It has nothing to do with free speech. When you signed up to be a member (which you had to do to be able to leave a flower), you agreed to follow their rules, policies, etc. In other words, you agreed that you do NOT have the right to post negative comments with flowers. Don't call them ingrates for holding you to your word.

TeeJLee,

Here's the problem though, when it comes to FindAGrave if you do not get an account then others begin to rewrite history.

You get an account to fix and take back family information.

Information that FindAGrave encouraged the stealing from cemeteries.

Information that FindAGrave allowed the general public to post about families from obituaries with no review.

I have asked strangers to stop dropping flowers on my relatives database records. It's creepy. If people drop flowers they should be forced to say who they are publicly and forced to write something.

I do believe there should be no foul language, no cursing. I might feel my Dad was an abusive A-Hole but even I should not post that. At the same time he is correct others are rewriting history through crowd religious mentality. My Great Great Grandmother had 3 children by my Great Great Grandfather who was not divorced from his first wife. A woman on FindAGrave does not want my Grandmother of her kids associated with him. "He was a married man and there could be all kinds of reasons DNA say were related." That's what they say to me.

FindAGrave needs more disclaimers on every presented database record saying:

THE INFORMATION PRESENTED HERE ABOUT THIS PERSON HAS NOT BEEN REVIEWED OR VERIFIED BY FINDAGRAVE THE COMPANY. INFORMATION IS ADDED, REMOVED, AND DELETED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL ACROSS THE PLANET. THE DATA SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED AS FACT ABOUT THE PERSONS LIFE.

That is true. And it is also true that the general public believes the data is true and the general public has on idea the harm FindAGrave is doing to their Ancestors history.

What's funny is that I have seen members of findagrave, who's been a member for 22 or 18 years say something negative in their profile or leave a rude flower. Yet when I point out some toxicity on my profile I get threatened by findagrave with my account put in jeopardy. I see that you're just defending findagrave for whatever they do.
