They are so quick to draw you in and say you get 100 percent of what your attendees gift you for your wedding. It’s all annoying trickery. They bloat what people give by asking for donations. They make it impossible to find the button to opt out of a donation. When you’re ready to redeem your gift, unless you want $4,000 of a chilis gift card, it takes over a month to get your money via PayPal or Venmo. None of that is clear up front. DO NOT USE. Would not recommend.

We had a great experience with Honeyfund for our wedding. We received a lot of generous gifts towards our trip and found the site easy for both our guests to contribute and ourselves to collect. It was an easier alternative for people, too, instead of having to keep track of gift cards of handwritten checks and we'll definitely recommend Honeyfund to our friends getting married in the future.

The process of getting married can be quite stressful, so having a supportive registry team makes the process much smoother.

In theory, it's awesome. The fact that I can register for my honeymoon is brilliant. The execution though it garbage.
My family member paid $1500 for multiple gifts and when I went to book, the gift wasn't applied and the site asked me for full payment.
It is also extremely limited for what it offers. A lot of Caribbean deals, Hawaii, and USA. Nothing in Asia at all. When I signed up it said I could deposit the gifts into my paypal account but there is no option when I go to the gift. The only option is to book through the site, which again, it doesn't let you use the gift.
So many glitches in this site and the worst part is that you can't get a hold of anyone. There's a contact form on the site, which I filled out days ago and haven't heard back. I tried calling their customer service phone number (which was way too hard to even find), and there's a recorded message that tells you to call back during business hours... when I called at 12pm EST and they open at 8am PT. It's ridiculous.
I tried calling again 3 times and now it's saying "our customer service reps are helping other callers, but we don't believe in letting you wait on hold. Leave a message!"
A horrible business. All I want at this point is for my family to get a refund so I can use another site. I'll update this if I ever hear back from them.

I have tried contacting Honeyfund via phone & online messages but haven't received a call nor response yet. When I follow the prompts on the Honeyfund page to redeem, I enter the total amount and select the redeem option at the bottom of the page and receive the following message: " Oops! We're sorry but redeeming is currently locked for your security. Please Contact Us for assistance." This is such an inconvenience. We are excited to use our gifts and book a dream trip - now we will have to use other funds. I understand and appreciate safety measures, but there should be a better system in place for giving people THEIR money.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and to free up my funds.

We had our account open for a while, started receiving fund the weekend of our wedding and got on the see why it was not being deposited and someone had gone in and changed banking info, name and phone number. Over 641 dollars. We want the money our guest sent to us. Emails and many voicemails with no response
My wife and I used honeyfund for our wedding gifts and RSVPs this year (Feb 12th '22) and they have been ignoring our various attempts at contacting them. About $700 worth of gift card funds was gifted to us with NO indication whatsoever which gifted funds came from which guest - it all got pooled together and now we have no idea who to send the thank you's to. No bride in her right mind would use this service if all gifted funds were involuntarily anonymous!

My wife and I opened a honey fund before our wedding for family to donate to our first home. At first I couldn't put my back account info in for the transfers. Was able to finally do that and now I cannot get the funds to transfer to my account. I have tried to call the customer service number, that is extremely difficult to find, I have emailed the help desk multiple times over the last several months that I have been trying to resolve this. The website doesn't list a phone number but does offer 24/7 customer assistance via phone, email or chat, and the only option is an email request that no one responds. I would simply like to get the funds from my account and close it.

I have money remaining in my Honeyfund account that I am not able to redeem. I'm going on a trip in 3 weeks and am depending on these funds for my hotels. I've tried multiple days in a row to redeem to hotels.com using different browsers but have been unsuccessful in obtaining my funds. Each time I try I get an error message stating that redemption is locked for my security (as shown on attached picture). I waited a day or two to try again thinking it was a timing issue. I've messaged Honeyfund directly twice now using their contact us messaging and have called and left voicemails but haven't received a response. I need help with this ASAP.

We chose Honeyfund as our only registry. No where was it stated while I was setting up my account that gifts would only be in the form of gift cards, even though my guests donated with the intention that we would be able to transfer these funds into actual cash. We have no use for these gift cards when we go on our honeymoon forcing $1700 that we cannot access. We would like to have these funds transferred into our bank account.

Hello, I signed up for a Honeyfund account in July for the wedding my husband and I had this past weekend and we are about to leave for our honeymoon however, we realized that while Honeyfund's website states the money has been deposited into my savings account that none of the money has made it into the account. The dates on the honeyfund website for money deposits have been checked as far back as August and we can confirm that we have received none of the just over $2000 we have been given by our guests. We have also received no word from honeyfund about payments made or issues with the account. We are looking to have this resolved soon as we are relying on the funds from our guests for our honeymoon.

After having to reschedule our wedding date three times as a result of COVID, we got married on July 29. I set up a Honeyfund account on behalf of my daughter. My family is large and many are elderly. They wanted to gift her money but do not have access to liquid assets with checks or other standard means. So they typically purchase gift cards. Honeyfund did not agree to the use of gift cards for gifting cash like funds. Fine. They removed the transactions from the bank account after they deposited it. Net is $0. Fine. A few days later, they ACH transferred $380 out of my bank account, which was never deposited into my account. The net is now -$380. Each time this has happened, I have tried to contact Honeyfund to see what is happening and their website gives a 403 Forbidden message. They do not have a phone number. Only an email address. They have not responded to any of my inquiries. They are a complete and total scam.

However, during the process of receiving gifts to the account it was never clear that we couldn't simply withdrawal the funds if we couldn't use the gift card option to avoid the transaction fee. Ends up we went on our honeymoon and paid out of pocket because our airline and destination did not have any applicable gift cards to use and now we can't simply transfer the funds to our bank account. Further, the Honeyfund business has not responded to my attempts to connect them over the past month so I'm left with filing a Complaintsboard.com complaint because based on the other complaints on this site, this is the only way to connect with them. I'd really just like to withdrawal the $5,000 in cash that is sitting in this site. Thank you.

My husband and I set up a Honeyfund as our registry. We linked our bank account to our Honeyfund account, and the website said the funds would transfer automatically as gifts were given. The automatic transfers never occurred, and we now have $9.2K in gifts that we cannot figure out how to access. Additionally, when we created our account in June , the fee to transfer to our bank account was around 2.3%, but it's now increased to 3.5%. I followed all instructions on their website and help pages with no resolution to this. I also used the help form to reach out for assistance and have yet to hear back. There is no phone number or email anywhere on their website for help, which is frustrating given how high the fee is to transfer money out. We would like our money transferred to our PayPal or bank account ASAP at the rate that was advertised when we signed up.

I realized today when I went to withdraw the gifts that I had received so far that they were all only redeemable via gift cards. When I set up my account, I was under the impression that I had selected the account option, and as my family and friends are gifting me amounts towards things like "swimming with dolphins" and "resort fund" I'm not sure how redeeming their money towards gift cards to various restaurants/ stores seems honest or fair to anyone involved. Back in 2019 you will see disbursements to bank. My wedding has now taken place and I have thousands that are apparently linked to receiving only gift cards and not my bank account. I don't recall changing payment method. Regardless, this website is deceiving and not clear that once gift has been received the recipient is unable to transfer to bank account. We are relying on this money for our honeymoon and feel trapped that we are only given the option to redeem in gift cards when this money should be disbursed as we choose. This is devastating and not good karma for this business. I hope this company resolves this issues and disburses our money into our linked bank account as it was originally set up when I first joined back in 2019. I am reading others who have encountered similar issues which is disheartening.

I created a Honeyfund registry to help fund our dream honeymoon. I specifically linked my savings account when creating my account so that I would be able to use the option of direct transfer of funds into my bank account. At my bridal shower this weekend, I received several gifts to our Honeyfund. Upon getting home from my bridal shower and logging into my account to transfer the funds, I was horrified to find out that almost $675 in monetary gifts from my closest family and friends is only redeemable for gift cards! I never envisioned my perfect shower day ending with me feeling distraught and sick to our stomachs over Honeyfund. In addition, I never received a single notification that a we had received any gifts. Had I received such notifications, I could have at least stopped this at the first gift received and not been forced into almost $700 worth of unwanted gift cards that are in no way redeemable for my actual honeymoon! This is bad business and extremely deceptive.

I set up a Honeyfund account for my friends and family to donate gifts to my honeymoon. Honeyfund was partnering with WePay to send us our monetary gifts as a check in the mail. Honeyfund changed payment processors earlier this year and requested that I add my bank account information to their website as they would not longer be sending checks through WePay. I updated my bank account information on February 4 and I have an email from Honeyfund confirming this. My family and friends continued to send monetary gifts to me through Honeyfund but I have not received them since Honeyfund switched payment processors. I re-added my bank account information to their website on April 5 and a member of their team confirmed this again in email. I received another note from Honeyfund on April 17 saying my bank account is not set up. They are telling me I need to put the money my family gave me into a gift card off their website and I do not want this. I want it put into my bank account.

I registered for a honeymoon account with Honeyfund after reading online about all the options. I was aware that there was a fee of a few percentage points for each gift purchased. Nowhere during the process did Honeyfund alert me that they default to an option of a 'gift card' where the money sent to me is only usable through a select number of merchants. I literally listed registry items such as hotel stays and activities, only to later receive that money as 'gift cards' that I cannot use for the intended gifts. Not only this, but Honeyfund sent me emails whenever I received a cash gift (all my initial gifts were cash). Yet, I logged in today and suddenly found 7 recent gifts totaling $1,115; none of these gifts were sent to me via email notification. Honeyfund is clearly trying to defraud its users of funds by taking cash gifts and turning them into gift cards, and not making this clear to users. I would like this $1,115 moved to my PayPal account and am happy to pay the fee noted.

I opened an account with Plumfund in October as a registry to fund my child's Bar MItzvah Trip. A number of donations were made on October 30 and 31, 2021 in the amounts of $599, $699, $699, $399, $699, $599. These payments were automatically transferred to my Paypal account. In December, these payments were challenged through paypal, and paypal returned themcharging me a $15 sellers fee for each one, holding me financially responsible as a "seller" even though I did not have any seller's interaction or intent to sell anything to these supposed donors. After working with Paypal to try to understand the situation, they instructed me to contact the FBI fraud unit as they believe the account is being used used for significant amounts of fraud. I have not done that yet as I was hoping to resolve the issue with Plumfund, make them aware of the situation so they can prevent others from going through the same experience. My Paypal account is currently $1,296.86 in the negative, and I have no way of knowing if any of those additional payments will be challenged through Paypal. I notified Plumfund on December 30. I heard back, via email on Dec. 31, 2021, from "Pam" in Plumfund customer service who noted it looked like there was fraudulent activity on my account, asked for ID, and said she would work with Paypal to resolve the issue. I sent an image of my driver's license, per Pam's request, on January 1, 2022. Since then I have heard nothing. I have attempted to contact Plumfund on January 9 and 11, 2022, and received no response. Additionally, although my campaign is over, I continue to receive what I believe are fraudulent payments through the account, which are then going to be challenged and cost me additional money via PayPal.
