Our heater and hot water boiler went out on Christmas Eve morning. A local tech diagnosed the problem and said we needed new parts, but he didn't have them. He said most places keep them in stock. We don't usually use Meenan for oil, but they said they had the parts and a tech available to fix it. However, they wouldn't help us unless we were already their oil customers.

Meenan Oil Company, Inc. was my oil provider for a year. During that year, a technician came out and overrode my zones, so no matter what I turned the thermostats down to, the entire house continued to be heated. I was on a budget plan that was too low based on my oil consumption, and I did not receive any review or guidance to increase it. Instead, I was told I owed $1,000. I have paid and received credits for $500, and I am still being told I owe $1,000. I have never been more frustrated with a provider and am moving on to a new one.

Meenan put in a new oil heater that makes my house smell like oil and fumes. Boris P, the Meenan guy, said *** would pay for it, but I keep getting a bill from Meenan for $5,782.59. I tried to fix it, but Meenan won't answer me.

I was with Meenan Oil Company, Inc. for 27 years and they told me my next auto delivery would be around March 7th. This would give me time to apply for a ceiling price plan at $4.30 per gallon or find oil somewhere else. But on February 23rd, they auto delivered 151 gallons at $5.149 per gallon. In all the years I've been with them, their delivery dates were always accurate. This time, without a ceiling price plan and with an extremely high price, they decided to deliver two weeks early. What a dishonest move. Then Evette from the Customer Loyalty Program told me that the representative who told me early March was wrong. I called three times between January and February and each representative told me "early March". So much for being a loyal customer.

I signed up for Meenan Oil Company's heating oil delivery on 1/18 until 1/31. But on 10/4, I emailed them to stop the agreement at the end of the current pricing period. I wrote, "Please stop my oil delivery agreement by 1/31, end of current pricing period." They replied that they "stopped my account." They didn't deliver any more oil. But on 1/22, I got an invoice for $399 for "Early Termination Fee." I emailed them back, reminding them of my email to stop the agreement. They kept sending me monthly bills with late fees. But the contract says no late fees.

REVIEW - Been with Meenan for 25 years, but this winter was a mess. Got a bill for tank coverage, but didn't need a service contract. Called and asked if we could keep the tank agreement without a service contact, they said yes. Then got a contact for oil delivery and were told we had to have automatic delivery service since we had tank agreement. Never told about this before. Tank valve started dripping, but first two guys didn't have the part. Third party company came out, not identified by Meehan. Got a $70 bill for not having a service contact. Everyone we talk to gives us a different reason. Used to feel secure with Meehan, now just have issues. Want off this merry go round.
