Global Royalties promised investment returns that never happened. I like many others were convinced that this was a bona fide business that provided clients with investment opportunities for over 25 years. They had a good BBB rating at the time I began dealing with them in 2006. I purchased a pair of rubies and later an emerald to increase my holdings as recommended by David Brooks on the promise that Global would be able to sell them for a reasonable profit at jewelery auctions in Saudi Arabia or Dubai. As stated by other clients, everything changed when we tried to liquidate our holdings. After filing a complaint with the BBB in 2012, Brandon Hall's response was that the sales agreement stated that the client was responsible for the resale and that my complaint was due to the fact that I was hoping to make a quick profit and that Global was actively trying to sell my holdings. It had been 6 years since my purchase and as David Brooks stated it was best to plan to hold them for 5-6 years for a maximum return. After purchasing the emerald I questioned David about the sales agreement regarding the responsibility of the buyer for resale and he said that it was only there to discourage people who were looking for a quick resale and not to worry as my holdings could easily be sold at annual auctions for more than I had paid . I have since been approached by several companies most recently Escade Diamonds in Toronto with offers to list my holdings for a one time cost of $500 or to convert the emerald to a ring for $13, 000 for a better return. As much as I would like an opportunity to sell my holdings I am very wary of telephone solicitation from these companies as they likely have the contact list from Global. If anyone has any information on them I would appreciate it. I have added my name to the list for the RCMP investigation and would encourage others to do so.

Global Royalties is in business to sell overpriced gemstones, not invest on your behalf as they claim, I have lost 1000’s of dollars to them.

These stories all sound familiar! Looks like David Brooks is good at scamming people! We upgraded to a big emerald and have lost thousands of dollars. Is the RCMP doing anything about the fraud committed?
