I bought some leather furniture from Godby Home Furnishings, Inc. for around *** in July . Right away, I noticed that the chair had a worn area. I reported it immediately, and they sent me to different people to address the issue. Finally, they sent someone from the company who does repairs, and they said that the chair and ottoman needed to be replaced. Since then, they have been calling here and there, but it's now December and I haven't received a replacement, refund, or even an apology from the main office. The salesperson feels bad, but their hands are tied. It's frustrating to spend so much money on furniture and have to deal with this kind of situation!

I called the store last week to check and they said my salesperson was busy with a customer and would call me back. But I never got a call or any other update about the furniture being late. I went to the store in person and after 13 weeks they told me it would actually take closer to 20 weeks instead of the original 12. This was the first time they told me that. If you decide to buy from this company, they will give you the runaround, not keep you informed about your order, and leave you hanging. They say this wait is "normal," but I would never recommend this business to anyone.

I totally agree with John R. I ordered from Godby in early October and they said I'd get my order in late November. I had to call them 4 times (each time they said they'd get back to me) just to find out there's a delay. They then said it would be early January. But here I am, still waiting with no word about my order. I emailed Godby through their website's "Contact" almost 2 weeks ago, but no response. I get that the furniture industry has delays, but I don't get why Godby has such bad customer service. Even if they don't know when I'll get my order, a simple phone call from them would be nice. I paid in full in October and it's been over 3 months with nothing to show for it. Once I finally get my furniture, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

I bought a couch in September , and it got delivered in November . But guess what? In January , the recliner part of the couch broke. Can you believe it? The seat in the middle is literally split in half. This couch cost me $5000, and it's supposed to be a good quality one. But it couldn't even last for two months without breaking. I let Godby know about the issue in January, and they told me to contact their repair service, Tri County Furniture Repair. It took them three whole weeks just to come and take a look at the couch. And you won't believe what happened next. The technician rang my doorbell, peeked through my door window, and then left in just one minute. I have it all recorded on my ring doorbell, so I have proof. So, after I called and complained, and even went back to the store to express my frustration, the repair company said they can't come back until the end of February. Can you imagine? It's like they don't care about their customers at all. A good company would have replaced the couch since it broke within 90 days of purchase. They should have taken responsibility for selling faulty furniture. This is the second time we've bought living room furniture from Godby in the past six years, and I swear I will never buy anything from them again. They haven't even bothered to apologize, and the staff and manager treated me so rudely.

The chair cost $978.96, the service contract was $79.95 (from Guardsman ***), delivery was $99.95, and tax was $81.12. The chair is called "the beast" and it has a weight limit of 500 pounds. My weight is around 290 pounds. The chair is made by the best in *** (not sure about the spelling). The original seat *** was replaced, but both the replacement and the original have worn out, according to the service tech from Tri-County Furniture Service. I need another ***.

They said they were waiting to hear from the manufacturer. It's now May 2022 and we've been calling them twice a month. They keep saying 'they are waiting to hear from the manufacturer'. It seems like they don't want to honor the warranty.

They said none were in stock. We put $200 down and was told possibly a month before the sofa would come into the store. Then on December 3 the same flyer appears in the Indiana Star again. I called the store to determine if our sofa was in the store to be delivered. I was told no. They still didn't have the sofa, didn't know when the sofa would be at the store for delivery to house. I asked when. A month or two or six, we don't know. Then why was the flyer in the paper again. This seems like a scam to me to get customers in the store to buy somethin' else. Why continue to advertise a sofa at that low price when they don't know when if ever the store will receive the sofa. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund that I have yet to receive.

We reached out to the store and the warranty department multiple times. Finally, after a lot of back and forth, we managed to file a claim. However, we had to pay them more than $200 upfront just to get on the schedule for a repair. They charged us for labor and the potential delivery of parts needed for the fix. We've been trying to contact the "service department" several times, paid for labor in advance, but still haven't been able to schedule a repair appointment. Dealing with this sectional and the customer service at Godby Home Furnishings has been nothing but a headache. It's absolutely ridiculous that we had to pay in advance for services that may or may not be provided in a timely manner. While this isn't a major issue, it's definitely annoying. At this point, their business practices could be considered unprofessional and fraudulent. We understand that our sofa is no longer covered by the full warranty, but it should still be eligible for replacement parts. Considering the high price we paid for it (around $3700), we believe they should honor their commitment to the remaining warranty. Moreover, we've never had to prepay for potential services before. After the visit, they said they would repair it, but the agent claimed the back of the couch was wet with dog urine. This is not true and the tech didn't mention it while he was here, so we don't know why he thought that. I explained again that because of their unprofessionalism and having a couch that failed within a month of delivery, I wanted to return it because it's a lemon. They refused and now say the couch must be steam cleaned, even though there was no urine since the tech didn't bring it up. This is not acceptable. I want Godby Home Furnishings to retrieve their broken property for free and give me a full refund, minus the original delivery charge, because they sold me an inferior product that was broken when it arrived. I also bought an extended third-party warranty that was misrepresented at the time of sale. The salesperson said the coating would make water bead up and roll off the couch, so it wouldn't stain or stay wet. But when I talked to the agent after being falsely accused of having urine, they said that wasn't true and any fluids would soak in. This is misrepresentation, and I want a refund for that too.

These furniture pieces were made by a company called FLEXSTEEL. The salesperson at Godby told us that Flexsteel is one of their best lines. They also recommended getting the extended warranty from GUARDSMAN, which would cover both units for an extra 5 years. Both units have recliners, but the padding in the seating and back areas became flat within a year. We contacted GUARDSMAN, who then told us to contact Flexsteel because the issue was still under the manufacturer's warranty. So, we called Godby and they said it was out of their hands. Can you believe that? Now, we're in our second year and the problem has only gotten worse. We called GUARDSMAN again and they told us to call Flexsteel, the manufacturer. I did, and here's what they said word for word: "Thanks so much for your email! You'll want to contact the store where you bought the furniture to get the replacement parts and service you need. Your retail store would have all the documentation regarding your purchase. If your store is no longer in business, you can find another retail store that sells Flexsteel by going to the Flexsteel website and clicking on 'find Flexsteel.'
