I received a vanilla gift card as a gift. Went to use a $100.00 gift card and there was only $1.83 on the card. I opened the package myself. Nothing looked tampered with. Card was compromised. They pulled $5.00 to $7.00 increments at a time to Amazon Digital according to paperwork they sent me. I called the number on the back of the card and placed on hold for hours. Vanilla gift cards were to send dispute papers via email and never received them. Called 5 times and still no dispute paperwork and place on hold 2 hours every time plus another hour for a supervisor. Calling Asia is where the customer service line is from. Very frustrating. Finally got the dispute paperwork after calling 6 times and waiting on line until she sent it thru email. All information on paperwork was spelled incorrectly due to language barrier. Went over it and spelled it several times. This company knows there is an issue with security on these cards. They need to FIX IT. I am still waiting for resolution. They stated 90 days maybe. Do not buy these gift cards. Nothing but an absolute headache. They need to stand behind their product.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of $100.00 and not in a gift card!
I was given a vanilla gift card in the amount of $100 and immediately activated and registered the card with a PIN number. Prior to my attempting to use the card, I checked making sure funds were available, which they were--however when I presented the card for payment a HOLD had been placed on the card. Calling the number on the card, waiting for one hour, I finally spoke to an individual, most likely in the South Pacific, explaining the problem. She couldn't tell me why a HOLD was placed on the card, however if I wanted a replacement I would have to (1) send the receipt (2) a picture of my DL, (3) statement with my address, this after giving her my email address, home address and phone number. I explained that the card was a gift and a receipt was not available. Since there was a language barrier, I asked if she could email me information as to where I was to send the requested information. I was told she couldn't email anything. Going forward, I will caution people regarding buying VANILLA GIFT CARDS. I for one will never purchases VANILLA GIFT CARDS, THEY'RE TOO RISKY. I will however try contacting someone at the Georgia phone number.
