Legacy Roofing and Construction LLC review: Roofing

Jody Moeggenberg of Gaylord, MI responded to a request I placed with Powell & Sons/Networx for roof replacement on a barn. He introduced himself as “Hello this is Jody with Fresh Coast Exteriors”. Before calling him I verified the company name and felt I was dealing with a legitimate company and not a fraudulent con artist. Jody bid the job for roof including “TWO FULL DAYS OF CLEANUP WITH MY TEAM OF 5 PEOPLE”. Once we agreed on a price he kept making excuses as to why he couldn’t email me a Contract (I live out of state). Long story short 6 months later, I have the original old roof, his “team” took off with scrap metal and he spent 1.5 days cleaning up with his wife and two adolescent children. He spent the $3,000 I paid him and NO ROOF. The 30 Ton dumpster he said he needed was expensive and unnecessary since GFL weighed it. I heard every excuse known to man as to why he wasn’t working — everyone he knew was either sick or injured or the weather was bad. Once I began to suspect he was a thief I called Fresh Coast and they said “He doesn’t work for us”. Major run around, loss of $, turns out a few days after he contacted me he formed LEGACY ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION LLC. Powell & Sons only apologized and told me to sue him and file a complaint with MI attorney general consumer protection. I absolutely will follow up with any and all State/County agencies to prevent this guy from stealing from others.
