I have never in my life been more disappointed with a day care facility in my life. I have two daughters (six and seven)that I enrolled in Kinder Care in the middle of August 2009 and they currently attend Kinder Care for the before and after school care. Through the years my daughters have attended 3 other day cares and Kinder Care is the first one that I actually feel obligated to rant and rave and warn other parents not to utilize as a day care. Now even though I do get assistance from the state to pay my day care, and Kinder Care waived the $150.00 anual tuition fee(on top of the weekly attendance fee) I still feel that at the end of the day this is all about money. I get assistance from the state that helps with the payment of daycare which is $79.00. Kinder Care charges $90/week for their before and after school care (need to say since August I have only utilized the before school option once). Though I still have to pay a $22.00 co pay every single week. I am not complaining because I do know that there are parents that do not get assistance and actually have to pay the full amount. And after doing research I found that Kinder Care is really raking in the bucks. After calling around I found that similar day cares are offering the same before and after school care that kinder care is offering for anywhere to 45-60 dollars a week. Which I found to be astounding.
Besides the money issue, ever since my daughters have been @ this particular facility they have had numerous incident reports. Every time I turn around there is a new face to get to know, they have a high turnover. They just hired a new Director which I thought would change things a bit. Boy was I wrong. The new director is very rude and inconsiderate and for the most part is not professional at all. Kinder Care is the first day care facility where I honestly feel they could care less about my kids. I would not recommend this ANY Kinder Care to my worst enemy let alone a stranger. Do not send your kids here.

I am currently a teacher at a KinderCare and have been for 4 years, and two centers. I have also worked at small, private day care centers. KinderCare is a big business like any other big business. They are concerned with their bottom line. Plain and simple. They care about the children, but to say that it's their TOP priority would be a lie. At both centers I worked at EVERY employee will agree with me on that. I stay because I love the children and the families, but it is a frustrating environment to say the least. Crappy pay. Stressful work. That is why there's such a high turn-over... But just so you know...ALL day care's have a relatively high turn-over. It seems like a fun job until you have to do it for more than a few months. Like I said, I love what I do, but it is not what most people think it's like. I suggest to you AVMezro, look into a small independent center. You might have better luck. Also, it's not really the directors in charge at KinderCare. They're relatively low on the totem pole, don't make as much as you think (our assistant director made $13an hour!) They have LOTS and lots of people to answer to as well. Something to think about. Good luck to you.
My last day was yesterday at Kindercare in Wisconsin. Boy am I glad to be done.
My director at Kindercare made us sit and wait in the mornings until the classroom was over in ratio. Some mornings I would wait from 15-1 hr... I called the District Manager and she had no idea that this was going on with all of the staff... Also, I had to buy all my classroom supplies and there was never enough time to work on the lesson plan. Director didn't do S*** all day, just sat in her office or gone half the time. NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS PLACE...
This place is ridiculous, unprofessional and just typical of a large business with under trained directors and assistant directors.
The assistant director I worked under was hospitalized for having a MAJOR psychotic breakdown, and they hired her back and she walks around with this huge bottle of pills, won't even come in the classrooms to help out- and we are always over ratio.
SERIOUSLY- WHO HIRES THESE PEOPLE and feels that they are qualified to be in the positions they are in to run these places and care for our kids? I see more professionalism in the day care teachers than I do those running them.
