Hired Kris Anderson to shoot family pictures and vow renewal on May 23 2008. Showed up un-groomed with wife and son. Extremely unprofessional. Requested payment upfront and added on additional costs for things that were claimed to be included. I have yet to receive any of my prints and will now be taking legal action. No shots were coordinated or posed and settings on camera captured all the wrong lighting and shadows. There is absolutely nothing professional about Kris Anderson and unless you want to be extremely disappointed and have such a special occasion completely ruined stay far far away.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Aloha,
I am Kris Anderson Photographer. I tryed to attach a wonderful photo of this girls renewal - but it's not working here. I reduced it to 47 K - as always - should be easy.
I'll post it at http://www.konawedding-blog.com --- on the cliff.
They had their renewal on a cliff above the ocean - not recommended by me at all.
Back in 2007 and 2008 I used to wear my custom made white delux cotton shirt - I bought 1, 000 of them and sold out by now - except for a few. I used to wash those shirts so they were really white - way cool cotton. My pants were White cotten desiner - as I remember - at least $110.00 pants.
I have never had to go to a wedding with sad looking cloths - that's for sure.
I have also done many many Jewish Weddings.
As I remember she paid me $416.00 - not allot by any means. She has some 150 phto's and a cool video - on the cliff.
Note that she doesn't say my photography or video was bad. Every exposure was right on. She selected the cliff location. Something about shadows ? I don't understand. it was high noon. I can't control the sun at noon - go to A-Bay then.
I can easy select many of her photo's for advertising if I wanted. I just don't like that location. You can see the photo's look awesome. The problem was - one background - no alternative lighting.
As a wedding photographer for so many years - we get some stuff like this. However - all my work can stand for itself. I made no mistakes in this case - not to say I've never made a misake. Rare nowdays for sure.
I'll go and post a photo of the "Cliff Renewal " at:

A place to dicuss weddings in Hawaii.
I used to see some couples unable to deal with a CD with 150 images ready for printing on it. It's so easy to make prints - for a lifetime. I also archive everything - just as in this case.
I use MPIX.COM .29 cents a print with color corection - kodak endura paper. Even walMart has the nice machines - so easy.
My exposures are usually near perfect as you can get.
Get ready - now I have 2 kids. Often my Wife will come to the beach - not the wedding.
If anyone is interested I can publish all the photo's in number order. I am not afraid to show everything I did that day - or any date.
Actually she picked the location - not me. Also I'll bet my cloths cost more than her Husbands - who cares ?

I think I have a photo with the shirt I was wearing. Also my pants were Ralph Loren ( no doubt as I remember) white cotten. This photo was when I had a day off - in shorts - same shirt. I had 1, 000 of these shirts made.
Normally if I'm driving to a new location I'd change into my wedding cloths around the corner or so. My shirt and pants are washed and ironed. I would carry them in a plastic cloths thingy. I shower or bath before each wedding. It's my rutine.
To go futher I rarely touch any of my subjects - as most Pros do the same. If something needs adjusting I'll have the groom or Minister do it.
Anyway - now that I can post photo's let me go back and post at least one more. This location was difficult but a nice lucky day.
I had little choice for lighting - can't use inside the house - off limits by the owner - who is standing there watching.
It's not an excuse - check the eyes - the natural light I found there.
Also I might add - since she brought up the clothing thing is - I've never seen a renewal where the Women wore a veil. It's a renewal - and during my 20 plus years of doing renewals - I've never seen the Women in a veil. OK the white dress - I guess.
It's a Renewal - not a wedding. I love Renewals.
I am confused how she can bad mouth me and my family so easy on this site. Maybe it's a good thing. But who checks what is right. Like how do I even know ?
So let use it to show more photo's I guess.
Ok - do some shots look unposed ?
I hate to admit sometimes I pose couples. Actually I've photographed more weddings - if I said the number you wouldn't believe me.
it's not 4, 000 weddings it's not 5, 000 weddings - I've never done a wedding where I didn't pose the couple - but we don't want it to look that way.
Really we can all see the above photo's are posed. what is she talking about. Where are the bad shadows ?
there was the basic shot "cliff hanger" high noon. I made no exposure mistakes. Imagine this location on an average day - much worse.
I also found natural light - the only place. I arrived 1 hour early - no couple - I waited and checked out the situation. They were actually sleeping up above - not at this location.
I never ask for money up front - at least in this case. They were finished and paid me after I had done all requests. She makes it sound like I arrived and asked for cash - totally not true. I was paid after I finished all requests - no doubt.
She was such a problem I did extra editing on her video and gave her all the some 100's of images - no extra charge. She didn't even pay the $36.00 for the release.
She started the clothing thing - about me. I was dressed better - who cares. what about some Women in a Veil and Wedding dress - no excuss about a missed wedding- it's a Renewal. She was dressed weird not me.
Actually to this day I can post 100 + great photo's - as I look at them tonight. No problem with her video - that we know. I remember I sent a copy of her video to the Minister. When I was making the photo's and video I felt good about it.
It just goes to show - Do A-Bay where we have such good lighting and backgrounds.
I wish this board would let me know when there is a complaint. It doesn't seem right to publish total BS without me knowing. In my business i can show the photographs and video. I am not some new or weird photographer.
I have more stories than you can imagine. I have actually spent most of my life shooting weddings.
I guess having a complaint board is just fine. I get most of my weddings via happy couples. Just like in a small town - people talk.
So let me talk too.
here we go - Where are the none posed photo's ? the shadows ? What is the truth ?
why does a girl dress with a veil for a renewal ? Is she somewhat sideways ? She had a wedding some 10 years ago already. No problem for me - really. whatever.
I never collected money from her in advance - it's a lie - flat out .
My shirt and pants where clean, pressed when I arrived. All white cotten in case it's a hot day.
It's true I often bring my Wife. Before we had kids she used to come to the beach all the time. Now even more but you might only see her for a second. I don't recomend the cliff location.
Why is it the photographers fault. The photo's and video look fine to me.
I charged some $400.00 for photography and video. One of my camera bags cost more than that.
It is true that as I looked around - I wanted to avoid making bad images.
Now that she has complained - I'm happy I didn't make any bad images. She couold rub them in my face.
A-Bay is much better for lighting and backgrounds.

It's hard to show print quality after reducing a photo so radically in photoshop - for publishing on the internet.
Mis Rothenthol said I did no posed photo's. I really don't like to admitt that I do pose so many photo's - but here we go. OK - I admit it.
It's so funny she says I did no posed photo's.
