Kirby Company review: Lack of parts support for loyal owners

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

Only TWO parts are offered for my still useful 33 yr old Kirby. I went to the kirby.com > Customer Support > Older Models > Legend II (purchased in 1990). Results: Owner Manual, Brush Roll, Pack of 3 Belts. I also used the search function for parts like hose and motor brushes, which wear out and need replacing. Search result is either NOT FOUND or in the case of the hose, a G5 hose for $50, which would not fit my vacuum.

I have to laugh at the folks who think Kirby vacuums EVER had a "Lifetime Warranty".

1.) Did anyone ever get this in writing?

2.) How would a company stay in business if they provided Lifetime service, other than charging maybe $5,000 per unit, along with a certified registration scheme to insure only the original purchaser got the Lifetime coverage?

These units have always been (and still are) sold door-to-door, so that prospective customers may experience a demonstration on their own carpeting. If any sales person promised any warranty, wouldn't SOME folks have asked for it in writing?

Desired outcome: Kirby should offer replacement parts for older models.
