We had a terrible experience with a icewind breeders. We did a ton of research and found them as an akc heart breeder who gave life time health guarantee in northern jersey about 3 hours away from our house. We spent $2, 600. She did not give us the vet clearance certificate (we assume it was in the folder). We were so thrilled getting the puppy we did not notice under his neck was bald! Paid an extra $50 for microchip. Vet said there is no chip. Vet said skin scrape on his neck and it came back with mite larve. Contacted breeder. She said vet must not have international chip reader (he does). We sent her picture of his neck. Her answer "looks like beautiful healthy pink skin." we said "you mean where fur should be?" she told us to get a new vet. Said she would send us a chip to have vet insert (she hasn't). When we finally got it, it was in a #10 envelope and shredded by usps. We complained and she finally sent it again in a usps cardboard envelope. But too late, we got him chipped on our own. As of march 12, eight weeks after picked up our puppy, we have yet to receive his akc paperwork. How can icewind be an akc heart breeder recommended when they are more like a backyard breeder?
