Hertiage Moving and Storage is now my first call to move anything
Hertiage Moving and Storage is now my first call to move anything. The movers are personable and quick. All out of the box furniture (items) were wrapped; no items were damaged or lost. Bedding and exercise equipment was disassembled and reassembled. Heritage assembled the exercise equipment better than the company's technicians. They also ensured I was happy with the placement of all items. The move time (cost) was 1/3 less than the quote, so tipped half of the 1/3. The movers were worth more than the quoted price, but a girl needs to eat.
Please please please do not go with this company
Please please please do not go with this company. They delivered my furniture 20 days later. All my furniture is broken. All my sentimental plates, China all gone, my fire place, television, console table, bar stools all broken. All my plates and glasses all broken. They ruined my furniture and I feel like a piece of me is gone with the furniture that I worked so hard to purchase and carefully take care of all my life. This company needs to take responsibility and pay me back for all the damage they have caused. Please I'm begging you all do not use their business.
SCAM COMPANY. Quoted me one price on the phone, showed up the day of my move 7 hours late (literally 8pm) to turn around and charge me double the initial quote along with another $5,000 for insurance, which made it prohibitively expensive. The incompetence, rudeness and blatant dishonestly only starts there. Because the movers arrive so late they had to come back a second day to finish the move. After that, my items sit on a truck and don't move for over 10 days. I was quoted a date several times that was postponed for things like my items being loaded onto the wrong truck, truck breakdowns, and more changes of staff that I can count. I called in daily to check the status of my belongings since it is every single thing I own, only to be told by a condescending woman named Barbie that I was calling too much and she would no longer be answering my calls to provide updates. Similar horrible experiences with Michael, my sales rep who stopped answering me the moment something went wrong, all the way up to the owner, who I've spoken to twice and was not only as unhelpful as his staff, but tried to blame me. My items finally arrived in New York almost 2 weeks later. Every single thing I paid the company extra to pack was broken. I had two glass side tables that were shattered, a blue shelf that was shattered, a bent and shattered TV, two broken lamps, a filthy rug (that I had cleaned right before moving) as well as a missing mirror that had been in my family for generations. All in all the amount of losses and damage was just under $13,000 along with the $4,500 they charged me for the move. I was made aware that my items were moved by a single overworked and exhausted person. No regulation, oversight or quality control. After the company said they've never seen damage this extensive in any of their moves, they offered me $700. I learned the hard way. I hope you don't have to. Terrible people + terrible business. May the reap what they sow.
Given a 2 day window for move, was told it would be the 2nd day. The day before never received a call to let me know arrival time. Phoned company and given estimate of time frame and told would get a return call. This didn't occur despite numerous messages and phone calls. The day of move waited the window and no one showed up. I called company and told it would be Saturday before someone could do move. Unacceptable in my opinion. No one should trust this company.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They lied and told me they would get my belongings to me on a certain day. They showed up late to the pick-up window. They placed my stuff in storage without my permission and arrived 10 days later. I had to cancel my flight because of their incompetence. The customer service representative is rude and told me that them putting my stuff in storage was none of my business. The delivery person was also disrespectful. I told him I was missing items and would not sign the agreement; he then filled my apartment without my permission, claiming that he delivered all my property when he did not. When I asked to take a picture of the contract, he refused to let me take a picture or see the contract. Very poor service will NEVER use again, and I suggest you don't either.
We had a great experience with Heritage Moving & Storage during our recent move
We had a great experience with Heritage Moving & Storage during our recent move. From the beginning, communication with the company was excellent; I was able to obtain an estimate quickly and book services for my preferred move date. On moving day, they arrived on time and prepared. All of them were professional and courteous, and they prepped our furniture both carefully and efficiently. It was my first time hiring movers, and I was a little nervous after hearing some horror stories, but our move went off without a hitch. I will absolutely use Heritage Moving & Storage for any future moving or storage needs!
If I could give this company negative stars there wouldn't be enough to describe how awful their service is. I will start by saying it's my own fault because I found plenty of reviews where it said so and I decided to give them a chance. PLEASE learn from my mistake. They are completely unprofessional, they agree on one thing then change it as they see fit without communicating it and then when they finally pick up the phone they scream and yell at their customers when they don't have an answer to your questions. I don't have enough space here to explain our ordeal but you can read it in Google and please do. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with in my entire life and I'm no spring chicken.
Working with Heritage owners to plan and quote the move was painless. The owners and moving staff are very professional, thorough and courteous.
Super service! From the initial inquiry, they were very prompt & professional in answering all my questions. Packing materials were provided. Movers came early and were efficient while being careful in moving all our items. They will even come to pick up the boxes after we are done unpacking. Happy with the overall experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs movers!
I would not recommend Heritage Moving and storage in Florida
I would not recommend Heritage Moving and storage in Florida. We hired them to move a few pieces of furniture from Florida to North Carolina. My husband witnessed the movers dropping our armoir on our staircase, damaging wall and stairs. They seemed ill equipped to take armoir apart. He took pictures and we immediately contacted Heritage. We had to file a claim and the end result was "sorry, you have no proof that the damage occurred ". I spent numerous hours emailing and calling this company without any response from owner. I will add that the guys that delivered our furniture in North Carolina were great. I also want to clarify that this is not Heritage Movers in Texas. This company is out of Florida.
Heritage was very professional in packing and loading their trucks taking our goods to their depot. BUT ten boxes simply disappeared en route to the new house and a number of furniture items were delivered broken. Sigh. Worse, Heritage has not even told us where or when in the process thr missing boxes 'disappeared'.
Throughout my dual career journey, I've relocated over 25 times, yet I've never encountered such a high level of incompetence, irresponsibility, and dishonesty. Numerous empty promises were made to me by a representative who not only provided false information but also assured me that she would personally update me once my belongings were moved from Charleston, SC to Mobile, AL. To my dismay, I discovered from the delivery team that my items had been collected from a warehouse in New Jersey. The losses I faced were substantial, with thousands of dollars worth of tools, furniture, and other possessions gone, and even more items damaged. In the midst of loading, I was informed that to get the remainder of my furniture on board, I would need to fork out an additional $4,000. With the representative becoming unresponsive to my calls after the contract was signed ten days earlier, I was left without options. Their compensation offer for damages was a meager 60 cents per pound, and pursuing legal action in small claims court wasn't an option; only a federal magistrate could intervene. It's crucial to scrutinize your contract for interstate moves, as they initially estimated the weight and volume of my goods, only to later blame me for any misjudgment. I have resolved never to engage with this company again, and the ComplaintsBoard.com has been notified of the entire ordeal. My son witnessed a mover carelessly drop a 250-pound entertainment center from the ramp to the ground, remaining silent as the blankets were removed to reveal scattered wooden fragments. Over 20 items, from Christmas decorations to furniture, were left wrapped in blankets, un-reassembled as promised. The peculiar disappearance of various household items and tools only adds to the extensive list of problems that have turned this experience into an absolute nightmare.

Zero stars
Zero stars. The minimal amount we had moved was overpriced. The boxes and large plastic bins were crushed leaving well packed items crushed and broken. I wouldn't be leaving this review if it weren't for the missing base of my table which has magically disappeared. The moving company releases all claims to an atrocious claims department who cannot even verify if they have received a claim form or any supporting documents 4 days after it's been completed. Now it's been over a week with absolutely no contact from the moving company or the claims department. Will never use again and would not entrust your items to the hands of these people who do not care about anything but the money order. They don't accept credit cards because anybody would dispute this charge!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They lied and told me they would get my belonging to me on a certain day. They showed up late to the pick up window. Placed my stuff in storage without my permission and arrive 10 days later. I had to cancel my flight because of there incompetence. The customer service representative *** is rude and told me that them putting my stuff in storage was none of my business. The delivery *** was also disrespectful. I told him I was missing items and would not sign the agreement he then fills my apartment with out my permission saying that he delivered all my property when he did not. When I asked to take a picture of the contract he refused to let me take a picture or see the contract. Very poor service will NEVER use again, and I suggest you dont.
I do not recall working with a more incompetent company or one that consistently made statements throughout the process that were not true
I do not recall working with a more incompetent company or one that consistently made statements throughout the process that were not true. The initial quote for the move proved to be untrue, in fact was dramatically different. Pick up and delivery dates were rescheduled seven times. Multiple items were damaged or destroyed. A desk, bed frame and a clothes rack were disassembled completely beyond what was necessary to move and only the bed frame was reassembled upon delivery. In fact, the delivery team questioned why these items were disassembled in the first place. Our items were taped with a sticky tape that was impossible to remove and ruined any surface not covered. Both the pick up and delivery required more than one trip, which probably meant more loading/unloading of our belongings than necessary. In the end, the cost of the move went from $8K to $12.5K and with the exception of the delivery team, who did a great job, the experience was frustrating, disheartening and traumatic. If we ever have a future need for a moving company, we will NEVER use Heritage Moving and Storage.
This company its horrible it is a scam!
This company its horrible it is a scam! They quoted me $3100 and I told them that I had a three bedroom townhouse I gave them every item in my house when they arrive they quoted me $4200 extra so I had to leave the items that was listed back. I have been trying to get in contact with them theyve picked up my things on June 13 and did not tell me anything about a 14 day wait. When I spoke with *** she then said *** I have been calling *** has been ignoring me and when we finally spoke she apologize for not communicating well but she still has not contacted me or when will my stuff be arriving. I travel from *** to *** which was 748 *** told me that they normally drive 500 miles a day so Im a little confused as to why my stuff will not be arriving for 14 days. I have been calling nonstop and still have not heard where my themes are at this point I believe my things are stolen I have spoken with *** who was the original salesman I have spoke with *** and I have spoke with *** on my first car to them I have not heard back from them since. This is ridiculous me and my two daughters are sleeping on the floor because we have none of our items I would have never booked with this company if I would have read the reviews prior to them contacting me. I now have to make a police report because no one is calling me back and I still have no idea if my thing even left *** as of yet.
I have moved at least 25 times in my two careers and have never experienced such incompetence, irresponsibility, and deceit in all my life
I have moved at least 25 times in my two careers and have never experienced such incompetence, irresponsibility, and deceit in all my life. I was made so many promises by *** who provided misinformation and assured me that once my household goods were transported from Charleston SC to Mobile Al, she would personally notify me. I was informed by the delivering movers that they retrieved my household goods from a warehouse in New Jersey. I had thousands of dollars of missing tools, furniture, and many other goods that were missing, and thousands more damaged. I was informed after the truck was 3/4 loaded that if i wanted the rest of my furniture to be loaded, it would cost me an additional $4000.00. I had no recourse because *** refused to respond to any of my calls once the contract was signed 10 days prior. They offer you .60 cents per pound for damages and you cannot sue them in small claims court. A federal magistrate is required. Read your contract if its an out of state move. They were the ones who estimated the weight and cubic feet. Later they tell you it was your fault for the mis-judgement. I would never do business with them again and the ComplaintsBoard.com is fully aware of this incident. My Son observed a mover dropping a 250 pound Entertainment center off of the ramp and into the ground. The mover never said a word when the blankets were removed and pieces of wood were on the floor. They also left more than 20 items covered with blankets that were supposed to be reassembled. It was very strange how Christmas decorations to furniture and various household items and tools were simply missing. I have so many other issues I could mention that just add to this nightmare.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I cannot honestly give them even 1 star! But I have to in order to get this review on here. Because our furniture was going to be stored for several months while our home was being built, we were looking for climate controlled storage units. They told us theirs were. We found out that was a lie. They showed up with a small trucks over a period of 2 days, not enough boxes or wrapping paper/bubble wrap. Our things were crammed into boxes and they used my good towels & sheets to wrap our things in. All of our clothing was just thrown into piles in wardrobe boxes so everything had to be laundered or steamed or dry cleaned before we could wear them. Things were not put together in boxes, lamps and clothing together, garage items and our nice household items were jammed in boxes together! Very incompetent and very unprofessional. They leaned our mattresses against some of my window blinds and broke some slats out of the blinds, and we had to replace 2 blinds before the buyers walk through that evening. The driver had an attitude and his workers were lazy. The 2 men who came and delivered our things told us that it would take 2 trips from Atlanta to LA and told us that Heritage wanted them to lie to us and tell us our 2nd load was going to come the next day and in truth, these men were driving back to ATL from LA & at least told us the truth and that it would be at least 2-3 days before they could deliver the 2nd load of our furniture. We have moved many, many times in the 48years we've been married and this is the WORST move. All other moves were labeled boxes and kitchen together, bedroom together, clothing together. NEVER USE HERITAGE! Not sure how they have stayed in business.
Stay FAR away from this company!
Stay FAR away from this company! THERE IS A REASON THEY CHANGED THEIR BUSINESS NAME 3+ TIMES! If you dont have time to read this whole review I want to preface with the most crucial information- I was contracted to have my furniture delivered to me between 5/30 and 6/1. My furniture was not delivered until the late evening of 6/10. *** is extremely incompetent but *** is even worse because hes aggressive and is completely unprofessional and uncomfortable to speak with regarding scheduling due to his aggressive manner. On 6/1, my promised move in date noted in the contract, after multiple attempts at contacting the scheduler ***, and ***, to get an ETA i received an email informing me my furniture would be delivered between *** business days (?!) After 6/1 was promised my furniture would be delivered on a certain day, then I would get a call saying they can no longer deliver on that day. I finally received confirmation that I would have my furniture delivered 6/11, as *** tried to force me to do 6/10 because it worked better with their schedule however I informed him I had a work commitment and I told him 6/10 absolutely does not work for me, so we agreed on 6/11. When I called to confirm on 6/9 *** got very confused and aggressively said they arent delivering my stuff until I pay them, which I already got bullied into paying the full amount after my furniture was collected from Point A. I explained this to him and he said he must have been getting me mixed up with someone elsegoes to show how unorganized this place is. On Friday, 6/10 at 6:00pm while I was at a work event I received a call from a SUB-CONTRACTED MOVER saying they are two hours away to deliver my furniture. He explained no one from Heritage told him that Friday 6/10 would not work and he was not informed that Saturday 6/11 was the agreed upon date. BEWARE AND READ THE REVIEWS! What a horrible company
What a horrible company.. I called almost 2 months prior to arrange a move, a price was quoted for a bed, 2 night stands and a dresser total 4 hour drive, from pick up to drop off, price quoted 1350 with a down payment of 492, the rest due in cash on moving day, they were really nice with the initial phone call when they take your initial payment. A day before moving day, they called to say they can't make it during the 2 day window they initially stated and they "may", come 3 days after the moving day. This place is 4 hours away from my home I specifically took off the 2 days they said they would come. When I tell them this is totally unacceptable they were very rude and basically said deal with it. Now I'm really nervous I need this furniture moved in a small country town with no uhauls available & I must move this furniture within a couple of days. If heritage movers was not going to move my furniture on the date stated they should've let me know before the day prior. I probably aged 10 years, what a stressful company. And to top it off one of the employees *** called me at 6am in the morning, while I'm waiting and cursed me out for no reason. I drove 4 hours from my home waiting in idle praying maybe they'll show up. Maybe I should thank *** for calling me at 6am cursing me out because after that I immediately canceled & demanded my money back. I had to threaten to contact my credit card company to get a full refund. I got my money back and found a mover in my home town that drove 4 hours to and from total 8 hour drive & packed my furniture no damage & fast for only $400, so less than a third of the price. So I saved $950. Then after I read all these other reviews saying the price they give is only an estimate they usually charge more and they don't even use their own trucks, it was a blessing in disguise. Boy did I luck out, because it could've been a disaster. What a misleading company, do not use

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. They quoted everything over the phone and would not come to the house. Then when they showed up and had my stuff loaded they doubled the price. When they brought my things many things were broken and many things were left behind and their reimbursement through their insurance was $45 for a brand new broken treadmill and a bunch of brand new carpets that were left behind. Do your research and choose elsewhere. Their moving guys had no clue how to put beds together. I had to show them and supervise because they didn't even hook up my sleep number bed and turn it on. The moving guy said he was done, and when I went in I could tell the sleep number was not inflated. Upon a quick inspection he still had the pump and all the connections in a box. Plus the bedrooms in the upstairs hall needs to be torn down and re-put together because they did it wrong and the mattresses will fall. They kept dragging their feet on putting our treadmill together and they kept trying to leave. When I insisted they put the treadmill back together they admitted it was broken. This was a brand new treadmill. Their insurance is paying us $35 for this brand new top of the line treadmill. They broke tables and they broke dishes. Total incompetence. The lead mover kept arguing with my husband and I. It was awful! When they picked up our furnishings, they totally drove through our grass and put 1 foot deep gouges into our beautiful yard. Sadly our buyers had to fix that. As soon as they left our house we called to tell them they forgot our three extra large outdoor area rugs we had just bought. They assured us they would go back and get them the next day and when I called them they assured me they had gone back and gotten them. The truth is they never went back to get them and they are paying us nine dollars for all three of those rugs. And the real kicker was that the driver kept trying to take my paperwork from me. I demanded that I keep the paperwork and he argued with me for quite a while. I got to keep the paperwork, which was required on their insurance claim that you had to submit. I was glad I had it, but the ridiculousness of it is that for all of the damages and all of the things they did not bring I get $45.
After making many phone calls, I decided to go with Heritage Moving and Storage out of Florida
After making many phone calls, I decided to go with Heritage Moving and Storage out of Florida. I spoke to *** and he assured me that they were a family business and would provide me with excellent service. He also said that he would be our contact person throughout the whole move and could be contacted if we had any questions. So I gave him our inventory and told him that we were on the 3rd floor of the apartment building. He gave me a quote of $2497, which he said included everything, stairs, gas, toll , and taxes. Well, fast forward to the day of the move, October 6th, we did have an additional 10 boxes than anticipated, however, we were charged an additional $1968! AND, the movers said they weren't aware of the stairs so they charged us $600, which isn't true, *** was well aware of this. AND they charged us $269 for fuel when *** told me this was included in the original estimate! I tried contacting *** the day of the move via phone and got his voicemail. He didn't call me back but sent me a text stating he would look into this and get back to me on the 7th. Well on the 7th , I left several messages on the main number and *** to no avail. Finally, at 5pm, I decided to use a different prompt , the prompt that states your wanting a new quote (previously I had been using the prompt where it states you have already scheduled your move) and the assistant Manager picks up (funny when they already have your business they're not available but for new business they pick up). I told her my concerns and she had asked me the round trip mileage and when I was looking it up we got disconnected so I immediately called back, no one picked up and the assistant Manager didn't even bother to try to call me back. SO FRUSTRATING! On the 8th, I left a text with *** asking him to please follow up with an update regarding my concerns and he never got back to me. So much for "I will be your contact person throughout the whole move". I called the main number using the "new quote" prompt and I got *** who was very rude and not helpful. I asked her to please have a Manager call me and asked for their name and she gave me some lame excuse that there are a lot of managers and she wasn't going to list them all. She even hung-up on me without saying good-bye. As you can guess, I never got a call back from management. There are hundreds of moving companies out there PLEASE DO NOT USE HERITIAGE MOVING AND STORAGE out of Florida unless you want to get scammed!

Heritage helped me and my mother move to *** and they did an amazing job. She was so happy with the care the guys took with her stuff and that is all we really wanted. I appreciate the service and will let others know about your company if they need a mover too.
I just made my second move with Heritage Moving and the guys were great again. They were a different crew than last time but everyone I have dealt with at the company has been very helpful. I recommend you speak with *** because he was the guy who set me up. Thanks again Heritage.
This company is terrible; it's a scam! They quoted me $3100, and I informed them that I had a three-bedroom townhouse. I provided a list of every item in my house. However, upon their arrival, they increased the quote by $4200, forcing me to leave behind the items I had listed. I've been attempting to reach them since they picked up my belongings on June 13, and they failed to mention anything about a 14-day waiting period. When I finally got to speak with a representative, she admitted to poor communication but still did not provide any information on when my possessions would arrive. I traveled a significant distance, and based on their estimate of covering 500 miles a day, I'm puzzled as to why it would take 14 days for my items to be delivered. Despite my persistent calls, I'm left without any update on the whereabouts of my belongings. At this point, I suspect my things might be stolen. I've spoken with the original salesman, the customer service, and the manager, but after my initial call, there has been no follow-up from their side. This situation is absurd. My two daughters and I are sleeping on the floor because we don't have our items. I regret choosing this company and wish I had read the reviews before they reached out to me. I am now compelled to file a police report because no one is returning my calls, and I'm still clueless about whether my belongings have even left the original location.
