This has been horrible under them and no one can seem to stop it
This has been horrible under them and no one can seem to stop it. The house is a piece of trash..they make it look great then charge you for all the problems that were wrong with it prior to you moving on. I went a month with flooding and then they charged me for the flooding issue which the contractor told them was an issue before I arrived. I refused to pay and now they are charging me a late fee for it each month. I am at the point where I will lose deposit and I dont care. My water have been shut off twice for them not paying and they have smart mouth idiots running this. It's a disgrace and soon as I find something I will be leaving.

I have been charged twice for garbage cans, " garbage cans what" I travel for business and could not recall if my cans were brought back from the curb. Since the COVID 19, ive been at home and make sure my cans are brought up before the end of Thursday. I was charged another garbage can fee. I called the property management office, spoke with someone by the name of Cameron. He guaranteed he would check with the home owners association and either he would call or someone would follow back up with me to provide documents of the charges Since then i never received a call back, ive left messages on the toll free number, had to hang up because i was on hold for so long and im just exhausted and left with no choice but to file this complaint I believe in resolving complaints between the parties involved but i was left with no other choice This really disturbs me to file this complaint because i have had not but positive things to say about National Home Rentals, even recommending them to friends and family I guess i was fooled...

After paying over $3,000 with first month rent and deposit I arrived at the rental house to move in only to find that the water system was not being maintained so all the water in the house was brown, smelly, and had a texture to it. Took them over 7 days to fix the problem. Obvious no one took care of the house between renters or checked it before we moved in. It also had a large pile of construction trash consisting of broken glass, rusty metal, and old mailboxes in the backyard that I ran into when mowing the lawn. They removed a shed in the back but apparently left all of the wood base pieces with rusty nails sticking straight into the air. Should not have been advertised as "move in ready" or "kid and pet friendly". They have been sending contractor out to slowly fix the problems but not having water for 7 days in a pandemic was horrible, and it more shows me that there is absolutely no accountability and no one managing the properties. Hold call times are long and the employees are usually just as in the dark to when thing are scheduled to be fixed anyways. Billing is also an issue. I set up for auto pay for my base rent however for utilities, electricity, and pet fees get rolled into another "base rent" and none of the dates line up with my move in dates. They seem to have no regard to keeping accurate files.
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! We rented a "nice" looking house from them in St Pete FL (5321 48th ter n). To start they were very responsive in the leasing process, however immediately after it was pulling teeth to get anything done. When we moved in the house was not cleaned (as stated in the lease it would be), there was termite damage, rods and hazards all over the yard (a live wire from the power pole), no keys to the shed (come to find out was filled with junk and trash). There was no move in inspection or communication (had to call rently to get a code to go in and leave door unlocked for a week waiting for NHR to give code). The termite and cleaning was supposed to be addressed prior to move in but it was months after before anything was touched. About a month after move in they started sending inspectors out randomly (no identification and no heads up). Come to find out, they were inspecting the HVAC system as it had not passed code and did not until over a year into the lease. Come summer, we found that the AC could not keep the house cool. (thermostat would read a minimum of 88 with it set to 74 running 24/7). The reason is they added an addition to the house (converted carport with no permits) and did not insulate the addition or run duct work to the room. It acts as a heat sink and the AC cant keep up. We fought about this for months. A company finally came out and couldnt do anything due to the system didnt pass inspection. Once the inspection passed they tried a couple failed things. Ended up putting in a mini split. As a result, we run the AC at 72 24/7 and the minisplit on full power 24/7 to get the house to stay at 74-76. The AC and fans never turn off. Our power bill is almost 400. They were supposed to install a second but never happened. We had to have them put insulation in the attic of the original house due to all of it being eaten by rats. No response from NHR about fixing it. We had a leak from the outside, flooding the laundry room. It took about a month to address it, they caulked the wrong spot and I ended up having to fix it myself. We had no gutters and it was destroying the outside of the house. They installed gutters that dont touch the roof so the rain goes behind the gutters. There is a pole on the front porch that is randomly electrified. During a time when the sewer backed up into the guest bathtub and it took over a week to have someone come out, the plumber was snaking the lines from the vent and was shocked. It took forever to get an electrician out to see, couldnt find an easy fix and nothing else was done about it. We had an issue with the guest bathroom tub not changing temperatures with the handle. NHR employee came out to fix and ended up cutting a huge hole in the closet. Turns out they needed to change the handle. Every single time there has been an issue it has been hell to get them to address it. When they do it is a horrible patch on something. When we signed the lease we paid first, last and security and got a promo of 1 month free with a multi year lease. Turns out, they ledger it as first and security (security equal to 2 months rent) so that they get to steal that money at the end. They also have issues with their payment system. It returned payments multiple times, it usually takes 5 days for the payment to clear, then they return it (call it insufficient funds which wasnt true), then the system locks you out and takes 1-3 days to get a response from NHR to reset it so you can pay it again. This forces you to be "late" on payment. This is done so that they can go back on the promo month. The last fiasco was; the not to code HVAC system was installed incorrectly. The air handler has a tank under it for collecting water. It has a float switch in it and drains to the outside. If for some reason, the drain clogs and water fills the tray, the float switch turns the system off. Well NHR had it wired backwards so no float switch. The water filled up, leaked onto drywall and we came home one night to the living room ceiling in the floor, damaging our belongings. NHR did not send anyone out for 3 days. I had to clean it up and tarp the ceiling to keep the insulation from blowing into the house (toxic insulation i add). The hole in the ceiling has yet to be repaired and the AC is still leaking. This company is a scam. Everyone collecting a paycheck from them should be put in prison indefinitely. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! I could go on and on about how terrible they are
