautionary Tale
Ordering car parts during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic can be quite an uphill task, but after calling around for a few days, I found the lift kit I needed at Extreme Terrain (extremeterrain.com). I spoke to Jay, who was quite helpful and informed me they had only one kit in stock at their warehouse. However, Jay made a promise of getting the kit to me by the weekend (Labor Day), which was just perfect considering my weekend was free and I needed the parts by Friday. He put me on hold to verify the stock but returned after a few minutes to say it was still available and could ship between 9-1. I was elated at the news and immediately ordered the kit.
Fast forward to the agreed shipping date, and I received distressing news that the kit would not be able to ship until 9-15, two weeks after the promised date. This development left me in a tight corner as I had to return a borrowed car on Monday without my jeep even being put back together. The other parts I ordered, including shocks and control arms, were expedited and cost an extra $200 in shipping fees just so I could have the complete lift kit shipped to me by Friday as agreed with Extreme Terrain.
However, this was not the case as I received another disappointing piece of news. The kit was not in stock, so I had a jeep torn apart with no lift kit and had to pay an additional $100 more than what the local guy offered. To top it off, they offered a laughable $20 gift card in compensation for the inconvenience I faced, which was nowhere near the extra $200 in shipping costs plus the extra $100 I paid at Extreme Terrain because they supposedly had it in stock.
This experience left me evicted from their app, and I do not plan on shopping there again. I will now be using Quadretec or Amazon for future purchases and advise anyone considering making purchases at Extreme Terrain to be wary. Although I tried canceling my order, I was informed the refund would take a week or more to be processed, and now I am stuck ordering through them but will not do so again in the future. I intend to let everyone I come in contact with know about my harrowing experience with their customer service and disappointing compensation. Instead of cooling the burn like a more reasonable offer would have, their $20 'gift' was fuel to the fire.
Extreme Terrain Review: Deceitful Practices & Unhelpful Customer Service
I recently had a frustrating experience with Extreme Terrain (extremeterrain.com) that left me feeling disappointed and angry with the company. I had ordered some parts for my Jeep JK, only to receive the wrong items. When I contacted their customer service, I was told to refuse the package and that the problem would be fixed. However, when I followed up with the same rep four days later, he had no recollection of our previous conversation and didn't seem to be aware of my situation.
It turns out that Extreme Terrain had recently discontinued the item I had ordered, and they were unable to fulfill my order or offer me a suitable replacement. I felt betrayed by their misleading website, which had shown that the item was in stock and available for purchase. Worse yet, when I asked for a refund, they told me I would have to pay for another similar item out of pocket and then wait for the refused package to arrive before they would issue a refund. This left me out almost $500 and with no hope of ever receiving the item I had originally ordered.
To make matters worse, their customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful throughout the entire process. After being put on hold for long periods of time and passed around between reps, I was left with no resolution to my problem. I felt that Extreme Terrain was incompetent and deceitful in their dealings with me, and I would caution anyone else to avoid doing business with them.
I plan to share my negative experience with others in the Jeep and 4x4 community, through forums and YouTube channels, in hopes of warning others against falling victim to Extreme Terrain's dishonest practices. In conclusion, I believe that Extreme Terrain should be held accountable for their false advertising and mistreatment of their customers.
Extreme Terrain: Frustrating Experience with Suspension Lift Kit Purchase
I recently purchased a new 2.5" suspension lift kit from Extreme Terrain, and unfortunately my experience with this online merchant was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. The kit was shipped directly to my mechanic, but upon receipt he discovered that the box was re-taped and had signs of having been previously opened. To make matters worse, several essential parts were missing from the kit, as well as the installation directions. My mechanic informed me of the issues, and I immediately contacted Extreme Terrain to address the problem.
Initially, I was assured by their customer service representatives that they would reimburse me for the cost of the missing parts, any extra labor my mechanic would need to complete the installation without instructions, and the difference in price between the new suspension kit I had purchased and the used and incomplete kit that was actually sent. I was asked to have my mechanic write a letter detailing the problems with the kit and to go ahead with the installation using the missing parts that he would have to purchase separately.
After submitting the letter and several phone calls, I was only offered a store credit of $49, which was far less than what I had paid for the missing parts and extra labor costs. Extreme Terrain refused to offer any further compensation, so I had no choice but to dispute the purchase with my credit card company. Now, more than two months later, Extreme Terrain has sent me an email asking me to return the parts for a full refund, which is simply not possible as I had already installed them on my vehicle.
Throughout this frustrating experience, communication with the customer service representatives at Extreme Terrain was met with excessive hold times, frequent call disconnections, and a lack of follow-up on their part. This company clearly has a disregard for product quality and customer satisfaction, and their use of drop shipping only adds to the problem. Customers should be cautious when considering doing business with a company that puts profit over integrity.

Disappointing and Frustrating Experience with Extreme Terrain: A Review
As a Jeep owner, I recently made a purchase from Extreme Terrain to replace a window in my 2010 Jeep. Unfortunately, my experience with the company was less than satisfactory. Firstly, I received the incorrect window, which happened to be for the passenger side – rendering it completely unusable. Secondly, the replacement window that I received was the wrong size for my vehicle. Despite it being the recommended part for my Jeep, it did not match the zipper size of the top.
I immediately reached out to the sales representative to resolve the issue. Over an extended period of time, I provided pictures of the zipper, which had an imprinted number that did not match my Jeep. Despite my efforts, I received a less than helpful response from the customer service team, who told me they had never heard of the issue before.
After much back and forth, I ultimately chose to return the product in pristine condition, still in the original box. However, to my dismay, I was informed that the timeline warranty was no longer valid. This was during the coronavirus shut down, and I assumed that the company would honor their guarantee during this time. Unfortunately, they did not, and I was forced to accept the loss of almost $100 for a replacement window.
Overall, my experience with Extreme Terrain was disappointing and frustrating. As a loyal customer, I expected more from the company and their customer service team.
Extreme Frustration with Extreme Terrain: A Disappointing Customer Service Experience
When I decided to order some parts from Extreme Terrain, I was hopeful that I would receive great customer service and quality products. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely frustrating. I called in my order and was disappointed to find that two out of the six items I ordered were wrong and one didn't even arrive. When I notified their representative over the phone, I was told that I would receive a return label for the wrong items and that they would immediately ship my replacement parts. However, this did not happen, and I was left feeling like my concerns were not being taken seriously.
When I followed up about the return labels and the replacement parts, I found out that I would have to actively chase down and correct their mistakes myself. They wanted me to call UPS for a pickup or drop off the incorrect items myself before they would ship my correct order. This was a huge inconvenience, and it was frustrating to feel like I was having to go out of my way to correct Extreme Terrain's mistakes.
Not only was the process of fixing their mistakes burdensome, but it also took time away from other things in my life. I spent hours on hold waiting to speak with someone about my order, and I still wasn't getting the attention I needed. This kind of customer service is simply not acceptable, and it left me feeling like Extreme Terrain cared more about taking my money than ensuring my satisfaction.
In the end, I was left feeling disappointed and frustrated with my entire experience. It's clear that Extreme Terrain could do much better when it comes to customer service, and I would caution anyone considering doing business with them to think twice. To me, it seems like Extreme Terrain doesn't value their customers or their time, and I can't recommend them to anyone.
Extreme Terrain's Misleading Website and Poor Customer Service Experience
I recently had a disappointing and frustrating experience with the Extreme Terrain website. I was interested in purchasing an off road bumper for my vehicle which was listed as a "Special Order" product with a shipping time of 1-2 weeks. However, when I contacted a sales person to confirm if the product was actually in stock, they assured me that they buy several of them so customers don't have to wait for the typical lead times from the manufacturer.
Unfortunately, my experience with Extreme Terrain went downhill from there. After waiting for a significant period of time with no communication about my order, I contacted the website to inquire about the shipment status. It took two days to reach someone, who finally informed me that the product would not be shipped for another 5 weeks because they did not keep it in stock. This contradicted what the sales person had told me earlier. When I questioned why nobody informed me of this or why the website was misleading, they had no response.
To make matters worse, the representatives I spoke with tried to blame the delay on the pandemic, but then switched and said it was due to information from the manufacturer (in Utah). I was frustrated that this information was not communicated to me earlier and even more frustrated that there seemed to be no attempt to remedy the situation. Despite my disappointment, there were no attempts to offer a discount, a gift card, or even a coupon for future purchases. I was also informed that they did not care if I cancelled my order, which was over $2000.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Extreme Terrain and think it would be best to purchase off road bumpers elsewhere. I was left feeling misled, disappointed, and frustrated with the overall experience.

Extreme Terrain Review: Misleading Item, Disorganized Customer Service
When I set out to replace the bumpers on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, I turned to extreme terrain to find the perfect fit. I was thrilled to find a front bumper that I really liked, and it was even listed as an "open box" item that was available at a lower price. Wanting to make sure that everything would be in good working order, I reached out to one of the techs to inquire about the item. The tech assured me that there were no issues with the bumper - all of the parts were fully functional and present. So I went ahead and placed my order.
However, as I began installing the bumpers, I noticed that the front one was muddy in places and starting to rust. While this was a little disappointing, I figured that I could live with it. It wasn't until later that I discovered why the bumper had been returned in the first place: the passenger side fog light was fogging up, and the wiring harness was in disarray, rendering it completely non-functional. I ended up having to wire it to my stock fog light switch just to make it work.
If only I had read the negative reviews of extreme terrain before making my purchase! I spoke with a total of three customer service reps before someone finally advised me to take it to a shop to have it fixed. Looking back, I wish I had never bought anything from this company. But I suppose that we all make mistakes and learn from them in life.
ExtremeTerrain.com Coupon Offer Review: Misleading and Frustrating Experience
ExtremeTerrain.com is a website that offers a wide range of auto parts and accessories for off-road enthusiasts. Recently, the site had a coupon offer that caught my attention. The offer promised a $50 off coupon for purchases made between now and May 17th, which could be applied to a purchase between May 28th and June 4th. The process was simple: spend $200 using the code MAY50 and wait for an email with the coupon. However, my experience with this offer was far from simple.
I spent $230 on May 15th, using the code as instructed, but I never received the promised coupon. My frustration only grew when I called to inquire about the matter. The representative who answered didn't seem to know anything about the offer and kept putting me on hold to ask her supervisor for answers. Eventually, I was informed that there was no coupon to be emailed to me, and to use it, I would have to spend another $200.
The language of the coupon was also confusing to me. "Earn $50 off a $300 coupon" is not very clear, and I was left unsure of the value of my supposed coupon. When I asked the representative about it, she told me that I would need to spend another $200 to earn a coupon that was actually worth $50. The math just didn't add up for me.
I even tried to attach a photo of the coupon to show them what I saw, but I was unable to size it correctly for the website. In the end, I never received my credit, and I was left feeling like the offer was misleading and unclear. Overall, my experience with ExtremeTerrain.com was disappointing, and I hope they will work to improve their communication and follow through with their promises in the future.
Mixed Experience with Extreme Terrain: Helpful Staff but Website Stock Levels Inaccurate
Extreme Terrain is a website that specializes in selling Jeep Wrangler parts and accessories. In my recent experience with this company, I have placed two separate orders and called their "expert enthusiasts" to help me with both orders.
On my first order, I was in the market for a lift kit for my Jeep. The kit I initially wanted was listed as out of stock on the website, so I decided to give them a call to see if there were any available options. The rep was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to discussing lift kit options with me. We spent about 30 minutes on the phone discussing what would work best for my vehicle. He was even able to locate a kit in stock that would work for my vehicle and was ready to ship. However, when I logged into my account a few days later, I found out that my lift kit was not going to be shipped for another 3 weeks, which was not what was originally discussed with the representative. When I reached out to them, I was informed that their website does not always accurately reflect their stock levels, making it hard to cancel or change orders.
On my second order, I needed a specific tire for my Jeep Wrangler and found it listed on the website. Once again, I called the rep to discuss the order so that the correct item was shipped. After the order was placed, I went to bed with the peace of mind that I would receive what I needed. However, the next morning, I checked my account only to find out that the rep had ordered the wrong tire for my vehicle. When I contacted them, they told me it was too late because the order had already been locked.
Although there were some bumps in the road with my experience at Extreme Terrain, I do appreciate the help provided by the representatives. However, the fact that their website does not always accurately reflect stock levels and the inability to make changes or cancel orders easily puts them in a difficult spot. Overall, I found this experience frustrating and inconvenient. It seems that in the age of Amazon and other big-name retailers, a company like this needs to step up their game if they want to stay in the game.
Extreme Terrain Review: Damaged Bumpers and Unacceptable Customer Service
I recently had a disappointing experience with Extreme Terrain (extremeterrain.com), to say the least. Unfortunately, there were numerous issues with my order, leaving me with a poor impression of this company. Firstly, the bumper that I received was damaged, with parts literally falling out of the box upon delivery. To make matters worse, the customer service that I received was completely unacceptable. I felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously and that the business owner had little to no concept of service.
While I had initially hoped to receive a quality product from Extreme Terrain, it quickly became obvious that this was not the case. In fact, I was left with the impression that this company may even be fraudulent, as I struggled to find any redeeming qualities after my poor experience. I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing from this company to do their research first, and take note of the BBB rating before making any decisions.
In short, I found my experience with Extreme Terrain to be incredibly disappointing, and I feel as though this company is not deserving of the title "business." As someone who values quality service and reliable products, I feel saddened to see companies like this taking business away from more reputable companies who deserve it. Overall, I believe that Extreme Terrain needs to make some serious changes if they hope to be successful in the long run.
Extreme Terrain falls short of promised shipping timeline and disappoints with poor customer service
I recently had an experience with Extreme Terrain while ordering bushings for my wife's lifted jeep. Unfortunately, we were unable to find the part we needed locally, so we turned to Extreme Terrain for assistance. The sway in the rear end of the vehicle was too worrisome to drive with, so we paid an extra $40 for one-day shipping on a $16 part. Although I placed my order after the cut-off time on Tuesday to receive it on Wednesday, I was told the part would arrive on Thursday. I was initially pleased with this timeline.
However, when Thursday arrived, we received an update from UPS that the item was tendered to them at 10:45 pm the previous night, which meant we would not receive the part until Friday. This delay meant that our only vehicle was now out of commission for a total of three days. When we contacted Extreme Terrain to request a refund for our one-day shipping fee, we were informed the company could not process the refund until we received our shipment.
What's more, the customer service representative we spoke with tried to shift the blame for the delay onto UPS, claiming that the courier service did not pick up the package in time for it to be delivered within the promised one-day timeframe. However, this excuse did not hold up, as the UPS website clearly stated that the delay was due to the item not being tendered in time.
This experience with Extreme Terrain has left me feeling extremely disappointed, particularly in the company's customer service. I have found it frustrating that their representatives have been unwilling to take responsibility for the delay and have instead attempted to deflect blame. Overall, I believe that the company needs to improve its training and customer service practices to better serve its clients. In hindsight, I wish I had read the reviews of this company prior to placing my order. While I still have yet to receive my parts, I remain hopeful that they will arrive soon.
Frustrating Experience with Extreme Terrain: Misleading Purchases and Delayed Updates
I recently had an experience with Extreme Terrain (extremeterrain.com) that left me feeling quite disappointed. I purchased a tire that I thought was in stock, only to find out that it wasn't available after they had already taken my money. I had to wait three days before they even let me know. When I called to find out when the tire would be available, the time frame given was vague and unhelpful.
Additionally, I ordered a "wheel and tire build kit" which, as the name suggests, should have included both the tire and the wheel purchased together and mounted and ready for installation. However, when I received my order, I only received four tires without the wheels. This was a major letdown, especially given the amount of money I had spent.
Overall, it was not the one-stop-shop experience I had hoped for. Instead, it was a frustrating and headache-inducing experience. I would not recommend purchasing from Extreme Terrain and would caution others to look elsewhere for their off-road needs.
Extreme Terrain Running Boards: A Disappointing Purchase and Customer Service Experience
In September 2019, I made a purchase of running boards from Extreme Terrain for my brand new 2019 Jeep unlimited. Though I installed them myself, it took until the end of October to do so. It is important to note that my Jeep has never been taken off-road and is parked inside a garage when not in use. These running boards were a bit pricier, at around $300, putting them in the mid-range price point.
Fast forward less than a year, and on June 2nd, 2020, I noticed that the paint on one of the boards was bubbling and rusting quite badly. I was surprised, given the amount of time that had elapsed since my purchase and the fact that these boards were hardly subjected to anything extreme. What's more, it was only one section, on one board that was affected, leading me to believe it was likely a defect. I called Extreme Terrain, hoping that they would stand behind their product and rectify the situation. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
I was shocked to learn that Extreme Terrain had a policy that dictated that they only provide a 30-day window for returns or exchanges. Even though I wasn't seeking a full refund, a simple replacement for the one rusted out board, I was denied any kind of assistance. It seemed absurd to me that a company would sell a defective product, but then have virtually no customer service or support to resolve the issue. If I were you, I would steer clear of this company altogether.
I am extremely disappointed with Extreme Terrain and feel like I got nothing but junk for my money. I never expected car parts to rust like this, and especially not after such a short amount of time. If you look at the photos, you can see for yourself the extent of the damage. I would advise you to pay a bit more and go to a reputable dealer for your parts, as they tend to stand behind their products for at least a year.
