Applied to a job that requested a background check. Filled out the info and sent it in. I was told this process would take 2 days. According to FADV website, the employer should receive the background check in 7 to 10 days. It's been over 2 weeks now. I received a mail copy of my background check. Took the paperwork to said employer. Employer stated that the background check still hasn't come through on their end. WHY?!?! I don't need a background check for myself! I'm fully aware of my own records! Yet, they haven't sent the paperwork to the company for some reason. No communication between the company and employer. They have all my private info and they are holding onto it. Send my info to the company, stop stalling! By the way, you better remember your login credentials, because there reset system is completely broken from the ground up and needs a complete overhaul. I'd give negative stars if I could. Absolutely terrible background check company.
Job offer on 10/27, but background check delays by First Advantage without court request.
I was offered a job in October , but for two months, First Advantage claimed to await court records for my criminal background check. On December 22, I learned from the court that no request had been made by them. Despite assurances of completion, further inquiries revealed no action taken by First Advantage. Their lack of response and a hung-up call suggest unprofessional conduct.
My spouse and I applied for a local rental home. My background check was fine, but according to the rental company, his came back with a felony from 2009. We instantly knew something had gone wrong, as he has never so much as even had a parking ticket. We were also informed that this "offense" took place in a county in a state we were not familiar with. We were given the contact number for First Advantage and told to call them to discuss this further. Upon doing so, they confirmed his identity, told us that the crime was attached to my husband's social security number, and that they would dispute it, but would have 30 days to attempt resolution. The representative was extremely rude and even told my husband that there was a guilty plea. We were also told that my husband would receive a copy of the report via email in 24 to 48 hours. That did not happen. Instead, we received an email from the rental company less than a day later stating that our application was in fact approved. I failed to mention that we spent our entire evening speaking with the county courts only to be told several times that there was no record indicating anything that was told to us by the rental company, or First Advantage.
Horrible. Treated my references poorly, gave incorrect information on background check to future employer, Transferred 4 times before getting someone that wanted all my PII, very rude and hung up when I asked questions. Also off shore and there is no way they are properly trained. Apparently I have 3 felonies in 3 states I found out about but they would not discuss this with me or explain where it came from.
Been waiting 3 weeks now for background check to clear. Called customer service, they said because you live in ***, we are waiting for the courts to get back to us and they are backed up. Was not given any specific time frame on how much longer this will take. Never have I had to wait this long for a background check. This company is causing people their jobs. Absolute worse background check company. Avoid them.
I received an offer of employment from a company that I had been eager to join for a considerable time. My goal was to become a satellite TV technician. My educational background in Electrical work and electronics seemed to be a perfect match for the position. A month-long training class was on my schedule, and I had already passed the drug test, simply awaiting the results of the background check conducted by First Advantage.
Back in 2008, I faced some legal issues, leading to an arrest and a subsequent sentence in 2011. I served my time and was released within the same year. The official disposition of my case was recorded in April . However, when First Advantage conducted their search starting from June , they chose to include the details of my past charges in their report.
By 2015, I had become a member of a respected organization. In 2020, I enlisted as military police, and in 2021, I joined the Fraternal Order of Police. Despite having served my sentence and repaid my debt to society, the report from First Advantage led to the denial of the employment opportunity I had longed for. As a military policeman, an armed guard, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, I found myself unfairly judged and rejected for a past mistake. This experience has led me to seriously consider seeking legal counsel.

INSTEAD they've given me a deadline of 24 to 48 hours to supply what they call additional employment information ... first advantage told me my online access has been locked due to the dispute regarding the background check from YRC on July 22; therefore multiple job opportunities are being taken from me because First Advantage should have checked my online access before setting deadlines asking me to supply information. HOW CAN I DO SO IF THEYVE LOCKED ME OUT OF THE ACCESS SYSTEM...its willful negligence because they know theyve locked me out of there access system so I could never logon in to supply additional information to employers seeking to HIRE ME NOW furthermore First Advantage has verified the information through previous background checks
Disappointed. Ive reached out to their online help and its a dead end they arent able to answer any of my questions and refer me back to the recruiter for the position Ive applied for. I contacted them because the recruiter asked me if Ive heard from them and that there are 6 others that are taking a long time. Its been over a month and they still havent finished. They are keeping me from being employed. Something need to be done. I was afraid to complain do to possible retaliation and at this point I know longer care. If your company is using this service provider for background checks you should find another.

We have been waiting for results from a post-accident drug test since 4/11/22! Every time I have called they say they are checking with the lab and "it's in further review". No one has reached out to the employee to verify any information. And then today I get an email that said "Apologize for the inconvenience caused. At this time, we have received the drug test report from the lab for the individual in question. However, the processing team is reviewing the report." The test result we have been waiting for is for a male - NOT for the unspecified individual mentioned. Unbelievable!
I get these calls almost every week. You can barely understand them, sometimes not at all. Only when I can understand them I will return the call. They say a name and then a phone number in very broken English and very fast. It is helping with my speed writing.I am skeptical of giving out information on former employees so I will only give out Start Date and End Date. The company seems very sketchy.

Completely inept company. I am having to perform my own background check. I am tasked with digging up multiple documents. I have told First Advantage how to acquire and perform a background check which is the value prop that my hiring company sourced FIrst Advantage to perform. I am being told to call up a company's HR department and navigate that department when first advantage's entire functionality as a business is to do exactly this! That's why this hiring company paid First Advantage in the first place. WHY AM I DOING THE WORK FOR A COMPANY THAT WAS PAID TO EXPLICITLY PERFORM THIS EXACT FUNCTION? My start date has been delayed and might be further delayed by weeks. THAT'S THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOST BECAUSE THIS COMPANY CAN NOT EFFECTIVELY PERFORM THE BASIC TASK THAT THE COMPANY WAS HIRED TO PERFORM. This which in leaves my acceptance of this job in limbo. That limbo is very expensive and the amount of stress caused by this inept background check has me considering accepting another offer of employment.

I have government clearance, that background check took less time and required barely any additional information from me. First advantage has requested additional information from me daily since submitting my information originally. Complete waste of time and delaying my onboarding process. By far and long the worst company I have ever had to deal with regarding a background check.
I've been waiting or a background check to be completed for a month now. I have already received a copy of my investigative (criminal check) report and it's all clear but they still have not finished my credit check or employment/education history verification and are dragging on this currently. I have had other jobs that have required background checks and they have NEVER taken this long. This is a horrible company that should be put out of business immediately.

I told them I wouldn't give them any information without a signed release from the employee.They sent the information along with the signed consent. I contacted the employee to verify his consent and he said it was okay. Additionally, I returned the information within two hours. The company called everyday at least once a day asking for the information that I had already returned and leaving rude messages about returning their call.I called back stating that I had returned the information and that they are not to contact our company everyday leaving these rude messages.At that point the person on the phone either found the information or started getting worried because I started asking questions about the company and the man on the phone said thank you and hung up.We are a small company with limited time and I don't need companies like this calling and leaving messages for something that was already completed. 0 star is deserved. And don't bother responding to my negative response about your company, in today's technology atmosphere there is no reason on earth anything something as small as a background check take longer than buying a car or house. I've had two companies do a background check in the last month and am waiting on the second one still, they just got done running the first one three weeks ago and it took them 14 days or more that time. They want to blame the courthouses. I can run a national background check on myself in less than 24 hrs and will be just as, if not more than accurate than theirs. They act as though they are waiting for a physical person in each courthouse in all each state to hand pick my name and physically respond to their request, that is total bull and would take 10 years to fulfill. In my 30 + years I've never seen this level of incompetence on the part of this company or those who use them. They must be the cheapest on the market and have some great free stuff to give away to clients dumb enough to use them.

Horrible experience ever
Horrible experience ever. I am a school bus driver (cdl since 2011) and due to the pandemic have not worked steady hours with the company because kids are not in school. I applied for another driving job and they were looking for immediate hire. Did everything I needed to do on my end and got the conformation to train with the company. I get to training day and the manager tells me my license was flagged for a failure to appear in court back in 2016! This is totally not true, the situation back then was dealt with and the courts dismissed the charges. So why are they reporting as if my license is suspended? Since that 2016 ticket I have not stopped driving school bus as well as every year I go an obtain my DOT medical card. I called secretary of state and was told that on my mvr report it shows dismissed. Well when I called this company they told me that it would take 30days which means bye bye dream job! I even went to get my own mvr report that does state that that charge was dismissed and sent that to the employer but the damage is done because at the top of their report it says IN-ELIGIBLE FOR HIRE! I am floored because I don't have any tickets, accidents and I have the yrs experience and I have been sabotaged!

This company uses a scoring model that lowers a FICO score by as much as 80 points, in order to increase credit or housing costs for ordinary consumers who don't have traditional proof of income at the time the consumer applies to a landlord. This means the person selected for this virtual colonoscopy of a screening, done by nearly unintelligible people on a bad phone line in India, pays more to secure housing. They ask repeated phases of questions, alluding rudely you aren't who you say you are (you) and I mean rude in tone, and intentionally intimidating. At the end, you may be told you are "conditionally approved," and then you pay a double or triple apartment deposit because of not having traditional proof of income. Luckily, they ultimately may believe that you are who you say, after four iterations of questions and literally an email asking odd questions (after the previously mentioned phone colonoscopy) your astrological sign. They've been sued in federal court since they don't have a process for promptly correcting errors if they have improper information on an applicant under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They must get away with it, since they seem to operate offshore, by haughty men in a call center in India.

First Advantage is the worst background check company I've ever dealt with
First Advantage is the worst background check company I've ever dealt with. It took three weeks to complete my background check and for First Advantage to submit it to the company I applied with, after 3 wrong estimated completion dates. I had to constantly ask what the hold up was to see any progress, had to call my potential employer multiple times to follow up with First Advantage because First Advantage wouldn't finish/submit my background check. I asked multiple times what the hold up was and what I could do to help and was told multiple times by First Advantage that I wasn't allowed to be told why MY background check was taking so long. They refused to explain the problem telling me they couldn't send me my own private information when they need my permission to release it to anyone! After 2 weeks, multiple emails, and phone calls from me and my employer I got my background check emailed to me. But First Advantage decided to wait another week before actually sending that off to my employer. This has been the most frustrating background check I've ever gone through. If you're an employer thinking about using First Advantage please don't. If you a potential employee and you're for forced to used this awful company I'm so sorry for you.

I dont know the first girls name but I saved *** & *** I go about my business & check for a response it shows my time I asked & the response time. Hours. Not 2 or 3 hours,More. I send another message but she wasn't there .I believed maybe they were real busy. I tried again. Same thing I tried again same thing. I left a message stating my frustration & disappointment in their service I couldnt do it myself & that they caused me a job.
It seems to me their customer service just wants to get a check, they say they respond within minutes. It is a blatant lie. I really dont think that I'm that unlucky to try multiple times & not get a response for multiple hours. I am not computer savy,so I need help with this,but i have to work & sleep. This isn't waiting a few minutes. It is hours & then you send another because they left, & the same thing as far as customer service the are way in the negative rating. . Thanks for your time.

This company cost my spouse a chance at enployment. They stated on Friday the 19th that we had until Wenesday the 24th at 9 a.m. to complete the test. They supposedly contacted a closer testing site digitally sent the Chain of Custody and scheduled our arrivial for Tuesday in the morning. We arrived tuesday and they had been sent nothing nor did they have us scheduled nor were they even a testing site. They supposedly called a second location 10 miles away we arrived only to be denied again on grounds they were not even a testing site. By this time our only option was a testing site an hour away that would only be open for another hour. Needless to say we did not make it in time. First advantage told us we could still go to a testing site at 7 am this morning Wenesday the 24th but if the sample was not processed by 9 am it would not be accepted. So yesterday evening she contacted her employer and they would not file an extension on grounds that her time frame actually expired monday evening, not Wenesday morning. So First Advantage completely led us astray, every step of the way. I contacted First Advantage this morning to see if The Employer could view the Transcript in relation to the reference number given to us by First Advantage that had the detailed notes of our experience. I was told the only notes they possesed from the 4 different people that handled our testing were notes that we had until wenesday feb 24th to complete it and that 2 testing sites turned us away. Nothing else. Also they would not let the employer view even these measly notes.

No results even with a call today from Human Resources from the company I've applied to. My background check request was submitted on 9/10. I was told results are typically available within 5-10 business days. The drug test results came back in 3 and the check for my town and county came back in 2 days. I am waiting for the results of the national background check to be completed and have been told that Cook county has asked for an additional 6 days. Ive also been told that Cook County is the only county delaying the completion of the background check. Ive been told by FA that FA uses a 3rd party vendor to acquire background checks from certain counties. I applied for another job with another company as an ambulance driver and the backgroung check performed by Accutrace came back in 6 days. Accutrace also received information from Cook County as part of the 6 day turn around. Here it is business day 13, calandar day number 19 with only Cook county being the alleged hold up. I had high hopes with the speed of which the local court house returned the information and figured a delay would come from some podunk city or state. I'm positive this company will only deflect in any given response as done in pretty much every response I've seen so far. I was able to contact the Cook County clerks office in chicago and had them look up my background information. Im not sure why FA is having such a hard time obtaining information they are paid to obtain. I get it, the world doesnt revolve around me. I feel that FA shouldnt be paid until the job they're comissioned to do is done. Im positive that by posting this, FA will continue to delay the process. I hate to think that but can help to express how I feel. I wish the company I applied at would do research on the company entrusted to secure information on prospective candidates. If the background check is complete in the time of the 6 day extension, I will revise this post.

First Advantage (FADV.com) should NOT REQUIRE a Social Security Number (SSN) to apply for a job. This is a third party website vulnerable to attacks and data breaches just like every other company or website. It is NOT required by law to provide a SSN to fill out a job application, nor is it standard practice. The Social Security Administration actually tells you to never provide it unless it is for forms with the employer such I-9 or W-2 for tax purposes, which you would provide to the employer and not a third party website such as First Advantage. Additionally, as First Advantage claims, that they need the SSN for background checks is also false. A criminal background check can be accomplished with just a name, date of birth and address, a SSN is NOT required unless you are checking on a persons credit. If you are checking the persons credit, then the employer and not First Advantage, can ask for it and the employer by law must tell me they need the SSN to pull my credit. First Advantage does not offer an option to decline providing your SSN and still submit an application. How can a 16-18 year old kid apply for basic job such as working at a local retail store or restaurant without exposing their SSN unnecessarily? In todays age of hacking and limiting your SSN to potential exposure, why must a third party be involved when you haven't even been called for an interview. If we want to help combat SSN exposure, people need to be more vigilant about protecting their information and stop handing it out to third party people whom are not the ones providing the job, not providing a loan, credit card or mortgage for property rental. Every site out there to include Complaintsboard.com, Social Security Administration and other 3 letter government agencies, tell you to never provide your SSN to any third party or unnecessary reason, yet First Advantage REQUIRES it to even apply for a job. In the professional world, you would never put your SSN on your resume' and you should never provide it on any job application, if there are even ones that ask for it.

Back to where I left off after being overtaken by the cooperation all the existing employees including myself had to fill out another application to start again as a new hire under the new ownership which include a background check. This took place around November 15 and everyone ecoept me and one other person had their background results come back and pass. Therefore now I'm waiting with no type of income with a wife and little girl who just turned 1 a month ago and am afraid I'm fixing to become homeless because it's been about a month now and My rent is due Thursday and don't have a dime to my name. Ive called and called and no one can tell me anything about my delayed background they even promise to call back and don't . First advantage needs finish up my background because I need to work to support my family. I don't want to cause them alot of problems I know the pandemic is slowing things down but a month I just want them finish my background that's all my eta has been pushed back three time now it's suppose to be the 28 of this month. please see what you can do to speed up the process.

I'm completing a background for Profile Advantage, also known as First Advantage. I'm applying for a delivery job with Creekwood Legacy, who are contracted with a major company. I'm not applying for a security clearance job, just to deliver packages. Yet, they are asking for such detailed information. They want a decade's worth of residential addresses. No other company asks for this much information. I've decided not to complete the process because it appears to be based overseas, and I do not trust that this company will handle my information securely. This company warrants an investigation. The chat responses are slow, and I am uncomfortable with the idea of providing them with my entire life history. Something about this situation doesn't feel right.

I have a background check pending at First Advantage through my new employer. I have been waiting for First Advantage to finalize the background check and it has been 45 days. I have called daily to First Advantage who said they were waiting on my federal Background check. Today I called and escalated to the federal agency who said they had mailed the information back to First Advantage on August 18th! I called back to First Advantage today and was told that they would have to investigate, and it may take a few days. In the meantime, I cannot start work, I am 45 days without pay and have bills that will be overdue, and my employer really needs me to start. At this time, I feel I have no other recourse than to escalate this through other channels as this is now affecting my ability to pay my bills.
I applied for an apartment and was denied because of the First Advantage consumer report having 3 inaccurate items. I am out the apartment application fee and will not be able to find another apartment by the time needed. I may be homeless because of these inaccuracies.

There is another *** with my same DoB that comes up on my background, Ive had to dispute every time and currently can not get employed through *** due to turn around time by the time they complete the background the position is no longer available, but in this case my background check is completed I am eligible for the position but now Im told because I have disputed the nation wide search in the past it automatically puts my file in a dispute status, and Ive called for days now spoke to this department thr back department, and its always oh we see but that team is not available well email them and have it cleared later and youll be good, but my current job Opportunity still cant see my background as completed, so very frustrating, just trying to go to work to provide for my family but cant get someone from first advantage to do THERE JOB. To the point I dont know what to believe every time I call its a different story. Cant believe for such a big company there resources seem to just be *** searches and not real in depth look at individuals and there social or picture. Not trying to do there job just need some one from first advantage to do there job.

I'm having a standard background check done and I've been waiting going on 3 weeks. It's nearly impossible to reach anyone and the one time I did they were no help. I'm reading complaint after complaint about this company. Something needs to be done about them, there are ruining people's lives and costing companies millions by holding up the employment process.
This is a background check company. Background check was started on July 5th. Multiple chats and phone calls have been made with no completion of the check or when it will be completed. just weekly extensions of when it might be completed. Most background check companies can have them back within minutes not months. A job offer has been stalled and my family is the ones paying the price for their inability.

This is a company that provides background checks to other companies. I was in the process of being hired at FedEx, when their report came in. My problem is that there shouldn't be anything over 7 years old showing up for an employer to see. Employers only require the 7 years, and by showing them that excess information, they made me look like a liar because I didn't put that on my application. I wasn't required to. They should not be providing anybody, especially a potential employer with excess information, it is unfair and not right, and honestly I feel like I had a life changing opportunity stolen from me. As I, and I'd imagine anyone else made aware of this would agree, this looks like just another slight of the poor, especially the subgroup of poor, the parolee's or ex-convicts. People that are trying very hard to change and save their lives and improve the lives of their loved ones. It isn't cool that I have to report a company for something like this. It seems like it was just a lazy company that didn't take the time to remove the things that never should have been there. Where does it end? The system cannot hold things over peoples head an indeterminate amount of time, it's dangerous. I don't think it was anything against me personally, but it's hard not to feel that way. I applied for a job with a notable company and they used First Advantage for a background check. Weeks had passed by and I finally received an update from the company about a second chance program that they offer to previously convicted felons. This prompted me to contact First Advantage in regards to this email. They informed me that they found a Michael McCoy in another state for which they had no date of birth, so they mistakenly linked this man's felony case to me. I have never visited nor lived in that state. The second representative claimed it was because we had the same address, which is also incorrect. My address was on Black Oak in Maryland, while the felon lived at a different location. When I confronted them about it, they were difficult to deal with. I called back a third time and finally, the person offered to try and dispute the results. The delay has been so extensive that it has cost me not one, but three job offers. I am also in the Army and run the risk of losing my 12-year career over this fraudulent mishap. Not to mention, this can also ruin my chance at purchasing a home as we are in the middle of house hunting. First Advantage has a history of errors in background checks, which is highly unfair and unprofessional.

This time I applied and was denied employment because my background check had failed because of the false report provided.and told to call first advantage.. I get a copy of the background that they gave Amazon and the sections that I filled out were completely blank! But the detailed description I typed remained. This false report cost me an opportunity because Amazon holds this in there system as a failed or pending background and I now have a federal job so I know this report is false I contacted first advantage and no one answers the phones , and when I finally reached someone they made a broken promise of how they were gonna help and call me back but never did

I was offered a job and has to consent to a background check. The time frame that was given to them was from 3/9-3/9/2022. They went all the way back to 2006 causing me to be ineligible for the job. Telling me the employer asked for a lifetime check. Very untrue in fact it's unethical. That was 16 years ago. I worked for the *** for almost 9 years to which a background check was performed by another company and nothing came up. If a date range was given they should have to stick to it. Not take it upon themselves to do a lifetime check and blame it on the employer
Backround check conducted for potential employer. First Advantage has the search dates of 3/10-3/10/20202. But have things from 2009&2014 reporting. Why are they even on the report if they are past the criteria date? Non English speaking staff for consumers, makes it difficult to relay complaints. Its is predatory towards people with past records. This is the second background check in 6 months by first advantage to disclose a charge past the stated dates on the background check. Ive spoken to about 10 people who have all had this issue as well. Something is right about this, at all.
Offered job at a prestigious company on 3/3/2022. Background report commenced. As of 4/28/2022, no background report has been forthcoming. That's 7 weeks! Contacted the company by both myself and the HR person numerous times with no resolution as to when it will be done. First, I was told April 8th, then April 21st, still no resolution. Have been told that the background report is in processing and they are awaiting one final response from a field representative.

I was hired for my new Job on January 6, 2022. I immediately the next day got emails requesting information for my background check. I sent everything in that was asked of me January 7, 2022. My start date for my new job was supposed to be February 7th 2022. Which I cant start because Im still not cleared. The first time I called to see what was going on; I was told they never received my signed authorization form. Which they email me this information last minute on January 26, 2022. Which I had turned in prior from when they first asked for it. When I sent everything in on January 7th 2022. I immediately sent it in again to them. I called to confirm they had it. They said at first no, then after calling multiple times I was told they received it and didnt need anything else from me. I emailed them on February 1 2022 asking what was going on because my start date was so close and I still easy cleared. I got no response. So I called again was told that they are waiting on the courts. I called down to the courts and state police and they said they never received a request. So this has herded me from my original start date. This is absurd because I have bills and have to live. I got a new job that I cant start due to my background check taking way longer than expected. Something needs to be done.I had already gave my notice for my other job with me starting my new job on the 7th. This needs to be resolved immediately. I had a background check in August with this company and it was back in 2 days. So I dont understand what the e difference is now. Frustrated customer.

I recived a conditional offer of employment on 01/20/2022. The offer was conditional upon passing a pre employment background check. I completed and submitted all information for the said background check the same day 01/20/2022. After waiting two weeks for First Advantage to complete the screening I contacted the agency to inform them that my employment was due to begin in a few days and to question when my screening would be completed. I received only a few automated responses claiming that it would done as soon as possible. On the day my employment was to begin I again contacted First Advantage to inform them that my employment was to begin that day and to question when my screening would be completed. Again I received a few automated responses only this time with a new "estimated date of completion" which was two days after I was to start at my new employers. The new "estimated date of completion" has now come and I again contacted first advantage to inquire about my screening, again I received the same automated messages and nothing else. This company is costing me a life changing career. 19 business days have gone by 27 total days to complete an employment background check is absolutely ridiculous. I have read some other accusations against this First Advantage company and it seems that this is not an isolated incident something needs to be done hear people are trying to go back to the work force and this companies negligence is costing them their chance at employment. If there is no result from this complaint I will be seeking other legal assistance with this issue.

On Friday, April 22,22 I was notified by the company that I had a conditional offer. I always like to get the information they need done quickly. I completed the information for the background they sent to me, and when I came to the drug test in the information online, it required me to choose a location. since It was Saturday ( as I received the conformational offer on Friday, later in the day) I was looking for a lab open on Saturday. I requested assistance from First Advantage and they gave me an answer that did not answer my question. I was seeking help to find a location that was open on Saturday. I got on the chat more than one, but it took a very long time for them to answer-hours . I fond one, and the nurse told me that I needed the passport paperwork and asked me if I had that. I had not received any paperwork for a drug test at that time. so I reached out to First Advantage again, and I was told I needed Identification for the drug test, which was not my question. I asked where the paperwork was to give to the location for the test. They told me to call the company on Monday. ( which did not help me over the weekend). Also, there are usually time limits to get these done, which is why I was trying to gather what I needed to go and take the test Saturday. When I cold not get the information from First Advantage, I decided to just change the location to one that was open During the weekdays. After this, I noticed they quickly sent my report to the company saying my SSN did not match. This is incorrect. The information I read, said that if the company needed to they would reach out and ask questions- they never did. This feels retaliatory for my saying I had to wait so long and that I was not getting any assistance.

I responded to the email (it did not leave me much room to really give them a lot of information) they responded that I satisfied their request for information. Now, 27 days later... My background check is not only still delayed? BUT, nobody can give me any information? It's perfectly reasonable if a background check is taking longer than (the statement by the company says turns around in 3-4 business days, *** tops! And the state of Maryland is a Freedom of Information State... As in NOTHING is inaccessible) expected to call and find out information? To see if you can help. It's even on the federal guidelines that they have to follow if it takes more than 14 days, you contact them! First Advantage though whom I actually have a profile account set up with tells you to call the phone number that gives you an automated recording (that tells you they cannot help you)? Try to contact candidate support for my job same thing! But that's to be expected they're an international conglomerate, I expect to hit a wall with them. Not First Advantage? I'm particularly worried because I did not want to leave my job in the beginning of 2021 to deal with the things I had to deal with. Now I am in desperate NEED and I can't pay my bills because my tentative start date has been pushed due to a issue processing my background? Nothing, has changed since the last time. Background delivery has taken over 3 months. I have applied for two jobs since August 31. One with FedEx and one with Lowe's. I had a background check done with FedEx October 12 and I was waiting on a response or call back from them. After repetitively calling them on numerous occasions they told me that they wanted to hire me but my background check hadn't come back cleared. I got discouraged but I continued to seek employment. I applied with Lowe's and completed a background check on October 16. It was brought to my knowledge that they both used the same companies to complete background checks which was First Advantage. When I call, I receive the run around or someone who tells me that they will expedite my process yet I hear nothing in return from them like promised. I have been unemployed for three months. I have a family and children to feed and First Advantage is tainting with my livelihood. This is not fair nor is it acceptable when I'm trying to make an honest living. I spoke with a lady on yesterday, November 23 who told me if I go to the courthouse and receive clearance from them that I can fax over the form and my process will be completed. When I called her back to inform her that I had the paperwork and was preparing to fax it to her she tried to act ask if she told me no such thing because a coworker was sitting with her. I wasn't trying to make her out to be the bad guy because I was just excited that I finally got someone on the phone who was willing to help me. Did she? No, I had to call again this morning. I have called First Advantage everyday because they tell me that my ETA is November 7, then it was November 16, then November 23, and now December 1. I have no more precious time to waste because these companies are only going to be lenient and understanding for so long before they fill these positions. Now, it's time for me to get the courts and lawyers involved to file a lawsuit because this is RIDICULOUS!

I was notified the day of my start date that I had not passed the background portion and therefore would not be able to start until I have cleared this matter. Keep in mind I was hired and cleared to start working (through first advantage) with Amazon several times prior to this particular occasion however, I contacted first advantage on November 14th to acquire about this matter (being I had not received any written explanations or any information.) I called was informed that I had two pending cases that are preventing me from being cleared. I advised them that there was a misunderstanding, as I was arrested In May this year, but I was never charged with these crimes. They advised they would do another investigation that will take up to 30 days, but average time is *** days. I was advised to send over any supporting documents to ease the process. Now again I have already passed a background check through first advantage 3 times prior since May, but I sent over documents directly from the *** that states that I had not been charged nor will I be charged in the future with either of these crimes. I sent these documents over to *** on Nov. 16th of 2021 was told several times that my case was still being processed and that it would be put on the priority list to be worked expeditiously. After being told this time and time again for several weeks I was told on December 8th that they completed their investigation Dec. 7th and that there was no dispute found. I asked them to please have a supervisor contact me as I have sent them direct statements from the district attorney that proves the inaccuracy of these reports and was told someone would contact me as soon as possible. I have not heard anything from anyone, I am out of the job and have no explanation as to why not even a letter. This is completely unfair and unprofessional and unacceptable.

My employment on-boarding process with Genpact has been effectively halted due to First Advantage's background checking process. I filled out the required paperwork and disclosures on 10/25 and my background check started. I am a *** vet and was previously stationed in ***. First Advantage erroneously asked for a Certificate of Conduct from ***; even though I've never been a resident nor a citizen of ***. I entered and exited *** under a *** Status of Forces agreement and a local *** addendum agreement. This request was asked for because First Advantage's system doesn't have the ability to recognize APO, AE addresses and rather it asked for the *** State I was stationed in. I've requested many times to move forward with my background check since this Certificate of Conduct is not applicable to my military service nor time spent stationed in ***. I'm requesting First Advantage educate itself on what a Certificate of Conduct is for, who it applies to, and why it doesn't apply to *** service members stationed overseas under Status of Forces Agreements. I'm also asking that First Advantage move forward with my background check. It has been requested by myself and my future employer to no avail. First Advantage has effectively stalled my successful on-boarding and appears to care very little about it. It's of note that for a business that does background checks only, it appears to lack subject matter expertise, and also doesn't understand how to apply risk-based decision-making. I'm being hired by Genpact away from a *** bank. It's pretty clear that I wouldn't be working for *** largest bank if I had a criminal record there. First Advantage seems to not accept that what it's requesting is not necessary and hasn't done anything to adjust course. This has implications for thousands of service members previously stationed in *** and seeking employment post military. Please stop asking for unnecessary information and documentation.

FIRST ADVANTAGE/NCAC failed to notify me about reporting derogatory info. to Equifax, Experian In section 603(p) 15 U.S.C. ss 168s-2(a)(7)(A)(I); The notice required under subparagraph (A) shall be provided to the customer prior to, or no later than 30 days after 07/06, furnishing the negative derogatory information to a consumer reporting agency described in section 603 (p), 15 U.S.C. ss 1681s-2(a)(7)(B)(I). Plus broke commercial law under UCC *** that all notices were timely and properly given by dated certified mail receipt. They were not met. I asked for documentation & received no response. Also, FIRST ADVANTAGE/NCAC " failed to give me my *** five days prior to placing this derogatory item on all of my credit reports, per Section *** 809, which is $1000 per violation and the state of *** allows treble damages.Under 809. Validations of date and Mini-*** under Section 807(1)FIRST ADVANTAGE/NCACMs., Communications Manager failed to send me my initial communication before placing this alleged derogatory status on my credit reports further violating the *** I understand that according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, failing to provide this notice can result in a penalty up to $2500 and can be enforced by the *** and that my state attorney general can also enforce this with a $1000 penalty as well.I attached a copy of the law and the actual document from the federal reserve FIRST ADVANTAGE/NCAC is held liable as well for defamation and in the state of *** a creditor is who collects their on debt is considered a debt collector under FDCPA. *** v. Background check completion keeps getting pushed back. Employment on hold due to this. Its been over 1 month now. ETA keeps changing each week! I submitted a background check to First Advantage through my employer on 12/14. It has been well over a month and my background check is still 'in process'. I called several times each week and always get disparate information. Some reps tell me they are unable to disclose what is pending while others tell me its a county search from the courts. I am the applicant and should be aware of what exactly is pending. On 12/22 they requested some documents which I provided the same day. 4 weeks later I received another email requesting the same documents. I spoke to a rep on the phone and explained that I had uploaded the documents on the 22nd and when she checked the system, it was there! She said she would let her team know and leave a note. Needless to say, I uploaded the document a second time just incase. I should have started employment a month ago but due to this pending background check, my START DATE HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK 4 TIMES NOW! Each week I call, they say the ETA has been changed. I contacted my State Police Department, General and Civil District Courts and they all told me that they don't have any request for information from First Advantage. This is absolutely unacceptable. My career/life is on the line here. It's almost nearing 2 months and the background investigation has still not been completed. I landed my dream job, received and accepted an offer, and now I am VERY WORRIED that my employer may decide to not move forward because the BI has been taking so long. I've been looking forward to start working again since this COVID pandemic hit. Like many others out there, this pandemic has really affected my family and I financially and mentally. This job brought back some hope but due to the lack of communication and carelessness from FADV, I'm unable to start my employment and am afraid that my employer will rescind their offer due to this.

I completed and sent it the same day. I didn't hear back as soon as I thought I would so I called at the beginning of Feb. I talked to two different customer service reps, the first one had mentioned that there was some sort of hold on my background check, so he had transferred me to the next available manager type rep to help me figure that out. She had told me that everything was completed and that there was a "hold on the account" because the company that was hiring me liked to do one search at a time. I shrugged this off and continued to remain patient because she told me there was nothing more I could do. Fast Forward two more weeks and I am growing more concerned. I find out that they had sent me an email asking for the same CPIC form to be resent, So naturally thinking and being told there was nothing wrong with the first one I had become so concerned! I called them and I had told her what was going on and she assured me there was nothing wrong and that sometimes you just need to do another form. I was upset, but I followed through and did what I was told. TODAY WAS DIFFERENT. I called and said what the heck is going on this is the THIRD TIME I have had to do this form. What is going on? They go on to tell me that I had not filled out PART D which was for the employer. The instructions were not clear and I assumed this was going to be done electronically due to the pandemic. I was wrong. I still do not know if this is enough for them. I have never committed a crime at all or any charge or offense in my entire life. I have never even lied on a resume. I am so angry with this company to toy around with me and tell me so many things only to have someone else tell me something completely different. I have NEVER done a background check before. I literally did all of the footwork for this company and a month later they just refuse to complete my background check. No matter what I do these people will not do their jobs. I have had 50 phone calls with these people. They have literally every but of information for nearly my entire life. I've been credit checked, fingerprinted, drug tested, you name it. I've spent $70 of my own money getting this background check done. They caused me to lose my first job by dragging their feet and now I'm about to lose a second job because they still A MONTH LATER are dragging their feet. None of their customer service representatives are properly trained. They give out constant misinformation and do not do what they are paid to do. This company DOES NOT CARE about any candidates or their jobs. They've already been paid so they don't really care about the people that keep them in business. They are rude, unapologetic, inconsiderate, and incompetent. They should not be in business and in fact should be deeply investigated. I believe that I and all of the other people on here reporting this business that have lost their jobs during a pandemic because of this incompetent company should start a class action lawsuit. I've done every single thing asked of me in a timely manner and I cannot get the same in return from this horrid company. Out of the 25 representatives I spoke with, only ONE knew what she was doing and helped me as much as she possibly could. This company has created so many extra steps for me it wasn't even funny. Here are all of the steps completed to date for two jobs: Fingerprints: Cost $50 - I spent 4 hours being fingerprinted. Had to pay Identogo and mail them overnight to them. Drug tested: spent an hour and a half being drug tested I have completed two interviews Four online sessions Filled out a personality/cognitive test Filled out onboarding twice Filled out two background checks Had my credit report run Paid $15 for a copy of my diploma Paid $5 for a copy of my college transcripts This company needs to be out of business. If your entire purpose is to complete background checks for people to get jobs and you fail a lot of people, do you think you should still be doing it? First Advantage is the company that performs background checks for companies to hire perspective employees. They are inefficient and fail to do so. On Sept. 1st I was offered a position with *** and given the task of completing a background check. I submitted my background check requirements on the 2nd of September . I have worked for *** several times in the past 20 years and it has never been more the 48 hours returned. After about 8 days i called to ask why it was not back yet. I spoke with a young man who informed me that there was nothing that could be done due to the fact that it has to process for at least 10 business days before anything can be done. I then waited the allotted time frame and called back. This time I spoke with a representative named Brandy. She very nonchalantly told me that it was still in process and there was nothing that could be done but to wait. I asked her if there was a manager I could speak with and she told me no. She then transferred me to a member of *** corporate office and left the call. After being told that *** had to wait on first advantage, I was later that day rescinded the offer of employment. By coincidence 2 days later I was offered a better position by the sister company Sam's Club who also requested a background check from first advantage. Because the first one was never completed sams club could not request a new one. I then called back and again I spoke with Brandy who was rude and could care less of my concerns. However this time I was told that a supervisor would call me back. I was confused because I had been previously told that there was no supervisor. I waited to hear from the supervisor who did call and with an attitude told me word verbatim what brandy said previously, which was that the courts are closed and causing a delay. I decided to call my local as well as my hometown courts as I am originally from Maryland, and I was told that the courts have all been open for business but limited public access in certain departments. Upon hearing this i then called back and was told my completion date had changed to the 30th of September which means the second job offer is now in jeopardy of being rescinded as well. I just moved to north carolina and I have not been able to work due to this companies inability to complete their job in a timely matter. I am still waiting and through no fault of my own I am at risk of loosing a second position. If I don't start work soon I will be not be able to cover my rent or utilities for my home and I have kids. Something has to be done about this company.

The worse company ever they took almost 4 weeks to give me my background check and then I put a dispute in and now it's taking them even more time to get back with me. Customer service is horrible they hang up when they want to and have very nasty attitudes.
Worst ever. Literally just had one completed with them for one job I didnt accept due to being part time. So another was submitted week later and theyve drug it out past the first 5 business days that the expressed, then changes to 10 lol. Now saying an additional 3 business days. All along Ive complained to them and this job is no longer an option. I recommend not using them and there reviews here speak fir themself. Terrible everything! U get not even a star from me. Recommend these big companies dont use them because there terrible in helping these big corporations(Home Depot,Walmart) in gaining gainful employees. *** is pathetic and overall experience has been the worst ever!

Horrible company! Agents have bad attitudes and place you on hold on purpose! I requested to speak with a supervisor and the rude agent just left me on hold! Horrible! The worst!
