Poor customer service and quality control at Gear4Music – A cautionary tale
I recently made a purchase from Gear4Music and had a less than satisfactory experience. I had my eyes set on a Dean Flying V which was on sale for a modest price of £320. On top of that, I invested in an extended warranty. Upon receiving my purchase, I was immediately disheartened to find that the guitar was fraught with a number of cosmetic factory faults. I was surprised that Gear4Music hadn't detected these issues before shipping out the guitar, as most online retailers usually carry out quality checks before making such deliveries.
I decided to return the guitar but encountered more problems along the way. The instrument was evidently scratched during transit, however Gear4Music made the audacious claim that the scratch had occurred either during my ownership or during the return process. I had solid evidence that the guitar had not been scratched before being sent back, and on top of that, the guitar should never have been delivered to me with so many faults; isn't the retailer expected to carry out the tasks of quality control and detecting issues before the guitar gets to the customer?
To make matters worse, I found the customer service displayed by Gear4Music post-purchase to be extremely poor. The aforementioned scenarios, along with similar stories of poor customer service, have led me to conclude that this company is more interested in taking your money than satisfying customers. I must emphasize that the lack of professionalism and rudeness displayed by the Gear4Music team was very disappointing.
In short, my experience with Gear4Music has left me feeling like I've been swindled. The guitar I purchased hasn't really been played since it reminds me of the fiasco accompanying the purchase, and I wouldn't recommend Gear4Music if you're looking for a reliable and professional retailer.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Gear4music
I recently had an unfortunate experience with the company Gear4music, which left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with their customer service. I attempted to cancel an order only eight hours after placing it, but was told that it had already been dispatched. Given the late hour of my order, I found it difficult to believe that it had been processed and sent out so quickly.
To my dismay, when I attempted to speak to a different member of staff about the situation, they confirmed that my order was indeed "in the van" and could not be cancelled. This inflexibility left me feeling disheartened, as it seemed that the company's policy was simply to not allow any order cancellations. When I asked to speak to the manager of the company, I was given the name "Junior," with no surname provided. The member of staff informed me that it was not standard procedure to share surnames, which I found unprofessional and alarming.
I was unable to get any further information from this member of staff, nor was I able to speak to anyone else about my concerns. It seems that Gear4music operates under the assumption that their customers will not go to the effort of returning items, as I now have to do with my still undelivered purchase. This attitude towards customer satisfaction left me feeling disappointed and hurt, and makes me hesitant to do business with Gear4music again.
I was particularly frustrated by the secrecy surrounding the managers of the company, which seemed to be at odds with good customer relations. It is unacceptable for a customer to be denied access to reliable information or to be unable to speak to someone in authority within a company. It is my hope that Gear4music will take steps to address these issues and improve their communication with customers moving forward. In the meantime, I will be wary of doing business with them again.
Buyer Beware: Gear4music NT1-A Bundle Review - Faulty Mic and Disappointing Customer Service
When I decided to purchase the NT1-A Bundle from Gear4music, I was excited to receive a brand new product that included a mic, a stand, a shield, and a cable. Unfortunately, my experience with the product did not match my expectations. Upon setting it all up, I discovered that the mic was not working properly. Upon examination, I noticed that the pins were damaged and not of equal height, and when I plugged it in, it began to make strange noises, including white noise.
The customer service representative I spoke to was friendly and helpful, offering to provide me with a refund or to send the mic back to them for repairs. I opted to send it back to them for repairs, but I did not hear from them after returning it, leaving me in limbo. Given that DPD informed me that Gear4music had their own designated area for returns due to the high rate of faulty items, I started to suspect that the company may have been selling second-hand items rather than brand new ones.
I feel compelled to caution others against wasting their time and hard-earned money with Gear4music. As someone who relies on their studio for income, I can only imagine how disastrous this experience would have been if the mic was my only source of income. It's disappointing to feel like you've been scammed by a company that should be providing a quality product, and I hope that by sharing my experience, I can help others avoid similar issues.
Nightmare Customer Service Experience: Avoid Gear4music for Hassle-Free Music Purchases
Gear4music is an online music retailer based in the UK that has been in operation since 2003. Unfortunately, my personal experience with this company was nothing short of a nightmare. My issues with them lasted a grueling six months and were extremely frustrating, to say the least.
In 2019, I purchased a Gibson guitar from Gear4music while the Cites laws were in effect. However, the company failed to complete the necessary paperwork for legal permits required to transport the guitar from Switzerland, causing me a lot of hassle and inconvenience. Their lack of professionalism was unacceptable and I was left to resolve the issue myself, through numerous phone calls and emails to government offices.
This is just one example of many instances where Gear4music's customer service left a lot to be desired. In my opinion, they have one of the worst customer service departments among online retailers in Europe. While the prices may be appealing, the potential problems you could face are not worth it. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this seller and instead look for alternatives such as Thomann who may have slightly higher prices but offer superior service and peace of mind.
In conclusion, my experience with Gear4music was a disappointment and I cannot in good conscience recommend them to others. If you are looking for a hassle-free music purchase experience, steer clear of Gear4music and opt for a more reputable retailer.
Poor communication and long waits for delivery with Gear4Music
I recently had an experience with ordering a piano for my 6-year-old daughter through Gear4music's website. At the time of purchase, the item showed as available for delivery within a couple of weeks, which was exciting news for my daughter and me. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when the promised delivery date passed and the piano was nowhere in sight.
I decided to contact the courier who informed me that Gear4music had cancelled my order. When I reached out to Gear4music customer support, they seemed to have no knowledge of the situation. After some investigation, they informed me that the courier had experienced an error and was now returning the piano back to Gear4music's warehouse.
At this point, I was told that I would need to wait two weeks for the piano to return to the warehouse and another two weeks for the item to be dispatched back to me. The customer agent I spoke to advised that their manager had given no alternative solution, leaving me with no choice but to wait.
Unfortunately, the waiting game was even longer than I anticipated, and after almost 4 weeks of waiting, I logged into Gear4Music's website only to find out that my order had been cancelled without any communication whatsoever. Needless to say, my daughter and I were left in the dark, and she asks every day when her piano will arrive.
Overall, I found the customer service provided by Gear4Music to be rather disappointing. The lack of communication regarding my cancelled order was frustrating, and it left me feeling like I wasn't a valued customer. If you're thinking of ordering from Gear4Music, proceed with caution, particularly if you need your items delivered promptly.
Disappointing Service and Unreliable Products from Gear4music: A Musician's Warning
I am deeply disappointed with the service offered by Gear4music. After purchasing a keyboard item from their online store less than a year ago, I have had nothing but issues with it. My initial purchase had a problem with the lower keys playing at a higher volume - which required me to make a return. When I received a replacement, I noticed the same issue though slightly less pronounced. I decided to keep the item and continue using it. Recently, the keyboard began producing an intermittent buzzing sound, which I immediately reported to the company. I was informed that I would have to return the item, which could take up to two months - a wholly unacceptable wait time for a busy musician who relies on their equipment.
Adding insult to injury, I do not have the packaging required to return the item safely and was warned by Gear4music that any damage caused in transit would be considered my fault - despite their ineffective solution. In my opinion, this company does not offer reliable products or service for musicians who rely on their instruments to produce music. I feel extremely let down as I was considering purchasing a piano from Gear4music, but after this experience, I cannot trust them to provide proper support in the event of issues.
For any musician out there looking for reliable equipment and service, please shop elsewhere to avoid the dissatisfaction I've been subjected to. I strongly believe that this company does not respect its customers, and will not hesitate to abandon them when they need assistance. I am now at a stalemate with Gear4music, and it seems like they are hoping I'll just disappear. I will not be buying from Gear4music or any other similar supplier that does not respect the needs of their customers and provide proper after-sales care.
Disappointing experience with Gear4music: A review of their customer service and return process
I recently had an experience with Gear4music and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. I had ordered an item that was time-sensitive as it was for a project I was working on. However, upon receiving it, I realized that it was the USB version and not the thunderbolt one that I required. I got in touch with Gear4music to arrange for a return and exchange.
They informed me that it would take 24-48 hours to process the return once they received it at their warehouse, following which, I could place an order for the exchange. However, the return process was not smooth sailing as the couriers they had chosen failed to label the package correctly, resulting in it being delivered back to my house instead. I was understandably confused, and had to reject the package, resulting in further delays.
When the item was finally received at their warehouse (which I was able to track with picture proof), I contacted Gear4music to inquire about when I could place an order for the exchange. To my dismay, I was informed that it would take an additional 5-10 days to process my returned item before I could place an order for the product I needed.
I was understandably frustrated and disappointed with how the situation was being handled, and unfortunately found the employee who I spoke with to be lacking in empathy. He seemed almost dismissive of my issue, and even went so far as to imply that it was my fault for not knowing their policies - despite my argument that I had been misinformed.
Ultimately, I decided that I would rather receive a refund than deal with the lengthy process of a return and exchange at Gear4music. While I understand that every business has its policies and procedures, I was disappointed in how Gear4music handled the situation, and found their customer service team to be lacking in empathy and understanding. I have since placed my order with a different vendor in the hopes of receiving better service.
Underwhelming VIP Sale at Gear4music: Misleading Marketing Practices?
I have had the pleasure of purchasing a few items from Gear4music and I must say, my experience has been overall positive. One thing I found interesting is that upon creating an account, I automatically became a VIP member. While I don't necessarily feel like a part of some exclusive club, I do appreciate the gesture.
Recently, I received an email informing me of the VIP sale, which would supposedly grant me better prices on items than non-members. Intrigued, I logged into my account and found the guitar I was looking to purchase with a VIP sale banner. Assumedly, I thought a discount would be applied at checkout. However, to my disappointment, there was no discount. I even double-checked after logging out of my account, and a minuscule price difference of ?4 or 0.47% off a guitar costing ?849. This was in stark contrast to the listed up-to-30% sale on the item. Needless to say, I felt misled by their marketing practices.
I wrote to them through their website's contact form, but unfortunately, I did not receive a response. Frustrated, I resorted to tweeting my concerns to them. Although their response wasn't what I hoped, their promptness was appreciated. They explained that discounts on everything are unrealistic. While I understand this point, a discount of less than half a percent felt more like a joke than a discount.
Overall, my experience with Gear4music was underwhelming, and I have decided to shop elsewhere. However, I must commend them on their initiative to reach out to me and offer me a proper discount on the guitar I wanted. It was a pleasant surprise, and it has restored some of my faith in the brand.
Gear4music Review: Disappointing Experience with False Advertising and Poor Customer Service
I recently tried to purchase an Ibanez JEM guitar from Gear4music, but unfortunately my experience was not a positive one. They charged me for the guitar, but then delivered an Epiphone acoustic instead. When I contacted them, they arranged for me to return the incorrect guitar, but then I waited for an email about the location of my actual order which never arrived. After multiple phone calls, I was told that they did not have the guitar in stock, despite taking my money. However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered another Ibanez guitar from them. They suggested they would use the money they already had to order this guitar, giving me a credit note on my Gear4music account. However, a few days later I was informed that I owed them money for the guitar, even though they had said they would use the original payment. I was wary of their administration at this point and did not want to pay anymore until it was sorted, but when the next guitar arrived, it did not work properly. I returned it without paying another penny.
My emails to the company received no replies and I felt that they only contacted me when they wanted money. Furthermore, I was suspicious of their stock as they seemed to have run out of guitars that they had advertised as being in plentiful supply. Lastly, I suspected that their guitars were either seconds or refurbished, as faulty guitars were being sold at full prices. Despite claiming to have become one of the biggest and most affordable guitar retailers in the UK, I personally do not recommend Gear4music and I advise others to avoid them.
Negative Experience with Gear4music: Unreliable Recommendations and Poor Customer Service
When I was looking for a 4-speaker setup for my festival booth, I stumbled upon Gear4music. Unfortunately, my experience with them was far from satisfactory. Every time I called their customer service for advice, I was given recommendations that were either incompatible or unsuitable for my requirements. It was so frustrating that I lost count of how many times I had to call them.
One of the worst recommendations was a mixer which I realized later didn't have 4 channel output, but input. Another instance was when they suggested a Bluetooth receiver that delivered terrible sound quality and had no low end. Even when I returned the defective gear, they refused to issue me a refund. Instead, they sent it back, claiming that the product was fine.
It's ridiculous that they valued their products over their customers. For example, I was even recommended an XLR cable for the SZ-MIX04 when I needed a large jack cable, and this mixer only had 2 outputs. Moreover, I was told to buy a kettle lead that I didn't even require. Their incompetence extended beyond bad advice, they even charged me a 50% value-free refund on a product that I had returned.
Their negative behavior didn't stop there. They claimed that one of the cables I returned was faulty when that was not the case. It surprises me that a company can have such a terrible approach to customer service, returns and product advice, yet avoided more negative feedback.
In the end, I had to settle for only 2 Thump speakers because their product recommendations were not reliable. I am still in disbelief of the stress and loss of funds I had to bear due to the incompetence of Gear4music's staff. In conclusion, I would never order from them again and strongly urge anyone thinking about it to avoid Gear4Music at all costs.

Terrible Customer Service and Defective Products from Gear4music: A Warning to All Buyers
I am tremendously disappointed with the way Gear4music has treated me as a customer. I recently purchased a guitar from them that was warped and had various other defects. I spent nearly ?800 on this purchase, but when I tried to return it, Gear4music forced me to pay for the return and is now refusing to give me a refund. I find this to be a disgraceful way of treating customers who have placed their trust in your company.
Despite having purchased this guitar well in advance as a Christmas present, Gear4music has informed me that I am now outside of their 30 day policy. This policy is a complete joke, especially since I purchased the guitar so far in advance. To add insult to injury, I was told that it could take up to two months to get the broken guitar back. I am not interested in waiting any longer than I absolutely have to. I simply want my money back and I don't feel that is an unreasonable request.
Overall, I highly advise individuals to steer clear of Gear4music. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. The sad reality is that I am not the only one who has experienced such poor treatment from this company. I implore you to look at the other reviews that are out there, and to take heed of the warnings that have been given. Trust me, you do not want to use this company.
Gear4music.com: Inaccurate Order and Poor Customer Service
I recently placed an order for a Sennheizer HD 25 headphones from gear4music.com. However, upon receiving my order, I realized that I was sent the normal version of the headphones, instead of the limited edition 25 anniversary one that I had been promised. To add to the disappointment, I can purchase the normal headphones for a cheaper price from a store located in my neighborhood.
Not only did the wrong item get sent to me, but I had to wait an extra five days to receive it, despite the fact that gear4music.com claimed to be promoting the limited edition version with yellow pads. This caused me a great deal of frustration and put a damper on my excitement for my new purchase.
To make matters worse, once I contacted their customer service team to communicate my dissatisfaction, it took them a full three days to respond. When they finally did reply, they tried to offer me a measly 10 euro discount. I felt as though this was a cheap way for gear4music.com to sell off their old stock, rather than taking responsibility for their mistake and offering a better resolution.
The customer service representative even suggested that I return the headphones to receive a refund, which would require me to book a DHL pickup and print out their return code. This added more inconvenience and trouble to my already frustrating experience.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with gear4music.com. Their incompetence has caused me to lose trust in their ability to fulfill orders accurately and provide proper customer support.
Disappointing Experience with Gear4music: Delayed Delivery, Unresponsive Customer Service, and Rude Representative
Let me share with you my experience with Gear4music. I came across the website while searching for a keyboard to buy. The website caught my attention as they claimed to deliver the keyboard in just two weeks. Although the price was a bit steep at ?300 as compared to their competitors charging ?250, I decided to go ahead and placed the order believing that a better customer service might be attributed to the higher price.
However, things started getting sour when the delivery date got pushed back twice. I was quite disappointed as I had planned to use the keyboard during a specific event for which I had already made preparations. I immediately contacted Gear4music's customer service representative to inquire about the delay and was told that they could not give me a definite date for the delivery. I then suggested that they should be more conservative with their estimated delivery date, to which the representative seemed unresponsive.
Things got worse when I tried to negotiate a lower price for the continued delay and inability to give a definite delivery date. The representative refused to adjust the price, citing their policies. To make matters worse, my emails were being ignored, and I was not getting any feedback from the customer service department.
I decided to call again and was met with a rude representative who not only cut me off but ended the call abruptly without a resolution. At that point, I had had enough and happily requested that the order be canceled, which was quickly done. To say the least, my experience with Gear4music wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped, and I would advise anyone considering buying from them to do so with caution.

Disappointing Service and Product Quality from Gear4music: A Review of My Experience with Nord Stage Keyboard Purchase
I was extremely disappointed with the service I received from Gear4music when I purchased a Nord Stage in August 2017. Unfortunately, I have had nothing but issues since then, and my experience has been very frustrating. In April of this year, I had no choice but to return the keyboard due to faulty software issues. After over two months of waiting, I finally received the keyboard back yesterday, only to find that the end panel and front casing were significantly damaged, almost as if it had been dropped during shipment.
To make matters worse, Gear4music informed me that it would take a minimum of two months before they could repair the damage. Throughout the entire process, communication from their customer care team was incredibly poor. Despite calling them several times during the two and a half month wait for my keyboard's return, I never received any helpful information, and I was promised callbacks that never happened.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Gear4music or Nord to anyone else. The poor service and damaged product have left me feeling very let down and frustrated, and I would urge others to look elsewhere for a better experience.
Gear4music: Hesitation advised when purchasing music equipment
I recently had an experience with Gear4music that left me feeling quite disappointed. While the delivery process was quick and efficient, I couldn't help but notice that the box my item arrived in had significant signs of wear and tear. Upon further inspection, it became clear that some of the packaged parts inside had been opened and resealed using poor quality celotape--a concerning sign for a supposedly brand new product.
Unfortunately, my concerns were not unfounded, as I soon discovered that the main 8 track I had purchased was missing a button from the third track panel. Despite Gear4music's initial affirmation that the product was indeed brand new, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had been sold something that had previously been opened, used, and then resold at a new price point.
Based on my experience, I would caution others against purchasing from this supplier without doing their due diligence. While their prices may be tempting, it's important to be aware that some of the products they advertise as "new" may actually have a significant amount of wear and tear, or even physical faults like the one I experienced. Overall, while Gear4music's delivery process may be efficient, I would strongly advise anyone looking to purchase music equipment to approach this supplier with a healthy dose of caution.
Bad customer service experience with Gear4Music - A cautionary tale for fellow musicians
I am a music enthusiast and like many, I place a great deal of trust in online music stores to provide us musicians with the best range of instruments and equipment at competitive prices. After hearing some good things about Gear4Music, I decided to purchase a Takamine Guitar for ?1099.00 from their website back in October 21.
Unfortunately, upon delivery, I was disheartened to discover that the guitar's accompanying case was damaged. Without hesitation, I returned the guitar for a replacement. Yet, little did I know that this would be only the beginning of my troubles with Gear4Music.
Weeks turned into months and still, I had not received a replacement case. I was told that they did not have any in stock and had no idea when they would. It has now been over three months since I returned the guitar, and to my dismay, I still have not received a replacement case.
In my efforts to communicate with Gear4Music customer service, I received little to no response. It's like banging my head against a brick wall. It is unacceptable customer service. I've noticed on their website that the same guitar I purchased is currently in stock, yet I am still without a replacement case.
After losing patience with Gear4Music's lack of accountability and respect for their customers, I decided to raise a section 75 with my credit card provider. It is regretful that I did not have a positive experience with Gear4Music and would advise any potential customers to steer clear of this website.
In conclusion, I hope that Gear4Music can acknowledge and rectify their mistakes to provide future customers with a much better experience. Their lack of communication, accountability, and delay in replacements is a disservice to musicians everywhere.
Gear4music Review: Quality Instruments at Affordable Prices, but Communication could Improve
from Gear4music as I have always found their website easy to navigate and their selection of musical instruments and accessories second to none. However, the delayed delivery of my banjo and lack of information about the delay has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Despite this setback, I must say that the quality and sound of the Barnes and Mullins BJ300 banjo that I eventually received is excellent. The craftsmanship of this instrument is evident in the attention to detail given to every aspect of its design. From the resonator to the bridge, every component has been flawlessly constructed to produce a warm and balanced sound.
I appreciate the fact that Gear4music offered this instrument at a reduced price, but I do feel that they could improve their communication with customers. A simple email or phone call to let me know that there was going to be a delay in the delivery would have gone a long way in reassuring me that my banjo was on its way.
Overall, I would recommend Gear4music to other musicians looking for quality instruments at affordable prices. Just be aware that there may be delays in delivery and that communication could be better.
Deeply Disappointing Shopping Experience: A Review on Gear4music's Inconvenient Returns Process and Poor Customer Service
The shopping experience with Gear4music was deeply disappointing, marred by an unclear and cumbersome returns process that made it almost impossible to get a refund for a faulty item. With their returns policy leaving much to be desired, it created nothing but inconvenience and frustration. After only one month, the item I purchased developed a flaw and when I reached out to Gear4Music’s customer support, they informed me that they would need to try and repair my item first before sending it back to the manufacturer for further repairs. In the event that the manufacturer is also unable to repair the fault, Gear4music will eventually send you a new replacement. Their operating policy clearly does not take into account the inconvenience this can cause customers when dealing with faulty products.
To my dismay, it took Gear4music nearly three months to confirm that the item was indeed faulty. The process of getting my refund after that was nothing short of a nightmare. Although multiple staff members were involved, none of them appeared to have a clear understanding of how to process a refund. I was handed off to numerous customer service agents who all gave me mixed signals on what was the best course of action to take. Whenever I tried to get clarification or follow-up on my refund status, the responses I received were evasive or unhelpful, leaving me feeling neglected and ignored. While their customer service agents may be polite, their lack of training can make it quite difficult to get the answers you need.
Overall, I would not recommend shopping with Gear4music based on my experience. With their unclear returns policy and less than competent customer service, they made purchasing and returning items a complicated and time-consuming process. I hope that Gear4music can take some time to carefully review their procedures and improve their customer service in order to avoid frustrating and disappointing experiences like mine in the future.
Negative Experience with Gear4music: Unreliable Business Practices and Poor Customer Service
My experience with Gear4music was unfortunately a negative one. I ordered a piano for a hefty sum of 3000 Euro, only to be told after payment that the item was not in stock and would not be available until several months later. When I opted to cancel my order, the nightmare only escalated from there. Despite my persistent attempts to contact customer service, I was never able to get a response or even a refund for my purchase.
To make matters worse, Gear4music is not even based in my home country of Switzerland. While they do have a Swiss phone number and website, their lack of communication and disregard for customer satisfaction made my experience feel like a scam. I would strongly advise against using this website for any purchases, as their business practices are unreliable and unscrupulous.
Unethical customer service practices lead to a frustrating experience with Gear4music
After going through several reviews of Gear4music, I observed that the majority of them express dissatisfaction with their services. As for me, my experience was no different from the others. In December 2018, I spent nearly ?5000 on some DJ gear from their website. I was excited about my purchase and couldn't wait to get my hands on my new equipment. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived.
After buying the units, they spent over a year in transit between myself and Gear4music (G4M). What's worse is that I didn't receive an apology or an offer of a replacement during this period. It was frustrating, to say the least. As someone who paid a considerable amount of money, I expected better service.
When I thought of the possibility of future faults, I decided to pay for an extended warranty. However, G4M informed me that they couldn't sell me extended cover since I didn't take it out within the first 30 days of purchase. I wonder why they didn't inform me of that at the time of purchase. It left me feeling cheated and at the mercy of G4M.
From my experience, G4M customer service is only great until they get your money. After that, you are on your own. As a result, I have decided never to buy anything from them again. It's really a pity because it's not just the economy that can put a company out of business. It's unethical customer service practices like G4M's that can lead to the downfall of a company. Hopefully, they take note of these negative reviews and make the necessary improvements.
