In July a door-to-door salesman for Lumio Solar came to my door soliciting solar panels. While I do have a sign posted stating no solicitors, I have been interested in installing solar. I agreed to let another person from the company come over to show me their services.
The sales pitch was informative & I decided to move forward as financing was available. I signed contracts by end of August & was told to have access to my electrical panel available immediately as they moved quickly. There was no communication from Lumio until the beginning of December even after I reached out. I was informed I would have my power shut off for the installation & would need to make sure the electric panel was accessible. A week later than scheduled, the solar panels were all that was installed & power wasn't shut off to replace the electric panel as informed. I took time off of work because I was told my power would be off.
I contacted Lumio via phone and email numerous times to find out when my electric panel would be installed. After over 6 weeks of non-working solar panels, my electric panel was installed. A very crude & large chunk of my ceiling and walls were cut out for a 1/2" wire. I could more than comfortably fit my body in the holes created. I have been attempting to have the holes repaired since the end of January. Along with this, they changed breakers for other appliances that are the wrong size and would damage my appliances. They did not properly install a wire to pass inspection. I still have not been able to see the end of this project.
Lumio sent Costless Roofing, they have been unlicensed since November 2022, to do the patchwork. He covered the edges of the electric panel. The inspector cannot open it to pass it. The patch will have to be completely removed and redone properly. It is the worst drywall repair I have ever seen. Lumio will not let me do the work myself and compensate my efforts because I am not licensed...
Desired outcome: Refund, either full or a minimum of 1/4 of contracted amount.
