This company is charging me monthly for credit reports and I can't find them to cancel. I will have to do this through my bank incurring additional charges.
hahahaha... I'm so glad someone finally said it... Instead of everyone coming on this website to complain.. how about you go back to the website and take a look at it... It CLEARLY states on several different pages that you will be enrolled in the monitoring service... I am 20 years old and as soon as it asked for my credit card info, I read everything to see why it needed it. It wasn't hard, or my favorite term "misleading"... It freaking says you will be charged after your trial period... I work for MNI.. and i take calls daily and listen to people claim they have been scammed. haha! READ THE WEBSITE! And then i deal with people that have been charged for YEARS and are just now calling to ask what this charge is... Here is what everyone should do... read what the hell you are doing... and most importantly check your bank/credit card statements.. how do you go years without knowing about charges!? This is why identity theft is the NUMBER 1 CRIME IN THE US! Because people do not pay attention to their finances!

I contacted them about a refund on services I NEVER agree to! They refused and said they sent emails, its strange that I have not received the emails when they said they were sent. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I contacted my bank and filed a FTC compliant.

The fact that these oh -so -helpful "agent" that answer phones at MNI are complaining about how many people are calling to cancel fradulent charges should tell you something. If it weren't such a scam, why would such a large number of people be claiming fraud?
I had no problem paying for a service even though I overlooked that I would be charged. Yet, I never received this "credit monitoring service" that was promised. That is where the real problem lies. Maybe if we were contacted concerning our credit, not as many people would be in the dark about being charged.

What a scam by such a low life bunch of people. The one thing that I can not help but notice is that you never receive a confirmation e-mail stating that you're enrolled in this so called monitoring service with an explaination of how it works. That's so it is never brought to your attention and never confirming that you are enrolled so the charges can keep being applied to your account numerous times.
Fortunately I am very anal about checking my accounts online and spotted this charge which was showing up for a second time. The first charge I just figured I had to eat, that I was just stuck with that from when I ordered my credit report. I immediately checked into this MNI co. when the charges showed up for the second time. I googled the phone number and was brought right to this complaint forum. Upon seeing this I then called my credit card co. to report this activity and low and behold I felt like I was getting the runaround from them. They would ask about the charge I was disputing, then transfer me and keep me on hold and I would eventually lose the call altogether. Finally the fourth time of calling back my credit card co. and just about spitting fire through the phone at them, a girl gets on the phone. She was talking so fast and barely understandable and starts telling me that they don't like to dispute these credit service companies because they are affiliated with the government and that sometimes the customer will wind up with some kind of adverse info on their credit reports do to filing a dispute with the co.. By this time I was just really irrate about the whole thing and she had told me she was going to go ahead and put a stop on the charges and that I would not be billed again.
The next day I started thinking about it again and figured that I had better call the company directly to cancel the "service" so that they couldn't claim that I wasn't paying for a service for which I had signed up for.I didn't want to take the chance of it showing up on my credit reportas some kind of deliquency. It pretty much went just as I had read here that it would when I called to cancel. Some girl answered and she sounded very uneducated and also nervous about the call. She tried her best to convince me that I needed the service. I even did the 2 step with her for a couple of minutes questioning their service and explaining to her that I had been enrolled in a credit monitoring service in the past and that her service did not seem to operate in a way that makes any sense. Finally I had to just tell her that I am calling to cancel and I don't want the service. She took my info as others had stated they would, social sec. number, name and e-mail address. She then told me that the service would be cancelled and that I would not see anymore charges showing up and also gave me a cancellation number to confirm the action.

I just got off the phone after finding the MNI* Creditrpt MN and CIC* Triple Advan. bills on my account.. I've got the cancellation number to confirm the action, but I'm worried they will attempt to continue charging me. I -never- signed up for a reoccurring charge to my bank when I used their 'free' services the first time. I'm wishing I'd checked up on who I was asking for credit reports sooner, obviously with complaints against these guys dating back to 2007 [and I believe I saw one as early as 2005], something should be done to force companies like this to add a 'cancel' button to their sites at the very least, and send confirmation emails out as soon as the action is taken. I'm really sick of finding services like this that try to be stealthy about their charges.
Like the last person posting, when I searched this company's charge on my statement, it brought me directly to this forum.

I just re-read the posts above mine, and yes, it does state on the website that the charges will be made after the free trial, HOWEVER, ANY site that does this sort of service asks for as much information as they can get to do a check [or so it seems...] I've only had one site that's given me issues with canceling their service after I've found that I don't need/want it, and that would be this 'free' credit report one. There shouldn't be a need to look up over the net to find exactly who they are. I never got the emails stating I was getting charged, or when my trial ended. I save -every- email that's stating that I am paying/being charged anything, as well as other orders I make online. I never got one from this service, it feels like they're being sneaky about it - to a point. Yes, I check emails/spam folders daily so it's not something I think I'd look over or miss for two months straight if it were going to my email acct.

I called and requested cancellation of a service that I didn't order. It shows on my credit card account as: MNI*CREDITRPT MNTR SVC [protected] CA
I called that phone number and got a representative who has supposedly cancelled my account with no further charges. I'd like to find out how we can get their TV commercials cancelled too.

I canceled my account and my husbands the day after purchasing the free trial...its been almost 2 weeks and suddenly there is a $15 charge on my account from them. I called and they keep saying there was activity on his account after being canceled, so they had to charge, I keep telling them it wasnt from us because I couldnt even GET his report and never went back to the site to try. They refuse to let me cancel. When I told them about all the complaints I was told "Well, McDonalds had complaints...Wal*Mart has complaints" to which I reply "So McDonalds ###s up, and that makes it okay to take our money?!" wtf is that?!?! and if McDonalds jumps off a bridge, maybe they will too.

Talked to them AGAIN! THIS time, they couldnt even find my account, and instead of listening to me and responding the woman starts to read a pre-written response "well ma'am, in theses hard economic times credit fraud is at its peak, here are the many ways it can happen blah blah blah, so for 9.95 a month..." I cut her off, I dont want to give you more money, I want what you already took!
My bank is taking care of it, but I would LOVE to be involved in any suit against the company whose only response to fraud is to tell me that other companies do it to.

Same stuff. None of the Complaints sound as though those filing them are either crazy or stupid. I know I'm not. I accessed a "free" credit score set from MNI via the Internet ad, and found that I was enrolled in their "monitoring system", which is a joke anyway. I cancelled this service via both internet, which did not appear to "take", so I called to speak to a customer service rep, who reassured me that it would be cancelled and I would not be charged.
My credit card has been charged $12.95 monthly from November through the present, and I had called to cancel in October, when I received the credit scores. That is 12.95x5 thusfar, =64.75.
I called my credit card company and filed a dispute, as the rep from MNI gave me the same rap again today: you are cancelled as of today; here is your confirmation number...
but I cannot remove the charges, even the present one.
Isn't it ironic that MNI purports to save consumers from fraud and misinformational credit reporting? Another company with no shame!

My bank account has been charged every month for 4 months now for 14.95. We called three months ago to have the account canceled but instead they just renewed it! They have over withdrawn my bank account twice now and they won't refund any of the money. When we called to try to get our money back they hung up on us.

Just a few days ago, I saw 3 pending charges for $1 each from MHI CreditReport.com. I let it go 1 day after reading my bank's descrioptions of pending charges and that these pending charges might not even go thru. The next day the 3 pending charges were for $14.95 each all on the same day. I called BOFA and told them I was seeing suspisious activity in the pending category. The BOFA lady went thru this whole long speil about how people sign up for the services and forget to cancel. I told her I did not sign up and in fact had never ordered any credit report online. After she hung up on me I called back and got another lady that must have been related to her, because I go the same speech from her. Finally I was transfered to the fraud department were they adjusted out the charges and sent me a new card, but not before approving the charges. Seems odd that they would even pay them when it was obviously not a legit charge and that there were 3 in a row on the same day. Oh well, it is in their hands now.
Eat it NMI. I hope you and all of your worthless know-it-all telemarketer kids burn in hell.

I was charged $12.95 for 12 months without even noticing it in my account until today. I called and spoke with the manager and he was rude and sarcastic. He told me that it was in fine print that i signed up to receive the services, even though i never received anything from them. Not only that, they said they emailed me the information, but i haven't had the email address for almost a year. Stay away from creditreport.com, you will get scammed. If you need to get your credit report, go through the bureau.

I was checking my account today and found out that this company had tagged onto my online payment. I have no phone number to disput this claim, which I did not order. Now, I have to pay extra to cancel my card and have a stop on this fake company from pulling anymore money from my account. It is time consuming to go through this process and definitely a need to have Excedrin at hand for the headache they have caused. Beware to all people! THIS COMPANY, if it really is one should be sued and shut down!

Michael, thanks so much for posting that telephone number [protected] )! I was able to get the charges stopped but when I asked for a refund of the previous charges, the rep who handled it insisted that I ordered the service and therefore the previous charges would not be refunded. I told her I had not ordered the monitoring service, and even if I had, there WERE changes to my credit report since that time and I received NO notification from them, so the service is worthless! The rep again said she wouldn't/couldn't refund the past charges. She claimed I was sent emails verifying my membership and I had 10 days to cancel and since I did not, I was stuck with the previous charges. I told her I hadn't received a single email and she kept insisting that they were sent. She even asked, "Do you want me to read the email to you?" I told her no, I wanted to speak to a supervisor. She asked me why I wanted to speak to a supervisor! Gimme a break. I told her because I wanted the previous charges reversed. She claimed a supervisor could not reverse the charges and transferred me over to a "Priority Line". The lady from the Priority Line actually was nice and not a liar like the first rep and admitted that they had NOT sent me any emails and she issued a refund without any hassle that she said would be credited to my account in 3 to 5 business days. So if you have trouble getting the past charges reversed, ask for the Priority Line.

Thief ! That is the only thing I can say about this crazy unfair THIEF service who trap people! People who work there are very very dangrerous and their job is trapping people...tha is how they make money... AVOID THEM!
IF by any chance any of these people know about your credit card number (even if that person is your freind or relative) immidately and as soon as possible JUST change your card number... there is no other way to get rid of them and they will charge you for ever...that is their job!

I live in UK and have just been alerted by the fraud department of my bank, Santander, that a flag has come up with some unusual activity on my current account.
MNI have been deducting from my current account for six months and I don't know how I missed it as I check my account online regularly. It makes me feel very silly. There are no DD's or Standing orders to check and I cannot find how to cancel. Certainly I never signed up for anything and am wondering if the information was used when I did make a purchase from the USA in January. The site is a reputable one which is why I used it, so it seems unlikely.
The fraud department of Santander are dealing with it and will give me a refund so I do not have to do anything myself. Now that is good service!
I hope you do find enough support to file a multiple lawsuit and wish you success.

I went on to a government grant web site for help with schooling and when I signed up with them they told me I would need info about my credit. They automatically sent me to the MNI website . the weird thing is I gave my card info to the grant company and somehow MNI had it to not only that when I was in their site I read no terms or policies there was just a spot that said get your free credit report here so I clicked on it. There was a little screen that asked me for my name and email address. I put that in and then a screen popped up with questions I filled in the questions and issued them. My credit report popped up and I printed it out. thinking that was it I was done. First I noticed a one dollar charge from them I fond that to be wierd then I noticed a 14.95 charge so I called them they said the dollar was to verify that it was a real credit card which is rediculous then the 14.95was so they could monitor my credit this was never agreed by me and I have my doubts on how legitimate any company on the internet is. I have learned my lesson I will never do anything with any company on the internet it is to unsafe. I hope the companies that do this to people lose more than their business, but the way the world is you wonder if they will ever pay. So when they say free never beleive them. As far as MNI Credit report do not use them they are a scam.

Yes, I check emails/spam folders daily so it's not something I think I'd look over or miss for two months straight if it were going to my email acct.
just cance your credit card with your bank... make sure your actual charges are clear or already posted. speak with your bank and demand a new card!
new card = close out unwanted invader such as MNI credit. speak with your bank and obtain a new card with for no charge
The same thing happened to me... I just called them. Thanks for the numbers. I might be interested in a lawsuit.
i have the same problem i cant fine the way to cancel and they charging me monthly of 12.95 and i have call them to cancel... be careful
I was ripped for 15.95 and they keep saying they didnt charge me but 14.95 when I didnt ok the charges to begin with. They are ripping people off during these hard times and our government let them do this. If everyone wants to sue them im all in. woodwir@yahoo.com please feel free to have a lawyer contact me.
tried there free trial cancled subscription afetr 1st day, but yet mni has charged me for the last 6 months twice monthly.this is the biggest scam on the internet DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDULANT ###
i was ripped off by them for 6 months.they charged my card twice a month.if a lawsuit happens (which it should) count me in...1soonerfan@cox.net
Free Credit Report.com my achin' butt!
MNI was charging my account $12.95 for 12 months which totaled over $155, i noticed the charges but i wasn't sure what it was so i never pursued. I called and requested to speak with the manager who said his name was Fernando, he was very rude and sarcastic. He refused to give me my money back, he told me that i signed up to receive credit monitoring when i signed up to get a free credit report from freecreditreport.com, stay away from that website, they are frauding people. It is a scam, you will get charged. Beware of that website.
same thing happaned to me, and I actually called and cancled right after I checked my report! they still charged me the next month. Thanks for the phone numbers I called and they said they would cancle it, we'll see
I was checking my account today and found out that this company had tagged onto my online payment.
I am also cheated by this company!
How can I use law to fight against this company?
So if you have trouble getting the past charges reversed, ask for the Priority Line.
i don't know this and i didn't apply for this why they charge me on my card
Does anyone know how can we complain about this service? to who? I have been charged $189 so far... They are stealing money... How can we stop this company or basically these thief people? Does anyone know?
WE are having the same problems, but have never received a copy of a credit report. Thank you for the number; we are looking into it right now and the fees are now $14.95 per month automatically coming out of your account.

Hello, this is a rip off company . I went into their web site last week to get free credit report and today(July 29, 2009) check my credit card on line and found a charge of $14.95 from this company.I immediately dispute the charge and call MNI credit report at [protected] to cancel " MY SUBSCRIPTION" as they call it. What a rip off.
i cannot believe these people are getting away with this! and if this keeps happening why didn't freecreditreport.com not warn customers that they had been hacked?!?! what i want to know is if they got my bank info what else did they get? my social?!
Has anyone been successful with prosecuting these scam artists? I just got off the phone with them and they would not reimburse me for the unauthorized charges to my account. I would love to hear the direction in which some of you had taken to get this issue resolved. The nerve these people have!
Similar type of experience happend to me. This type of fraudulus company should not be there in USA. We all should fight against it.
Fradulus company
