I have gone to Franciscan Health most of my life and have had some billing issues, but this one tops every other issue I have had. I had a screening colonoscopy done that is 100% covered by my insurance. FH billed me $800 for this exam 7 months after the fact and any time I have reached out, NOBODY can explain why I owe this money. I have worked with my insurance and they explained why the billing shows $800. The insurance company told me that FH cannot legally charge me for consumables separately since the procedure could not be done without using them. This is how they get around insurance billing and stick it to the insured. When I questioned this REPEATEDLY, FH just accelerated the collections timeline. My account was sent to collects at 60 days instead of the 120 that is clearly says on the bill. Just trying to bully a payment that is not owed.
