Compassionate Care for Mom: A Positive Experience with HomeInstead
They really care about my mom and make sure she's comfortable and happy. They help with everything from cooking to cleaning to taking her to appointments. It's such a relief to know that she's in good hands when we can't be there. The office staff is also really helpful and responsive whenever we have questions or concerns. Overall, we've had a really positive experience with homeinstead and would definitely recommend them to others who need help caring for a loved one.
Homeinstead.com Review: Overpriced and Disappointing Support for Home Care Services
homeinstead.com is a service that I tried out, and I gotta say, it's pretty pricey. I mean, there are other options out there that are better and more affordable. It seems like this company is just trying to make a quick buck off of people who are in desperate need of home care services.
I was really disappointed with the level of support that I received from homeinstead.com. I felt like they were just trying to rush me through the process and get me to sign up for their services without really taking the time to understand my needs. And when I did finally sign up, I found that the quality of care that I received was not worth the high price tag.
Overall, I would not recommend homeinstead.com to anyone who is looking for home care services. There are better options out there that are more affordable and offer better support. Don't waste your money on this company.
Homeinstead.com: The Best Place to Find a Caregiver for Your Loved One
homeinstead.com is the best place to go if you need help finding a caregiver for your loved one. They have all the information you need to make an informed decision about who to hire. We were so grateful to have found them when we needed help with our elderly mother.
The website is easy to navigate and has a lot of helpful resources. They have a list of all the caregivers in your area, along with their qualifications and experience. You can also read reviews from other families who have used their services. This was really helpful for us because we wanted to make sure we were hiring someone who was trustworthy and reliable.
The process of hiring a caregiver through Homeinstead was really easy. We just had to fill out a form with some basic information about our mother and what kind of care she needed. They then matched us with a few caregivers who they thought would be a good fit. We were able to interview them and choose the one we felt was the best fit for our family.
The caregiver we hired through Homeinstead has been amazing. She is kind, patient, and really cares about our mother. She has become like a member of our family and we don't know what we would do without her. We feel so lucky to have found her through Homeinstead.
Overall, we would highly recommend Homeinstead to anyone who needs help finding a caregiver for their loved one. They make the process easy and stress-free, and they really care about making sure you find the right person for your family. Don't hesitate to use their services if you need help with caregiving!
Home Instead: A Lifesaver for Elderly Care
They have been taking care of my mom for a few months now and we have had no issues. The caregivers are always on time and they seem to really care about my mom. They help her with everything from cooking to cleaning to just keeping her company. It's nice to know that my mom is in good hands when I'm not there. The only downside is that they can be a bit expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, I would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone who needs help taking care of a loved one. They have been a lifesaver for us.
Finding the Right Caregiver: Our Experience with Home Instead
Home Instead got a lot of people you can pick from. I suggest you try a few of them before you pick one. We tried three people before we found the one that worked best for us.
Not Worth the Effort: My Experience with Home Instead in Largo
I tried to get a job at Home Instead in Largo. They told me I had to go to a training class for three days, but they wouldn't pay me for it. I also had to pay for my own drug test. They didn't promise me any work, and they wanted me to do everything their way. I didn't really like this company.
Home Instead: A Helpful Resource for Family Caregivers
Home instead is a really good place to go if you need help taking care of your family member. They can help you find someone to take care of them in your area and they can give you advice on things like feeling sad, forgetting things, and having achy joints.
I used Home instead to find someone to take care of my grandma and they were really helpful. They helped me find someone who was really nice and who my grandma really liked. They also gave me some advice on how to help my grandma feel better when she was feeling down.
I would definitely recommend Home instead to anyone who needs help taking care of their family member. They are really nice and they know a lot about how to take care of people.
Home Instead Review: Overpriced and Disappointing Caregiver Services in Southern California
So, I decided to give Home Instead a try for my great uncle who needed a home caregiver in Southern California. I was hoping for a reasonable price, but boy was I in for a surprise. Home Instead was way too expensive for my budget. I mean, I understand that they claim to screen their employees and all that, but is it really worth paying double the price of what other companies are charging? I'm not so sure.
I would love to hear from others who have used Home Instead and what their experiences have been like. However, I have to say that my experience with them was not great. I felt like they were more interested in making money than actually helping people in need. It's almost like they should be called Poverty Instead, because they are not affordable for most people.
Overall, I would not recommend Home Instead to anyone who is looking for a home caregiver. There are other companies out there that offer the same services for a much more reasonable price. Don't waste your time or money on Home Instead.
Home Instead Caregivers: A Disappointing and Unreliable Choice
Home Instead ain't worth the money. We hired them to take care of my mom, but all they did was take advantage of us. The caregivers they sent over were a bunch of thieves. They stole from us and used our washer and dryer to do their own laundry. And they ate us out of house and home. We couldn't keep any food in the house because they would eat it all.
But the worst part was when one of the caregivers didn't even realize that my mom's oxygen wasn't hooked up properly. She was without oxygen for 8 hours! My mom is supposed to be on oxygen 24/7, so this was a really big deal. I complained to Home Instead about all of these issues, but they fired me instead. They said I was "too demanding."
I wouldn't recommend Home Instead to anyone. They don't care about their clients or their families. All they care about is making money. If you want to hire a caregiver, find someone else. Don't waste your time or your money on Home Instead.
My Disappointing Experience with Home Instead: Insulting Message, Poor Fit with Client, and Lack of Training
So, I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with Home Instead. It's been years since I worked for them, but every time I see their ads, it still gets me riled up. Let me tell you why.
First of all, when I called to inquire about working for them, the message they had for potential caregivers was pretty insulting. They basically said that we were all unskilled and could only expect to make $7.00 an hour. I mean, come on, that's not exactly a great way to attract quality employees.
But I decided to give it a shot anyway and they hired me to work with a client who had Alzheimer's and dementia. Let me tell you, it was not a good fit. The client hated having me there and I didn't feel like I was making any progress. After just two visits, I called the agency and told them I wasn't coming back. I could have lied and said I was sick, but I decided to be honest and tell them that I needed to find another job.
Unfortunately, my message never got to the family and the client was left alone. When the owner found out, they called me and yelled at me, even though it was their mistake. Not cool.
And to top it all off, I never received any training in Alzheimer's care, even though the reps on a local TV show claimed that they trained all their caregivers. So, all in all, it was a pretty bad experience. I wouldn't recommend Home Instead to anyone.

Health aide and all management @ Monroe, NJ location
June 6th an aide who worked for my mother for 1 day called her manager and laid false claims against me. Home Instead did not file a police complaint until the 9th of June. So if any of it were true they allowed a violent man the opportunity to return. The aide was unable to preform duties, only hired because she was a friend of the manager. The manager specifically told me this. The aide is highly toxic, untrained, lazy and a pathological liar. This caused my family to have my mother hospitalized and she is now dieing and I have been unable to see mom for 35days. This woman needs to be stopped from working in this field. She needs to retract her lies. All the aides and management at this Monroe, NJ location have absolutely no interest in the wellbeing of your family member. Money and Banked hours is their business.
Home care
They made a blind woman sign a contract who had dementia. When she started running out of money and wanted to hire privately? They told her if she hired any of the women who had been working for her? She owed Home Instead a 5K 'referral fee".This lady is alone, no one to help her, blind and mild dementia.they are going to squeeze every penny out of her till she has to lose her house..Oh? How convenient! The owner of the local H.I .is a MORTGAGE BROKER! Disgusting. Liars. Fired my sister for "Insubordination" when she asked who had been reporting that she hadnt been doing her job, and that she wasnt "clocking out" till she got home.My sister is the most devoted person you can find.None of the charges were real, and some were so absurd that it was hard to figure out what they were saying!.Even after getting fired? She STILL visits thIs old lady and is her friend...The supervisor lied so many times that even SHE was confused! Stay away from these folks, really. They are parasites.Money hungry immoral parasites.Ugly too..
Desired outcome: For people to be aware that not everyone is what they say they are

Unethical behavior, wrongful termination, harassment, hipaa violations
For the past couple of months, I have been working 17-18-hour days because my Human Resource Managers and Franchise Owner kept piling more and more work projects on me. The very next day when I walk in, they expect the documents or projects completed. The franchise owner kept sending emails after emails to be on conference calls at the same time, interviews, digital marketing, redoing thousands of documents. During the EMPOWER ramp, which I was solely responsible for, I had to have some classes on my cell because they refused to fix the computer, my cell only worked in my car. Other conference calls were logged on in my office. I would have to listen to the recording, take notes, then schedule a call with all of them to explain it. I was being pulled in twenty different directions. I finally expressed that I couldn't be in all these places at once and that I needed help. I was already losing more and more sleep and my health went downhill fast.
Not once did anyone complain about my work, everyone loved it, until I spoke up. What I got then, was a round table discussion with the owner and so-called managers about my job responsibilities. I expressed that I was doing them but it's impossible with the workload to do everything they want and be in 10 different places. When I asked the other manager if she could help me by scheduling meetings outside all the calls, they had me on, I was told they cannot see my calendar. I expressed that you cannot see the details of what is scheduled but you can see my calendar because I see all of theirs. Both managers said we do not use Outlook, we use ClearCare. Even the franchise owner said yeah, corporate uses outlook. Well, this is the first I heard about this. Because when you send invites or vice versa it's from Outlook to Outlook. I also asked the other recruiter and she never heard about that, and she uses Outlook. We both went to ClearCare (caregiver portal) and no office - Key Player has calendar information there.
The one time she asked if I was available at a certain time for a meeting, I said no because I had an EMPOWER class. I could do 10:00 am or 3:00 pm. It was not an important meeting either. It was me, her, and the other manager. She wanted to make sure we were all singing the same song in case the Franchise Owner asked any questions. She scheduled it for 11:00 am when I asked why, she said, "Well it works for me". Then the Owner would have me vet vendors, do research, schedule calls with everyone to discuss what I learned, and then have me give all my work to someone else to then run with it.
I spoke up once late at night when again I was working when they had me go thru the employee files for the standards review. The files were horrible, health information, background checks, sex registry information in the wrong files, write ups, falsified dates on drug tests, paperwork not signed, and/or paperwork missing. When I voiced serious concerns, I was told in front of witnesses that I was worrying about the wrong thing and that corporate does not look at all that. Half of the employee files and/or client files were at another manager's home. I expressed that by law we could not do that especially if Medicaid made a surprise visit. I was informed to not worry about that, she will bring them in and that since all their services are non-medical, they do not have to worry about Medicaid. Some new hires had to redo certain forms because that same manager took them home and then could not find them.
When I did the logo and branding change on the documents per the HUB, everyone agreed. Then that same manager said she didn't like it and was going back to the old way. The old way had people signing forms that could potentially cause lawsuits. The franchise was not represented on some, only corporate. And where employees were signing there was not a member of the office signing. Background checks ran without social security cards, just whatever number was put on the paper and some even after they were hired. People promised bonuses just to bring them in, then they made up rules or parameters where they would not have to pay them out. Then current employees found out and was furious. The manager then wanted me to go remove the bonus posts off everything even older ones and to delete them.
After that, the workload increased 8 projects at once all due at the same times even with handling my current duties. My health started getting worse to where I could barely walk from the edema. If I took off for being sick, they told other employees that I was a liar and shared personal medical information with them. One I had notes and pictures of my swelling but being in the medical field they should have known they could not by law discuss my medical information with anyone. If something was moved, taken, or rearranged in the office they said I did it. I am of African American descent, and they spoke about the shape of my body and the clothes I wore to other employees (never to me, always just said I looked nice in the color). The fact that I smoked cigarettes - one employee said that we do not tolerate smokers so I will make sure she won't be here long.
During my interview/orientation they asked about a background check, I disclosed a charge I had 17 years ago to the hiring manager, although, I did not have to. Most companies have a standard of 7-10 years in which they are required to look for and if it is more than that, they usually disclose the timeframe. Government positions only go back ten years, I know because I was taking classes to become a certified tax preparer and that was what the application stated from the federal licensing office. Even the manager stated once I told her that since it was so old, no trouble since, not a barrier crime it would not be an issue. Obviously, I passed but that same employee looked for my record from the time I turned 18 years old, that is a violation of my rights and an abuse of her power, also not the standard. That employee called other employees in her office to discuss my background information and stated I cannot believe they are hiring her; she will not be here long.
That same employee tried to say I was sleeping to get me fired. She came out of an interview to find the management team and had the franchise owner open my door to ask me if I was ok, obviously I was not sleeping, or he would have said something. He asked if I was ok, I said yes, and he left. Since I always looked through documents and worked on the computer 17-18 hours, I played a lot of white noise to keep me focused; water, waves, birds, everything. She made a huge stink to others at the office saying I can't believe he did not fire her. My door was always shut because one, she used to yell across the entire office and two, COVID was everywhere. I believe without mentioning names the fact that I stayed in my office, door shut, and just worked was the only reason I did not catch it when everyone on the lower level did. I was always helpful to her, fixed her computer, and never had any trouble.
Then the managers would give me work, take it back, and say I wasn't doing anything. They called me a liar about how much I worked. The corporate office and IT team can see how long my IP addresses and analytics was logged in everyday, night and weekends. I believe the one analytics report I had, showed only 4 days out of the entire month I took downtime. 4 days.
August 4, 2021; all my projects were completed, yesterday, August 3, 2021; I handed most out, then this morning I was upstairs helping client care and then I was called into the one managers office and both managers saying that if I didn't give up passwords to all sites plus social media and then shut down other sites (that they told me to do) and prove it, the owner was going to come in there for me. I asked what did that mean. That same manger said he was screaming at her about me. I advised that she did not have to take that, he could have talked to me. She stated it is ok, he was not mad at me and then smirked.
The same manager spoke up and said, "Well, I rather not have him here, so if you just give them to us, we can tell him you did and there will not be an issue". I expressed I was not hiding passwords; they are all saved on a USB that I forgot at home the other day. (I also wrote that to everyone in an email that same day). But I knew what they were trying to do; however, threatening and trying to intimidate someone is not how you do it. And they were saved that way because the computer did some type of refresh to the out of box state (which is documented) and I almost lost everything. And technically IT does not need my passwords to certain sites because they can shut down my access from the back end. They even had their contact at Indeed shut down my personal account instead of blocking access to the company account. However, I will be having a meeting with Indeed about that issue.
Once I gave them everything, not even an hour later they fired me, no previous write ups, conversations, nothing. Yes, I was late a few times because of my swelling but they supposedly understood. I was also told throughout my tenure to come in late if I had too much OT. The one manager said my position was obsolete (I believe she meant eliminated) and I could work as a caregiver. They also know, I have no experience as a CAREGiver. They know that I have health problems where I could barely walk. It was all lies. And then told me I know you have personal stuff here, so I will get you a box; but Christine I am warning you do not take ANYTHING that says Home Instead.
Today, August 11, 2021; I found my exact job duties and title on a job post for Indeed after creating a new password, resume gone. They even included the digital marketing that I did for the company (I have the job descriptions, and my job description that was never included before). So, my question is… If my job was obsolete (eliminated), why the very next day did you place an ad online for it? The company owes me over $4000 for OT that I turned in and a couple of times sent emails stating did you get that. You can see that I always worked OT and was paid for it until recently when I upset some people by voicing potential legal issues. I was also made to use my own personal bank account for digital marketing sites such as Angie Gensler and Canva. I was paid $15.00 one-time for the Angie Gensler account. I have the receipts from both accounts to prove it. I was told that if I went undercover and applied to competitor jobs to see how much they paid CGs that I would be reimbursed $50.00 for each one, that was also a lie. Because I did twice, and they did not pay me. They then used the employee that did not like that I smoked. That same employee lives behind the building and has countless of employee and client files just sitting in her basement. The Franchise Owner and Managers even has a key to her house because of it. I know this because she did not come to work or call one day, and they went into her house to make sure she was ok.
I had a gut feeling they were going to fire me and even said it. The gentleman that is supposed to be studying to become a Pastor and a Lawyer removed me from a calendar invite that I organized and when I said something he said, Christine I am so sorry. I do know that positions change a lot here, but I did not mean to hurt your feelings. I told him I just wish that it was not my birthday week and that someone would just tell me. He asked if I had spoken to the main manager. I told him no. He said, "I wish you all the best." This was the day before.
I was lied on numerous times, threatened twice, made to work like an animal, not compensated for all the OT, or compensated for the digital marketing sites I had to pay out of pocket for, not compensated for the undercover competitor work, and then terminated a couple of days before my birthday after I had already asked for time off. And now I see that my supposed obsolete (eliminated) job which is why I was fired, was posted on Indeed the day after they fire me with the job experience and duties I brought to the company because they were not job duties that they usually looked for or ones included in previous postings. I also have copies of all that information.
This company does not stand by its people or the core values of the organization. This group of people made a mockery of everything you stand for as an organization. They stole money from me by not paying me the OT I worked, according to the Labor board. This group of people broke laws enforced by EEOC to protect people from employment discrimination and wrongful termination. However, Franchise #247, broke the following laws against me regarding Unfair treatment because of race, color, and sex, Disclosure of my medical information to other employees, Denial of a reasonable workplace accommodations because of my disability (walking) upstairs and long ways to the building, Harassment by managers and co-workers due to my background from 17 years ago, Sexual Harassment by the managers due to my body and clothing on my body and my race and ethnicity, and then when I brought up certain legal matters or issues directly related to my job they Retaliated, Threatened me, and Wrongfully Terminated me by saying my position was eliminated when it never was.
I would like to notify corporate of all wrongdoings since the violators in this case is the Franchise Owner and Managers before taking any additional action.

dishonest employees
My sister in Baton Rouge, LA signed a contract with At Home Instead to care for her husband. After a few weeks she discovered money missing from her purse. Then she discovered more money missing from a file cabinet. That employee resigned the next day. Their employees are supposed to be thoroughly investigated and bonded. My sister called the next day to report her losses and that is when she found out that employee had suddenly resigned. Then another employee was sent. Then she missed 7 expensive towels and a purse missing. She again reported this to the director of the business and she was told that that employee had suddenly resigned. She also has missing jewelry. Then a check was stolen and forged for $1, 250.
It was made out to someone and cashed. She is now trying to recover her money through the bank. This Agency should not be allowed to continue in business. They hire dishonest people who take advantage of people.
disappointing
They've been with us for six months. We chose them because they had a great reputation and we were promised to always get help each time we needed it. My mother can't walk so she needs a caregiver. But this morning a lady from their office called me and said there were no caregivers. That was sad to hear. I'm sure they have a lot of caregivers in our area. I have to do something with my issue.

Unethical behavior
I am now an rn with a bsn. 22 years old.
Took this job during nursing school for supplemental income.
It was the worst mistake!
I fully regret working for the dallas redoak office.
The company does not provide enough quality training to perform your job adequately. This will leave you in many situations where you are helpless to the client you are caring for and will leave you in an unsafe situation.
They honestly don't care about the quality of care they provide to clients. Whilst the management are friendly enough to your face, they do not make an effort to actually deal with any grievances.
They also do not respect the hours you are available to work.
I had them call many times and ask me to pick up extra shifts last minute. Although they say it is not mandatory, they will make you feel like crap for not saying yes each time.
They do not pay for your gas.
I often drove over 45 minutes to see clients after I told them I was only willing to go 25 miles away, they do not reimburse you for driving to and from the clients. Sometimes, I was only there for a few hours, making under $40 for a workday after driving over 2 hours. Not worht it. !
They only pay $8.75 and refuse to pay more.
Not only do they pay a ridiculous minimum wage, but they charge the families over $35 an hour for your services, leaving the family feeling like they need to get the most out of their money or wanting you to do more than you were assigned to do.
Run the other way!
Do not apply here if you have any self respect.
This job will drain the life out of you, especially if you are a young person.
The management are hell!

All this company is about is taking money, from the elderly
Its ashame companies like this exit. I had an aid that seemed okay with me. But all of a sudden the irresponsible company left me hanging with no help. They said the girl quit. Don't know why. I didn't know what I was going to do with my dad. And to beat all they sent me a Bill for 700.00. I always paid when I received the Bill. But this company needs to give it up. I can't believe they treat elderly people like this. Money is all they care about!
racist
I urge black Americans to don't apply for employment here. I applied here and I had no bad reference and everything they required was legitimate and truthful. But I was turned down the job because of my race. I stand by that because I went on my interview with Kristy Kelly and they were having a class that contain all white employees NO Blacks! The pay rate is horrible $7.50 hr... she called every reference and got no complaints... These are references I had for 5 years and not one of them had no negative factors to say. But I was still denied a job. Which I'm grateful that I didn't get hired because they are racist. Mrs. Kelly barely wanted to shake my hand.i came 15min early and dressed professional. Its horrible Mississippi still have racial profiling going on. I'm praying my state...
Lisa Of Home Instead of Oakmont is very much a RACIST tom holleran
Treats Caregivers Horribly
Home Instead Senior Care in Hemet treats employees badly. ANYONE can work there. It's all about the client though cause they're payin the big bucks. As a caregiver there, I have witnessed first hand someone being treated like the ### on the bottom of the owners shoe. Oh, not to your face no. You're lied to. This is a Christian based business. Seriously? I...

I am a previous employee, and had several problems with this franchise! They claim to be an non- medical care agency, that is far from the truth! I went to numerous clients homes that I was told that they could walk fine or just needed stand by assistance! And to get to the client for your shift and find they need full hands on assistance! This is not safe for the client, let alone the cargivers! We are told over and over never to lift more than 25lbs no matter what, well when you are having to do transfers that the client can barely help you with, that is lifting more than 25 lbs right there! And they also have at least one client that has a spouse in the home, and we were required to care for the spouse as well, or as needed! What is funny about this particular client is that we filled out insurance paperwork for both each day, but the caregivers are only paid for the care of one client wich is a measly 9.00 an hour! So, it seems they are ripping the caregivers off anyway they can! Also, the scheduler is very rude and unprofessional, if you ever say no, be prepared to get no hours! Plus, everyone needs time to relax away from clients no matter how sweet they may be, this prevents burn out! And alot of the time I felt harassed by the scheduler for calling me numerous times a day even when I was with a client, and they tell you over and over not to use your cell phone when you are on duty with a client! Then when you do not answer your cell, she calls the clients home! Very unprofessional! I would not recommend this place to job seekers, nor to potential clients for both it is a rip off!
These ### holes called all of my references, offered me a job. They made me sign a release for a drug test and back round check - they never did the drug test and then they then sent me an email with no signature saying they were going to pursue other candidates instead.
You've paraphrased me. The majority of HISC cases are way above non medical and belong to CNA or HHA, especially those for Alzheimers care. Pushing is the same as lifting (one would think) and supposedly HISC has a limit of 25 lbs., but sends non certified mere homemakers out on advanced case clients even over 215 pounds. "More training" cannot make someone more able to grapple with this and is blatantly dangerous. Not only that but the office ignored me on many occasions. Got tired of it, and that sits uneasy- your employers avoidance. Bot 'tho, when I sent my quit notice I just the fastest reply, as if I said I was ending them a million dollar cheque.
Rotten Company
I worked for Home Instead Senior Care for about 2 months before I quit. I worked at the one in Pensacola, FL on Spring Street. This company (J.C. Nichols) is ridiculous to work for. They hired me without an interview! They simply called me over the phone and told me when to come to "orientation". Orientation was watching a 20 minute video and reading 2 small handbooks. They scheduled me in places far away from my home even though they told me they would give me clients close to my home. They got upset when I told them I refused to go back to this one particular home that was crawling with roaches. They only paid my $8.50 (out of the $20 per hour they charge) an hour and I only got that much because I'm an LPN. Finally, when I called in for one of my shifts, they tried to scare me into coming by threatening to report me for elder abuse (which they cannot do)! I know the job market sucks right now, but honestly its not worth it working for Home Instead or hiring Home Instead. Luckily enough for the clients I did care for, I knew what I was doing because I'm trained as a nurse.

Questionable practices of Nurses
Home Instead Senior Care needs to work on the employment process. The indviduals they employ practicing in many types of illicit activity. Erin Wright of Montgomery Al, is one of the individuals; that will and does use illegal drugs and is currently around those doing the same. It would be very careless of Home Stead senior care to intrust such an indvidual to care for anyone medical needs; much less are aging.

The worse company i have ever worked for in my life. I would never recommend Home Instead Senior Care/st.Louis to anyone. They work you to death and they pay you a little of nothing while they make the big bucks. Do they care about the worker or clients? No and no . I started working at Home Instead because i love working with elderly people and i enjoy making a different in somebody life. I started at $8.00 hour and two years later I'm still at $8.00.(RIP OFFS) They never call you in the office and say we appreciate the work you do.When you take off or go on vacation they have the nerves to say think of your client when taking off. I thought that is the reason why you have other caregivers to fill in. Do they check on the client to see is everything going ok? NO they don't but if the client decide not to pay they want to run them down.

While we regret that this caregiver had a negative experience with us, we do have many satisfied caregivers that have been with us for over 10 years. We also believe that we have reasonable & fair policies in place for both the seniors we serve and the caregivers that serve them.
unprofessional
I worked at home instead senior care for over a year and I must say I was one of the very few good skilled care givers that they had.I would not recommend home instead senior care for your love ones or the ones you hold dear to your heart simply because they dont care what type of people they hire but they are all about making money and themselves. They dont even care about there employees especially the ones like me who were genuinly compassionate about my patients, taking good care of them and making sure I always did a good job.Its so sad how they short change there employers who work overnight by paying them 65 dollars for 12 hours a night..They are by far my worst employer ever i promise. What really hurt me soooo bad is recently I needed them to fill out a verification form stating that i am longer employed with them so that i could get health benefits at no cost for my children. They told me to leave the form and they would sign it on verification day which is thursday so i left it and they were suspose to fill it out and fax it to human services and they never did.I called them and ask them why they didnt sign the form and fax it.They put someone who said she was the operater of the company on the phone and she was real cold to me.She said we choose not to sign yours, she said the company didnt have to if they did not want to.How unprofessional is that.I was a good caregiver for them and they did me like that all because I left there company to find better opportunities. How unprofessional but what goes around comes around and I want to give all of you the benefit of knowing that they are no good for your love ones And i mean that from my heart because I care about others.I hope they go down because they dont deserve to be in business
I was an employee with this company in California I had a bad fall resulting in my shoulder being broken. I called the office they took me to urgent care they discovered my shoulder was broken but instead of sending me to the hospital to get it fixed they sent me home with pain pills and a sling. My boss was there and could have authorized it, but instead she took me home. 12 days later a family member came to check me I was in bad shape in pain, hadn't eaten or showered. they took me to the emergency room. I was admitted that night and had surgery the next day. Not only was my shoulder shattered but the bone in my upper arm had to be replaced. The surgeon said he spend 30 minutes picking out bone fragments from my arm. I spent 4 days in the hospital and no one from the company called came by or sent a card. I was then sent for rehab at facility, my surgeon recommended another surgery workman comp dragged their feet., after 3 months in rehab I was sent to a board and care. Now I have an attorney. I also have nerve damage so I can only move my arm from the elbow down on the right side. These people could care less about their employees. As of April 8 it was 2 years I still have and I am at the board and care since can no longer care for myself as I should. As clients or employees stay away from them. Far away.
i so agree with you, Home Instead Senior Care did me the same way I had a client whom was starting to be dead weight and I called them several times making them aware of the situation and telling them that my back was starting to hurt. Well, a month later after getting off my shift, i came home with a very very painful back ache, went to the emergency the next day and discovered I had a bulging disc. I called the office reported that the doctor said no heavy lifting for two weeks, they told me not to come for two weeks and that if I had the slightest restriction when i got back I would be fired. I couldn't get Workman's Comp because I didn't follow "their protocol" and no unemployment! I just started work and they are acting all funny with me, i guess because my client told them she didn't want any other caregiver coming out besides me, but anyway they haven't given me hours so I been out of pay for 4 weeks so i finally decide to apply for food stamps and same thing as you they gave me the run around for a whole week! I went up there personally and waited until it got faxed. everyone ignored that i was sitting there. Later, Did you know they told me they don't need me in here waiting with my kids so i need to get out! them a##holes kicked me and my two babies out not giving a darn that we had no food! for 2 years I have been so loyal i didn't even accept any private offers from clients who totally hate Home Instead but only use them because they are bonded and stuff i literally saved them up to 10 clients by telling them to stay, but now if i see them I will save them from a huge mistake as well as anyone looking to be employed by them.
liars misguided
Home instead senior care in corpus christi BEWARE! BE VERY SCARED! does not listen to the clients. Would rather ask there caregivers if the client is telling the truth or not. They fill out paper work blank and has the caregiver sign. They have in there contracts if a caregiver does not show up they will come themselves immediately. LIE! Caregivers give 2 wks notice to company and don't tell the client until the last minute. HORRIBLE BUSINESS SKILLS! VERY DANGEROUS! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

I worked for them for 4 months and did a excellent job. I even had clients families call the office to tell them what a great job I was doing. Then one day they assigned me on a case where the man couldnt walk. They didnt have the proper equipment for me to transfer him out of bed. His wife said he was having a bad day. She had just told me that she got rid of another agency because the caregiver dropped her husband. Then I told her I couldnt walk him to the bathroom without a wheelchair and I had to call the office. She said she didnt blame me but she had already told my agency to send a man which they didn't they sent me. When I called the agency they sent somebody else to take my place. One week later when I went to the office they terminated me because they said it looked bad on the company. Well dont you think it would have been worse if I dropped the man. I know in my heart I did the right thing. All I know is this company did me wrong. Now they told me they sent a man only 2 days a week and the other 3 days a girl. And so far everything is fine. They said he was having a bad day when I was there.
On the liar note I had a employee from home instead call in a false complaint on a delivery that I did there which puts my job in jeopardy starting with a five day suspension, she accused me of throwing boxes of paper which are 50 lbs each difficult enough to pick up never mind throw? when she sits at a desk that she can't even see out the door but says she witnessed it?
This is simply not factual, I've known the Home Instead Senior Care management for many years. They are reliable, trustworthy and always there for their clients, caregivers and the medical and elder care community. This sounds like a disgruntled person that has a axe to grind over an unrelated business matter. The quality of care of this company is excellent, I have referred to them, used them for personal family and would not hesitate to do so again.
Not paying office staff
I worked for Home Instead Senior Care for 2 years. I worked in the office as a scheduling coordinator. When you are hired they put you on salary. They dont tell you that you will be working 55+ hours a week, you will NEVER leave a minute before 6pm. You will stay till all shifts are filled (even if it is not your clients). Some nights we would work till 8-9pm. We were not payed any time over40 hours. Our position as scheduling coordinator was not a supervisor position, so there should of ben time half paid for all those hours. I and several other woman have filed with the labor board and we know HISC will have to pay for all the hours not payed. Not to mentions, they hire unexperienced caregivers and will look the other way if caregivers have a criminal past. I would NEVER use HISC to watch my worst enemy!
I strongly agree with you and i couldnt agree with u more
Staff
Did you ever hear the ole saying, "You get what you pay for"
Well that just is not the case with this Home Health Care Provider.
They charge you or your Insurance Agency way to much money
and they dont pay thier Home Health Aid's but just a few penny's
more than Minnum Wage.
I droped this Company like a HOT Potato when I found this out
and pposted on CL for a private HHA / CNA and found a wonderful
person to assist me in my home at a fraction of what Home Instead Health Care
was charging My Insurance Company and I am geting beter care and a very clean house.
Did you know Home Instead dont even offer thier Aids Medical Bennifits?
I URGE you to stop using this Company and hire your own HHA/CNA I did..
