Let me shed some light here. Used to work for this place, at the distributor in Florida. My job was to defend this indefensible product to the members who called up by the droves to complain. Look at these facts;
Global claims to own 530 properties; a huge lie. It's around 119, give or take. Of those 119, maybe 30 are places you may actually like. More so, some locations they only own 1-2 floors or partial resort.
Global has leases & manages properties all over the globe & can get you into any timeshare: Global does have leases. trouble is, they can't renew all of them. A place you stay at in 2014 may not be in their network come 2015. Manage; maybe, never could confirm it, though. Getting you in any timeshare? Big lie. Presentation says only 3991 timeshares in the world; also a lie. Number is more like 10k. Of that number, Global can only get you to maybe 100 of them.
Global Connections, Global Discovery Vacations, Global Explore International are all one & the same. Don't be fooled. Global Explore is newest name. The older names take all the negative feedback while the new name stays shiny & clean.
Global has nothing to do with your gifts provided by marketing company. Partly true to an extent, but bear this in mind; one of the partners at the Ormond distributor, a Larry Cotelli, owns the very marketing company that provides the gifts to lure in tours. He makes money whether tours buy or not. If they do buy, then it's pure gravy for him. Sounds a bit like an unethical conflict of interests, now does it not?
Global has over 300k members: The real truth? No one really knows. Many people simply give up trying to travel with Global & never pay the renewal fee ever again. Global's very continued existence then is based upon duping new people to join.
Hope this sheds some light. If you own a Global membership & can't opt out because you are well outside the draconian 3-day cancel period, your only option is legal action. One of the easier methods is to dispute your credit card charge, if you paid this method. Otherwise, recommend banding together a large group of disenfranchised Global owners & file class-action suit.
