Hometeam properties has created multiple issues for myself and other residents since moving in. To start the list of problems, Hometeam failed to provide us with any documentation in order to switch the water bill over to our name, nor made it clear to us that it was even our responsibility.
We received a bill in March, during COVID mind you, when I was laid off and did not have a stable income, to pay a lump sum water bill of over $200. Fine. We complied.
Then, recently, we have been billed over $500 during this time, when most of us had not even living in the house. but have been to and from home,
This is due to faulty faucets and toilets that leak constantly, not being fixed despite requests and verbal requests to maintenance team members.
Once again, amidst a global pandemic,
Hometeam is asking college students who do not have stable incomes to pay a large sum of money upfront; a sum that is largely inflated due to their negligence and failure to upkeep their facilities.

My roommates and I lived with Hometeam Properties for two years and our lease ended July 31. Hometeam Properties is refusing to return our security deposit to us. First, they sent us an inflated charge list with ridiculous charges for normal wear adn tear. We had the apartment sparkling clean when we left and we knew these charges were not correct so we emailed Hometeam Properties to dispute the charges. In our email, in addition to disputing the inflating charges, we told them that after talking with the current tenants that moved in after us, the current tenants let us know that none of the work detailed in the charge list was completed. Kat, Hometeam's account, replied and said that the charges were a mistake and they should have actually only charged us $30 worth of damage, rather than the $2000+ that they initially tried to deduct. She then sent us a settlement agreement and refused to return our security deposit to us unless we signed the settlement agreement. Kat confirmed many times over email that if we signed the settlement agreement, they would return the full security deposit to us and mail a check to one of our roommates, ***. *** was then to distribute the check evenly between all six roommates. However, in the settlement agreement, it said that the check would be made out to all 6 roommates which we did not want. Kat refused to update the settlement agreement to say that it will only be made out to ***, despite her emails confirming that it would be. Thus, we crossed out the other five roommates names, except for ***, in the section that describes who the check will be made payable to. Hometeam is now refusing to counter sign the settlement agreement and return our security deposit. After discovering the fraud in the charge list and contacting Hometeam, we wanted to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to recover our security deposit, even though we were not legally obligated to sign the settlement agreement in order to have our security deposit returned from Hometeam. Hometeam is now refusing to countersign the settlement agreement and will not return our security deposit. Per our lease and Ohio Tenant Law, Hometeam is legally obligated to return our security deposit to us within 30 days. It has now been 42 days and Hometeam still will not send us our security deposit.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
