HomeStarSearch.com The website continues to charge me for the subscription

My family searched for the new home through the website www.homestarsearch.com. We paid for the 10 days trial and searched for new flats and houses, but the website didn’t have a big choice. We cancelled the trial and thought that all charges would stop, but it was scam. They continued to take money from after I cancelled the subscription. All emails to the customer services were useless.

HomeStarSearch.com They took money for the membership, but I haven't agreed to it

I have used the website www.homestarsearch.com only once, but I haven’t agreed to their membership. I was really upset, when I have noticed that they started to take money from me. They took money from me every month. The price was about $13 and they took large sum from me already. Total fraud. I emailed them and asked to stop these charges, but they didn’t react. Please, advise me how to stop them!

HomeStarSearch.com Fraudly charge my bank account

Looked at there website did a 1.95 to see if what we were looking for in homes showed up. Website worthless. Cancelled it same day... they charged my bank over 55.00 for something we cancelled 10 days later . Because we could not give them a cancellation number refused reinbursement. Money making thing for this company. Don't be fooled. Theft is what I call it.

HomeStarSearch.com problems canceling trial

I signed up with a 10 day trial with Home Star Search. When logging onto the website, I notice there was a lot of false information. The homeowner contact numbers were all wrong or disconnected. When I do get someone on the phone they tell me I have the wrong number, or that they property is not for sale or rent, and have no idea what I am talking about. The website was useless and a waste of money. When I cancel my trial membership before the time limit, I later found out that they charge me anyway. I called customer service to ask questions and to try to get my money back, they lied and said they had no record of me canceling my trial, and I was told I could not get my money back. Customer service and support manager was very rude and disrespectful and hung up many times in my face. I think Home Star Search is a big scam, they mislead people with false information to get there credit card number then take there money and provide no service at all. They are listed under CreigList. PLEASE DO NOT ENROLL WITH THIS SCAM, PLS BE CAREFUL, because if you do you will regret it, I sure did.

They are a huge scam! I have called them several times trying to get my membership cancelled. They assure me it is cancelled then charge my card...AGAIN! they charged $59.94 to my cc 2x in October, then again in November & December. I am having to cancel my bank account because they can't get their sh*#%^&*# together and do their job. DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL THIS SCAM GROUP! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

I found a listing on Craigslist in the Phoenix area for a house for RENT. Homestarsearch . com is a scam for sure! They said that they would charge me $19.95 for the first 7 days "ONLY IF I FOUND A RENTAL" and the rental home that I was inquiring about was available and that Homestarsearch does ALL the paperwork and that is WHY they charge the 19.95. Then I logged onto the web site to obtain the address of the rental, and I could not even find it. There were NO RENTALS AVAILABLE! This is a scam, and they totally misrepresent what they do! They try and sell foreclosed houses by providing you with a MLS listing of the foreclosed home that you can get from a realtor for free. Then, they want you to pay $59.95 per month for continuing to view available houses FOR SALE, NOT FOR RENT. I WAS SCAMMED OFF OF Craigslist. I am filing a complaint with Craigslist as well.

HomeStarSearch.com Fraudulent Listings on Craigslist

There are so many fraudulent ads, which are only lures for people to pay for a listing service on-line. The scam listings placed by Home Star Search actually outnumber the for-real listings, and this is causing confusion and frustration to those earnestly seeking housing in the L.A. area. SHAME ON CRAIGSLIST FOR ALLOWING THIS!

HomeStarSearch.com Taking money from bank acct

This company is listed on Craigslist they only have phone numbers to call for information on property offer you 3 days use for $5.95 and tell you must cancel at the end of the 3 days. I joined on Jan. 28, 2010 and was told that I must cancel by 1/31/2010. On 1/31/2010 there was no one available to cancel as that is Sunday. On the 1st of Feb they had already taken the $39.99 out of my bank account when I called on the as that is when they were finally in and spoke to the customer service dept I told them what had happened and the guy told me I should have cancelled before the 1/30/2010. I said that made no sense since I had 3 days services with them. He never mentioned that they had already taken money out of my bank account on 2/1/2010 for $39.99. This company is a complete ripoff to people who are trying to find a home. All they are doing is taking listings from Craigslist and using them as their own. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! /They do not have any address or phone numbers listed just that they are in California.

Do not believe anything this company promises. I signed up and within one day I realized the company was complete c*** so I cancelled my membership. I received no confirmation page, instead I got an ad, so I left it at that. I would have printed the confirmation page, as I always do, had I received one. 10 days letter a charge for 58.94 hit my Master Card. I called the customer service number on my statement [protected], and shocker! They could not find record of my cancellation. At first they tried to offer me a $25 gift card and a free year membership. When I refused, they offered me a credit for half of the charge, $29.99, and I refused that as well, but they processed the $29.99 credit anyway.

DO NOT USE HOMESTARSEARCH.COM

Called this company last week but decided not to trust them right away until i did further research. i am grateful for these post. As someone else mentioned I was also told that they are listed with the Better Business Bureau, which after research I found out is true, they just fail to tell people that their Rating is an "F" which means that their business etiquettes are highly questionable and fraudulant. Sorry for all those that were taken by this company.

You may find yourself looking for houses that are not listed for sale or for rent. I'm on the opposite side of this! I am a home owner who had 3 people show up at my house asking if it was for sale, or rent to own. They gave me the name of the web site so I went on and immediately called to have my address removed from the web site. Whether it was entered wrong or there was some mistake somewhere, I didn't appreciate people coming to my house unannounced. I'm not blaming the people that came by, but my address should never have been listed as available. Please do some research before paying money to a web site to find a house.

I found this as I was on the phone with these people signing up. I immediately told the rep "Nevermind, I'll pass, " and hung up. Thank you all for your posts! This could have been quite expensive.

OMG. Sure glad I checked here before calling BACK. Wondered why the guy hung up on me before I could finish my sentence that I was unemployed and ... CLICK. The listing for a 3BDRM in Culver City @ $1225 was WAY too good to be true. I'm not calling back. THANKS to all who shared their stories...
