Im Samantha Harris complaining about my refund of $150 from a daycare.
To Whom it may concern:
My son (Darnell 3 yrs old) has been going to this daycare since late 2015-8/30/16 (Highland Christian Academy). In the past the director (Michelle Brown) has kept us informed on how my son is doing. But the last two weeks since she had back from vacation its been a lot over turn of teachers and uproar around my son behavior like any other parent I was concerned. Plenty of times she would call and tell one of the family members to come get him, we always said no problem.
Then she would make side remarks of he probably need help or need medication to calm him down. I was upset she would say that in front of other parents or scream at me down the hall yelling at me she need to talk to me. (Very Unprofessional & Rude).
But on 8/29/16 she spoke with my husband and stated she was tired of dealing with him and told my Mom-In-Law the same with a screaming match in the middle of the hallway full of kids & parents. At 5:30 pm on 8/29/16 I went to the school to speak with Ms. Brown about my concerns she brushed me off and stated we'll talk about it tomorrow I don't have time right now, I stated ok no problem can you give me the information about the program you recommended so we can get to the bottom of this.
Mind you its when I pay my dues of $140 a week.
When 8/30/16 at 3pm I went to the school to have my meeting with Ms. Brown and Ms. Oliva my son teacher. During our meeting Ms. Brown seemed if she didn't have any concerned on the matter at all about my son needs he's only 3 yrs old (Toddler) . As we went back and forth she kept raising her voice so other people could hear our conversation very unprofessional and embarrassing as a parent. After time went pass I felt better after speaking with the teacher then she left, Ms. Brown still didn't seem pleased with the truth that was told. She made side comments; of parents get mad when there told there child has a problem and speaking to me with her head down like I was a dog. (No Respect Given)
So Ms. Brown left the room for a minute, and so I took it as the meeting was over but no words were said. The nice Caucasian front desk female added mom it's ok, the program is good my son was involve in it. I said thank you for making me feel better because were in gods house but why she treating me this way. (Silence) Ok let me pay my dues of $140 for the week and get him started in the program, she looked at me and stated she put a late fee on your account of $10 when asked to remove it due to the meeting she rudely stated your no better then any other parent NO MA'AM. A heated argument started, she stated I don't even want your CHILD BACK HERE ANYMORE, I said NO PROBLEM back at her just REFUND MY MONEY PLEASE.
She stated that's where there's a problem I can't do that, maybe later when I mail it to you when I get ready. If you didn't want my son here why didn't you just say so, I've paid my money now you say no but on your terms on when I get it back that's not how you do business, she told me to have a blessed day and the conversation was over. I don't get how she gets to keep my money for the week when my son only attended 1/2 day on Monday & 1/2 day on Tuesday (Due to the Meeting) . Now out of daycare and work because of no sitter. Please Help Me, I'm going to call the Channel 13 NEWS.
