I am going to tell you two stories of two different vehicles, both from the same place.
July of 2020 my husband and I purchased a 2008 Silverado. Within the first few months, the truck was in the garage multiple times for repairs. These repairs were covered under the "warranty" provided by Montage Motors. The entire truck was coated with undercoating at the time of purchase, but we didn't know any better.
June of 2022 we needed a bigger truck for hauling a camper. So we went back to Montage Motors to buy a 2011 Silverado 2500, all cash. This truck too came with undercoating sprayed on the bottom and a "warranty".
July of 2022 the 2008 Silverado needed to have some repairs done to it, so we took it into a local garage who told us they cannot fix the truck and wouldn't even work on it because the frame was completely rotted through. So, in less than two years of ownership the frame was shot (pictures attached). We had to pay hundreds of dollars in parts alone to replace the parts of the rotted frame.
Getting back to the 2011 Silverado. It too has been in the shop 2x within the first 2 months of ownership. It needed to go in for a 3rd time because it was leaking coolant. We had the appointment scheduled for a Friday. A few days before the appointment my husband wrote a review on google giving them a 1 star rating because of all the troubles we had with the 2008 and were now having with the 2011. His reviewed prompted the owner of the company to call me and try to intimidate me into taking down the review, telling me that the review makes him not want to work on the vehicle. I reminded him that the truck was still under warranty... Needless to say, we didn't bring the truck in that Friday being under the assumption they weren't going to fix it...
We then brought it to Silvester Chevrolet to check it over. We found out it needs a new radiator, which was not fixed at the time, but some other things were. That visit cost us over $300.
Now the truck is smoking from the passenger side rear, same side that was previously fixed in Montage Motors garage.
We took it to another garage today and it needs new axel seals and is leaking the fluid in the back. The labor for this part will be $400, plus parts. The radiator will be another $450 for labor and parts...
Desired outcome: reimbursement of garage fees.
