STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE PREDATORY THIEVES. THEY HAVE A SYSTEM OF DELIBERATELY DECEIVING AND RIPPING OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEIR BILLING IS DELIERATELY DECEPTIVE, THEIR CONTRACTS ARE DELIBERATELY DECE[PTIVE, THEIR INTENT IS NOT TO SERVE THE CUSTOMER BUT TO RIP THE CUSTOMER OFF THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE HORRIBLE REVIEWS HERE AND ON *** AND OTHER SITES ON THE INTERNET. HERE THEIR RATING IS 1.5 OUT OF 5, THAT SAYS IT ALL AND THAT REALLY SHOULD BE A ZERO SCORE IF PEOPLE COULD USE A ZERO THEY WOULD. I INTEND TO CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND PURSUE A CLASS ACTION SUIT WITH THEIR HELP AGAINST THIS COMPANY AS THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER RIPPED OFF PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM A CLASS ACTION SUIT. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE HORRIBLE, DECEPTIVE THIEVES.

In September I signed one year contract for delivery of 600 gallons of heating oil to my house. Price was set to 1.92$ per gallon. It was automatic delivery. They delivered several times. On April 14th it was last delivery. Then (as oil price went up) all deliveries were stopped. Totally they delivered 400 gallons.I did not keep track of how full my tank was. In October I called them and reminded them of remaining 200gallons. The answer was that contract is over.

HOP Energy This oil company's delivery method was highly questionable

This oil company's delivery method was dubious. They insisted I needed to replace my pipes with copper for delivery, which isn't worth the minor savings per gallon. The delivery manager ignored my calls, and the receptionists repeatedly hung up on me. It's a very shady business!

DDLC is a rip off. They jacked up my oil prices from [protected] @ $2.0546 to on [protected] to $3.799. My bill was $490.83. I was in the yard as the 2 guys from DDLC came to top off my tank. At no time did either of the 2 guys said that the oil went up. My oil went from $1.48 low to a high of $3.799. At no time did DDLC tell me their oil was going up to the $3.799 per gal. I called them and asked what's up with the new prices. I have checked around and you are charging the highest prices for oil. They said that was not true(!?!?) I ten said if this was what they were going to charge me this jacked up price I would fire them and find another service. They said they could drop it down to $1.87 a gal " if I signed a contract for a year. I said *** no. you are fired because of your greed. I hung up. I then found another service that there oil is currently $2.05 a gallon. A week later they called again to complain to my wife that her husband was rude to their girl on the phone, and they wanted to continue their oil service. She told them that we did not want anything to do with them. If you have them, check their price for oil every time they want to deliver oil to you to make they don't slip in a $3.799 price on you.

The driver made a mistake and still refuse to service to a 75 year lady left her in the cold without heat or hot water. This company should be shut down for bad business. And trying to ripped of customers into replacing tanks that there is nothing wrong with them at all

3 calls in last 6 months --No return call from a supervisor to go over problem, Door on AC unit left off and not replaced. Spent between an hour and 2 hours on phone with agent and was guaranteed that a supervisor would call but never a return call. replacement part costs $720 to stop door from vibrating. plus I had paid the fee for analysis. I said no when the part was available but REPLACE the door. Unit is still exposed with no door covering. Probably had 3 or 4 previous service call which I paid for to correct problems over the years on the 2 units which initially had cost about $8000

I think that this company should be ashamed of themselves, they are charging prices for fuel oil that are over a dollar more than their competitors in the middle of a Pandemic when budgets are already tight, it is like they are taking advantage of the fact that more people are home so they are using more fuel, if this is your fuel company change to a different one immediately, and if you are thinking of using them do not! I have contacted them twice already for a price adjustment but I do not get a response. In two consecutive bills I was charged 3.59 a gallon and then 3.79 a gallon, while the posted rate on the competitions' site was only 2.69 a gallon!

HOP Energy On 7/19 we received and accepted the contract attached for a boiler replacement

On 7/19 we received and accepted the contract attached for a boiler replacement. A chimney flue is mentioned which we do not have. We have a vent with a power venter. The representative said that was standard language so we signed. Come day of installation on 8/9 and everything was replaced except the power venter. I reached out to our representative and he stated it was not part of the contract. I was then sent to a customer service representative to set up replacing this old part. I explained the situation and she was able to offer me 15%off which still came to $1750 which I was not happy about but needed to have this part replaced along with the rest of the boiler. This was installed 9/29. The tech who installed the part was very nice and my problem is not with him. However I still feel this should have been part of the initial install and I should not need to pay this additional amount. There is no contract signed for the power venter install.

The billing practices of this company are criminal. They try to bilk their customers by billing confusion where it should be very straightforward. If I weren't pro active about looking closely at my account, they would have gotten away with larceny.

my contract with DDLC expired October (Acct ***)and they delivered oil to my residence (4/17 at 7:28am)with out my consent no call to notify delivery while my family was out of town for the death of a family member. They delivered 170.7 gallons at $4.39 a gallon total coming to $750.91! Called them immediately about this they claim they have the right to deliver oil with out notification to account holders that do not have active contracts. how is that legal I had no idea I had to close my account! I hadn't ordered oil from the company in MONTHS, then now all of a sudden out of the blue with out my consent they deliver oil to my home and claim they have the authority to do so with out my consent. I asked if they could come suck the oil back out since I can't afford their price gouging. they then refuse to take back their oil and then offer to adjust my bill buy $.60 per gallon as if thats a huge favor, still can't afford the $644.00 bill! They are Crooks!

HOP Energy This company purchased Brouders Oil in CT

This company purchased Brouders Oil in CT. Our family had been with Brouders for over 20+ years. We had no issue with the new company. Upon my mother's passing I took over the estate and this account. I did the company's Budget contract where I paid monthly for the average oil usage along with the protection on the furnace. That was great! I always make my payments by phone and talk to a person by or on the *** of each month. Apparently, on November the 4th there was a tech that came to the house and observed the fuel tank had seepage on the bottom and instantly put us on a no fill account until the tank was replaced. GREAT! However, this information was not given to me. The branch in New London CT claims they called me. NOT TRUE! I answer all my calls from CT, and that is where the call was from, I asked. I live in Florida, so I am diligent about any CT calls or contacts. I got no email, I got no call. So, here we are on December 10th, and the house is now out oil. When I call to find out why, because I know I paid the monthly bill, that is when I am told about the NO FILL on the account. WHAT! This is a large family home with 5 children, the youngest is less than 2 yrs old, and 5 adults, one who is disabled. The company was KIND enough to put in 5 gallons until the next day, which is Monday, today, to deliver temporary drums of oil to keep the house warm and the water hot. That works for now. Now they tell me it will be at least $3300 to have them replace the tank. Which I know is ridiculous because the family replaced the oil tank right next to this one less than 2 years ago. We would have replaced the tank in NOVEMBER when it was in the 50's within a few days, but now, during this mess, we have to replace the tank when it is below freezing. This is NOT OUR FAULT. This is the companies fault. They are again putting my family at risk having to do this in these conditions. What kind of customer service is that? When I talked to "Jason" he honestly, could have cared less. Because he called me and he never heard back. REALLY? He is correct he never heard from me, because I was never told there was an issue. It really isn't about putting in a new tank, we understand that. The issue is the lack of follow through on a significant problem. The lack of heat in a CT winter is not important enough to be sure the customer knows what is going on? Again, I understand it is two different areas, but when I made my payment, nothing was mentioned. Why was there not a flag on the payment side? Now I am paying for something I am not getting, OIL!
