This is a complaint about ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and its owner, James Anthony Dwyer.
It became aware to me that James is offering fake Level 3-5 TEFL courses, that James is running a clandestine TEFL reviews website, and that James is the owner of the accreditation website that he claims independently accredits his TEFL courses.
In addition to these complaints, James uses promises of donations to the Save the Children charity as a way to gain more TEFL student customers.
To date, James has only ever made one payment to Save the Children, for US$20.
I run a TEFL reviews website and I wrote an article, exposing James for his scam.
The article:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/10/09/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
James Dwyer's response to my article was to threaten legal action against me.
He also wrote to me:
"You crazy fat, depressed c*. You’re just jealous. Loser".
I advise having nothing to do with James Anthony Dwyer and his two TEFL programs: ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and World TEFL Institute.
James is a British ex-pat, living in the Philippines.

December 6th, 2022 Update:
The legal threats from James Anthony Dwyer of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd (also the owner of World TEFL Institute) never materialized.
I was contacted by a supposed lawyer, through Facebook, but it soon became obvious that the so-called lawyer 'Mark Tanner' was a Facebook profile created by James Anthony Dwyer.
The 'Mark Tanner' Facebook profile was created on the same day that 'Mark Tanner' messaged me.
That's pretty sad.
James Anthony Dwyer then proceeded to leave appalling remarks on my reviews website, followed by threats of paying a dark-web hacker to inject SQL malware onto my reviews website.
It is just James Anthony Dwyer posturing.
Nothing has materialized, apart from continued harassment by James in the form of behind-the-scene email communication.

I must write that I wasn't expecting James Dwyer to so brazenly have a click farm downvote this complaint and other comments that are critical of him and his two TEFL programs.
By giving money to a click farm, James is exasperating the problem and contributing to the problem.
The people that work at click farms often work up to 20 hours per day and more often than not work in squalid conditions - sometimes against their will.
People like James Dwyer create a demand for click farms and they should be held responsible for the working conditions of the people at the bottom of the click farm pyramid that are essentially modern-day slaves.
Btw, I have created a separate complaint for GoAbroad.com because they must bear the responsibility for continuing to list ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute when they are fully aware that both TEFL programs operate under a fake accreditation website.
GoAbroad complaint - GoAbroad — Fake reviews and promotes tefl programs with fake accreditation
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. (and World TEFL Institute) July 26th, 2023 Update:
This is a 2023 new update for ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute because James Anthony Dwyer owns and operates both scam TEFL/TESOL websites.
We have some good news and some neutral news.
The good news:
James's TEFL programs have had their Paypal Business Account revoked.
This was due to the sheer number of customer complaints and successful chargebacks won.
The neutral news:
James has now partnered with Stripe.
Stripe is basically the same as Paypal, but Paypal has a significantly higher number of users worldwide.
James is now chastising TEFL companies that receive payments via a Paypal Business Account.
This is because Paypal basically fired James and his TEFL programs.
We do have to partly thank our readers for pressuring Paypal to revoke James's Business Account status as it wouldn't have been so swift without his comments published so brazenly on Trusted TEFL Reviews in this article:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
Finally, some karma for James Anthony Dwyer :)
I was a student on the course.
Paid $79 and thought I was getting a bargain.
The course was terrible and had no feedback whatsoever.
When I'd finished the course, James asked $199 USD for the course certificate.
A TEFL certificate that looks like a six year old designed it.
I politely declined the offer and took a different TEFL course instead.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd is a scam.
Take a look for yourself.
Type 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd Scam' into Google and you will see the real student feedback that James tries to hide under positive SEO posts.
The certificate from ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd is not government regulated and is not recognized by any reputable teaching schools.
It's a scam through and through.
James Anthony Dwyer is a personification of everything rotten in the Online TEFL/TESOL marketplace.
He began his TEFL career teaching English as a Foreign Language in Hua Hin and this should have been his one and only period of time in the field.
Instead, he started a Ltd. company in the UK - something that anyone with UK legal residence can do - and he then started his own Online TEFL/TESOL certification course program- after just a few years of TEFL teaching experience.
James Anthony Dwyer is a known scam artist.
He started out selling fake watches, and has progressed to selling fake TEFL courses.
Although his TEFL company (ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd) is registered in the United Kingdom, it is actually operated from Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City, in the Philippines.
This means that his TEFL course certificates are issued from the Philippines.
With a certificate from ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd, you won't be eligible to teach English online or in any country apart from the Philippines.
We have also read the article on Trusted TEFL Reviews that exposes James Anthony Dwyer for his TEFL scam:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/10/09/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
It is shameful that James scams his TEFL students, and it is shameful that James uses Save the Children to promote his courses when he has only made a one-time donation of US$20.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd is the bottom of the TEFL certification course barrel; as is his other TEFL program: International TEFL Institute.
We are only writing this because James Anthony Dwyer has attacked us online with ridiculous claims that we are not a legitimate company and we don't pay our taxes.
James is living in a dream world where he thinks that he is a shining star of TEFL and where he thinks all of his business competitors are crooks.
Take any TEFL program, even the dirt-cheap Groupon courses, but, please, save yourself the money and hassle and avoid ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd at all costs.
We have attached a recent photo of James Anthony Dwyer, the one-man-show owner of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and World TEFL Institute.
Would you want to purchase anything from this man?
Perhaps, a fake watch - like the one he is wearing on his left wrist.
James has very little interest in education.
He sorely lacks sufficient TEFL training himself.
All he wants from you, is your money.
And in return, he will sell you a fake TEFL course and a fake TEFL certificate; both of which are overpriced and worthless.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd has just been kicked off the ESLbase.com platform, where it had a courses listing and some fake reviews published- reviews written by James Anthony Dwyer, the owner of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd.
This is the first domino to fall for ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd regarding the websites that partner with it.
The evidence against James Anthony Dwyer and ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd is irrefutable:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/10/09/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
It's a rip-off program.
The course is cheap enough. Cheap when you compare it to other TEFL course programs.
You pay for what you get.
The course is just a collection of poorly-written texts with some videos that are not related to the content.
There is some coursework to complete but these are just odt docs.
It was like taking a course back in the 90's.
The real kicker comes at the end of the course when you are asked to pay for the certificate.
The cost for the digital certificate is US$199.
You have to send the certification fee money to the Philippines and through Western Union.
I had to send it to James Anthony Dwyer.
He specifically instructed me not to mention ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd on the Western Union form.
About a month later, I received the certificate by email and realised I'd wasted US$199.
The certificate didn't look professional.
It looked like a certificate template.
I managed to get my money back for the course because I'd paid through Paypal.
Couldn't get the certificate money back though because it was a Western Union payment.
If you are looking to save money on your TEFL certification, I would avoid ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and just pick a dirt-cheap Groupon TEFL course for US$20.
The Groupon TEFL courses do charge for the certificate but it's like only US$10.
Better yet would be to pay a bit more and go with a reputable TEFL course program.
Is ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd legit? No!
I enrolled in the "Level 5" TEFL course last week.
Soon afterwards I stumbled across this complaint, which then led me to other similar complaints online.
I also searched for "ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd scam" online and there are hundreds of student complaints about the program.
Have contacted Paypal to have my course fee refunded because ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd is a scam.
Buyer beware!
I wanted to make it known that I did get the full course fee refunded to my bank account.
You need to check the box on PayPal that the course was Not As Described.
I won the chargeback based on ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. running a fake TEFL accreditation website. All I had to do was take screenshots of the Trusted TEFL Reviews article and it was plain sailing from there on.
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
James Dwyer tried threatening me but I just ignored him.
I am super psyched that this complaint has grown legs and more and more of his scammed customers are showing everyone that the king has no clothes.
Have also filed a complaint with the American embassy in Manilla because the Philippines is where James Dwyer runs his two TEFL program scams.
This post was written by a fake reviews website and so were all these comments. You can read about this fake reviews website here. https://internationaltefltesol.com/tefl-online-pro-reviews/
Hi.
I'm going to add my two cents here as James Dwyer has personally attacked me online too.
James Dwyer's online TEFL websites are https://internationaltefltesol.com/ and https://worldteflinstitute.net/.
Both TEFL program websites claim to be independently accredited by the International TEFL/TESOL Accreditation Council: https://www.accreditationteflcouncil.com/
With approx. 20 years of managerial experience within the field of TEFL/TESOL training, I feel that I can be objective here with regards to James Dwyer and his two online TEFL programs- ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute.
1. James Dwyer began teaching English as a foreign language in Hua Hin, Thailand, in 2017.
Prior to this date, James had no teaching English as a foreign language experience.
2. In 2019, James registered the ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. company in the United Kingdom.
To register a company in the United Kingdom, you need to have a home address, an idea for a name of a company, and a small fee at hand to pay for the registration fee.
Incidentally, James registered a second TEFL company (World TEFL Institute) in the United Kingdom, in 2020.
3. There is nothing immoral in establishing a TEFL company when you have such a limited knowledge of the product or service (TEFL) that you are then planning on selling to the public.
It is, though, preferred that you have extensive knowledge of the product or service (TEFL) because your customers will then be receiving a far better product or service.
4. James openly pushes a number of false claims on his two online TEFL program websites:
a). His online TEFL programs are independently accredited.
This is false.
James owns and operates https://www.accreditationteflcouncil.com/
b). His online TEFL programs are United Kingdom government-regulated.
This is false.
His online TEFL programs are only registered in the United Kingdom.
They are not regulated by anyone except by James.
c). He has a team of CELTA and DELTA-qualified teachers as support workers for his TEFL students.
This is false.
James is the one-man-show owner and support worker at ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute.
When you purchase a course with either program, you will be dealing exclusively with James Dwyer and his many aliases.
This means that whilst you might receive a support email from someone other than James, in reality it will be James using an assumed name.
d). His online TEFL courses are of the highest quality.
This is false.
Customers of both his online TEFL programs complain that the course content is woefully inadequate.
e). His online TEFL programs regularly receive four and five-star reviews.
This is true and false.
It is true because James Dwyer's two online TEFL programs do regularly receive four and five-star reviews.
It is false because James writes the reviews himself.
The majority of his customers find James Dwyer's online TEFL courses on GoAbroad.com.
James writes his own reviews on GoAbroad.com and GoAbroad turn a blind eye because they earn a percentage of every sale in the form of affiliate commission fees.
f). James will donate a percentage of your course fee purchase to the Save the Children charity.
This is false.
James has only ever made a one-time donation to Save the Children of approx. US$20.
g). The course certificates issued by ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute are internationally recognised and can be legalised for teaching jobs worldwide.
This is false.
No reputable employer or reputable visa department recognises the TEFL certificates issued by ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute.
h). James offers Level 3 and Level 5 TEFL courses.
This is false.
All of the courses that James offers are exactly the same.
He has just added the 'Level 3' and 'Level5' labels to them because he knows that many people search for Level 3 and 5 TEFL courses online.
To sum up:
If you purchase a TEFL course from ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute, you will be purchasing a subpar and woefully inept TEFL certification course that is not accepted by the majority of employers online and worldwide.
Instead, you will be purchasing a TEFL course that was created by an individual with limited TEFL experience and with a moral bar that is as low as it comes.

The TEFL Industry needs to be rid of con artists such as James Dwyer and his two unregulated online TEFL programs ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. and World TEFL Institute.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. is a scam program.
I was half-way through when I checked the accreditation website connected to the program and was aghast at how obviously connected with program it was, and how fake it was.
Someone needs to look into this program more deeply because it is like a Nigerian scam online.
I only had communication with someone named "James".
Probably not his real name.
Go with a better program.
There are many better options.
I am going to sign up with the Bridge TEFL program after getting my refund from Paypal.
Avoid this program. It's a scam.
This is obviously the owner of the scam website Trusted tefl reviews. For one, no one named Sarah G has taken our courses. 2, we very seldom sell courses through PayPal. All of our students choose to pay with a card on our website. We have been receiving abusive emails from fake email accounts for the past year now and it's obviously Neville Thomas the scam artist who created trusted tefl reviews and tefl online pro. This person has something wrong with his brain and seriously needs help. Just do a simple google search "tefl online pro scam" and you'll be able to read about all the scams he has done.
Well, I paid for my ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. fake Level 5 TEFL course with my credit card and when I received the refund from my bank they said the transaction had taken place through Paypal.
I wish to remain anonymous for fear of further retaliation by the owner of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. He doxed me when I complained about the program. I enrolled in the belief that the program was accredited. I also enrolled in the belief that it was a legitimate Level 5 TEFL course. Both turned out not to be true. When I complained to the owner, he began arguing with me and then I found out later that he published my private information online. I can't believe he gets away with this! Now, I read on the trustedteflreviews.com website the full extent of his (James Anthony Dwyer) scam. It's all there in plain black and white for all to read. The extent of his scam is just incredible. Please don't pay any money to this man because he may use your personal details against you in the future, as he did with me. I've noticed that every time someone writes a negative review of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. that the owner dismisses it as a fake review. This is a tactic regularly used by scammers. I wish to further add that I completely agree with Cynthia's review. I also paid via Paypal. I paid with my credit card and when I received my course money back from my bank they said it had gone through Paypal to get to James Anthony Dwyer. So James is lying. He uses Paypal for direct payments and for debit and credit card payments. He has all of my details and he basically sold them on the dark web. All because I insisted on a refund because his course is a fake TEFL course. AVOID!
This whole complaint was written by a scam artist, that goes by the name of Neville Thomas. He is the owner of Trusted TEFL reviews and TEFL online pro. You can copy and paste this link to read all about his scam https://internationaltefltesol.com/tefl-online-pro-reviews/
I posted my ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. review less than 12 hours ago and it already has 62 downvotes. This is odd because it's late Friday night. Obviously, the owner has paid a click farm to downvote my review; probably the same people that he sold my personal information to! I read that the owner does this click farming on a regular basis. Here is where I read it:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/

Wow! You really are running with the whole 'I'm being scammed' thing when it is you scamming people left and right! After I wrote my review, I was hoping you would at least acknowledge my concerns. Instead, you got a click farm to downvote my review and it got 62 downvotes in less than 24 hours and it was on a Friday night. It's obvious it was a click farm. Again, my advice to anyone considering taking a ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd course, or a World TEFL Institute course (both owned by James Dwyer) is to search online for 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL scam' or 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL reviews'. You will see the extent of the scam and the irrefutable evidence. I thought that Trusted TEFL Reviews has done an amazing job peeling back the onion skin of the scam by presenting images that clearly show James Anthony Dwyer has been running a TEFL scam for the past few years. It really is all there in black and white: https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
Dear ITT International TEFL and TESOL Victim,
We can confirm that James Anthony Dwyer, the owner of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. (and World TEFL Institute) does pay click farms and he does pay for services on the dark web.
James wrote a "complaint" about our company on December 24th and then (miraculously) within a few days there were hundreds of downvotes for positive reviews and hundreds of upvotes for negative posts (negative posts written by our business competitors).
He paid a click farm to do this, as we can see he has done with your review.
James paid some hacker from Bangladesh to try and inject SQL Malware onto our website, but he was unsuccessful.
Go with any TEFL program, just not with the ones operated by James Anthony Dwyer.
Paul Murphy | Operations Manager | TEFL Online Pro
This whole complaint has been written by a scam artist "Neville David Thomas." He owns Trusted TEFL Reviews and a bad TEFL course company called TEFL Online Pro. He attacks reputable TEFL companies by writing fake reviews. You can copy and paste this url to see all the information. https://internationaltefltesol.com/tefl-online-pro-reviews/
ITT International TEFL and TESOL is not a reputable company! I've read that the owner (James Dwyer) writes reviews for his own programs, created the fake accreditation website which he claims accredits his fake Level 3-5 TEFL courses, doxes customers that demand their money back (happened to me) and offers a certificate at the end of the course which is not highly regarded by online or in-person employers of English teachers. It's all a big scam. I'm actually in contact with a few other people who were scammed after purchasing their ITT International TEFL and TESOL course and we have created a Discord group where we discuss how to prevent more people from falling for this scam. Really, please do your research. Search online for 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL Scam' or ITT International TEFL and TESOL reviews' and you will see that I am not alone; the I am not the only customer of this program who was scammed. Instead of addressing me directly, James has gone on a rant about me being a competitor of his business. I've never owned a business! James, could you at least give an apology? You doxed me and sold my private information on the dark web. You are a horrible person and I wish I had never purchased a TEFL course from you!
This complaint and all these comments are fake, written by a scam artist who owns trusted tefl reviews and writes fake reviews about reputable tefl course providers. You can read all about this scam in this article https://internationaltefltesol.com/tefl-online-pro-reviews/
This straight from the scammer's playbook. After I was scammed and my information was doxed by James Dwyer, I did a quick check online and saw that a lot of other people have had bad experiences with this business. He (James) calls this website a scam too, but the proof is written in black and white: https://trustedteflreviews.com/category/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-blacklisted-warning/
This is straight from the scammer's playbook; a claim that the reviewer is someone who they are not. You know 100% James that I was a student on your course. After I was scammed and my information was doxed by James Anthony Dwyer, I did a quick check online and saw that a lot of other people have had bad experiences with this business. Search online for 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL scam' or 'ITT International TEFL and TESOL reviews'. The evidence is clear.
Why have you registered your comment, James Dwyer, as being a comment posted from the US? When my bank dealt with my refund from your SCAM TEFL/TESOL program the refund was processed from the Philippines. You claim to be a UK registered company but you are really a company in the Philippines. You are such a SCAM! ITT International TEFL and TESOL and World TEFL Institute are SCAMS! It is obvious that they are. Avoid like the pandemic!
It's so obvious this trusted tefl reviews is the real scam here, not itt.
It's so obvious that ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. is a scam.
Just do a search for ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. Scam.
You can also take a look at the horrendous accreditation website that James Dwyer created:
https://www.accreditationteflcouncil.com/
Doesn't it scream SCAM to you too? It should.
I think the most damning piece of evidence here in this complaint is the fact that GoOverseas no longer promotes ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. because it has received so many reports of scams by customers of the program.
ESLbase also took ITT off its platform completely after multiple scam complaints.
Remember that James Dwyer runs two SCAM TEFL programs.
They are ITT and World TEFL Institute.
I would bet my bottom Dollar that James is scrambling to create a third dodgy TEFL program website as I write this complaint.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd., which is owned and operated by James Anthony Dwyer, has been reported to the UK Trading Standards.
We felt it necessary to report James to the UK Trading Standards because we were reading more and more accounts from TEFL students that had taken an ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. course and then had discovered that their TEFL certificate was worthless; backed by a fake accreditation website that James created himself.
We also felt it necessary to report James to the UK Trading Standards because James has, for the past few months, been waging a misinformation campaign against TEFL Online Pro.
James even had gone so far as to start a Google Ads smear campaign against us (screenshot of email attached showing proof of this and showing the typical response from the owner of ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd).
The main issues with ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd:
1. Fake accreditation
2. False claims of charity donations
3. Fake Level 3-5 TEFL courses
4. Fake reviews
5. Use of click farms and smear campaigns against competitors and customers
6. Poor course content quality
7. James Anthony Dwyer
Mia Williams summed everything up so well by presenting the ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd. scam in articles on her independent TEFL/TESOL reviews website:
https://trustedteflreviews.com/category/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-blacklisted-warning/
TEFL Online Pro has responded to the smear campaign with a rebuttal on the TEFL Online Pro school website:
https://teflonlinepro.com/refutation-of-allegations-made-by-our-business-competitors/
Paul Murphy | Operations Manager | TEFL Online Pro
James Anthony Dwyer added to his previous email with another incredulous email response (attached).
You just don't want to be doing any business whatsoever with James Anthony Dwyer and his two fake TEFL programs: ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd., and World TEFL Institute.
Paul Murphy | Operations Manager | TEFL Online Pro
TEFL Online Pro would just like to add that because James Anthony Dwyer uses click farms, he is able to pay them to downvote or upvote comments in this complaint.
It is obvious that James has paid a click farm to downvote the negative comments in this complaint.
We wish James a lovely weekend; paying click farms to upvote or downvote whichever content he feels is worth the cost to himself and to the individuals that work in the horrid conditions in the click farms.
James Anthony Dwyer: shame on you.

It wasn't a shock to me reading about this because I always thought it was a scam TEFL/TESOL program and I had a feeling it was run just by one person. If it were run by someone with the qualifications and experience to do so, I don't think people would mind so much. I've read on Trusted TEFL Reviews that the one guy who runs ITT International TEFL and TESOL was only teaching for a very short time before he created the company and that he (James Dwyer) has no formal TEFL qualifications, except for a questionable TEFL course he took just a year before setting up ITT International TEFL and TESOL.
This became clear to me very early on when I noticed glaring grammar and spelling errors in the course. As another reviewer has pointed out, the course is just a collection of videos ripped from YouTube and some nonsensical chunks of text. The ITT International TEFL and TESOL course (which I found on GoAbroad) was all over the place. It wasn't consistent at all and I don't think anyone could become a good TEFL/TESOL teacher after taking it.
I decided to bail on the second day and asked the manager (James Dwyer) for a refund because according to the Terms and Conditions I was eligible for one because it was within the 7-day refund window. I never heard back from James. After many more attempts at trying to contact James Dwyer, I simply contacted my bank and they handled the refund for me. Later on, I did receive a poor excuse as to why ITT International TEFL and TESOL weren't able to give me my refund directly and this was because of the pandemic. It made absolutely no sense because I signed up when the pandemic was happening and he was able to accept my money then.
I now chalk it up to being a life lesson learned because after I received my refund I went with another TEFL/TESOL program and that was a real program (not a fake one like ITT) and I've now been teaching for the past couple of years. I teach online and I have a few in-person classes.
Search online for ITT INTERNATIONAL TEFL AND TESOL LTD SCAM and you will see the truth about this program and its appalling owner James Dwyer.
I was fortunate to notice the scam early on.
If you are reading this and are a current student of the program, my advice is to try and get a refund ASAP. James will never give you your money back, but your bank or Paypal will. Just tell them that the goods or services were Not As Described.
Good luck!
Erin
I received a response from GoOverseas.com about ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and they wrote:
"We actually don't actively promote this provider anymore because of multiple scam complaints. The only way you can get to their main page on Go Overseas is through an old link, and even if you do land there you'll see an FYI that the organization is not being promoted.
The program is also expired with the same note, but not removed from Google because of SEO implications." - Alyssa
Hi Erin. I was also scammed by James Dwyer. Took the Level 5 course (which isn't even a Level 5 course) and paid the obligatory US$199 for the hardcopy certificate. Was given assurances from James that the certificate is widely accepted in Vietnam. Went to Vietnam. Not one school accepted the certificate. Currently at Doha airport and waiting for my onward flight back to the States. Completely wasted time and money. I feel embarrassed that I was scammed. It is embarrassing to realise that some guy in the Philippines is behind the whole scam and I didn't work it out until it came to trying to use the certificate. James writes that his certificates are fully accredited. They are not. The accreditation website that James says fully accredits his courses is just awful. It is a website that James created. I see that he has stopped trying to defend himself because he obviously understands that he has no answers to all of the proof laid out against him and his scam TEFL programs. I have contacted the fraud department in the United Kingdom and in the Philippines. They take scams seriously and it is only a matter of time before James is arrested. For anyone who is even considering taking one of his courses, read this first: https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
And this one:

Someone also called out Go Abroad for continuing to promote his scam:
GoAbroad — Fake reviews and promotes tefl programs with fake accreditation
Hope to read that you are behind bars soon in a Filipino jail, James Dwyer.
It is crazy the lengths that trusted tefl reviews will go to make a company look like a scam. The fact is, trusted tefl reviews is a fake reviews website and tries to make reputable tefl course providers like itt look like a scam. It is also crazy how someone has the time to write all these fake comments. The real owner of trusted tefl reviews is Neville David Thomas, a psychotic individual. Luckily, no one takes his website seriously and all the real tefl course providers can operate as normal.
As soon as you read this article https://internationaltefltesol.com/tefl-certification-scams/ you will see for yourselves.
Everyone can see that James Dwyer has paid a click farm to upvote his comments and downvote negative comments.
Here are the facts about James Dwyer.
- He runs two TEFL programs: ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd., and World TEFL Institute.
- He falsely claims that both programs are UK government regulated.
- He runs the courses full-time from Cebu City in the Philippines.
- His programs have been banned from ESLbase and GoOverseas because so many students have complained of being scammed by James.
- He writes his own reviews for his programs.
- He created the accreditation website that he claims fully accredits his courses.
- He lies about giving money to the Save the Children charity.
- He has doxed customers that successfully won a chargeback refund on their course.
- He has created fictitious identities of people whom he claims works for both of his TEFL programs.
- His customers are obliged to pay $199 for their course certificate.
- His customers have complained that they can't use the certificate for reputable teaching jobs.
The evidence is irrefutable:

In response to the Trusted TEFL Reviews article, James has responded with numerous vile comments.

I'm attaching a recent photo of James Dwyer.
The itt tefl course is a good course and this complaint was obviously written by a scam artist. The certificate from itt is accepted by almost any school. I did a Google search for "trusted tefl reviews scam" and the whole of the first page is full of complaints about trusted tefl reviews being a scam.
Anyone that reads this should disregard tge complaint and do some research about the trusted te reviews scam and the tefl online pro scam. You'll see then that this is a fake complaint.
This is a fake review.
You can tell.
Catherine.
He looks like someone you would buy a dodgy car from.
Not someone you would purchase a training course from.
ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd and World TEFL Institute are clearly scams run by a used car salesman type.
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
I found this article as I was scrolling the web for more information about this scam program - https://trustedteflreviews.com/2022/11/14/itt-international-tefl-and-tesol-ltd/
The comments written by James Dwyer are simply shocking.
Catherine.
This company trashes its competitors online with misinformation.
Would I take a TEFL course with https://internationaltefltesol.com/?
No, I wouldn't.
Why would I take a TEFL course that's accredited by a fake accreditation shell company, operated from the Philippines?
I wanted to write a review because I completed the ITT program and I am shocked at many of the comments written on this page.
My itt experience was similar to the reviews found on GoAbroad. That is to say that I thought the program was excellent. Perhaps this is why this program gets a lot of heat from its competitors? I can understand it. If I were a competitor of ITT, I would be worried if I were not able to up my game to their level.
I'm going to briefly go over the positives of the program and then list a few areas in which I thought there was room for improvement.
The positives were:
A. The course (120-Hour Professional) was mid-priced when compared to other program options. I didn't want to buy a really cheap course and I didn't want to overspend either. The course fee was in the Goldilocks zone for me.
B. There were various options with which to purchase the course. I chose to purchase using my Amex card, but I could also have paid via my Paypal account. I view both options as safe and secure. It was just easier for me to pay with my credit card.
C. The course has online tutor support at no extra charge, so it's included in the course price. My tutor was only a phone call, email, or private message away. Never had to wait more than a few hours for a reply when I sent an email or PM. Phone calls were always answered.
D. I really loved the self-paced study aspect of the course. This meant I could log in to the course whenever I wanted and start off from where I last left off.
E. Within a few seconds of purchasing my course, I received an email with my login password and username. This program doesn't have specific start dates so you can begin when you want to. I chose to begin right away and it took me about three weeks to complete everything.
F. The course works on the modular system with multiple-choice questions after each one. These mini tests after each module were a lot less stressful and a lot more fun than having to do one final exam at the end.
G. The course is interactive with many activities and games that I have been using in my classes since completing the course.
H. My course certificate was delivered to me within a day of course completion. I opted for the digital certificate. There is also the option of a hardcopy certificate. I might get this one as well later on but so far the digital certificate has been good for online and in-person teaching jobs (Cambodia and Vietnam). I did think I needed a physical copy of my TEFL/TESOL certificate for the Vietnam work visa application, but as it turns out the digital TEFL/TESOL certificate is fine. Some teachers have said they were asked for the physical copy, so definitely check before you apply. It looks like it depends on where you are applying for your work visa and which type of school you will be teaching at?
I. As well as support being excellent during the course, it was also excellent after the course. Paul Murphy helped me find my first online teaching job and he also helped me find my in-person teaching job where I'm teaching now (Cambodia).
The room for possible improvements were:
A. I would have liked to have had the option to pay for the course using crypto currency. I checked and none of these TEFL/TESOL programs offer this payment option. As mainstream adoption of crypto advances, I hope they embraces it as an additional payment option.
B. The first module was too easy and it made me question whether I had made the right choice of TEFL/TESOL program. I understand the need to gradually assimilate students into the course, but felt the first module was generally a filler module.
C. One of the questions in Module three seemed to me like it was a trick question. I took it up with my tutor and she replied that it is there to prevent students from skim-viewing the content and heading straight for the quiz and that it encourages students to fully take in the content in the modules. I do understand this logic, but I still think there is no need for (what I saw as being) a trick question.
As you can see, the positives of the ITT program outweighed the negatives.
I'm currently living and working in Siem Reap, where I teach English to a range of students. I also teach some online classes still because I developed close relationships with these students and I want to keep improving their lives through my English teaching.
I am moving on from Cambodia very soon. I've been accepted for a teaching job (teaching English) in Hanoi and all of my paperwork has now been given the green stamp of approval by the powers that be in Vietnam. I move there in two months to begin teaching at an international school.
I hope I can still keep a hold of my online students. I'm gonna try my best to but the job in Vietnam means more in-person teaching hours and some mandatory teacher meetings.
I recommend teaching in Cambodia. I've absolutely love the people, culture, food, and the general vibe.
My reason for moving to Vietnam is purely financial. I'll be earning three times more there than what I've been earning here, and Vietnam isn't so much more expensive than Cambodia.
Do I recommend ITT? Yes.
Have I recommended TEFL Online Pro to other people? Yes.
Do I recommend teaching English online? Yes.
Do I recommend teaching English in Cambodia? Yes.
Do I recommend teaching English in Vietnam? I'll find out very soon!
