I was new to the hitch scene and thought all hitches had 2" receiver. This belief was further reinforced by the fact that non of the hitches sold on the hitchfinder.com web site specified a receiver size. I ordered a class one hitch from hitchfinder and was surprised when it came with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. I called the company and asked what I could do. They looked up my original order and then told me I could buy a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch adaptor. They said I could order then or order on the web. I chose to order on the web because I wanted to see a picture at the time.
When I received the item (actually they sent me a different 1-1/4 to 2 inch adaptor than the one I ordered), it would not fit. I called the company, they said that I could not use an adaptor with a class one hitch. I then asked them to pay for the return shipping since they originally were the ones that recommended this item to me and because the description on the web site did not specify that the adaptor I ordered was for class two only. They refuse to pay return shipping and want to charge me a 15% restocking fee.
Stay away from this company. Actually they have a great tool for figuring out what hitch will fit your vehicle. Use it to figure out what you need and then buy it elsewhere. They claim that they have an easy, no hassle return policy. Don't believe it.
This company owns a second "shadow" business called Acaiberrymaxx.com. The owner(s) of both this company and Acaiberrymaxx are an unethical business.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM - THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!
