National Cellular Directory helped me find a phone number of a distant relative
National Cellular Directory helped me find a phone number of a distant relative. I decided right now I would not be using them and called to cancel. They were very nice and respectful and did as I requested without any questions or problem. I would use them again if I need them.

I used this service for one 99 cent call. It is now appearing as a deduction to my account as $19.99, It was the incorrect number anyway. How can I get a refund of $19.99? I see this complaint has been filed a number of times before. Here is my e mail address: I appreciate your help in this matter. Kathleen

Absolute scam. I am getting recurring charges , I don't even have an email set up. I will be contesting charges and will sue if I don't get my funds back on my card. Scam website .

An absolute scam, I signed up for their one day special, looked up a number. They took my credit card info and signed me up for a monthly charge of $19.99 it took me several months to recognize it (my bad) , then when I tried to call them they did not answer my call for 60 minutes, I hung up and had to cancel my credit card to stop the charges. Absolute scam!

They were very helpful in every way I would recommend them to anyone else who needs a cell phone number fast. Great customer service and very nice people to work with.
Quick and accurate-they found an old high school friend when several other locater services failed.
Excellent service! Easy, fast, accurate...I am very pleased and will use them again.

I did not purchase a long term usage of this search as I only needed to look up one person
I did not purchase a long term usage of this search as I only needed to look up one person. We easily found him and phone numbers in order to get in touch with him. As this worked out so well, we looked up a few others that my boyfriend had been trying to reach for years. Again we had positive results finding phone numbers in order to contact them. We highly recommend. I had no issues canceling that I am aware of at this time.

Very pleased
Very pleased. I got a phone number for $.99, cheapest on the web. Their site makes it clear that you get seven days free if you sign up for a membership and that you will be charged $20+/- per month after that. But unlike many companies, they make it very clear how to cancel. I signed up to get the low rate, then pasted the email address they provided into my browser and bingo, bango, bongo...they confirmed my cancelation. Very pleased

I am not sure who is giving these people 3, 4, let alone 5 stars unless it is their friends and relatives
I am not sure who is giving these people 3, 4, let alone 5 stars unless it is their friends and relatives. They are selling what should be free public records but what I got is not even 1% accurate - wrong name, wrong country , wrong dates! And then no easy way to cancel membership online and they list a telephone number to waste even more time. I dont know why VISA / Mastercard even let them process charges. Guess I will have to dispute.

I just realized the I've been being charged $19.99 for over a year for a National Cellular Directory service I never use or knowingly signed up for. I cancelled today and they informed me that I must had used the service and hence "signed up for the monthly charge," because I didn't cancel in the 7 day grace period. These people are thieves who prey on people who may fail to read their fine print. I would advise people to not use this company.

I purchased a National Cellular Directory trial membership for the very limited purpose of getting contact information for a specific person. Because I did not want to launch additional searches, I submitted a cancellation request via email within the required one-week cancellation period for the trial membership. Customer Service was incredibly responsive to my request. They courteously and promptly canceled my trial membership, thereby helping me to avoid monthly membership charges. Great customer service!

National Cellular Directory : I had a very good experience with NCD! Their information was very informative. I failed to completely read the trial period of 7 days and at the end of the the membership cost would start. When I saw the cost on my CC account I called them. I talked to Richard (outstanding young Man), He explained the billing and what I failed to read and with no hesitation cancelled subscription and credited my CC. I was very impressed! I would not think twice about using their service again! M. Wade W.

It took me some time to wade through all the possibilities, but I finally got the information I was looking for in spite of having tried and failed with other similar services. I was able to connect by email with my target individual and very glad of that. I have a pretty complete and current set of contacts and addresses, so signing up for the full time nationalcellulardirectory in my case doesn't make sense, but it might be cost effective and efficient for someone needing to track down a lot of details on a lot of people.

The National Cellular Directory took the number I was looking up and confirmed that they had a name and address for the phone number. I paid the one time fee of $9.99 to receive the name and address for the number. Once I received the information, all that was included was the phone number, which I already had. No name, no address information was given despite being told it had been verified. Very disappointing. I only used this service due to its high ComplaintsBoard.com score and positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was a waste of $10 bucks.

The good folks at National Cellular Directory stood by their word and allowed me to cancel my service account, after the trial period, just as stated with the initial offer! The 7 day trial was excellent and did all promised and was extremly cheap @ only $4.99. That time was long enough for my personal phone number checking. But I can see where a longer period may be helpful too. I was just impressed with the great customer service and speedy replies and recomend them to anyone to try. I will contact them in the future again as needed. Sincerly a happy customer! Wm. Bush, Tampa Bay, Florida

I had the same experience with this business as many others have reported
I had the same experience with this business as many others have reported. I signed up for one lookup at $0.99, and the charge was paid. I then discovered that I had been involuntarily signed up for their "Silver" service at $19.99 per month. When I complained, they gave me a "courtesy" refund and cancelled my subscription. They told me that I had signed up, and that services were provided "every month". I read their fine print when I bought the one lookup, and neither statement is correct. It appears to be their business model to sign everyone up and drain money for the accounts of all who do not check often enough to detect the deception in time. Whatever they were doing to justify their charges may have been within the law-I am not a lawyer-but it is not honest and should be illegal. I gave them one star because 0 was not available.

Unauthorized debit card charges
I just realized National Cellular has taken 29.99 from my checking account on April 6, 2023, May 8, 2023 and June 6, 2023 via my debit card.
I paid them 9.99 once to help me find information about a friend I had not heard from in years.
I was unaware National Cellular would be charging 29.99 every month since then.
I want a refund for these charges, please.

I have been charged repeatedly the sum of $19.99 monthly and I do not know why
I have been charged repeatedly the sum of $19.99 monthly and I do not know why. I know how these pseudo-businesses work and if I signed anything for services from them it was because of confusion. I do not want to be charged for this pretend service at any cost in the future.

You sign up for a one time check of a phone number for 99 cents but then they automatically sign you up for their membership for 20 dollars a month. They say you have 7 days to cancel but the language is purposely misleading especially since you're paying for that one time lookup of a number already.

Hello, I used a one time 99 cents phone search online with National Cellular Direct on January 25 and have been charged 19.99 per month since February 1 totally $139.99. I was not aware that I would be charged monthly and do not use this service. In fact, I thought it was for my phone until my daughter asked me what it was. I am an 80 year old widow and I think this company preys on those who are not familiar with these type of traps such as the elderly. The credit card has been cancelled because it was in my husband's name and he recently passed away but I would like to be credited for $139.99.

I used their directory service on 11/22 to look up a single phone number 1 time only, for 99 cents for their service
I used their directory service on 11/22 to look up a single phone number 1 time only, for 99 cents for their service. Due to a deceptive practice, they have been billing me $19.99 a month since that date for hundreds of dollars. Because I have many reoccurring charges on my bank account every month, I didn't notice that they have been charging me $19.99 per month since my first 99 cent charge. I called and spoke to the woman and she said I agreed to this billing when I used their service for my 99 cent purchase. I am usually very careful, but I did not see any contract for $19.99 per month and I feel taken advantage of. I called them and they gave me a refund, but would not pay me the $219.89 they cheated me out of. I will be filing a complaint to the US Government's Federal Trade Commission and FBI Scams and Safety Division regarding National Cellular Direct. This is clearly a deceptive practice.

In August I was billed twice for $29.99 by National Cellular Direct
In August I was billed twice for $29.99 by National Cellular Direct. I called the company and told them that I was unaware they would automatically sign me up for their services. They cancelled the service (they said) and refunded the amount to my bank account. I thought that was done and would be the last I heard from them. I looked at my bank account this morning and a repeated debit purchase from National Cellular Direct charged me twice on 11/28 for $29.99 or S59.98 total. I called them at this number [protected]) and said I had cancelled in August, I also changed my debit card number so somehow they were able to charge me again without my new card number. They refused to refund and I don't know if they actually have cancelled the service although I repeated to them that I don't want it. I suspect they are trying to scam a 66 year old woman and will continue to charge me for a service I don't use. I do not have time or money for this. Please help me get this straightened out.

Three years ago, while I was inexperienced being aware of Internet scams and false advertising, I tried finding a phone number from directory assistance. national cellular dir. came up with a price,of $.99 cents to do a search. I did the search and never realized there was a subscription for $19.99 per month I was also agreeing to,unless cancelled in 7 days. My wife handles the payment of monthly bills including our credit card.. She assumed National Cellular was a monthly fee for my cell phone service. Original charge was June . This month, because my wife was unable to handle payment of monthly bills due to injury to her writing hand, I took over doing it. THIS was the first time I knew I was unscrupulously prayed upon for an ongoing subscription with this company! They have charged me in excess of $700 for one number looked looked up June that said the cost was .99 cents. I saw nothing of agreeing for them to continue charging me forever without any further notice or, emails of confirmation despite one time use over three year period. This is deception in advertising and takes advantage,of senior citizens like myself who did not realize such scams were being perpetrated on a simple phone directory search I could have gotten elsewhere for minimal fee if, I had realized the kind of deception and unethical practices being done by companies such as this one. There is no reasonable person looking to obtain a single number search over a three year period and be charged over $700 and agree to it under any common sense thought process. It is partly my fault for not seeing the "fine print" but, I have been bilked out of all this money for requesting a single number search. I am requesting a refund of at least 50% of the charges. I will accept the balance as an expensive lesson I learned due to this. Thus far, they have only refunded four months @$19.199 each thus I am still out $600 due to inappropriate and misleading advertising by this company. Thanks!

I searched everywhere online to find phone numbers for a canceled baby shower. National Cellular Directory was the only site to help without charging me unreasonably. I found 9/10 of the numbers I needed. It was quick, easy and unintrusive. Thank you!
Good service to locate people including multiple addresses, phone numbers.
