On the 23rd of Jan I went to see Dr. Smook at Medicross Roodepoort for a consult for Discovery spinal care consult. Dr's at medicross are registed for the program through discovery and can assist with activation for spinal care benefit with discovery. On the day of appointment I sat with the Dr. who gave the impression that he understood the task and I assisted him with completing a questionaire for the spinal care consult, he advised he completed and submitted. I waited a few days and didnt hear anything, I called Discovery who advised that they received no such request. I followed up with the dr. a week later who was dragging his feet in getting back to me. I got a hold of the hosptial manager Peter Heylig who told me it was a system glitch and that the doc could not submit the information, Peter assured me that he had spoken to their contact at discovery who managed to locate it on their end and it would reflect on the system in an hour for my specialist to action on their side. My specialist and I waited, checked with discovery numourous times and still nothing. I followed up with Peter again and told him about the terrible service from Medicross, and that I was debited for essentially not getting the service I requested. Peter seemed very cocky and said its not problem they will reverse it and was rather insensitve towards me as a patient at Medicross roodepoort. I asked him that I needed accounatability here and he was protecting his consultant over patient needs, he kept passing the buck back to doctor to resolve and re-register almost two weeks later for the same issue, a total waste of time. Medicross Roodepoort is an insenstive environment where patient needs are not really taken into account, they only want funds and if they do someting incorrectly you as a patient must just accept theri [censored]ty service while all they do is say sorry over and over and eventually the sorry is either a "you take it or leave it metaphor"
Claimed loss: Im in further pain. The least the hospital can do is reverse all consult payments they received for the 23rd and complete my spinal care activation free of charge for the mess up they created
Desired outcome: I want accountability for people not doing what they commit to especially in private medical care. Who messed up between parties.
