Customer Service is TERRIBLE. They repeatedly lie and spin you around saying they submitted the paperwork come to find out they never did and won't return my calls it's been way over 1 month and still no one returned my calls

Intent to Sue Over Negligence and Unfulfilled Prescription
Intent to sue due to prolonged mouth infection during pregnancy. Despite weekly calls since my appointment, the promised prescription has not been sent to the pharmacy. Misled by the St. Louis office manager Erica on 11/6 about the dispatch of the prescription. It's been a month and 5 days since my initial appointment. This negligence warrants shutting down the facility. Should my baby contract this infection, I will pursue legal action against Familia Dental.

Both times I have visited this office for a cleaning, I have been taken back an hour past my appointment time despite having an appointment scheduled at the time the office opens. The dentists do a terrible job of cleaning teeth; they just running a pick along the gum line then calling it good. They have never flossed or brushed my teeth during a cleaning. On top of that, the receptionists have incorrectly billed my insurance every time I've visited, leaving me to be on hold for over an hour with their office whenever I have to call to correct their mistakes. I would not recommend this office to anyone!

This dentist could even do a teeth mold, they put it in and tore it out very painfully. Dentist was frustrated and just said we are not doing it and told me they were done

Familia Dental force employees to work in unsafe conditions which include going in through a picket line where upset patrons are threatening their lives. The patients are upset because many of them have begun the orthodontic process and Familia was unable to provide an orthodontist so proper care was not provided. Children were stuck in braces without the ability to have any treatment resolution, forced to pay for services Familia was unable to continue rendering, and some were left in pain and discomfort and out money. The staff are constantly harassed and are receiving ZERO support from their corporate office.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE, ONLY and I repeat, ONLY reason I came here is because they are open during the weekend. Oh boy, where do I start?! Want to speak to someone in that office? Well have fun calling their switchboard which takes 15 Plus minutes to get someone all to pull you up and transfer you to the location you need and wait another 15 minutes minutes. You are given the option to have them call you back versus waiting, BUT the 3 times I have selected that option I never hear back. Have a billing issue? That department is a mess too and no one ever calls you back(Left a message too). I called a few times for a referral to get my wisdom teeth pulled and after leaving multiple messages I finally got someone. They claimed they never got my original message and to make matters worse, the Dentist I saw no longer practiced there so I needed to re establish care with a new dentist and have another exam(wish I knew that 3 weeks ago to get this process going). Since I needed another exam, I asked to also have a cleaning. On the day of the appointment, I ended up having the pure exam and they never did my cleaning! Out of frustration about all of this and wanting to get out of that place asap, I forgot to see what was going on with the actual cleaning part of the appointment. I ended up leaving right after my exam since they said I was good to check out now. I informed the hygienist to please upload images of my exam to the surgeons office (which never got done) and I was on my way. I tried calling the office back once I realized I never had my actual cleaning and to make sure my insurance doesn't get billed for services not rendered. Keep in mind, I asked for an exam AND a cleaning which I am sure they didn't perform, yes they did some scaling, but almost none and didn't polish my teeth, floss etc which is what prompted me to call them back. Long story short I left messages and two days after have still not heard back from them or billing. Today, I called again since the surgeon's office said they never received my x-ray images all to wait again another 30 min. I expressed my frustration with the switch board and they apologized and promised they would reach out to the Manager there. Lets see if I receive a call back, stay tuned! Keep in mind, I NEED some extractions! IF you are on Government assistance I suppose this place is better than nothing, but if you have actual dental insurance that you pay for... do yourself a favor and go to a private Dentist or a better clinic. UPDATE, spoke with the office and I was billed for an ADULT CLEANING! This is unacceptable!

They have owed me money since october . Have yet to recieve it. I get the run around EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have been told twice to come into office to get refund only to be told they dont do in office refunds. I've been told twice I'll recieve a check in the mail in 2-3 weeks. I called about 10 min ago and they haven't even made a check out! Let alone sent one! Excuse after excuse after excuse! They owe me almost $400.00. And with everything going on I could really use that money right now. Dont trust this company. They are thieves and liars! BTW. I was supposed to have had root canal and ended up with extraction and paid it all up front. This is why they owe me a refund.

I made a appointment, got there early and on time to fill out paperwork. They said they couldn't find me in the system with my medical card. So they told me if I have any credit cards or cash, they will still remove some teeth and when their new system updates, they will reimburse me with my insurance. So here I am seven months later and it has been a giant run around of getting ahold of them for my reimbursement. I am very dissatisfied with the way they removed my teeth and they left a shard of it inside my jaw. If I hadn't been waiting seven months for them to simply send me a check for the $1200.00 reimbursement then I wouldn't be on this website letting others know about it. Next I plan to call a lawyer if they can't get it resolved.

If I could give zero Stars I would! I've been going to the location in Wheeling for over a year. I made my 6-month appointment, went in July for them to tell me I had no appointment. So I made another one, went to that had two cavities I had to fill, so I made my next one. Showed up for that they told me I had no appointment, I asked them what the heck was going on, they acted like I was crazy. So I made my third appointment with the office desk manager who gave me a card. I called this morning to confirm and they told me I called and canceled my appointment last week which I never did! They were rude and condescending on the phone, and put me on hold while I was still talking because they didn't want to hear what I had to say. I feel like one of them did this on purpose, why I don't know. They made me feel targeted and bullied. It's a shame because I really liked my dentist. This place is unbelievably unprofessional. Don't go here please! The front desk is like a bad horror movie.

This place was terrible from the 1st visit. I was told they did not have the needed info from the referring dentist and that office stated it was all already sent. Because of this we waited over 3 hours to be seen. We went in November and were told they would submit to the insurance for auth. I didn't hear anything back and so I called to see if it had been approved or denied. I was told they didn't have the pictures any longer that were taken at the appointment and so we had to come back in for pictures. We did that in January. I once again hadn't heard anything from the office so I called multiple times. Each time I was told "It still pending insurance" or "I will personally take care of this and get back with you" I did not receive one call from the *** from January to August. I called again in August and it took over a week for somebody to get back with me. Once they finally got back with me I was told it was never sent to insurance for auth and what do you now, they don't have the pictures from January either so a 3rd set will need to be taken. I would give this place zero stars if I could and I don't recommend that anyone take their child there.

I am a nurse manager for a company that manages individuals in group homes. We took 2 vans full of individuals to this office today for appointments. What a crock! They called us on Saturday to confirm all the appointments but upon our arrival, didn't have 3 of our 6 in the system. The receptionist said she wouldn't see any of them without their ID's (because of COVID they don't have any current) but would use the staff ID for everyone. In the 40 minutes it took to try to sign everyone in they never called anyone back from the waiting room (there were 10 people waiting besides our 6 for 9am appointments). There was a lady that checked in right before us and after 40 minutes she came up to see why she hadn't been called back yet and the receptionist said she didn't know the patient was there and had cancelled her appointment. Our staff person spoke up and said she watched this patient check in right before her- the receptionist said that the appointment was cancelled and she was welcome to come back tomorrow. Our staff gathered our individuals and started back home- refusing to ever step foot back in their facility again. Complaintsboard.com please do something about this awful place!

If I could give this company no stars I would. I had an appointment and waited for over an hour to even be acknowledged after I check in. After my procedure I went to the counter to pay my ***. Their card reader was not working and I had no cash on me. It was 6 o'clock and the didn't want to wait for me to run to an atm. They asked if it would be OK to write my debt card information on a post-it and they would run it the next day. Absolutely not! 2 days letter I got a call that they had attempted to run my card again with no luck again(which is weird because I have no noticed from my bank that they even attempted to charge my card) . And how would they have this information when I specifically told them not to write it on a post-it like they had asked to do. The next day I had $200 worth of unauthorized charges on my card! Not only did they write my information down someone in the building decided to use it for other items. I have since locked my card and requested a new one. They not only we directly against what I had said by stile my card information for personal use. This place is a joke. I am currently in an investigation with my bank because whoever there used my card also used their information on purchases. I will not be going to this establishment again and advise no one else does either

The only reason I came here was because they took my dental insurance. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. I have been going there for a total of 4 years and over all the experience hasn't been to awful, besides the aggressive dentist who blamed my gums pouring blood after a cleaning on me not flossing and not him just sucking. That has never happened to me until him. But besides that I get my ortho work done here and about a month ago they called me and said that my orthodontist had left a week prior to my appointment and failed to tell me or any other patients until two days before my appointment. So he basically abandoned his patients without any notice or warning. That was August 4th. It is now August 26th and I just called them to see if there was any improvement to my situation and they told me that they wouldn't have an orthodontist until October. Which is when I was supposed to get my braces off. My braces are already paid for and have been for a while but now I am going to have to wait 4 more months to get them off instead of 1. I get that might not be that long but I have had my braces for almost 4 years and was really looking forward to being a college student without braces. I also can't go anywhere else because I would have to pay and they don't think that anywhere would take my transfer. So basically familia dental screwed me over big time.

If I could leave a negative star review, I would. I had scheduled an appointment to get my teeth cleaned at the Familia Dental in Hobbs, NM about a week ago. I gave them my dental insurance information then and it was all processed and went through smoothly. My appointment was today at 11. Around 10, I get a call from them stating that my insurance came back as strictly medical and that I don't have dental coverage. I thought that was weird so, I talked to my employer and called my insurance provider. Sure enough, they both verified and assured me that I have dental coverage. I called Familia Dental back and let them know what I had found out. However, whoever I was talking to was so sure of herself that I was NOT covered. She said she had already plugged my information into the system and it came back as strictly medical. She had more or less stated that I was wrong and said "Insurances deal with this on a daily basis so, your insurance provider should know that you don't have coverage.". It was a constant back and forth with her. I cancelled my appointment with them immediately. Not even 15 minutes after I had cancelled, she called me back and said "We are so sorry. There was a mistake on OUR end. You do have dental coverage and we would love to help you reschedule your appointment." Girl, NO. How can you tell me I don't have dental insurance if I gave you my information directly from my insurance card? and then turn around and tell me that I don't have coverage? I know my coverage and my insurance. I was willing to let it go, but the way she spoke to me was aggravating, belittling, and she was extremely unprofessional.

I went to familia Dental and they *** up a treatment plan. I agreed to pay because they said that my insurance would cover the filings. When i checked with my dental insurance, the dental insurance informed me that they only covered two filings. When they *** up the treatment plan they advised me that my insurance would cover all the filings for the treatment plan. When i found out I told them i wanted a refund because i had already paid for the treatment plan. They submitted a claim and my insurance denied it because, of course my insurance only covered two filings and THEY KNEW THIS! Now i all out 700 dollars and they won't give me a refund. I hope that they investigate. Please don't do your business with this company. They will take your money. They are a crocked business.
My complaint is about the treatment of customers at FAMILIA DENTAL in East Illinois. I really think that it is unfair for a dental company to lose an orthodontist and not inform the patients. I have been waiting since March 1, 2022, for my next appointment. I have called several times only to be told there is a waiting list. I called the 800 number about two weeks ago, to be told that they are awaiting an orthodontist, as the one that was doing my treatment was no longer there. They attempted to give me an appointment over a 2-3 hours' drive from my home. This is not how business should be conducted, especially towards customers who have paid their dues in full.
I have gone to Familia Dental a few times over the years and I in turn started making appointments for my children and husband. My husband needed partials for both top and bottom teeth. After his examination, the mold was scheduled to be casted and I pre-paid for the top partials. This was right before/as COVID is happening. He showed up for his appointment and the building was closed no cancellation call, no text, no email. We called so many times and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone. Eventually they would tell us all the doctors quit and we could schedule appointments in 3 months. I asked for a refund and was told I would receive one and I never did. I went to email the representative after a month and the email came back unfounded. The employee no longer worked there. I have been speaking with *** for the past several months and she claims accounting has tried to send me a refund check approximately 3 times. I have never, to this day received my money back. This has been over the course of about two years. I doubt I will ever see my money but maybe this complaint will help future potential clients from wasting there hard earned money.
This complaint starts March 1, 2022. My daughter had an orthodontist appointment for adjustment. Upon leaving the office, I was told that we would be contacted by phone to set up the next appointment. Between April 15 and May 20, I called the East Street office several times only to be told we would be put on a waiting list. Another week went by, and I called the other location to be told the same thing about a waiting list.
So on June 1, I reached someone through the 800 number. She stated that the location no longer had an orthodontist at the time and offered to place us on a wait list. I reached out again only to have someone set up an appointment for June 2022, only to receive a text message rescheduling my daughter's appointment to July 10, 2022, at 1 pm. I called back to inquire about this date as it was a Sunday. The representative assured me the appointment was legitimate and that there would be an orthodontist clinic open that day to help with patients.
However, when I arrived for the appointment, the office was closed. I have been going back and forth with this since March 2022, with no success. Each time I call, I get the runaround. And my daughter has not been able to eat well because her wires are loose, and there is no help. My account is paid in full and has been since December .

After losing wages on appointments that were wrong due to them canceling and rescheduling and failing to notify us (Every appointment was 1 plus hours late!). Been given numbers to call left numerous messages but never get call back. We have been told time after time they would call us back after spending so much of our time on the phone being transferred from one person to another to no avail no one ever calls back. We have made multiple attempts to try in get this resolved and they just will not respond. They gave us a fraction of the money back that is due us. They did not provide anywhere near the service they had promised. We have been far too patient in getting this issue resolved. This is definitely a buyer beware business!

A couple 2-3? years ago I got a crown for my tooth. A year later it fell off. I had to have it put back on. That didn't last long. It fell off and must have swallowed it. Later, I got a new crown. That lasted a year. I had to have it put back on. It lasted a month and it fell off again. I had to have it put back on. It lasted a week. I had to have it put back on. It lasted 2-3 months. It fell off for the 6th time. And to top it all off another crown they put on fell off. It is a pattern. I had another tooth that had the same problem, it kept falling off. It had to be removed. I lost a tooth. I called them and they said they would put it back on. I want to get it done right, but, not by them. They already caused me to loose 1 tooth. Because my insurance paid for one they will not get me one from another dentist. I don't want to lose another tooth because they can't do what they got paid to do.

I took my bottom dentures to Familia Dental in my local town a month ago for repair. They have scheduled multiple appointments for me, but each time I arrive, they inform me that they have not yet received my dentures. Now, whenever I call, they simply take down my name and number, yet I receive no return calls. Being without my bottom dentures for a month has been quite distressing. I am limited to consuming only soft foods. I am in urgent need of assistance.

At my appointment, I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment start time before getting called back. The dental assistance were less than professional at the start, but quickly starting acting like they cared. Once the dentist came in, she said my insurance workup wasn't complete so she had no idea what would be covered and to ask the front desk when I left. The front desk was clueless and promised a call back Tuesday. I called Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I have yet to speak with anyone in the office because I keep reaching a stupid call center that can't provide me any information. They claim they are sending "urgent messages to the office," but obviously urgent isn't urgent enough. This dentist office has made it rather clear that they aren't interested in my needs, nor do they care to keep their patients.

Trying to get and understanding of why this locations always cancelling me and my child dentist appointments without an explanation. Then I have to a wait a while month later just to be seen.
Date of this was September 19. I gave Familia Dental a call about reimbursement of funds that I paid for my full treatment with the orthodontist. They told me I would be waiting three weeks for my check. I gave them a call on August 20, with a complaint of not receiving my payment. They told me it was delayed and pushed back to me getting the check by July 7, but I still haven't received it.
From their improper treatment, my teeth at the bottom are going in. I have to wear braces for another 16 months. They have to space my teeth back out and bring them forward again. I feel as if they need to pay me my money now so I can start my process. I still have braces on that haven't been adjusted for 6 months now. This is ridiculous.
Myself and 2 daughters saw a dentist here, my oldest daughter was grossly misdiagnosed. They told me she had 2 cavities when in reality after taking her to another dentist she had 4 cavities, an extra tooth, and an impacted adult tooth. I couldnt even utilize the rays that had been done. *** said they were so blurry he couldnt read them and redid my daughters rays free of charge. I believe this gross misdiagnosis should not have been billed to my insurance where I am allowed limited visits and coverage. I also feel I need to take my other daughter and myself to get a new evaluation after this.

Although I paid out of pocket, I was told by the office to call his insurance *** for transportation. I have tried using *** transportation before, and they never showed up to take me to my appointment. Also, I work and I'm unable to take a day off work. Now, even though I've paid for treatment that is not completed, I want to remove the braces in order to be able to go somewhere else. I am having issues with the braces and fill it's an emergency to see an orthodontist ASAP before it gets worse. Today I asked the lady at the front desk how much longer because she told me it'd only be 15 behind and it was 35 minutes already. She became sotty and said they only have Two dentists. But the sign in the waiting room says they have multiple. I had said that to her in reply and she said wete does it say that so I pointed it out and she said well that's corporate. ? So she kept telling me there's other places to go. I replied that it would be nice in they could let me know when there backed up a hour, or just simply put timely appointment accordingly. She kept going on about there company and asked if I'd liked to see there scheduled? I said no and that I wasn't going to argue with her.she kept going I repeated myself, I'm not going to argue with you. She stop for 5 seconds and then started again. Mind you I'm with my child and I looked and her and said can you stop? And she finally did. This place is completely unprofessional and always backed up and do not know how to run a business. Sadly I don't have many choices with my insurance but this should not be happening every time.

I started ortho services for my son in the later part of the year in 2019. In 2020, I found out my insurance claims had not been filed to have both (mine and my husbands) pay towards the services. I would have had to pay very minimal if claims would have been filed. Every time I called to follow up with filing the claims, they still did not have the insurances information as I had given time and time again. I also found out during this time, my total purchase went for $3,2? To over $4,500. Some how they had a consultation paper signed that was NOT my signature. I had only chosen this provider because is was $1,000 less than my other option. If I was going to pay $4,500, I would have went elsewhere. I brought this to their attention on multiple occasions with no acknowledgement. I even waited for call backs from the call center on 3 different occasions with NO ONE to return my call. A year and a half later, I am still waiting for my insurance to be claimed. I have called the office multiple times, with no answer, left messages with no returned calls. I went up to the office in person, they advised my file has been filed with corporate since June and the lady working on my file would call me the next day. Here we are 3 days later with no response. I need my issues resolved immediately or I will take my issue to court.

This complaint starts March1 2022 My daughter had an orthodontist appointment for adjustment.Upon leaving the office I was told that we would be contacted by phone to set up next appointment. Between April 15,22 and May 20 I called to the E.St.*** several times only to be told we would be out on a waiting list. Another week go by I called to the *** location to be told the same thing again as far as a waiting list. So on June 1 22, I reach someone though the 800 number, she then stated that the location of *** no longer had an orthodontist at the time and again we can place you on a wait list. I then reach out again only to have someone set me up an appointment in June 2022, only to have received a text message that rescheduled my daughters appointment to July 10 2022 @1 pm. I then called back to speak to someone about this date as it is a Sunday (today) he ensure the appointment was legit and that there would be a orthodontist clinic on today as a way to help out with patients. Well when I arrived to the appointment the office was CLOSED.I have been going back and forth with this since March 2022,with no success. Each time I call I get the run around.And my daughter has not been able to eat as well because her wires are loose and there is no help. My *** is paid in full and has been since December .

In Jan 2022 I called to reschedule her appointment due to Covid at which time I was Informed the week in which I was calling, the ortho would no longer be there and they did not have another dr in place. I then begin calling to request the portion of my money back that has not been used has her braces have been fully paid for. I did not get a call back until the end of April or beginning of may despite me calling several times as well as physically going to the office. When I did FINALLY receive a call back, I was informed they would not be refunding any money because she was over half way done but that they had a dr scheduling for *** I schedule her appt for 5/16/2022. Upon leaving that appt I requested to schedule her next appointment (which has always been the process) at which time I was told they did not have dates ready for *** and would call me to schedule for *** once they knew what date the dr would be in. Today 6/3/2022. I called to say hey no one has called me to schedule for this month. I was told I dont know why no one called to schedule, the date for *** is full and we dont have the date yet for July so someone will call you to schedule when the calendar is available. This company has received full payment (as they required) and are now not making a good faith effort to continue/complete treatment. I would like a refund of all my money at this point.

I went to get a new tooth added to my partial plate. First time it was in February, I had to give a impression of my mouth and teeth what I had left. They sent it in with a Urgent on it to a lab in ***. They said it should be 10 business days. After 10 days I called them and they said to make an hour appointment. I was working and I don't have time for hour appt., esp since it s just a plate that goes in my mouth. They said I can come in on that Friday or next morning and see if dentist has time. I drove there right away on Friday. When I got there at first they seemed to have said that my plate was broken. Then after back and forth between the dentist and the office employee, she came back and said that the lab had broken the impression. I demanded my partial plate back bc I needed it to go to court the next week and needed to be able to talk properly. I only have 3 teeth on my upper side of my mouth and talking is weird without the plate. They gave my plate back. and I made an appointment to bring it in and give a new impression after my birthday. So on March7 I go in and they take another impression. I demand that they put Urgent on it. It's now March 28 and I have called the Familia Dental everyday almost. Each call is like 15 min of waiting time. Often after I get hold of someone and they look up their system, they hang up. Then I get thru, they give me the same old story about the lab had issues and it takes 4-6 weeks. , I cannot eat normal foods and talk funny and can't go to court as I am an attorney and make appearances for work sometimes. I am so livid at how they treat me. They dont call back after they hang up on me, or get disconnected. They cannot give me a approx. date when I get my lab-partial plate back. I already told them this is conversion-lawfully taking my property (plate) and keeping it unreasonable amount of time, to illegal amount of time, basically like stealing my property. I want my plate back NOW with monetary damages.

On August 4 I had an appointment to have my teeth cleaned and spoke to Dr *** about a missing tooth I wanted to have options for replacement. Prior to my dental appointment I had spoken with my Primary Dr about the *** I had been suffering for years, he recommended that I speak to a dentist and see about replacing the tooth I have missing on the bottom right side of my mouth. Since I am unable to chew on that side, my *** could be caused by my jaw not being used properly. Dr. *** and I spoke about replacement of my tooth, I clearly stated I needed the tooth to be a premiant piece since I needed it to chew with. He informed me I would need to make an appointment to get molds done, which we made an appointment for October 9th. At that appointment I paid for the replacement tooth, in the amount of $704. I got the molds completed and was told to make another appointment for when the lab was finished with my tooth. I had multiple appointments cancelled on me. When I was finally able to be seen the part that Dr *** had requested from the lab was a partial denture. I explained to him then that was not what we had talked about. During the appointment the piece broke while he was trying to show me how it would work. I told him that wasn't what I was wanting. He said he would send it back to the lab and we would start over. I was called a month later and told I needed to come back for new molds, at that appointment I scheduled my next appointment for the tooth to be inserted. I was cancelled on again. I tried to speak with the staff on making sure this wasn't another denture and was told that it was, but wasn't in there possession yet. After I explained again, that wasn't what I had requested they told me I needed to speak with the Dr. I tried to contact them about over the last few months and haven't gotten any responses. I have spoken with the billing department multiple times to request a refund and haven't been contacted back. I request a refund of $704.
