their website billing service
This website/company are con artists. The site wouldn't allow me to cancel my free trial and kept attempting to pull money from account. I told them to stop via their website and then woke up this morning to where I had a bill declined due to this site pulling money from account. Now I have a return charge thanks to this con artists. they run a scam with this free trial garbage to suck you in to get $39.80 a month. I demand my money back immediately! Next stop is the BBB
being able to preview foreclosed homes
I have been trying for 2 months to get this company to stop charging my account.I have submitted several times to them about charging my account and tbey told me that account dont exist.Well if it dont why are they charging my account. Please help me stop them from taking what little money I do have from me. Thank you.I was unaware of them taking my money from account. They never emailed me stating they took my money.Everytime I go to the web sight it said I didnt have account and had to start another one.Im not signing up again when I couldnt stop the first one.Not one time have I got to see a foreclosed home by my living area. They never showed me nothing except whats on the home page and that is it.I know this is a scam and they need to be stopped.I live on a set income and cant afford thos amount to be taking out every month. Why are these people aloud to do this.Cant our government stop these kind of people from taking from people who cant afford it obviously or we wouldnt be complaining.Im hoping they get stopped and something is done right away.My husband and son were killed I need my money for them. Not no scam artist who it making a living on peoples money that dont deserve this to happen to them. Please stop them now.I have memorials I have to pay for.
business largely making money off consumer errors and victims of fraud
Summery
I noticed a total of $636.80 (39.80x16) charged to my credit card from foreclosure.com. I called the company and found out that (around 15 months ago) my card number was used to sign up for a trial service to gain access to their website but was not canceled. They further clarified that the the service was never used.
Even though their service was never used refused to refund $560.40. (after long phone calls they agreed to refund – they only agreed to refund 119.40).
Rather than refunding for service that was never used and that did not cost them anything - they referred me to my credit card company to file a fraud complaint since I was so far unable to recall anyone who I authorized 15 months ago to use my card for such a transaction.
I have never filed a fraud claim before and called the credit card company and was told that if I won't be able to figure out who used the card, I could file a claim. However I might not be able to recover all the charges because of the time that elapsed.
I called back foreclosure.com explaining them that I am set up on paperless and auto pay with my credit card. I asked them if they ever make an attempt to contact the card holder before or after charging the card. They said that they never contact the customer and the only way for me to find out is on my credit card statement. (I don’t even know how they could have contacted me). I contacted all my affiliates and was unable to locate anyone who used my card at that website.
I therefore think that foreclosure.com should issue a refund for a service that was never used.
Unethical ways of making money
Here are my complaints against the company:
1- They don’t help prevent fraud. They allow credit card transactions even without the correct name and without the billing address. Just by putting in a card number.
2- They knowingly bill customers for service that they know was never used. And…
3- Their policy is to continue billing unaware customers on a monthly basis for years, even though they know that the customer never used their service not a single time.
4- They don’t attempt to contact the customer in any way before initiating each monthly charge. Not by email, phone, or mail.
Logically this practice seems to be intentionally that customers won’t realize the charges for the non used service many not cancel the service.
Possible Legal issues:
(Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. If you feel you were unlawfully billed by this company, please consult a licensed lawyer in your area).
I am hoping that one day someone will file lawsuit against this company and recover all the payments that were made by customers for service that was not used.
This company appears to serve all 51 states. Each state has varied laws about notifying consumers prior to deducting automatic payments.
No Receipts Provided
Foreclosure.com does not provide an "itemized receipt" (detailed receipted explaining the charges and the exact product/service that was provided). To my understanding this is against the law in many states.in fact the company does not provide a receipt at all. A business that purchases their service needs an itemized receipt in order to properly complete their tax returns.
A. The IRS does not usually accept "credit card statements" as proof of an expense.
B. One important tax reason for an itemized receipt is to see which portion of the payment was to foreclosure.com and how much went to sales tax. The sales tax portion could be deducted in the itemized deduction in a tax return. Another reason is that in the event of an audit, the IRS needs to see "exactly" what the payment was for, in order to determine if it is a legitimate deduction for the specific type of business.
No Notification before charging credit card:
Most legitimate companies including Electric and gas utilities, Credit card companies, and mortgages send out either a hard copy or an email before deducting auto pay.
For example many states require that even mortgage companies need MAIL out mortgage statement every month before deducting auto pay – even though payments are the same each month.
Skype and other businesses
One example of a legitimate service is skype that bills 3 dollars per month to maintain a phone number. Each month before deducting the 3 dollars from your credit card - they send out an email notifying you of the deduction.

rip off
I was online on 4/2/09 I had recieved a email about foreclosure homes it daid free 7 day trial but u still had to enter credit card info. and phone number so I did but for some reason I was wonderin I should do it but I said since its free ill try. but for some reason when it said enter ur phone number I entered the the number but put the last 2 numbers backwards. it sent me a password I used it to enter the the site. but later that day when I went to enter the password it did not work and I wrote down password. so I said let me check the trans actions on my card and when I did they had charged a dollar when it eas supposed to be free I saw nothing sayin one dollar fee. then I automatically tryed to cancel the free trial and the site would not let me so I called and cancelled the card completely!
I did the same about the 7 day trial.I was unable to view there homes.I went to cancel and was unable to.Stil to tis day there are charging me.
i tried their free 7 day trial and canceled it probably an hour later. i really didnt like what i saw, you couldnt see photos of the homes, etc.
i check my account the next day b/c i had my suspicions and well and behold 39.80 was pending on my account. i wanted to wait till it was posted i dont know why. should have called right away. but when it did got posted i called customer service. the lady i spoke to was very rude telling me it was my fault and i need to read everything.
the sad part is i did and should NOT have been charged. told me i will only get 29.80 back. fine better than nothing.
stay away from them if you want your money safe.
they are misrepresenting data on real estate/mortgage sites which can affect everyone
I was reviewing the details on my house on Zillow.com only to find that it read that my house was in preforeclosure for supposedly missing payments on my house. Found out from Zillow that the information that they are getting is coming from another web site called www.foreclosure.com. Foreclosure.com is misrepresenting data on other sites. I let Zillow know that they should not allow this site to enter this information on Zillow's site. Everyone beware of the foreclosure.com site misrepresenting data on other sites. Bottom line I have always paid my payments on time and have never missed one. Foreclosure.com should be shut down for misrepresenting data.
money, money
I seen this commercial for foreclosures, auction vehicles, listings in your area, etc. just call this number 1-800--------. So i did, and I tried it for 2 weeks instead of 30 days, and cancelled. Not only did they charge my account $59, I disputed it and only recieved $44 credited to me. Come to my surprise, my account was charged by two other sites that were linked to them that i did not sign up for.
www.realty.com / www.foreclosurebooks.com / www.bargainnetworks.com
these three sites are linked together and wll charge you for money over and over again through your accont. and i recieved the most of it back. But I am still disputing for the rest. In the meantime, my account is still being charged from these sites.
i have closed that account and have a new one.
SCAMS is all it is. Do Not sign up for this BEWARE!
Any advice available will be appreciated. Thank you

false advertsing
Foreclosure.com has a picture of my residence indicating it is in Preforeclosure. This can not be further from the truth, my residence is Mortgage free, and there are no leins on the property. I have contacted them repeatedly to remove the picture of my residence, but they refuse. The response I received was that there are eight houses in the picture, which again is totally false. My residence is the only house shown with the entire property. The listing is of course an enticement to sign up for their service, but the damage the photo has done to my reputation will never be repaired. The listing is on the second page of the search by area code 07067. The preforclosure listing is for Lk Ave and if you place the cursor over the Icon on the map of Lake Ave it shows my residence and no other home. The argument I get from their Customer Service is that they cannot remove the picture, I know they can, they posted it in the first place. I wish I could attach a picture, but then I would have to sign up for their fraudulant service. I am actively trying to sell this property and this false advertisement is making that impossible.
Thank You,
Robert Bruder

KeyBank foreclosed on my trust owned multimillion dollar property that had no loan against it; my trust owned it outright and they got away with it:>(
KeyBank forecloses on multimillion dollar home, my home, owned outright and in a trust; it had no loan against it, and they still took it!
Also have a similar issue. Our home with name and address, picture and a filing date is listed as being in Preforclosure. Nothing could be further from the truth. The bank has no record of anything, neither does the courthouse. And nothing misfiled as suggested in some of the other responses to complaints on here. Credit report is also clean. So where is the bogus info coming from? They must just be grabbing names to add content to their website. Trying to call to get it removed is fruitless. Why should we the public have to waste our time trying to fix this bogus info anyway? To me this is clear slander giving people a bad name by using fabricated information.

Sounds like a good lawsuit to me.
my house is not for sale
Our Attorney received a call today inquiring about our house being for sale on a rent to own deal. Our house is not for sale and has not been. The person said they found it on a webside www.localrenttoownhomes.com. We went to the site and found that it is a pay site with a free 7 day trial. However in reading I found several people who were scammed with the 7 day trial and could not cancel.
oh wow! I just went to the site and now it takes you to foreclosurestore.com (which is also mention as a name used in the scams).. But well it has been changed from the day I posted the original complaint.
Because if you type www.localrenttoownhomes.com it takes you to foreclosure.com. Mr. Manager you would know that already though wouldn't you. So foreclosure.com is very much involved that is the company that wants you to do the trial to get the information for houses that aren't really for sale. I feel sorry for the people that have sent money for this.

When I try to login to the site to cancel the free 7-day membership before I’m charged; it states “403 FORBIDDEN”
If your looking for properties that are in foreclosure in your area just go to the county website. Most counties today have the lists of properties that will be included in the next sheriff sale posted there. Free and easy if you have little patience. Sometimes the lists can be difficult to find. If you need a property checked to find if it is really in foreclosure go to www.rentsmartadvisors.com. You can get a property report that shows if there is an active foreclosure.
I am not satisfied with the service and want to cancel before the free membership is over but I am unable to view the site online. the site is unavailable.
I hope it is not a scam
I became a member of foreclosurestore.com wanting to search for homes in my area. I was not completely satisfied with the site and tried to cancel my membership during the free trial period and money was deducted from my credit card after seven days. unsure how to stop more money being taken from me.
Okay, So I been charged $29.80 for 9-months. I Forclosure.Com and they confirmed my cancelation with them. I was 6 days in to the free trial. Then I was told I reactivated my Plan with them. THIS IS INSANE… I KNOW THAT I UNSUBSCRIBED AND CANCELED. BE CAREFUL I WOULD ___________NOT___________ USE FORCLOSURE.COM. I been charged $240 and have not been using it ever since I canceled 8 months back. Its a scam. I see form others posting that you can actually get the listings from other sources that may be free. Just be careful all. We all work hard for our money. I just want to make sure I can warn others and help them from being scammed. Thanks for your time. God Bless. -------

Hardworkingcitizen.Com :)
They bill credit cards and don't provide receipts. This seems intentionally so that the owner may miss their bank statement and not cancel.
I used to work for foreclosure.com and can assure you they are 100% a scam. Charging money for information that can be obtained through any realtor or your local registry of deeds is criminal. Don't sign up.
Manager.
Thanks so much for letting me know about foreclosure.com being a scam... great thanks for the Internet blogs and active users such as yourself.
Man i feel like punching ppl who run ### websites like these who are taking advantage of the bad economy... well not gettin my one dolor... heheehe
I purchased an on-demand webinar on foreclosure.com today and found that I was not able to access it on either a mac or pc. I called the number they provided me for customer service several times and all I could do is leave a message.
