Moxie Solar owes my company roughly $16,000.00 in unpaid invoices
Moxie Solar owes my company roughly $16,000.00 in unpaid invoices. For months they spun us in circles with lie after lie. After dozens of attempts to collect we issued a final demand letter. The president of the company *** replied with the statement Thanks for reaching out. Well dive into this and follow up. That was in January 2022 and still nothing. While doing contract work for them I saw a common theme of unhappy customers. Its a shame because they definitely had some good people on their team including our main point of contact Rich. They also had very high volume in terms of sales. With better organizational structure and a little integrity, they could have been a great addition to the industry. Instead they are tarnishing it.
Only giving 4 stars because our project has been ongoing since august
Only giving 4 stars because our project has been ongoing since august . Solar panels went up quickly, sales associate *** was amazing, and installers super professional. We purchased a battery cash at the same time we purchased panels and can not get an update on when our battery will arrive. We have reached out to Moxie customer service, sent numerous emails, and the only one who will respond is our sales associate. Since purchasing the battery we have not received, we have had numerous storms losing power forcing us to buy a generator we would not need if we had our battery. Another expense we were trying to save ourselves from getting the battery. Find it very disheartening a company who strives on customer service can not respond with an update.
If I could rate them negative stars I would. Stay clear of this company. I have had a signed contract since May , solar panel finally done in August and here I sit almost March 2022 with no working solar power. They dont answer the phone or return emails of messages. Basically I have a loan for $25,000 of solar panels that dont work and have never worked.
Have been waiting months for the electrician to hook up my panels. Cannot get anyone to contact me about this. Many other people have complained about the same situation.
This company has been terrible to work with. We started this process in October and here we sit at the end of February 2022 with a ton of emails giving us excuses and delays. At this point, all we can do is pay off the solar to avoid a lien on the house. We are looking into legal action and are our options to finish the installation.
Not going to recommend this business to anybody and in fact would warn them away.Signed my contract on 8/12/221. Panels installed mid-September. Complete communication breakdown from that point on. I made weekly calls and asked for project updates. Most responses were I'll check w/ the project manager and get back to you. Rare occasion for them to communicate with me. Many times my calls would go to an vmail box that was too full to accept mine. I somehow found out that A1 out of Monroe was a subcontractor. I called and explained the situation. They came in about a week and made the connections. Now I'm waiting on final procedures from *** that is aware of this timeline.I am not sure what happened to this project but I see from below others had similar experience.Covid? No electricians? All reasonable excuses but not something that should keep Moxie service from communicating with me.From 8/12 to 3/1/22 and still waiting for an operations system.
Moxie has an amazing staff working for them
Moxie has an amazing staff working for them. I had the pleasure of working with Ryan *** and his team Tim K. and the Cloud Splitter crew. It was such a great experience working with all of them. The team had been very professional, hardworking, positive, super friendly, and went out of their way to ensure the job was done correctly and quickly. Ryan had worked tearlessly for me to get everything they needed to get the job done as well. Unfortunately, the Township of Janesville, WI did not do their job and caused unnecessary delays in the process. However, Ryan did not give up and kept pushing the Township of Janesville, WI to get what was needed to complete the process. A HUGE thank you goes to Ryan for all his hard work and due diligence as well as his team! You all deserve a very large raise!
Moixe is a terrible company to do business with. While initially they seemed like a good company to sign with for my solar installation. 14 months after I signed with them, still no solar. They were repeatedly rejected by the local power company on the interconnect permit. They had to resubmit SEVEN times. Then they had to resubmit for the county build permit. Then the real lies started. In Sep 2021, I was told all permits were ready and they just needed to install. They said they would schedule the install by the end of Oct 2021. Each week I checked. Then there was another permit needed, I was told. Then a part was not available. When asked about the part, they would not tell me what part, only that it was back ordered *** months. I actually talked to a person the day before Thanksgiving. They said they would get back to me with detail. I was actually told that they would understand if I wanted to cancel which I was considering. A month later with no contact from Moixe, I cancelled. Do not trust their lies about the work. But if you choose them, make them show proof of the work and steps being completed. Question when a step is not being done. They literally cost me a year delay in getting solar installed.Terrible company from my experience!
This company , Moxie solar , took 10,000K from me and disappeared. No one answers .
Avoid at all costs! Moxie Solar isn't paying subcontractors which is forces them to put liens on customers homes. We are pursuing legal action.
Steer clear of this company! Initial meetings with sales were great. They were courteous, professional, and promised the world. Fast forward 9 months since signing the contract (thats right, 9 months!) and my system is still not up and running! Worst of all there is terrible communication from the company and absolutely no accountability. Ive tried emails and calls and get BS email responses several days later trying to pin the problem on subcontractors and inspectors. Consider yourself warned - this company will disappoint you!
This Iowa firm (who is trying to enter the FL Market/national ) can't seem to get it right
This Iowa firm (who is trying to enter the FL Market/national ) can't seem to get it right. ...be careful on the Q&A (absence/missing) of their so called third party installers 3D, LLC. They installed the wrong panels based on the engineering paperwork (bait and switch tactic)/ and did not bother to mention anything ( it was done intentional); now Moxie is playing ignorant. Sale guy (FL) and the PM (Moxie) cant seem to get together. This is this forth go around on their communications goat rope (3 months since install). Sorry Moxie Owner your staff is dragging you down ... your people need client engagement schooling. Guess its time for me to take wheel. I am done splashing around the shallow end with the Amateur's; and get representation on basis of a breach of contract. The old adage hold true either fix it now (cuz it was your mistake) or pay a lot more my expenses later. Don't understand their angle ?
Moxie did not make promised installation time. Did not contact energy company to do test when system was ready. I got the system up a month earlier than if I hadn't initiated numerous steps. Now when I need service I cannot even get a phone call returned. I pleaded with Moxie to take down the system and return my money and they could even keep $1000. Nooooo! Impossible company to work with. Installers showed up without notice, had to return from a trip. Had the wrong panels, ran out of the correct size so install had to be changed. Wrong wiring. Had to return for the third day. Electricians showed up a couple of days later without notice. Was told the neighbors trees would not interfere with sun. WRONG! Was told snow would not be a problem. WRONG!
Solar is the way of the future. But Moxie is misleading consumers as well as not completing the job. When contacting Moxie you will always receive a voice recording that we are away from our desk or talking with clients? This recording is with all of the employees and they do not return the calls. I have complained with the Attorney General's Office as well as the state of Iowa. Their recommendation is to file in small claims court in the jurisdiction where work was done. Moxie does not follow the advertisement of 5 star Guarantee or System monitoring and more. Moxie is a very poor company to return any calls to complete the job as well as I believe for future repairs.
ABSOLUTELY buyer's remorse. The team from the company did their best but was provided incorrect information from Moxie and the utility line locator service marked lines incorrectly, plus the local rental company didn't have the correct equipment. Main power line cut to house which required the power company to come and fix which rutted and ruined a section of our driveway (still not fixed), Bobcat got stuck in our yard which caused numerous ruts and damage (still not fixed), trench was not filled in and finished, wires still dangling because the shut offs (three of them: one at panel, one at power junction from road, and one by house foundation) still not hooked up. AND this was all in October, now it's December BUT still not hooked up. Emails and phone calls not returned. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE they are lucky we don't live closer or I would be visiting them every day and picketing their business with signs about the above experience.
Its clear Moxie is going under at the moment. Need service, does not answer their phones anymore, not responding. Not supporting their install and equipment is breaking down and I'm on the hook now for the SRECs I'm not producing. They are clearly getting ready to run with the money. Avoid at all costs.
Before hiring Moxie, seller Steven Hill promised we would have our solar panels up and running in 3 months
Before hiring Moxie, seller Steven Hill promised we would have our solar panels up and running in 3 months. It's been almost 6 months and we aren't even close to be able to use our panels. Just today I got 2 emails from the SMART program and my electrical company pointing to errors in my application. The one from National Grid says that my process will be terminated in 10 days if Moxie doesn't provide the information they asked for. These weren't the only faults: they showed up for an inspection with the city inspector WITHOUT the permit and have submitted incorrect documents several times on my behalf. I found online that many other people fell for Moxie's tale and some have been waiting longer then me. I've been trying to contact them, but nobody answers or returns my calls or emails. We are desperate and don't know what to do, since we owe $20,000 on a service we have no clue if we'll ever be able to use.

I hired Moxie to install a system on my house
I hired Moxie to install a system on my house. The total cost was over $30,000. Moxie first put the panels from another location on my house. They had them all on the house and then informed me they had to go to the other location because they were " registered" to that location. I refused to let them do this. They offered to pay 2 months of my electric bills and give me a cash sum for waiting for my panels. They thought they would be in in week or two. They also included money for some tree work, which i ended up borrowing to get this paid. They also were going to me a referral bonus from the Company and one from the salesman. None of this money has ever showed up and they will not answer any of my phone calls. I have two panels not working, but it will not do any good to call them. They are not going to answer the phone. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general in Iowa. I am now going to file in the small claims court. I even have e-mails from Moxie to support all of these claims. I will never send anybody to Moxie for anything. I have referred some of my friends to another solar company. *** VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MOXIE. 0 stars for Moxie.

I began discussions with Moxie Solar in December and was assured of no further electric bills
I began discussions with Moxie Solar in December and was told I would not have additional electric bills. They said it would take 28 panels to power our home. They offered a certain cost and mentioned no payment for 60 days post-installation. Work started in April with 24 panels installed on the shed. In June, they reinforced the shed trusses. The electrician's work in June failed inspection, leading to re-excavation for a missed ground wire, damaging my drainage. After passing inspection, the system was operational by September 13. Despite the incomplete job, the finance company demanded payments starting June 16. I secured a reimbursement from Moxie for payments made before activation. I interacted with seven Moxie representatives. They promised a monitoring system link via email within two weeks of activation, but by December 18, I had received nothing. Despite being online for three months, I still received electric bills. After contacting a representative in early December, I've had no follow-up. They refunded me for the four uninstalled panels and covered the drainage repair costs. However, their service and organization were lacking.
I signed a contract with Moxie Solar in October
I signed a contract with Moxie Solar in October . Ground mounted system, 34 SunPower panels, microinverters and 2 batteries. ComEd approved the design in November. By December, I was concerned when Moxie wouldn't give me an installation schedule. Moxie Solar said they were waiting for equipment delivery. This delay tactic continued for the next 4 months. In March, SunPower informed me they shipped my equipment to Moxie on Nov 24. On 3/16/22, I informed Moxie that this was my last attempt to get an install date. Moxie said they located my equipment on the East Coast, 814 miles from me in *** (I have no way to validate). They were shipping the equipment to their local ops site in ***, , not to my house. They still wouldn't give me an install date. After dozens of emails/voicemails over 5 months, Moxie Solar installation crew showed up on 3/24/22 (2:30pm) to install the ground mount support. It took over a week to install. Initially they only installed 14 solar panels (out of 34). After filing a complaint with the *** Moxie showed up the next day with the remaining 20 panels. Two were broken during installation on 4/1/22. On Monday, 4/4/22, Moxie replaced the two broken panels; however, they broke another panel. Currently (4/6/22), I have 34 panels installed and one is broken (no replacement date provided) and I no scheduled installation activities for the future. In March I contacted SunPower to complain and they open case # X. This case was closed to Normal via input from Moxie Solar, however, I was never consulted. After learning the case was closed, I had SunPower open a new case #. Currently, I have no resolution on my specific complaint.I have completely lost trust in this company. I wonder if they will stay in business much longer? See https://www.press-citizen.com/story/news/2022/03/16/north-liberty-based-moxie-solar-faces-dozens-consumer-complaints Buyer Beware!
I must start off by saying that the sells people are initially very nice
I must start off by saying that the sells people are initially very nice. I was informed that the entire process should take no more than 3 months. I signed in April , it is currently Oct 2021, and I still do not have solar power. I actually have not heard from Moxie Solar, although I have left multiple messages with the sells people, design agent, and customer service as well. Moxie had calculated, and I was informed that sixteen (16) panels were needed in order to achieve my desired results. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that the Moxie engineers had made a mistake in their calculations, and I could only get fifteen (15) panels on my roof. I was upset, however, after I was informed that my cost savings would still be approximately 90-95%, I agreed to the one (1) panel difference. Shortly there after, I was again informed the Moxie engineers had miscalculated, and they would not be able to supply more than eleven (11) panels of energy on my roof. I happen to used to be a Structural Engineer. I went to the county office to obtain the original plans for my house; In anticipation of solar, I video taped the roof of my house being totally replaced (Apr 2021); since the county did not have copies of the roof plans, I climbed on the roof and drew every facet of my roof to scale; and since I am currently in the middle of a total re-model of my home, I took pictures of the ceiling joist, as well as, the finished roof. I also knew that Moxie Solar was utilizing computer imagery. On more than one occasion, Moxie Solar would forward and discuss pictures of computer images they were using to view my roof. All of this information I shared with Moxie Solar. I was assured it was more than enough information to complete their calculations and this job. With all this information, I can not begin to understand how Moxie Solar's engineer's calculations could be so incorrect. To begin with an estimate of sixteen (16) panels, and miscalculate by one (1) panel, is hard enough to conceive with so much information available to you. However, to miscalculate by five (5) panels, for an organization that has been doing this for years, is inconceivable, and unacceptable. I must ask Moxie Solar, "Do you check your designs before informing your clients? Or do you estimate a panel quantity that gives the desired outcome, with full knowledge that this quantity is incorrect?" All while trusting the client might agree to the lower exact quantity, which you knew to be true from the beginning.

There are really no words to explain the absolute frustration we have experienced with Moxie Solar over the past 8 months and we still do not
There are really no words to explain the absolute frustration we have experienced with Moxie Solar over the past 8 months and we still do not have a working system. Their lack of communication and lack of follow through are simply appalling and unprofessional. If I were to do this over, I would go with a local solar company in my immediate area.We purchased a solar system from Moxie Solar on April 13. The plans from the company were submitted to our local power cooperative and on May 12 we were informed by email from ***, Moxie Solar Project Manager that the power coop had approved our interconnection application. There was no further follow up communication and on June 30, I sent an email to *** requesting an update on our project timeline. His response was Im awaiting a response from our operations officer and will get back to you. On July 7 he replied maybe the first or second week of August I have 8 jobs ahead of you.On Aug 5, I again sent *** another email requesting an installation update. Later that week I received a call from a Moxie scheduler, Hunter, and was offered install on August 9. I was off work that day and no one showed up. I called and informed Hunter that there had been a no-show. He checked with their subcontractor, *** and rescheduled an install date of Aug 16, 2021.On August 16th the install was completed, but they were missing a couple fuses and some stickers to go on the new boxes that had been mounted. We were told that they would be mailed and when available, the subcontractor would return and place these. By about 10 days later, (? Aug 25 or 26) both had arrived. A revisit was scheduled on I believe about Aug 31. Again, the subcontractor no showed. I again called Moxie, Hunter and he rescheduled them to return and complete the work. The following week, approx. Sept 9, the electrical inspector came, without any notice. Fortunately, my wife was home so he could get in the house or that would have been cancelled. On 9/16 we received an email from *** that we had passed the inspection and we were billed for the 3rd and final payment. We currently are holding the final payment as it is still not operational.A short time after this we were contacted by the subcontractor, ***, stating that the wiring had, in fact, failed the electrical inspection. On September 20, the subcontractor returned to correct wiring that had been installed wrong on the connection boxes. Following that the electrical inspector returned and apparently passed inspection. The next step was a witness test where the subcontractor and Co-op Power were to meet at our property to activate the system. After another month delay, that was finally scheduled for 10/22.The witness test failed due to the fact that the subcontractor did not complete the installation according to the agreed upon engineering schematic drawings in the plan submitted by Moxie Solar to Co-op Power. In addition, the existing meter box was supposed to have replaced with a new box and there had been an unnecessary hole drilled through the wall into our basement. The meeting ended with the Co-op Power electrician putting a metal padlock on the system on switch.Subsequently after approximately 4 weeks and having reached out multiple times by email/voice mail to the project manager, (who subsequently left the company), the operations manager and a Senior Vice President the repeat witness test was done on approximately Nov 19. Unfortunately it again failed and in talking to our power coop representative it only requires a couple small steps to complete. The person who was identified to me by Moxie as the new program manager on Nov 9th, has never responded to at least 4-5 voice mails over the past month. On December 7, I again called the project manager( no response), the operations manager, and a Senior Vice President as well as 2 individuals from the subcontractors office. All responded with the same cliche, well get back to you.In summary, we are committed to solar energy, but now 8 months have elapsed from purchase and 4 months from the installation date. Solar energy is an investment and we are seeing our return eroded by these delays. We seem unable to be heard by this company. I am wondering if there are others like us in similar situations. We simply wish to have Moxie Solar complete this project as promised.

On July 1, we entered into a contract with Moxie Solar to provide and install Solar Panels onto a detached garage on our property
On July 1, we entered into a contract with Moxie Solar to provide and install Solar Panels onto a detached garage on our property. The final price we agreed on was $28,000. The contact called for three installments. One third up front which was $9,333.33 was received by Moxie on7/7/21 via check. The second installment of $9,333.33 was received by Moxie on 9/16. This was after Moxie had to redo the connection application with Alliant twice due to Moxies delay in the process. Our sales guy said this should be a quick project since this was a cash project. This has not been quick. On 9/11 our project manager said we passed inspection and were on the construction que. Our utility lines were marked on 9/14. On 9/24 we were told the issue was our city inspector was particular and required an electrician on site for the entire build and this would take a few weeks to coordinate. On 10/5 I called the city inspector and was told this was a *** requirement to have a licensed electrician on site. He also said Moxie knew this as they had to halt a project in May because of this. Moxie did not make us aware of this prior to the project but they knew this would be needed. Throughout October to December we asked for updates. We even offered to find our own electrician. Then on 1/21/22 we were contacted by a local electrician who informed us they received our info from Moxie to install solar panels. He informed us he would not do anymore work for Moxie because he did not get paid for other work. We contacted Moxie to seek an explanation. We asked for a phone call from Moxie. We were told we can no longer contact our program manager it was now an email from the client service team. This was also the first time they said anything about supply chain issues. However local companies have been installing solar around us with much less lead time.

I purchased a high-capacity kW solar system complemented by two 20 kW Enphase batteries. The payment for the full price of the contract was split into four installments. The total cost, including the batteries, amounted to $52,284.47, with the contract being dated November 29. Installation of the solar panels occurred on February 15, 2022. During the installation, the ceiling drywall was damaged, but the installers did not report the incident. However, Moxie did cover the cost of the repairs. The final payment to settle the full price of the contract was made on April 12, 2022. We are currently awaiting the installation of the batteries. Despite my repeated emails and calls to Moxie since April, they have not provided any information regarding the possession of the batteries or an estimated time for when they will be available. At this stage, we are concerned about the possibility of not receiving the batteries, even though they have received our full payment. Our preference is to have the contract honored without having to seek a refund for the batteries or the need to find an alternative installer.
Moxie Solar agreement signed on June 4, 2022, for a loan amount that was specified in the contract. Moxie billed for a completed job. However, Moxie hasn't even started our job, and we have yet to see plans for the installation. Sunlight expects payments to start on December 2, 2022. We have contacted Moxie and Sunlight multiple times with no resolution. Moxie doesn't return our calls, and no one answers the phone. Sunlight opened a case on October 16, 2022, to try to get answers from Moxie. I have contacted Sunlight on the following dates: October 14, 2022, October 21, 2022, November 1, 2022, November 21, 2022, and November 29, 2022. They have not received any answers from Moxie at this time. This is fraud, and Moxie should never have been paid as no work has been done. We have submitted a fraud claim through our local police. The solar loan has been reported to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, which has affected our credit score, even though we have frozen all accounts. We need some help and don't know where to turn. Please contact us for further communication.
Moxie Solar installed our system with a lifetime warranty. Rich, the contact number I have from the installation process, is currently unreachable as his phone is turned off. Additionally, their advertised contact line gives a busy signal every time I try to call. I've emailed my contact at Moxie Solar as well as their general support emails, but I have not received any response. We need Moxie Solar to come out and service our system, but we cannot get the company to respond or send someone to service the system. I urgently require a proper contact number and need someone to reach out to me as soon as possible! This request is entirely reasonable.
I siggned a solar contract with Moxie solar back to May 8 and paied $20000.00 as NITIAL PAYMENT. After more one and half year, the project is still not able to start. Furthere more, I can not find any one from Moxiesolar to response the statues of the project since 11 October 2022.
Signed contract for solar with a salesman on July 28th, who has since left the company
Signed contract for solar with a salesman on July 28th. Interconnection approval came on September 27th. Installation began in early October . After multiple emails to determine when our system would be released by the inspector, I contacted the company on December 3rd, and they said there was no release request from Moxie. We were given permission to operate on 12/16, and the system ran at 25% capacity for the first month. I contacted Moxie again on January 13th, 2022, when the mySunPower app reported that my system was not producing electricity; I was told the next day that my site needed to be commissioned to monitor electricity usage/production. On January 18th, 2022, a Moxie representative came to commission our system and found that most of our panels were not working; he didn't have the part needed to repair/connect the non-functioning solar panels. I was told they would need to reschedule. I contacted Moxie on Jan 23rd and Feb 1st trying to get a time for the reschedule. They scheduled for Feb 3rd, then cancelled when I didn't reply in time. Moxie sent an excellent contractor to work on our system. He was very helpful with answering questions and concerns promptly. He re-set-up our system, but it had to remain shut off until approved by the inspector. I have made multiple calls and emails to Moxie representatives to try and find out when our system will be checked and approved. No response from Moxie. Found out on April 25th that the helpful contractor is also leaving the company. He has said he is willing to testify on my behalf if I decide to obtain a lawyer. Left a message with the last Moxie representative working my case on April 26th. Filed a complaint on ComplaintsBoard.com on April 26th, 2022.

My wife and I put down a $25k deposit in 2020 for a large solar array. Moxie guaranteed it would be completed by fall of 2020. They also told us we could cancel any time for a full refund up to the time of delivery/starting the job. Fast forward to January, still no solar panels, construction permits where still not going through, and there was no end in sight. We where not happy with the lack of communication, and poor organization skills of the company. We canceled, and received in writing that we would receive a full refund of our $25k deposit- written to us in January/February. It took months to get ahold of a live person, and still havent heard what is going on with our refund. Fast forward to March 2022, a new customer care person is hired, and says they would pay is in installments on November 2022. It is now November, and we havent received any refund payments. The customer care representative will not return my emails or phone calls (I have left multiple voicemails and emails). This is a horrible company! Run away as fast as you can! Do NOT do business with MOXIE! They will steal your money and leave you with nothing but regret and no responses. My wife and I have tried for almost two years to keep this out of the courts, but I feel I have no other alternative left with Moxie.Do NOT make my mistake!
Moxie installed a solar system for us. The installation was finished in July, and we have settled the payment in full. On October 24, 2022, we were notified via a certified letter that AM LLC had placed a lien on our property because Moxie Solar had failed to compensate them for their subcontracted work. The total amount owed was not specified in the letter. I have attempted to contact Moxie several times but continue to receive evasive responses or no response at all. This situation is extremely frustrating.
We had Moxie install solar panels in October , which were turned on December , and we started paying the loan December . As part of the contract we signed in September , Moxie agreed to pay us a rebate of $2500 once the panels were on the house and we were making payments. I have reached out to the client services team on the phone and by email no fewer than 20 times to get this rebate. In March 2022, *** assured me in a phone call and via email that a check would be sent, and it never was. I have followed up with her with emails every month since then and I have not gotten a response or a check.
Difficulty communicating with Moxie. For over a month I get mostly unanswered E-MAIL and phone calls. The only response is you must contact your project manager who is essentially non responsive.
Moxie was contracted to design and install an off the grid solar system at my ranch that would support a **** sq ft apartment, the barn, a work
Moxie was contracted to design and install an off the grid solar system at my ranch that would support a *** sq ft apartment, the barn, a work shop, well pump, etc. This was to be a living apartment with ac/heating/washer/dryer/fridges and a full workshop. They initiall did a good job getting things installed. That is when things went bad. The system never worked correctly. Everytime I would use my table saw (sawstop that takes a total of 18amps at start, 13 amps sustained) running on a 30 amp breaker, the system would completely shut down. At first everyone blamed the batteries, then they blamed solark. Moxie left me to do a lot of the interaction with those companies even though they were the installers and support. They had terrible support. After 3 months, they finally replaced a controller board in the solark inverter which resulted in things getting worse. They system used to test the generator every week. But after they left, the system would run out of power early and the generator would not run. I alerted Moxie to all of this and after many emails, they finally had another person contact me to look at the system. He designed an entirely new system saying that solark would NOT support my needs. I got a contract signed with Moxie to replace solark with outback and then NEVER heard another word other then "we will get back to you" from Moxie. As of the end of Feb 2022, it has been 7 months without the system working correctly. I can not build an appartment, I can not use the workshop and no one, including the president of the company will return the dozens of emails or phone calls. I see from ComplaintsBoard.com that MANY customers are suffering from the same problems that I am having with Moxie. I have a 25 year support agreement with them and they can't even get the system to work correctly now. I want the system removed, all roof/walls panels replaced/repaired where solar was and all of my money back.

I initially signed a contract to install a 9.2 KW system with sunlight backup on my home at the cost of $41,524.04 on May 24, 2022. Moxie proceeded to install panels onto my house of the wrong size a smaller system of 9.1 KW with no sunlight backup. When I pointed these errors out they initially agreed to update my system to a slightly larger one (9.3KW) and perform the sunlight backup install as agreed. This was August 12. Because my system was and is still not installed, I asked them to postpone any payments on it, as the contract says it won't start until 60 days after installation. I have now had to make 2 payments on the loan despite the system not being installed and not getting any replies from them in over a month. The project manager was supposed to contact me at the end of September but did not. I've reached out twice since then with no reply. I'm attaching copies of all emails and communications up to this point. At this point, I see 2 possible solutions. 1: Get my system installed as promised and compensate for the loan payments that should have never been started while waiting. or 2: Refund all of my money and remove what is half installed from my house and fix any damage caused by installation.
We had Moxie solar place a system with a lifetime warranty. We now need service and can not get the company to respond or send someone to service the system.
On 2/23/2022 my wife and I signed a contract with Moxie Solar to have solar panels installed on our barn. The installation was completed and operational by mid-August 2022. The project was financed and Moxie was paid $69,954.33. On Friday, October 28th, I received a Notice Of Intent to Lien from AM LLC. I contacted AM LLC and they informed me that their legal team has directed them to pursue placing a lien against my property because Moxie has failed to pay AM LLC the amount of $9,656.00. I've reached out to Moxie, and they acknowledged the issue, assuring me that they are working with AM LLC to resolve the problem. However, when I called AM Constructions to verify, AM Constructions informed me that Moxie's claim was false and that they are proceeding with the lien process.
I signed an agreement with Moxie Solar to install a Solar Electricity Generation and Battery Backup system for my home in a confidential location. I paid them $11,257 on 9/02 when I signed the contract followed by another payment of $11,257 on 10/04 when the local cooperative approved my Solar System installation.
Over this time frame, I had several promise dates that just kept getting pushed out. I escalated the situation to MOXIE's Solar CEO since February 2022, and he promised several times to get personally involved to resolve the situation. I have more than 50 email exchanges with different MOXIE Solar executives.
MOXIE Solar informed me on 10/31/2022 that they will be unable to complete my installation and that they are cancelling my project. Since I received the notice of cancellation from MOXIE, I have been requesting information on when they are going to refund my money. I have no answers from them and have no other option but to report this to you. Hopefully you can help me get some answers.

We purchased a 40 panel solar array system from Moxie Solar
We purchased a 40 panel solar array system from Moxie Solar. Contract signed 10/17 for a ground mount system. In an email from the sales person 9/15, she states "The "no maintenance" is our Moxie guarantee which I told you I would extend to 5 years for you. Once it is up and running (the solar system), we just want to monitor it to make sure it's going to function perfectly". The system worked well until May 16, 2022 and then failed to record kWh of production, due to a 3G internet connectivity switch needing upgraded to 4 or 5G. Which means our system is not only not storing our production for winter use, but we are being charged full price for electricity for the last 4 months with no repair help in sight. We invested almost $30,000 in the system and Moxie will not provide the repair we need. I proceeded to contact the service department via phone messages left (and only 1 returned of approximately a dozen calls), and emailed *** in the office from Moxie Solar attempting to get service to return my calls or emails. The one call returned 4 weeks ago, I was promised a tracking number for the repair part which has never been received. We are within the "no maintenance" guarantee period and being ignored by this company. We have been told to be patient. How long!? The company needs to repair the switch, we need, to begin net metering recordings that are sent to ComEd distributor. Moxie Solar needs to reimburse us the money for lost production and bills from May 16, '22- through the repair date, which isn't even set yet due to the company ignoring our pleas for service. I have records of our production from the last 5 years and can provide any data and costs we have incurred. We also have a carbon credits deposit that will be debited due to our contract with ***. When we don't produce like the last 4 months, our deposit will be negatively affected. Please assist. Thank you.

I signed a contract in February to have Moxie install solar panels and Tesla Powerwalls (batteries) on my home. The panels were installed in May. At that time I was told the powerwalls were on backorder with no ETA on delivery. The installation was done by a third party who forgot to build the solar array/app that would allow me to monitor my system through an app. I informed Moxie of this who told me they would send out a service rep to fix the problem. They also said since the panels were installed my loan payments would now be due even though the app was not working and I did not have the batteries. Fast forward to today [protected]), Moxie has been paid in full for the entire project, but I have yet to get the solar array built and I still have no batteries. I have contacted Moxie dozens of times and have gotten the run around. Most recently I was told a service rep would come to my house this past Tuesday at 11:45 to fix the solar array. I took time off work to meet the rep but nobody showed and nobody called. I contacted Moxie via phone and email with no response. If it helps I have an excel document of all conversations with Moxie. I have over 30 documented conversations with various Moxie reps over the past 18+ months including their VP of sales. Despite being paid in full, I still have no solar batteries and I still do not have a functioning solar array/app to monitor or troubleshoot my system. Moxie has done nothing to resolve this complaint other than give false promises
Received an electric bill in August which, being a summer month, should not happen. I looked back into the panels and one whole grid was out since June. They should have known this then. We've continuously reached out about this and both grids have been out at times. This is when you bank your power. They claim new inverters are ordered. We need it fixed and compensation for the past few months until next March. When we normally have no bill and the sunny weather helps. If you need to contact me, I have all the names of those I've contacted. Not a way to run a business; at least be honest and act concerned since you've been paid, it's less than 2 years old. I have all the documentation and will gladly turn it over if contacted.
I began the process with Moxie Solar around July 11, 2022, to install solar panels on my house. After an e-mail stating I would receive 2-3 days advance notice of installation, I was at the residence when the installer showed up without notice (Not my complaint). Since this is not my primary residence, I was not around for the two-day installation but was contacted by *** stating the installation was complete. On October 8, 2022, my family and I went to the residence to discover the installation was not completed - wires were dangling from the side of the home (I will attach a photo). Since October 8th, I have tried to contact Moxie Solar to have the installation completed. I have a loan to pay for the solar panels, which I expect to start paying soon. I have contacted the loan company and advised them of the issue and they said they would contact me soon. Numerous e-mails to Moxie Solar to figure out potential solutions have gone unanswered. I have e-mails to support my statements. I simply would like the panels to finish being installed and the loan to not kick in until Moxie Solar has upheld there end of the contract.
I originally contracted with Moxie Solar for solar panel installation in September . The first error was an incorrect installation of panels I was shorted 4, the second was destruction of property as my outside light post and several other items were broken by employees during the process. It took weeks for Moxie to return and reinstall the correct number of panels (17). Once installed, the panels became non-operational due to incorrect wiring and then a failed microinverter. My system was non operational from October when power was officially flipped over to solar, until December - when the issue was finally repaired by Moxie. The company has a production guarantee, and as such, Im owed $200+ in downtime reimbursement. From October through December I was paying for a system that was non-operational on top of normal electric bills. Ive reached out to the company numerous times and have engaged the financial institution owning my solar loan in hopes of receiving the $200+ owed to me. Thus far, *** has been unsuccessful in helping me receive the reimbursement. I was contacted once by Moxie escalations in January 2022, stating they would process my downtime check, however Ive yet to receive the check or a follow up response from Moxies escalations department. *** tried calling an infinity amount of times and am never able to reach the correct department. This has been a terrible experience with a company that appears to have shady business practices.

I signed (and paid a 30% portion of) a contract with Moxie for solar installation in early June and was told my system install would begin in *** days. I even refinanced my home to come up with the $17K for the cost of this system. After almost 4 1/2 months and virtually no communication regarding what was taking so long for the install to begin, I asked to cancel my contract. On 10/11 I was told (via email) that my cancelation had just been processed and there would be no cancelation fee, BUT I was given no details as to how my money would be returned and when/by what means (check, etc). In fact, I asked several times via email for this information so that I could be on the lookout for it, and I was told the individual I was communicating with simply didn't know, but would inquire with "accounts payable". After several attempts to reach someone,... anyone, at this company (every previous email and phone number I had been provided for "client services managers" and "project managers" by this point had been disconnected) I eventually reached the voicemail box of someone named *** in "invoicing and payments". I received a phone call from her 1-2 days later stating that my "check" had been dropped in the mail on October 11th (a postal holiday). Since by this point it had been about 10 days and I hadn't received it, and since I had my doubts that it was actually sent due to the alleged date of Columbus Day, I began trying to reach *** to let her know it was either lost in the mail or perhaps never actually sent. Now, another week later, I have left several messages with both *** and *** (the woman who stated she processed my cancelation on 10/11) and received no communication regarding this missing "check" which I now believe *** never have existed, and instead exists only in a spreadsheet somewhere with no actual money having been returned.I would like my $5,234.15 back as I received no product or service from this company.

On August I signed a contract with Moxie Solar to have a solar system and backup battery installed
On August I signed a contract with Moxie Solar to have a solar system and backup battery installed. In Nov of 2021 they completed partial installation; they could not install the solar battery. This was never relayed to me before or during contracting. My system cost over $76,000. They relayed there was a 3 month delay on batteries. At the three month *** I reached out, but could not reach anyone. It took 2 more months to reach anyone from Moxie or SunPower for assistance. I was then told they had no idea when Id get a battery. After another 4 months I finally got a battery installed but they failed to install an emergency switch. That took another 2 months. It then took 1 more month to get the system back online, only to have further issues with the systems microinverters relaying data to the *** I attempted to contact Moxie and it has been nearly two more weeks without a response or attempt to update me. ALL contact has been initiated from me. I have attempted to seek assistance from *** as well with limited success and effect. As I type this I am sitting on hold waiting for technical assistance with my system from SunPower. Furthermore, my home was damaged during install, which took months to resolve and fix at considerable cost to me for follow up and follow through. Throughout my entire experience I have had Moxie employees relay their own dissatisfaction with their employer. They relayed there were ethical business practices being exercised by the *** and upper management, and at least one employee relayed they were quitting due to their dissatisfaction and poor business practices by Moxie. This company should not be allowed to sell anything! I regret vehemently doing business with them and would never do business with them again if I had any choice in the matter. However they are the only company in my region that can apparently service my system. All I have ever asked was for them to do the job they were paid for.

I signed a contract with Moxie Solar on June 24th
I signed a contract with Moxie Solar on June 24th. Since then, I have been assigned three project managers, all of whom have left the company. I never had any contact from the last one. The operations manager, ***, replied to some of my requests until I learned that he no longer services *** customers. There have been numerous delays and mistakes by Moxie. I was asked to sign an interconnection agreement for our power company for an array I did not approve. My project manager, ***, didnt know the agreement had been sent to me. The next project manager, ***, didnt know that my payment from a month earlier had not been processed. (I had received two verification emails that the payment was processed, though the funds had not been drawn from my bank account.) She also could not verify that I was getting *** panels even though I had made these inquiries in an earlier email. The wrong metal roof connectors were given to the installers, *** Construction, delaying panel installation. We were told for two months that there were no available electricians in our area to connect the panels to the meter, but the secretary for the local IBEW said there were electricians looking for work and that Moxie was looking for non-union labor. Finally, on December 10th, a union affiliated electric company arrived and the building inspector approved the work. The ethernet cable for the Enphase monitoring system was buried with the power line out to the power pole where our meter is, not to the house where my modem is. The ground is now frozen so a new ethernet cable cannot be buried. I have made two payments totaling $14,938.87 of $28,898.11. Due to the lack of communication, cooperation, and competency of Moxie Solar I cannot depend on them to make a permanent ethernet connection in the spring once the ground has thawed. I want two things: Moxie to make an operational temporary ethernet connection before year's end and to adjust my *** by $2,000.00.

12/16 Moxie Solar's commitment to handle all permitting for solar installation
12/16 Moxie Solar assures me they will handle all permitting and permissions for solar system installation. Arranged financing and approved through a funding source of $48,928.00 wired directly to Moxie (big mistake). 1/24 First payment due today, Rich reassured they would cover first 3 month's payments. 2/9 The project manager reaches out, provides updates on permitting application status throughout February. 3/4 Oncor approved the solar installation, awaiting other approvals, no install date mentioned. 3/25 Project should be installed by now (3rd payment due), the manager is responsive but no updates, Rich unresponsive. 4/14 I inquire if Moxie could cover payments until installation. 4/25 Told to make 4th payment online and await reimbursement. 5/14 5th payment due, no updates, I inquire about Moxie covering it. 5/19 Confirmation that Moxie will pay, they're having issues with a permit. 6/1 I inquire again about Moxie covering payments, no response. 7/29 I seek updates, the manager needs to consult supervisors. 9/1 No updates, no response. 9/28 Installation now set for 'sometime in October.' I apply for HOA approval, ask them to wait. 12/9 I get approval, but the manager has left the company. No response from anyone: main line, manager's replacement, sales - unreachable by phone. Summary: Moxie covered 5 months of payments, I have nothing (not even materials) and still owe $48,928.00. Moxie is unresponsive. Finish the job or refund the loan, please!

We signed a contract for Home Solar installation with MOXIE Solar back in early June
We signed a contract for Home Solar installation with MOXIE Solar back in early June . Coming up on nearly a year ago. The loan amount was taken out with *** for the maximum value of $70,000.Then months went by with nothing being done. After many attempts to contact them failed, in early December , six months later, they finally told us that they were having issues getting new stock in for the original batteries (Tesla Powerwalls) and asked us if we would be willing to switch to a different type of battery more readily available. We agreed.Another month went by with no updates, and in January, I emailed them again. They said, quoted, " I was recently told we're expecting to receive the ground mount racking any day now. We will get your solar installed ASAP followed by the batteries in the following weeks".Another month later, February 10, the project manager said that the installation was scheduled for Feb 14. They did come out and install the panels. No date was given for the battery installation. Our loan had expired by this point, so we had to renew the loan and pay an extra $7000 on top of it, because the new batteries were more expensive. We did so.March 21, I contacted the project manager about the battery installation to get an estimate. He said "Trying to get you in this week".April 4, they came out and installed the electrical panel, and left the batteries in our garage, saying they would be back out the next day to install them. They never returned. I contacted the *** a week later and he said he was busy and couldn't look into it, and to contact the main office. I did so, with no results. This is where our project remains as of today, May the 9th. I have been constantly contacting them with no results, and today they tell me the batteries in our garage are not the right ones and they need to get new ones out with no ETA. We are paying on the loan now on top of our regular electric ***, which is not sustainable for us.

On September 1 we signed with Moxie to have solar panels installed
On September 1 we signed with Moxie to have solar panels installed. Prior to signing we were told if we ran into any issues, such as permitting, we'd be fully reimbursed. Unfortunately, we did run into a permitting issue Sept 28, which Moxie has acknowledged. Moxie was supposed to contact us October 1, but they did not. Moxie has been very unresponsive since this time and a resolution has not been identified, despite many attempts made by my wife and I. After contacting Moxie on Oct 6, we were notified that a new project manager was assigned. After discussion with the new project manager, we were told that our issue would be sent to the escalation team. After no follow-up from this call, we contacted Moxie on Oct 21, which resulted in a meeting with the *** of Processes and Customer Support on Oct 29; this *** said she take our situation to the President of Moxie and give us a call in one week. After receiving no response, we called the *** of Processes and Customer Support and left a voicemail on Dec 2, with no response (after which we called the *** again on Dec 7, 2021 and Jan 10, 2022). We've even tried calling Moxie's main phone number to talk to anyone, no one answers. We were very excited to install solar on our home, especially with a company based in our home state of Iowa, but our experience with Moxie has left us wishing we never started this venture. Considering we have no equipment installed (in fact, we havent made it far enough into the project to even receive a design plan for our review and approval), considering our experience with Moxie (lack of communication from Moxie; when we are able to reach Moxie we are notified that our project team has changed and are unable to talk to someone familiar with our situation; failure of Moxie to follow-up as they state they will; inability to identify a resolution) and considering this does not appear to be an isolated incident per recent complaints regarding Moxie, we are requesting a refund.

We signed with Moxie Solar to complete a solar installation in June with *** early Sept 2021,
We signed with Moxie Solar to complete a solar installation in June with *** early Sept 2021, installers Moxie hired performed an installation of solar panels sufficient to meet requirements to trigger payment from *** We have been making payments on this loan since Nov. 2021. This portion of the process was challenging as the installers repeatedly gave inconsistent information about when they would be on site even when it required our presence and what work they were completing. The installers appeared to have an indifferent attitude to the quality of their work during that part of the process. After rooftop solar panels were installed, it was necessary to have an electrician complete installation before inspections of prior work completed would be done. This has been repeatedly delayed for various reasons, some of which are internally inconsistent. Communication is often ignored. In late Dec, 2021 and early Jan 2021 an electrician was sent to our home to complete installation, but in both instances we were missing necessary equipment that Moxie had failed to send. In both instances, Moxie was contacted in advance about this potential issue and ignored that communication. Some materials have since been delivered, but there is no means to determine if they are the entirety of what is needed. Since then, there has been no information been given from Moxie aside from automatic "we'll get back to you later" replies. They have ignored dozens of calls and emails. No electrician is scheduled.A project manager had stated Moxie would cover loan payments until work was fully completed, but later stated they only agreed to look into it and cannot do so. As things currently stand, we have no functional system, are making payments on that nonfictional system, have no information on completion, and no means to determine if work currently done was done properly. We are looking for a rapid resolution to this.

The process has gone relatively smoothly until the installation process began
The process has gone relatively smoothly until the installation process began. The engineering phase went well. Communication was good. Getting on the installation schedule took some time. I think the engineering and communication with the utility was finished September 29th. Installation of the panels began in February 2022. In the time between our application being accepted with the utility and installation, I sent 4 emails and only ever received one reply. The first day of installation went well with the subcontracting electric company. However, I noticed they were doing something that wasn't on the original plan. It looked like they were going to install an extra row of panels on the south roof of our house. I was under the impression that we wouldn't be able to fit another row on the south roof and would need to have a few panels on the west roof. I asked about this, and it turns out that the removal of our roof vents during re-roofing had not been communicated to the engineering group. I emailed and asked about whether or not the panels could all fit on the south roof so as to be exposed to sunlight for more of the day. It turns out they could. This was frustrating. I am not an employee at a solar company. One might expect a solar company would also want to prioritize getting solar panels facing the sun. After the 2nd day of installation, I was told that *** was looking into arranging the necessary inspections. A week went by with no word from him. I asked again, and received a vague response. I went ahead and called the city to arrange an inspection. The city inspector came out and immediately informed me that the design on the roof didnt match what the city had. He also pointed out that the supports for the rails were not installed as recommended by the structural engineer. They were supposed to be 4 feet on center, but some of the supports look to be as far apart as 10 feet. Im certain that there are trusses closer

Entered into contract April
Entered into contract April . We asked very specific questions during the sales process to make sure we could reach our desired outcome with a solar purchase. Our goal was to offset energy consumption at 95% or greater and to be able to run HVAC during an outage. We own pugs and they are very heat and cold intolerant so this was a main decision point. To achieve this result the sales team recommended including 2 Tesla Powerwalls in the overall purchase and assured us that would provide enough amperage and stored solar energy to power our home during an outage. We were told that it would take about 3 months to navigate the entire process. Our contract included payment milestones which when completely installed would be 61K for the entire system, including battery back up. To date we have paid for 50% of the system. The solar panels were installed in July . When Moxie called to coordinate the panel install we were told that Tesla batteries were not available and that they had no timeframe for when they would have them. We were offered the option to switch to SunVault. We met with Moxie several times to verify that the switch to another solar storage vendor would still achieve our goals of powering AC/Heat during outage.. We were told yes, provided spec sheets and assured enough amperage and stored power for 2 days. Moxie confirmed the SunVault battery system was in stock and that it would be in their warehouse within 3 weeks. This did not happen. It also took 7 weeks to get the monitoring system up an running at which point we found out that *** November they did install 1 of the 2 batteries. They did not have the other available. It took several weeks to get scheduled. Communication was poor and always initiated by us. During the battery install we found out that the system we were sold WOULD NOT power our HVAC. I requested our account be zeroed out but can't get a return call. More to say but no space.

In March , I hired MOXIE (contr# MD***-1) to install a large Solar panel system and a PowerWall (backup battery). MOXIE promised swift and quality installation (3x faster than competitors) yet I paid MOXIE 2/3 of the agreed contract and over 1 year later I still have an unactivated Solar system with no PowerWall delivered/installed. MOXIE continues to avoid & evade me and due to MOXIEs lack of service, breach of contract, and loss of confidence in their services I seek a full refund and BBBs resolution assistance. In July/August , MOXIE via Green *** installed my solar panels on my house. In Sep-Oct 2021, I left multiple MOXIE staff repeated emails and voice messages inquiring on the status on my project's final activation status. MOXIE claimed it submitted a new electrical permit application that is still awaiting/pending *** Office's final approval. In Dec 2021, MOXIE sent a blanket email to customers apologizing for the delayed service, while also encouraging folks to pay their accounts in full in order to receive current year tax credits (fully knowing that tax credits are only granted on FULLY OPERABLE systems)Jan-May 2022, MOXIE continues to state its waiting on my County's approval.June 2022, *** Office confirmed its records note that MOXIE submitted a building & electrical permit in June that was initially "rejected/disapproved" due to insufficient/improper documentation -- which means my Jul/Aug 2021 panel installation was illegally installed/executed. MOXIE submitted a 2nd electrical permit application in Oct 2021 which was also "rejected/disapproved" for the same previous reasons. None of MOXIEs supervisors nor project managers can be contactly directly (ridiculous). The MOXIE receptionist cannot give out the bosses phones numbers and can only forward customer messages via email...which no one responds to.This company's customer service is the worst EVER, *** please HELP!

On March 16, 2022, I informed Moxie that this was my last attempt to get an install date. Moxie said they located my equipment on the East Coast, 814 miles from me in an undisclosed location (I have no way to validate). They were shipping the equipment to their local operations site in a different undisclosed location, not to my house. They still wouldn't give me an install date. After dozens of emails and voicemails over 5 months, Moxie Solar installation crew showed up on March 24, 2022, at 2:30 pm to install the ground mount support. It took over a week to install. Initially, they only installed 14 solar panels out of 34. After filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com, Moxie showed up the next day with the remaining 20 panels. Two were broken during installation on April 1, 2022. On Monday, April 4, 2022, Moxie replaced the two broken panels; however, they broke another panel. Currently, as of April 6, 2022, I have 34 panels installed and one is broken (no replacement date provided) and no scheduled installation activities for the future.
In March I contacted SunPower to complain and they opened case number X. This case was closed to Normal via input from Moxie Solar, however, I was never consulted. After learning the case was closed, I had SunPower open a new case number. Currently, I have no resolution on my specific complaint.
I have completely lost trust in this company. I wonder if they will stay in business much longer? See the article on the Press-Citizen website for more information about Moxie Solar's consumer complaints. Buyer Beware!
