Overpriced and poor workmanship
Last year with the heavy rain in that my back yard was getting flooded so I called your plumbing to come check out the stormwater drain and I put the camera down there told me there was a pipe broken near the driveway underneath the garden tap where the concrete was So when they came out to do the job, the cut the concrete and dig the ground up, but there was no broken pipe. The problem was on the other side of the driveway and the pipe stop. It wasn’t running to the road where the stormwater drains there’s no parking whatsoever so that around the pipe to the road to the stormwater drain they charge me nearly 6 Thousand dollars for this job where they cut the concrete and dig that out when it came time to put the concrete back in the job they did. It was unbelievable. It was total rubbish. This is the third time they’ve tried doing this. I can’t believe it very disappointed in. You can see the photos before the concrete look like then after they finished with it. The last image is what the concrete look like before,
I would give them NO STARS if I could
I would give them NO STARS if I could. I had a clogged kitchen drain. The first tech they sent out was very nice. Snaked only part way down, thinking it was a disposal issue, and the drain seemed to work. In the meantime, he pointed out everything wrong with my plumbing and basically suggested a new garbage disposal, new kitchen sink plumbing, and having my washing machine re-plumbed. When the sink re-clogged right away, they sent out a second tech, also very nice, but he snaked down further than the first guy, and reported he couldn't get past 15 ft and suggested a collapsed pipe. At this point, I called my home warranty company who sent out a REAL plumber, who went into the basement, opened the clean out down there, snaked from that point and cleared the clog. In the meantime, Hero ripped me off for a whopping $353 and never unclogged the problem.

Our technician Nathan B. Was terrific. Arrived on time, was knowledgeable and thorough. Most importantly he was Honest which is the most important quality you can find in a person and company. This was the complete opposite from an experience we had with Hoffman cooling and heating who tried to sell us a new furnace without spending more than 2 minutes going over our furnace. Claiming the heat exchanger was cracked but couldn't show us the cracks.
Marcus was patient and thorough in explaining what the issues were and provided adequate options. Thanks for your expertise and professionalism.
Really nice and helpful with my toilet trouble and got it fixed fast
Very overpriced!
Very overpriced! Our shower drained into our kitchen sink and flooded the kitchen. Water everywhere, in the cabinets, drawers, pull outs, all over the floor. The drain specialist arrived in a timely manner and quoted me 3 options. The first was a "band aid fix" -- no, I want it fixed right. So I chose the 2nd option for $888 ( I was in a panic) and didn't realize he would be done in less than 2 hours. It ended up costing close to $1000 for less than 2 hours of work. I realized later what a rip off this was and called 2 other plumbers to see what they would charge. Hero was 3 times the price. We called to complain and was told the technician already gave us $150 in "coupons" that we didn't even know about and the best they could do was $150 refund. Still $850 for 2 hours of work. Stupid me. Don't use this overpriced company, this is how they pay for all those commercials.
Emergency replacement of my Hot Water Heater. I called at 4AM and a very pleasant gal answered the phone, I was shocked! Same day Service, Brandon Sawina was such a gentleman, Professional, he k n o w s plumbing! Very knowledgeable and communicated the issues with me, as a Customer. He did find other issues that were easily taken care of. NO hard Sales, just did what was best for my situation. I am so Blessed! THANK YOU!
The technicians are very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I will definitely stay with them for all my household needs.
Replaced the water connection to my refrigerator. Completed the device promptly and professionally. Explain everything before doing the work and after the work was completed. He did an outstanding job.
Kyle was very good, punctual for arriving as promised, courteous and neat. Did my furnace service and offered some maintenance items but not in a high pressure way.

I had a main pipe clog that caused water to back up through the floor drain my laundry room onto the carpet in my finished basement. I was devastated! I called Hero Plumbing, Heating & Cooling since they were running special on main line cleaning. They sent Brian Wass, who was great! Brian was so kind, friendly, understanding, professional, honest, transparent, and empathetic! Brian has such a positive attitude, which was needed in this overwhelming situation. He explained everything thoroughly but in a way I understood what he was doing, which I needed. He also showed me the tree roots that were removed, which I appreciated! Someone from Hero will be out tomorrow to put a camera down the pipes to visualize the problem and offer options for solutions along with price quotes. I am SO thankful Hero was able to send Brian to my house to take care of the problem today! I would recommend Hero and specifically Brian Wass to anyone who needs plumbing work!
On time, quality work, cleaned up after the work! Very pleasant to work with, and clear about what was to be done, and what I needed to do for the best outcome.?
I only recently began to use the services of Hero Plumbing and am very satisfied with their work. Hero stays in touch, shows up on time and maintains a very effective ongoing dialogue with customers. I will continue to use their services and recommend them to friends.
Very professional plumbing repairman. Great personality and very good attitude, very good at explaining what needs to be done. If this the type of person Hero hires, I'm grateful. Well done.
Trevor was Herr to do maintain checks. He was a delightful young man to work with!

We have used Hero/Uptown for quite a few years, and have had no major problems with them, until now, when we were seriously misled about the need to repair gas leaks. One of their technician was out to do routine maintenance, and he reported several supposed gas leaks. Another one of their technicians then came out and also inspected the pipes, and said he could fix it temporarily for $700. But that to "fix it right" and replace all gas pipes with copper pipes would cost $3500. Wow. So I called Centerpoint Energy to come out and thoroughly inspect the gas lines, and they found absolutely no gas leaks. They also did an inspection last fall, and found zero gas leaks. I also did a soap bubble test on the joints that were supposed to have the gas leak, and found no leaks. I also contacted another reputable plumber for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace all the gas lines, and their rough estimate was about $2000, a lot less expensive. Not happy with Hero anymore!

Was very happy with service. I would call them again if I have to. The price was better the the last company I had.
Chase was amazing very informative and personable. Was very straight about the problem and different options for addressing it. Very transparent which I appreciate.
Alex was very personable, respectful and professional. The price was good and his attention to detail was great.

If I could give this company a zero star rating, I would. I have a property in Shakopee, MN that had a leaky pipe. The tech called me to say not only was there a leaky pipe, but my water softener was bad. He gave me three options for combinations of pipe fix and water softener replacement. The cost to fix the pipe and replace the water softener was $2,425. I wanted a second opinion so I asked if the water softener replacement and pipe fix could be price separately. He argued that "this is how it is done" and if I don't commit to doing everything now, the price would go up to $3K. When I told him to fix the pipe while I call their front office to discuss pricing, he gave me a disgusted *sighand said "let me call my manager and I'll call you back". Bottom line is - the tech was not customer service-minded and charged me $615 for a $150 job (the pipe fix took 15 minutes and $10 worth of material). I called another company to get a second opinion on the water softener and it turns out there is nothing wrong with the equipment. I'm disgusted and will NEVER call Hero again.

Worst experience I have ever had, Lies, cheats, their initial visit was supposed to be 99 dollars, that ended up 199 dollars, Said they needed to scrape drain for 1405 dollars, no fix there either, told me they had to replace the mainline, so that would have been 6 plus grand, a full out war zone of my yard, and wanted me to rush right in I was desperate but wanted to know more, was advised by a plumber I know to have the sewer guy he used, said to see if jetting works. called here back talked to Chase he said yes we could it would be messy, turds in my basement is already messy, He said yes we do it for 2300 dollars, can get to it maybe this week yet, to meet him and sign a contract,. Hmmm let me get back to you called the other guys number I was given, he said I will be out tomorrow ( not Hero ), he got here the next day, ran a snake 105 feet out, Ran a camera out 90 plus feet just to check it cause he already got it flowing, Camera sowed 3 offsets, not bad ones, and a clean drain. gave that guy 500 dollars he asked for 400 told him thank you and I will save your number and you will have more work. So Hero turned out to be a ZERO

Tony, the technician, was fantastic, but I am not pleased that I was quoted $89 from the customer services rep and then was told the cost to clear the drain would be $320 by the technician. I called to get clarification and was told by a different customer services rep that the $89 was just for the service call and not for the actual services. I know the person I talked to previous said the charge would be $89 to clear the drain. It is also worth noting that they are currently advertising a "$93 or It's Free Main Drain Clearing" on their website. I felt like the practice of getting me to book the appointment, thinking I was going to pay under $100 for the service and then learning that it would be twice that price to complete the work is intentionally deceptive. I was in a situation of either agreeing to have the work done or having to pay $89 for nothing and having to wait longer to get my drain cleared. Again, Tony was great. He took time to explain what he did and he left everything perfect. I have no complaints about him. The company, however, is either being intentionally deceptive or it is not adequately training customer service staff to explain costs up front.

I turned my boiler on for the first time this year and it was making an unusual sound so rather than trying to figure it out myself I decided to call a professional. Hero caught my eye due to the low up-front cost and quick service time. The technician was there same day and very pleasant. He proceeded to inspect my boiler for approximately 5 minutes without running and true tests due to a "faulty gas pump" and told me I needed a completely new system. After telling me that, he told me he could install a new gas pump to complete said tests and quoted me nearly $2000. I decided to get a second opinion from a union shop before I made a purchase. When the technician got there he told me that the gas pump goes for around $200. I understand there are labor costs but that is an extreme mark up in price. I then asked him what he would quote me for a new boiler so I could compare with the quote Hero gave me. Hero's basic efficiency boiler that they offer is priced at $9500, while that does include labor and permits, is very expensive. The quote I got from the union worker for the system was $4500. While that price did not include labor and permits, it was less than half the cost. I can only imagine how many people were charged insane prices due to these practices. It felt more like a sales pitch rather than a repair. I was also told that the technicians get a commission for every unit they sell so they have a lower bar to meet to label a boiler "broken". ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!
Predatory practices regarding Hero Home Services (Hero Plumbing, Heating and Cooling)
Predatory practices regarding Hero Home Services (Hero Plumbing, Heating and Cooling). I'd used Hero in the past for my furnace tune-ups and thought they were reliable and reasonably priced. Earlier this week an outdoor faucet broke. I had a hose attached to it so at least it wasn't leaking water, but I couldn't shut off the water at the faucet. I thought I'd try Hero's plumbing service. They sent a technician the next day. He was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. But when I saw his estimate, I almost choked - - $1500+! Apparently, they add $1000 to the cost of their services. I have since received quotes for exactly the same work from other plumbers for $400 - $500, that's how I know. Granted, these other plumbers book out for about a week, but I could've waited. In checking Hero's Yelp reviews, many others have experienced the same problem. Hero seems to think they can just tack on $1000 to the price of jobs. These people need to be stopped! Oh, and the technician made a big deal out of giving me a 5% discount for my military service. Cheating veterans, too! When Hero's customer service person called me, she tried to explain what the extra $1000 goes toward, which is basically supporting their business. She said it covers their 24/7 phone service, well-dressed technicians who've been trained and background checked and "Hero" trucks that are well-stocked for jobs. This describes what every trade business already does without charging customers for their business model.

Wanted to have a better experience with this company, however, encountered many issues: 1) Technician dented our brand new water heater and didn't mention it to us till we brought it up 2) Technician left soap all over floor and walls and water on our rugs (Did not clean up or apologize)-false advertising that they will leave your home looking better than before 3) The technician did NOT follow CDC regulations of wearing a mask or booties within our home (although advertised) 4) Charged us fully without the job being completed (water heater never hooked up) and we had to call to receive an invoice 5) Did not take our old water heater with them (told us a scrapper would probably pick it up), we had to call the company the next day and ask them to pick up as it was part of the service we paid for 6) Caused a leak in a water pipe and covered it up with a shop towel and did not communicate with us 7) Falsely accused to red tape us for a gas leak in our home and shut off our gas when our gas company came out and used all their equipment (not just soap) and verified there were 0 gas leaks; additionally, didn't red tape properly? 8) When spoke to management to verify these complaints there was never an apology for the mess left and, they offered a small discount and for us to work with another company to help clean up the mess We strongly do not recommend this company as they do not follow through on their advertised promises, take responsibility for their messes, and technicians work on commission (overpriced services compared to 3 other local companies).

I am not one to write reviews, positive or negative
I am not one to write reviews, positive or negative. However, I feel that I need to make people aware of the company Hero Plumbing. I had countertops replaced and the local preferred company could not make it to our home in the time of install to disconnect our kitchen sink. I booked hero and they came out on 03/10 to disconnect which was a cost of 325.00 in which we knew the price was high and they also said that we need a garbage disposal and they charge 660.00 if we buy it from them, and if we buy it from another store they would charge a 375.00 hook up fee. We did not decide at that time. The next day our countertops were installed in the morning and another person from Hero arrived in the early afternoon to connect the new sink that we purchased from another store. The guy had less of a personality than the first and took a look and said that he will be back with the estimate. He returned about 15 min later and the high side was quoted at 2700.00 with their garbage disposal and 1600.00 without the garbage disposal. I told him no we are not going to do that, and he said that no one is as good as Hero, I still said no and sent him on his way. I called the local company which we initially wanted to use and they were able to squeeze us in today 03/12 and they charged us 235.00. I did call to let Hero know about my experience and I was told that the reason for the high costs is for ga, phone uniforms, and their ipads...so nothing for the customer. The woman I spoke to did not make a case for their high prices. I am writing this as a heads up for anyone considering using this company. Don't...stay local.
