MidAmerican Energy told us they gonna clear the lines and trim trees near our place. They hired Asplundh tree service for the job. They came over and drove on our yard, wrecking a rose bush by running it over. They didn't even bother telling us about the mess they made.

I signed up for the appliance recycling rebate program. I set up a date for them to pick up my refrigerator. They came and got it, and I was supposed to have received a rebate check for $50. This was in November. I still haven't received it and have called numerous times. They keep telling me they are following up, or the most recent message was, "We are reissuing the check." This was over a month ago, and still nothing.

Durng the week of August 22, we got a letter from MidAmerican tellin' us that tree trimmin' might happen soon in our 'hood. We came home on Sept. 1 to find out that our Lilac trees got completely wrecked, chopp'd into pieces, and the mess was left all over our sidewalk, street, and alley. These trees weren't even close to the powerlines and they've been on our property for years. Our landscapin' got totally ruined for no reason by the company they hired for this job. We complained to MidAmerican on their website, but they still ain't done nothin' 'bout this problem, the clean up, or compensatin' us for fixin' our landscapin'.

Last year, my neighbors called 'em up 'bout a worryin' tree danglin' over a powerline. MidAmerican said they'd swing by 'n give it a trim, but never showed up. My neighbor called 'em back a couple months later, 'n the MidAmerican fella said, "if they said they'd do it, 'n there's already a work order in, they'll get to it." MidAmerican never showed up to trim the tree. Fast forward to the end of August, the tree came crashin' down on the power line to my house 'n yanked the powerline right outta the side of my house. It cost me $600 to fix. I called MidAmerican 'n asked why they never came out 'n trimmed the tree, 'n they said, "we did. The work order was closed." When I told 'em my neighbors called multiple times 'cause they hadn't trimmed it yet, they said, "we don't have a record of that." I filed a complaint with their company 'n they said they'd look into it, 'n it's been 2 months now 'n I ain't heard a peep.

They just did a quick check and replaced the gas line, but now my house is full of problems. They damaged my retaining wall, messed up my landscaping, and now my boiler is kaput. I told them that the boiler was working fine before they came, but now we're freezing in the winter with more bad weather on the way. Their unqualified technicians tried to relight it multiple times and caused even more damage. They had the nerve to tell me to call a repair company to fix it. They caused the problem, but now it's my problem. I called the repair company, and they said I had to pay upfront and it would take hours to fix. MidA only agreed to pay for about 2 hours or $300. So now I'm stuck with the repairs. I'm wasting gas by running two fireplaces just to keep my kids, my fiancée, and myself warm. It's about time this company gets some competition and stops being a monopoly!

I paid $26.00 online and got an email saying my payment was received. But then, a week later, I got a letter saying my payment was returned and I would be charged. I called customer service and they said the email confirmation doesn't mean the payment went through. They said I put in the wrong checking account number. I've never had this problem before and I feel like I was lied to. If I did enter the wrong account number, the system should have caught it and told me right away that my payment was denied. The confirmation email made me think I did everything right. I think MidAmerican Energy's payment process is misleading and it's causing unnecessary fees and problems for customers. As a customer, I should know for sure that I paid my bill. If I made a mistake, I shouldn't have gotten a confirmation email. They need to review this process and let customers know that payments are still pending even after they're made. I shouldn't have to pay a fee for a returned payment when I actually tried to pay.
