I Love Dooney Review: Nice Bags, Terrible Customer Service and Business Practices
I gotta say, I was pretty excited to get my hands on one of the bags from I Love Dooney. And let me tell you, when I finally got it, it was everything I hoped it would be. But unfortunately, my experience with this company went downhill pretty quickly after that.
First off, my bag got lost in transit. I mean, come on, how does that even happen? I had to spend two whole weeks going back and forth with customer service through email, and all they could tell me was to wait until the investigation was complete. But then UPS came out and said that the bag was undeliverable, so what was the point of the investigation in the first place?
So I started calling them every day, hoping to get some answers. But the CS reps on the phone were no help at all. They couldn't solve any of my problems, and there were no supervisors around to speak with. It's been a whole month now, and I still haven't gotten my refund or my bag back.
And get this - the bag is back in stock now, but they won't send it to me unless I order it online and pay the higher price. Like, seriously? They still have my money from the first order, and they won't even send me the bag I originally ordered? That's just messed up.
Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with the way this company does business. Their customer service team seems to be completely useless, and they don't seem to care about their customers at all. It's really not fair to the people who work there, either. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to work in an environment like that.
So yeah, I Love Dooney might have some nice bags, but I wouldn't recommend buying from them. There are plenty of other companies out there that actually care about their customers and treat them with respect.

They also refuse to give refunds or credits for the inconvenience caused. I ordered two bags, and one of them was torn on the inside, while the other never arrived. When I contacted them, they kept lying to me over the phone and chat, saying that the package was on its way, even though I could see on the website that it wasn't. Fedex only had a label created, and the bag never made it to me. Even after a month, they still refused to refund me, saying that the package was on its way. I had to stop payment on my credit card as I never received the merchandise. I also had to stop payment on the torn bag they sent me. Save yourself the trouble and don't give these people your money.

They told me that I couldn't get my bag until I sent the wrong one back. Can you believe that? They were holding my bag hostage! I had no intention of keeping the wrong bag, I just wanted the one I ordered and paid for.
I tried to speak to a supervisor, but they kept giving me the runaround. I even sent emails, but all I got were empty promises. It's been weeks now, and I still haven't heard from a supervisor or received my bag. I mean, come on, there's a tracking number showing that the wrong bag is on its way back to them. It's just disgusting!

On Cyber Monday I placed an order for 10 items. I later received confirmation of those Items. Then without notification I received a portion of my money back in my bank account without any email explaning what happened. When I called they told me a portion of my order had been cancelled but could not tell me exactly what I was still receiving. They told me it was because of low stock. But when I checked online, Everything I had ordered was in stock. Of course it was not at the CyberMonday Price. I had to wait until my 3 items were delivered to see what I got, This is very poor service considering they took my payment, sent confirmation and have the stock.
Desired outcome: I want my original order at the price offered on Cyber Monday.

I have been a loyal customer at Dooney & Bourke for years. I have never had to return anything….. until now. $20 to return online is ridiculous. Rip off! No longer a customer.

Dec. 18, 2018 I placed an order and I paid for 5 day shipping. I did not receive my item until Jan. 2, 2019. After an email to the company, I did receive a $5.00 shipping refund from them via paypal. I had to return the item due to needing it by Dec. 29th. Jan. 2, 2019 I put in for a return request shipping label online and the label was not pulling up to print. After being placed on hold for 20 min, I hung up and finally (after another 20 min at least) I spoke to customer service. I was told that I would not be able to print a shipping label due to problems with their system. I was told to call back in a few days. I called Jan 7th and finally received a link to print my label. The package was received back to them via UPS on Jan. 11th. I called customer service Jan. 18th and asked when I was going to receive my refund. She stated that my refund was issued yesterday. According to their website, I should have been sent a confirmation email when the refund was actually sent to the bank. She stated that she was sorry that I did not receive the email. I requested that it be sent again. Keep in mind, my email is in their system and I have been receiving other emails from them. She told me that she is unable to send me the confirmation. I was told I have to pay return shipping, which is stated in their return policy. Not only has it been a month of constant delays due to their customer service, but I also have to pay for shipping to return an item that I clearly would have NEVER purchased had I known that I would receive it so late.

Was not able to enter my promo code
I received a promo code as a new customer and it was actually a very nice discount. I picked up a bag and started entering all the necessary information. When I was done I wanted to enter my code, but could not find a place for it. I clicked the "continue" button and was immediately taken to the homepage. I contacted ILoveDooney customer service and asked about the code, but they said sorry and there was nothing they could do. I'm very disappointed, I never wanted to waste so much money!

I order a handbag and wallet on 12/21/2015. I received the handbag very quickly and a note that stated I would be notified when the wallet was shipped. By January 13th I still had not heard anything on the wallet so I emailed customer service at ILoveDooney.com. I got response that simply stated when we ship it we will let you know. I tried to email and call again with no response. If they would have advised it was back ordered or given some kind if time frame I would have been ok but to cut off communication was not ok. I opened a complaint with the BBB and found MANY complaints against this company. With the help of the BBB I did receive my wallet; a month after it was ordered and paid for. However while the wallet looked new, was in a box with all tags attached I found another's persons medical ins card and AAA membership card inside so obviously not new never used merchandise. This was my 3rd time ordering from ILoveDooney.com. The first time 2 times the transactions were perfect but after this experience and viewing the other complaints I won't order from then again. I suggest that anyone that does uses caution.
At the end of 2015 I ordered a purse from Dooney and Bourke. It was beautiful. It was so stunning that I ordered it in navy blue. 3 months later the small sewn- in tabs on the handles to hold the strap ends down started to become unstitched. Pretty soon there will be none left to hold down the leather ends of the shoulder strap. I am reluctant to contact Dooney and Bourke/ilovedooney because I did not register either of my bags.
I am horrified that I paid so much money for two(2) defective bags . The fact that they were Dooney and Bourke bags really upset me. The quality of Dooney & Bourke is not what it use to be. I am hanging on to the leather 'tabs' that have fallen off (when I see them) and will take them to a leather craftsman this spring. This will cost me approximately $120.00.
