I ended up having to uninstall the app and reinstall it due to a system update
I ended up having to uninstall the app and reinstall it due to a system update. When trying to create a profile again it wouldn't accept my phone number. Normally I would say its something wrong with my device but I have verified with my phone number on numerous occasions. I even ensured I deleted the last profile just for good measure but their app will not accept it. After 2 weeks of trying and they not having any real customer service contact I re-uninstalled and canceled the subscription. I wouldn't recommend them even if they are the most popular since it seems like they don't actually care about helping their client base.
Banned without a warning on grindr for absolutely no reason
Banned without a warning on grindr for absolutely no reason. They won't provide me with the reason as to why I was banned and the closest thing I could think of is that I had a joke in my bio about a sugar daddy and they replied to my support requests by telling me I was banned because of soliciting or advertising prostitution. I've been trying to get my account unbanned for about a week now and I keep getting the same automated responses. What upsets me most about this is that there was no warning or any chance for redemption and now I can't even create a new account because my email was apparently tied into my vpn so I can't create any kind of account with the app. They won't explain to me why my account was banned and they just keep saying the same things over and over again. I tried telling them it wouldn't happen again and they replied to that extremely rudely saying I shouldn't have done it in the first place. Well how was I supposed to know not to make a JOKE in the first place!?
AWFUL! Both of my iPhones were BANNED for life for nothing
AWFUL! Both of my iPhones were BANNED for life for nothing... I violated no rules, they won't tell me what on my profile violated the rules. They keep saying my account was reported and they take reports very seriously... but just because someone reported my account doesn't mean I actually did anything wrong.. I could have turned down the wrong person and they were spiteful for all I know! All I asked for was an explanation and they couldn't give me one, just kept saying the ban will NOT be lifted... After I cancelled my subscription, due to my account being banned, they CHARGED me $20 the next morning! And they then told me in the email they have a right to ban my account and deny a refund... On top of all that, I can't even sell this phone as in perfect working condition any longer, bc the IMEI number is banned from Grindr... All my friends are gay, so what gay man is going to want to buy an iPhone that can't even use Grindr?! This is complete and utter BS. This new "Device Ban" policy is trash and CLEARLY *** off a lot of customers. I've been using Grindr for years and then suddenly, I'm reported so I'm gone. Yeah that fair.
I was banned on grindr multiple times and I don't ever know why
I was banned on grindr multiple times and I don't ever know why. Every time I try to reach out to them they never respond to me and I personally think it's because people on the app themselves disagree with me not wanting to 'hookup' with them. The first time I emailed them they didn't even respond for almost *** near 6 months and I just think that's absolutely unfair and their response was that I was "impersonating" therefore I'm posing as somebody else which I don't understand because I linked it to my Instagram account which is ALSO mine and I've taken Live Photo's on the app with my face in it! I don't understand what I could possibly be doing wrong. I've blocked people that have catfished me or tried catfishing me! I don't hate the app but I shouldn't have to wait for so much time for a ridiculous response. I'm literally just a 20 year old gay guy trying to live my life and meet new people. I finally started conversing with someone and CLICKED with someone and I literally woke up the next day to my account being banned for whatever reason! It's not easy out in this world now a days. I just want my account back. Please and thank you.
Banned without warning for OnlyFans
Banned without warning for OnlyFans.
I started using OnlyFans in January for extra income. Then Covid happened and I lost a job and really needed the money. I had a link in my bio for months. I didn't really promote it other than that. I still used the app to talk to people, met up with a guy or two. Then out of nowhere about a week ago in May, I find out my account had been banned. I thought ok, someone got mad I wasn't responding and must've reported me or something. So I ask Grindr why I'm banned and they say apparently I'm spamming people just for having the link in my bio.
Ok, I didn't know that was against the rules. They didn't even give me a warning. The customer service rep kept telling me they don't have to give me a warning and that the ban won't be lifted, even when I offered to not do it again. I've been a Grindr Plus user before too. I just can't believe me having a link in my bio is somehow ban worthy, but there are plenty of meth heads on the app soliciting the sale and use of crystal meth. Yet their accounts are not getting deleted.
I think the Complaintsboard.com or maybe even the FBI should investigate Grindr and why they're allowing people to promote illicit drug use, and banning users for having a link to another social media account.
Banned my account and would not tell me the reason why
Banned my account and would not tell me the reason why. I filed a support request and supposedly an actual person reviewed it because the response was from "Katie from Grindr" and it was basically just repeating what the automated email said, that they take the community guidelines "very seriously" and then repeated the guidelines without actually telling me which one I allegedly violated. One the list of guidelines was "mentions of drugs or drug paraphernalia (including emoji)" what? As far as I'm aware there is no emojis of illegal substances so I'm confused on what that is supposed to mean. Are they gonna ban someone for doing what, putting a maple leaf emoji because they think that's alluding to substance use? What if that person is just Canadian? And then at the end of the email she said "I regret to inform you that the ban on your profile will not be lifted" and gave absolutely no explanation as to why or which of the listed guidelines I supposedly violated. All my my interactions with the support team have been an absolute joke. I was actually about to upgrade to the paid version, but after this experience I'm going to advise my friends to stay away from this app and use other dating apps that don't ban their users for no reason with no explanation. It's a shame because I liked that Grindr was more LGBT+ inclusive, but that doesn't matter when it's being run by a support team that does not know how to properly enforce their own guidelines.

Account banned on no solid reasons It happened to me three times until now, I don't think I've done something bad or that bad, considering how the community works and people socialize on Grindr, to be in fact suspended the day I was celebrating my birthday. First time when it happened, I had a chat with somebody from Grindr stuff from who I got an explanation that looked like a formal message, where I understood I was accused of prostitution, involved in drugs or things like this and finally forgotten until my birthday. Life moved over and I created a new account, but it worked with this email, I have used for the first account I had suspended, probably because the other one was created via Facebook. From the first situation I already started to think about Grindr's image awful things because I can call it just an act of hate; where in the end I overreacted because of my personal life where I receive this common type of rejection and probably reports from other users where this stuff from Grindr assume probably too far things while I consider they don't translate my native language and chats where I am reported. Anyway, I can't understand everybody, since I barely understand why this is common, especially about this situation and I literally feel things are not fair. I eventually can correct my behavior as user of Grindr but not knowing my exact mistakes and why I got here, this is discrimination and I have ten fingers to point it here. Not especially affected because it came on my birthday, like somebody waited the exact time to increase a negative level on my well-being, but since it preoccupy me this much I can evoke this repeated act, as suspending my account with no real reasons disturbs me a lot. I also needed to talk about this and to look for help so I asked on a romanian website what should I do but people tagged me as they, Grindr stuff, motivated my suspension. I think it got too far. I blame Grindr for discrimination and ignoration, my inside thoughts might say somebody is joking on me and is working for Grindr, anyway... I don't care about the reasons it is happening but I need them to respect the law, also the local law and basic human rights like freedom to speech in good manners. I never asked for money or I never did sex for money or did anything illegal on their platform. I have mixed feelings about the solution. It is obviously required to analyze again my activity and to use an authorized translator and see what we are talking about! There is unfortunately no time left for a simple apology and if they see I was all this time right, I will continue to call them unfair, ignorant and unforgivable. The last account, created with Google account has barely 10 chats and almost no pictures sent and for sure nothing nude. The last account stayed less than 24h online until suspension... and I am really curious for what reason. I will fine a complain at National Council for Combating Discrimination România.

Grindr blocked me suddenly with no warning, for a completely untrue reason, and after 2 apparently automated replies from them, refused further contac On October 5 Grindr blocked my account. When I placed a complaint to request why, I got a message (which I later realized was automated) saying my profile had been "reported for engaging in hate speech or discrimination". I was shocked because this is absolutely UNTRUE. There is NOTHING in my profile that mentions race, color, nationality , or the putting down of any group, ethnic or otherwise. I replied to Grindr and pointed this out, and asked what was in my profile that they did not like. I asked asked for specifics, and offered to change my profile (which had been the same, with no complaints before, for at least three years). I also mentioned that someone had sent a rather unfriendly message to me earlier that day about my sexual preferences (again, nothing about race, color, etc), a message to which i did not reply. I told them that I thought this person might be saying untrue complants about me, perhaps for spite. For my troubles, Grindr sent me another apparently automated reply, then blocked me from further correspondence with them (completely uncalled for, since both my emails to them were nothing but polite). I think this person said ugly things to Grindr about me for spite, and instead of Grindr actually reading my profile and verifying that there is NOTHING ABOUT RACE AND NOTHING ABOUT HATE in it, they just just blocked it. They gave me no fair hearing, no chance to change anything they did not like, and no chance to notify people I have been in contact with (some of whom are Military overseas), who now probably think i am blowing them off. As a related concern, they sent me an email reminding me to stop any automatic membership payments to them. It seems to me that this is an attempt by them to cover their tail for continuing to charge people even after they have blocked their membership, such as if someone forgot to turn off the automatic payments. It would seem to me more ethical to the consumer if Grindr quit taking their money the day they block a member. Finally, I would like to say how surprised I was at how many people have complained to the Complaintsboard.com for the exact same issue: Grindr blocking people with no warning, no justified explaination, and no recourse.

I was banned without warning, reprimand, or explanation on realization of the ban
I was banned without warning, reprimand, or explanation on realization of the ban. They refuse to discuss the ban, and this is my first in *** I have had Terms of Service violations before, whether I use a word they don't allow, or they don't approve of a photo that I have uploaded publicly, and I understand. But over the last year, because of the pandemic, I have hardly been using the service because of the pandemic, and still managed to get banned. I have an inkling as to the reasoning behind my ban, but because of their refusal to communicate, I have no idea if this is a permanent ban, what I have done to cause the ban, or how to avoid it in the future assuming it is not a lifetime ban. On being banned I did open a case, and I received the following respose: "We know that it is upsetting to be banned and we understand why you would want more information on this, however, for privacy and safety reasons, we cannot provide any more specifics about why your account was closed." I am not sure what privacy or safety reason they are citing, I opened the case with the email address that the account was under and they sent the reply to that same email. They also said "As this decision is final, we will not respond to further inquiries about your account. We appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best." So again, I cannot get any information on the cause of the ban, I cannot access my account, and I cannot get confirmation on my assumed transgression. From what I understand, in the last year Grindr has been taking a zero tolerance policy on any transgression from any user. Grindr was also purchased by a new company, and I hate to say it, it feels like they are trying to unreasonably regulate the actions of queer people. We all know what Grindr is and what it is used for primarily. A company lead by a heterosexual person is seemingly ruling with an iron fist. I will be attaching a forwarded copy of the email I received to my *** email address, the email on the account, to show their full response and my initial inquiry. If my account cannot be restored, I would at least like to know if I can ever sign back up without my having an account being a violation of the Terms of Service, and what caused the ban in the first place, so if I am allowed another account I can avoid making the same mistake. Thank you.

Company closed account claiming a TOS violation on 2 accounts with in 1 day of using
Company closed account claiming a TOS violation on 2 accounts with in 1 day of using. One account had not even been used. Creating around a $500 loss Overnight on September 29 my unlimited account was shut down for a claim violation in terms of service violation. On inquiry enjoy the nature of the violation I was not given any response other than it violated this one section of their service terms. My Account was the banned. Upon learning of this I asked for resolution and inquired as to the nature of the van received a pre-generated email with no explanation. I created another account purchase a subscription and use the product and later within the hour have it shut down for a timer service violation. There was no trauma service violation associate with this account there was no use on this account other than reviewing profiles new messages were sent them pictures were loaded nothing there violated the terms of service. Again I'm Inquired as to the nature of the violation and one specifically what it was and receive an email back stating a generic blanket email I said you violated The terms of service. I believe I'm being harassed and I notified them of this by another user of their site there is no other way to notify Grindr of any information they do not have a phone number that they can call or they have a resolution center. The terms of service said that they have the right to remove any account or any profile that they believe to be in violation of the terms of service but do you give no insight as to what violation means. I spent over $500 with this company in the past five years and I know how to forfeit upwards of $370 because of their alleged violation of the terms of service I believe that this is just a money grab. for themselves. They go around closing accounts for alleged service violations do not explain what they are in close accounts and the remaining balance of the money paid is kept buy them. I believe that by not having a resolution session they are supporting harassment of the community based on is it a complaint that is either unfounded or manipulated and shutting down accounts with no discussion allowed. It's a shame that they are taking advantage of the homosexual community is this and it is prevalent as this is I am not the first person to this is happened to. They are stealing money from people who are just trying to have fun and they don't have to answer to anyone.

Banned from the service, I believe by mistake A couple of months ago, I was assaulted by a guy who I meet on Grindr, and who stole a considerable amount of money from me. That very night I went to the police, reported the assault, and also updated my profile description to warn other users of the existance of a thief in the area. I didn't include any physical description of the thief: only a general warning to other users. I thought that was the responsible thing to do. A few hours later one of my old pictures was blocked (a picture no depicting nudity, just torso), and only some minutes afterwards my account as a whole was banned. I contested Grindr's decision and I waited for a month, with no answer. I sent a new form to Grindr and waited for another month, and still no answer. That's why I come to this tool. I believe this was a mistake. I don't know whether the thief denounced my profile to get me banned and unable to find him, or whether because I updated my profile's text someone at Grindr's paid also attention to my old pictures (previously accepted and approved by Grindr, months, if not years ago). I've been a quiet and loyal Grindr user for more than a decade, reporting spam and scam profiles, and enjoying this network very much. I am aware of the relevance of keepping a social network in a healthy condition, and I also understand that some mistakes can eventually happen. I also reported me being assaulted to Grindr, and the area in charge of dealing with this matter was very helpful. I thank Grindr for that. However, I can't report my assaultant's profile,as requested, as I am still banned from Grindr. Also, eventually the police identified my assaultant, and his details have been passed *** court, so I hope this person will stop robbing their victims when meeting through Grindr. I genuinely think that I was banned by mistake. After been banned for 2 months I would love to have my profile reinstated. Also, if someone can explain to me the reason of being banned it would prevent me to make the same mistake in the future (if that was a mistake on my side). I read carefully Grindr's guidelines and I can't understand the reasons for the ban. Moreover, I recently moved from the UK to Spain, so my Grindr profile was a way to keep in touch with some friends. Being banned has meant that I was not able to contact my Grindr friends, which, after 2 months, is starting to be an issue in my life. Many thanks for your attention

My account and device have been banned due to an abuse of their ban policy by another user, and I have had no follow-up at all from customer
My account and device have been banned due to an abuse of their ban policy by another user, and I have had no follow-up at all from customer support. I have been using Grindr for years without issue. Recently, another user offered money in exchange of sexual services and, after some back and forth conversation, threatened to "report and get me banned on the grounds of soliciting" for not accepting their proposal. I know for a fact that this person has contacted other users in my city with the same offer and has had the same kind of reaction when turned down. A few days after that, I found that both my account and my device got banned from Grindr servers, meaning that I cannot even create a new account with the same device. I believe that the ban was instated without proper consideration, as anyone processing that report carefully would be able to see that I did not ask or accept money from that user, nor advertised sexual services on my profile. My exchanges with that user did not violate Grindr's terms of service, community guidelines or local (Canadian) law, even if I briefly considered his proposal. It seems hardly fair that I should be punished for someone else's soliciting. Furthermore, the practice of IMEI (device) or IP banning is not mentioned in Grindr's terms of service, takes away from my device's resale value and I intend to take legal action if a satisfactory resolution is not reached. I have contacted Grindr support and explained the situation in detail. It has been over a month and no one has followed up, not even the customary auto-generated reply. I have seen many customer complaints regarding accounts and devices being banned without any explanation, and I feel that filing a complaint through this channel might be my only resort. The company has been nothing short of disrespectful in the way it treats its users. I use the app to engage with my community in the small town I live in, which is especially important during the current pandemic, and nothing I have done warrants the ban. I would like my account to be restored or a very good and detailed explanation of why it cannot be done. And, in either case, a complete lift of this preposterous device ban. Following is the information regarding the banned account and my most recent ticket number. Profile ID: ***. Registered email: ***@gmail.com. Device type: Android. Location: Victoria/Canada. Ticket number: XXXXXXX. Ticket created on: 09/17.

Grindr Account suspension I have been banned from Grindr without violating their community guidelines or committing any offence
Grindr Account suspension I have been banned from Grindr without violating their community guidelines or committing any offence. After using the Grindr app for many years, I was suddenly informed two days ago that I had been banned from the Grindr app. I am very confused about the situation and thought it must have been a mistake since I hadn't violated its community guidelines. I have immediately reached out to them, and their team member Diego has responded that I had been banned for violating the company's community guidelines. (Case ref #XXXXXXX). The representative told me that the ban was under their Terms of Service, under section "Our Refusal Or Suspension Of Your Service". They mentioned that my profile has been reported for displaying Nudity or ***, which is not true as I have no nude pics on my profile. They also mentioned they are unable to provide me with more information on who reported my profile and that they will not be removing the ban. I am in a state of shock because I didn't understand what is going on. Coming from a violently homophobic country and working to advance LGBT people's rights in unsafe places around the world in medical research, I was shocked to find out that a company I respect the work they do would suddenly ban me without any reason whatsoever. I truly believe in Grindr's mission to create a safe and inclusive world for all sexualities and gender identities, and I work in Medical research for people with HIV and Prep use. Unfortunately, the same company reached a unanimous decision to ban me from using the app and deny me the opportunity to connect with other LGBTIQ people near me and around the world for no reason. It is not clear to me if anyone reported my account on the app or complained about any inappropriate behaviour from me. I know a friend of mine was banned because someone he refused to meet filed a false report accusing him of violating the T&Cs. If this is the case, I expect to be informed about this and ask to defend myself. I have never gotten into any unpleasant issue on the app or misused it or ever been reported on the app. It baffles me why a single report would lead to my being banned from using the app (that is if I was ever reported since I don't know) and without even being allowed to defend myself. I have tried to receive specifics on why this decision was reached but still, Grindr's representative has not provided me any information on why I was banned and continues to send replies with generic language in it. This situation seems like a severe case of oppression to me, and it is unexpected from a company like Grindr that embodies equality and justice.

Days after renewing annual subscription, account was banned/suspended
Days after renewing annual subscription, account was banned/suspended. No reason given after multiple inquiries. On August 2, I received a notice indicating that my Grindr account had been suspended/banned. I assumed a misunderstanding on someone's part because I have been an active member of the Grindr community since 2012 without any blemish to my account during my tenure. I immediately filed an inquiry requesting further information and an explanation for such an action. I was utterly surprised when Grindr Customer Service informed me that my profile had been reported for engaging in behavior that breached their guidelines. They provided possible reasons for banning an account (such as photos of drugs, soliciting sexual services or mentions of violence/weapons) but did not give specific support for their decision regarding my account. I, of course, responded that my profile did not mention or display photos of drugs, intimate the solicitation of sex, or discuss weapons/violence. Again, I asked for specifics. Without specifics, how can I possibly defend my actions (or lack of action). The third, and last, email I received from Grindr went on to list reasons other than posted content they consider when banning an account, such as moderator actions or reports received from other users. They also reiterated their belief that I violated their community guidelines and continued the ban on my account. If Grindr was concerned about objectionable content, I argue it is far more constructive to notify me of the objection, allow me to explain the misunderstanding, and/or simply remove the content than terminate an 8 year business relationship. I know myself and I know it was never my intention to offend anyone within the Grindr community. Therefore, I have to believe there is a miscommunication at the root of this problem. What appalls me is Grindr's complete unwillingness to engage in a conversation and discuss their explicit reasons for banning my account. I believe it is in Grindr's best interest to retain long-time, paying customers, than it is to terminate relationships with their clients without cause. I have had a paid membership with Grindr for over 8 years and, during that time, I have been a good customer and strong advocate of the Grindr platform. I hoped (still hope) that Grindr would value my being a loyal customer and re-open discussions motivated by the premise that both parties can benefit from a continued relationship. Like any community, we are stronger united than divided. Grindr is a novel and secure place for the gay community to connect, relate and thrive. As an economic and social leader in the gay community, I never expected Grindr to summarily expel members from their community without reason, without discussion, without warning, and without compassion.

Totally shocked about wrongful Account closings when requested help Migrating service to a different device !
Totally shocked about wrongful Account closings when requested help Migrating service to a different device ! Banned from Grindr after years as a satisfied, paying customer; not offered any specific reason for the ban. Not refunded unused subscription. On April 2nd, after many years as a satisfied, paying customer of Grindr services I was astonished to be banned suddenly with no justification other than a form letter response that was pasted and copied onto a chat thread from a Grindr moderator named "***". It cited that the reasons for cancelling my account could include but were not limited to - summarizing - 1) mentions of illegal drugs, 2) use of Grindr for publicity or sexual services or massage and - amazingly - 3) mentions of violence and firearms. I have never committed any of these acts, or any other acts prohibited by Grindr´s rules, a fact which can be easily verified by reading any of my chats or by viewing my profile. I answered ***´s form letter politely and requested that he give me one specific example from my profile that reflected how I had broken Grindr´s terms and conditions. I also asked whether or not it might have been possible for someone to denounce me for malicious reasons (which although possible, would surprise me given that I´ve always acted cordially, never insulting or offending people, and systematically treating them with respect). *** responded with another completely impersonal form letter, including a cut-and-paste response that failed to address my previous question to him, quoting Grindr´s Terms and Conditions 11.3 and 11.4 wherein Grindr reserves the right to cancel at any time if members break the rules. Following reception of the aforementioned form letter which at no time offered me an actual personalized response to my inquiry, Grindr cancelled the call thread and I was no longer able to communicate with Customer Support. At one point in the thread there was a brief mention that I cold claim a refund for the unused portion of the service (about a half year) but when the thread was cancelled I cold no longer view it. So basically, in addition to cancelling my service for no cited or specific reason, Grindr also kept approximately *** of the money that corresponded to the unused portion of the subscription. Desired Outcome I´d like my account reinstated because I was satisfied with my Grindr service until the cancellation. I can only assume that Grindr accidentally committed an error. If my account is not reinstated, I´d like a specific explanation - with at least one, cited, real example from my profile - of why my account was permanently banned. In the event that Grindr continues to ban me, I´d like a refund of the unused portion of my subscription. I would also request that Grindr offer me an actual personalized response and not a cut-and-paste one similar to what I read on the majority of the Complaintsboard.com complaints.

I would like to dispute a ban on my Grindr account On 10/8 Grindr banned my account
I would like to dispute a ban on my Grindr account On 10/8 Grindr banned my account. I was surprised so I reached out to the customer service, saying it was probably a mistake and asking for more insight into the matter. Grindr responded that my profile had been reported for engaging in "spammy activity". They wrote "Guidelines state that Spamming is a no-go. Including attempts to solicit another user's personal information or prompting users to visit outside links." I responded saying it was still unclear what would have caused the ban as I have, in good faith, never conducted or engaged in any activity that would cause a ban. I acknowledged that my account was referencing 2 links, which I never believed was breaching a policy. In fact, the use of links is referred to in the "Be Authentic" section of the guidelines, after "Spamming is also a no-go. Attempting to solicit another user's personal information...", which is misleading as to the type of links that would be prohibited, for the reasons below: -one understands they cannot use external links that breach the policy (hate, soliciting, phishing, ***, etc). It was never the case with my profile. The guidelines are meant to be common sense rules. One expects the rules to be consistent across all social media, people cannot remember the rules of each medium. I had not understood from Grindr's policies that a link that is generally complying with the guidelines would get me banned, as I never posted inappropriate content. -the 1st link was an enthusiastic Wall St Journal article on couples meeting online. -the 2nd link was a gofundme initiative to save ***, the oldest gay bar in NYC. Like many New Yorkers, I was very sad to learn that *** could be taken away by this crisis. I personally have no stake in *** and I am not related to that gofundme initiative in any way. But I support it like many people in NY. I believe the gofundme had been closed for weeks at the time of the ban. In fact, Grindr had previously advertised gofundme initiatives (during the summer's protests) and I reposted some of them on social media. I can't believe grindr bans for what it advertises. They would abide by their own rules. I wasn't aware of engaging in spamming activity by referencing these 2 links specifically. People actually reacted positively to the links. One knew the author of the article, one showed sympathy for ***, one said they were glad I had the link. No one ever warned me about a ban. No one ever reacted negatively. On 10/15, Grindr wrote it "will not be removing the ban from the account due to the breached Community Guidelines." I find the ban (as opposed to a lighter sanction or a warning to remediate and comply) hurtful, unfair and somewhat discriminatory. I have myself reported recurring spammers, mostly bots from what it seemed, offering escorting services. I found that Grindr took no action to stop their illegal, disruptive and potentially dangerous activity. Grindr has many profiles with inappropriate content, so I think that banning me is disproportionate and discriminatory. I think that getting the highest sanction without a warning for being "too sentimental" is extreme, as I understand this is a ban for life. Grindr has a dominant position in the marketplace and has become the one lgbt forum to stay connected, as many of our places are still shut down because of covid. I find that Grindr has a moral responsibility in offering lgbt people who did nothing wrong a space to be authentic like they claim, and they should take some time to better vet the bans. The false accusation of wrongdoing is a shock in itself. Searching the web, I read that many people were also abusively banned with no warning and no possibility for a second chance. I have been a paying member for many years. I have always been polite and respectful to people. I met people across the lgbt spectrum and made some very good friends along the way. I'm still shocked to be deprived of that possibility. I just want my account reinstated.

My account was banded near March 8th. I send 2 tickets and 3 responses before even getting a response. Here is the abridge conversation. Me - Mar 17, 19:12 PDT I understand that right now the timing it probably not in my favor as well but I have not received a response since my account was banned. Can someone please review it to at least give me some detail as to why? *** I added a blip from the TOS*** Grindr - Mar 18, 14:49 PDT Hello, Thank you for contacting Grindr Support. First things first, I would like to apologize for the late reply. We have undergone a wave of activity and we've been swimming in emails. I know it's not nice to be kept waiting, and I'm genuinely sorry for not being able to handle your case more promptly. Our Review Team must ensure that all profile content adheres to Grindr's Community Guidelines and treat every report very seriously. Your profile has been reported for engaging in behavior that breaches our guidelines. These guidelines exist to let our users express freely while also helping us maintain the safe, authentic, and accepting environment we strive to cultivate. Any violation of these guidelines may result in the removal of prohibited content or a permanent ban from Grindr. Prohibited content and reasons to ban an account may include but are not limited to: *** List of TOS Guidelines*** I regret to inform you that the ban on your profile will not be lifted. Sincerely, Grindr Support ME - Mar 18, 17:20 PDT Thank you for responding. I can not imagine the amount of these requests you must receive and number of people feigning innocent when it comes to this. However, each situation is a case by case and should be treated as such. My account was banned over a week ago. I responded immediately inquiring why this happened. I read the terms and conditions based on the FAQ recommendation prior to contacting you. I waited about 40+ hours and I sent a follow-up. After about 6 days I open a new ticket where I asked again what I did to have my account banned. After waiting again I get a response. The response is that the ban will not be lifted but I still did not receive and answer to my question. I copied the TOS portion in my response to make sure you knew I was fully aware of some of the items which could cause a ban. I asked what I did that caused the ban. Sending me a template of what could have happened is not a response. If I am accused of doing something that requires this punishment am I not to know the specific action? You stated you conclusion as finite without any information from the accused party so do that mean I am guilty regardless of a rebuttal? If you are not able to answer my question please escalate the contact as needed please. Grindr - Mar 19, 06:28 PDT Hello, Thanks for your response. We certainly understand your pursuit to obtain more context behind the ban on your Grindr profile. It is our mission to provide a safe and secure space for our users anywhere to connect to and discover their world. Our Review Team takes all reports very seriously, taking into consideration many factors, ranging from public information displaying on your profile to recent moderator actions taken into your profile and the contents of the reports submitted by other users about your account. As previously written, we can confirm Grindr will not be removing the ban from the account due to the breached Community Guidelines mentioned on our previous response. We're so sorry to let you go and wish you the best. Respectfully Grindr Support. After another email back Grindr sent me another link to the community guidelines and has not responded since.
