I've called for help with my loans a few times over the years, and nearly every experience has been negative
I've called for help with my loans a few times over the years, and nearly every experience has been negative. Today I called to continue covid disaster forbearance to some private loans that I cannot afford. The rep I spoke with said she doubted I would qualify, and used fear tactics to convince me to switch to a payment plan. She also attempted to intimidate me into entering consolidation, which would prevent me from entering assistance programs In the future, by implying that my interest rate will likely go up if I don't consolidate asap. This type of manipulation is consistent with 90% of my interactions with Navient. They clearly misrepresent themselves in ads and their site as having borrowers best interests in mind, but thats patently false. They only want their money, no matter how detrimental it is to their trapped borrowers, and they'll use unethical means over and over to do so.

After Navient stopped sending me bills three months ago due to the Covid 19 situation, last week I started to receive multiple emails and phone calls about not having paid in three months. They were going to charge me late fees because my payment was late. I had not paid because they stopped sending me a bill so I guess this makes it late. After I spoke to someone last week who said they would start sending me a paper bill (again), I received yet another six phone calls. I attempted to pay with a credit card last week, but they do not accept credit cards. I eventually put a check into the mail, but the phone calls keep coming. I was told when my check is cleared, they will stop calling. Right... I never asked them to stop billing me due to Covid 19, then they turned around and wanted to charge me a late fee for their decision. They are terrible company. I am going to work very hard to pay off my daughter's loan in 2021.
Just talked to representative who told me the pandemic was over and if I want to stop getting calls from them, to pay my bills. [censored] this incredibly predatory loan company and the entire system.
NAVIENT IS SAYING THAT MY STUDENT LOANS DO NOT FALL UNDER THE BIDEN-HARSSION AMD. IT STATES THAT ALL STUDENT LOANS ARE TO BE IN FOREBARENCE UNTIL AUGUST 31 2022. THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT I AM PAST DUE. THEY KEEP SENDING ME PAPERS AND CALLING ME. I AM GETTING PUT UP WITH THERE CRAB BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE.
Navient is the biggest bully out there. They have gone as far as pulling up my credit report over the phone to collect payments. They call me at all hours of the day. The latest is they have contacted two of my siblings, asking for my information. They have also contacted my previous job to find out what my salary is. I have tried to set up payments with them and they're trying to charge me double. Terrible company. Will be seeking an attorney.
No issues for loan application and distribution
No issues for loan application and distribution. All of my issues occurred once I was in repayment. I don't trust them and have to constantly check to ensure that they are doing their job. Recently I was in a direct pay/auto pay program. When I checked my account I noticed that they were receiving twice the amount that was agreed upon. In essence receiving two payments instead of one. I am sure this would have happily gone unnoticed for months. The second I don't pay my bill they use all methods to contact and harass me but when I try to get my money back it takes forever. I am going to find another loan servicer as I am tired of dealing with them. I do not trust them and have had a terrible customer service experience. One time an agent started yelling at me. When I asked to speak to their manager, then the manager started yelling at me! My wife has a different loan servicer and has had none of these problems. Time to move on!
I'd give 0 stars if possible. Terrible customer service and constant lack of helpful information. Not sure of another type of business that can deny providing information in print or through email in 2022.
Navient is a terrible company and has been the focus of multiple congressional investigations for predatory lending. I tried to continue to defer my loan payment in accordance with federal law, but Navient continues to bill me (and take on "late fees"). The customer service is below par, when you can actually reach it. The homepage is not user friendly, almost as if it is designed to be confusing so they can continue milking poor student borrowers for sweet, sweet cash. Never do business with them!
Navient is the most dishonest business I've had to deal with. I set up automatic payments to get myself caught up and set it up with a very specific amount. I got an email saying I was going to be charged double what I arranged to pay. This has happened multiple times. I just happened to catch it before it processed this time. I will be seeing legal advise because of this. My other problem I have with them is if you get behind on your payments, they send you a letter saying "we can help". Well, when you call asking for said help, they say "Sorry, there's nothing we can do to help". I truly wish with ever fiber in my being that this company goes under. I warn everyone that I can to never use them. I have been paying on a $13k loan for 10 years and I STILL owe $13k. Make that make sense. On top of that, even being 1 day late, I get 7-10 calls A DAY until I set a payment date with them. Borderline harassment. I urge anyone considering Navient to rethink your decision and run FAR FAR away. Navient can kick rocks.
the navient company is horrible. You can pay on time for 10 years and still have them harass you over one day of missing a payment.
Some frustrated individual who referred to himself in the 3rd person as "Jay" was incredibly rude, condescending, and did not even let me speak
Some frustrated individual who referred to himself in the 3rd person as "Jay" was incredibly rude, condescending, and did not even let me speak before assuming he knew everything and spoke over me. He tried sending a code via text that never came through (3 attempts). I was trying to ask if he could tell me the number he had, but he just kept on insisting he had divine knowledge about everyone and everything. He finally said he would call back in 60 seconds to allow the text to come through (although I had sent myself a text to make sure all was working...he of course ignored this info...again), and when I attempted to ask him to tell me which number he had on file he hung up on me. Needless to say the phone never rang because obviously he had the wrong number. Total jerk and pompous yank with zero respect for anyone besides himself who he obviously holds in high regard. They don't care about having the right phone number, then I suppose I don't rightly give a hoot if they receive payment or not.
I have several student loans with them and after coming off hardship I was denied a affordable payment plan as I previously have been on. I was told by Alona and her manager my plan couldn't be lowered and I never had the payment I was asking for on rate reduction plan. I did advise I have bank statements so I know what I have payed. I was told it's not fafsa so I can't create my own plan. They refused to offer a lower payment plan and I paid lower for years so not sure why I was given such a hard time with Alona and her manager. They are rude and a person trying to pay but the amount they asked for is impossible for me and my income.
I have two student loans with Navient. I recently sent a check to payoff both loans. For reference the check was dates 3/7/2022 and mailed 3/9/2022. On the check I had my account number. I checked my bank account on 3/15/22 and the check had cleared. After checking online to see if the payment was posted (it was not), I called their customer service. I sent a copy of the cleared check to them and asked why has the payment not posted. They indicated that they have yet to receive the payment. They said it will take another week to investigate the issue. Very frustrating with no help. They have the funds but could not apply it as of the date of this complaint.
Awful company. Never take out any type of loan with them! Ever! I have repaid $18,000 towards an original loan amount of $20,500 and they now state that I owe $23,000 to pay the loan off. I have been making payments on time to them for years and now I am deeper in debt than when I originally financed the loan? This does not make sense on a loan with an 8.25% interest rate. I cannot believe the Complaintsboard.com has them rated as a B- business with all of the lawsuits they have been involved in already. The Fed. Govt. should really put a stop to their practices of theft, deception, extortion, and fraud. People with Private Navient Student Loans have been allowed to file lawsuits but the majority of people with Federal Loans are getting ripped off and scammed at an unbelievable rate... and the Federal Govt. knows about it and is letting it happen? I really hope the personnel in charge there face criminal charges at some point. They are a terribly dishonest company and should not be allowed to practice any type of business in America!

I'm not paying for my student loan
I'm not paying for my student loan. You can send me threats all day long, but the fact of the matter is, the government is responsible for its citizen education. Your affiliates sponsored a school that couldn't provide me the educational resources to afford me a job. This company by the way, was later closed for government fraud. The school marginalized, sexually harassed, and deprived me of necessary education to get the advertised job. I'm reporting you for spam if you email me. You can rape me of all my money and personal belongings and I'm simply not paying you, ever. I'll evade you at every turn working under societal furls. You'll assist the government in cancelling this loan, and take responsibility for your citizens like every other responsible country in Asia, the Middle East, pay for health care, pay for housing. This is the government's responsibility. So we're at odds and you're at my mercy. You will not contact me again or I'll begin researching your staff and writing reviews with their full names in them because they work for a fraudster and everyone should know it.
This has to be one of the worst loan companies on Earth
This has to be one of the worst loan companies on Earth. After 10 years of seriously terrible customer service and a myriad of problems caused by Navient I was finally fed up and decided to refinance with the federal government under a different loan. My loan was paid in full on Dec 15, yet Navient neglected to turn off my auto pay and once my account was closed I was no longer able to do this myself online. Navient continued to draft payments from my account. And over drafted my account 3 days before Christmas. My power bill came out of my account 1 day later and there were no funds for it. I called Navient. Their response after desperate please and a lot of tears explaining this terrible situation caused by the negligence of their company? They refunded the amount not to ME, but to my new loan company that I did not owe any payment to until February. They refused to reverse course or fix the problem. I think a job requirement here is heartlessness. I can only imagine an office full of Grinch like characters laughing in glee as they ruin people's lives. I say this only because the women on the other end of the line in the Philippines who told me she refunded my money to somewhere else actually came back on the phone from hold laughing and telling someone else I was crying. Purely heartless.
Worst company
Worst company. Have struggled and fought with this company for years to work with me on repayment plans that I can afford. If I can't afford it they automatically throw my co-signer under the bus saying if I can't pay it, then they have to. I'm trying to make it doable so that I can make some sort of a payment, so why can't we work it out...Also, if a payment is missed by even a day, they hound you with several phone calls per day to you and your co-signer until you make a payment. For years I was told I wasn't allowed to defer payments because I used up all my deferments...when I had only used them from time to time, not several times in a row. Every time I talk to someone they try to tell me "let's try to lower your payment" then after digging, they realize I'm already paying the minimum, which is still quite a chunk of money...I'm struggling financially after having covid and they tell me that if I can't pay, the cosigner needs to pay, mind you my co-signer is having his own financial struggles. Meanwhile, loan payments are technically on pause until May 2022. How can they hound you like this? This company has literally made my life a living hell and regret ever going to college! I tell people don't bother going to college unless you have the cash in hand, because businesses such as this one will literally take you to your grave!

Navient is a predatory loan servicer and make little of no effort to assist customers when they are having financial issues that prevent loan payments. I first contacted Navient to let them know that my income was cut in half during the pandemic and I was having financial problems. Also, I was previously told that I was on deferment and then I was told I was not on deferment and then was sent an email saying my deferment would be expiring soon. When I call Navient, I am told different things by different representatives regarding my loan. So, my monthly payment was not manageable so I asked if Navient could do something to help me. I learned that not only did Navient not adjustment my monthly payments, they sent new documents that increased my loan even more. Everything I tried to prevent me from defaulting on the Parent Plus loans that I took out many many year ago for my now adult children, Navient said I did not qualify. How can you win with this company. Because of Navient, my loans are moving toward almost $ 100,000. I am elderly and will probably did before these loans are ever paid off. I am traumatized from my interactions with Navient and feel they are the worst predators I've ever dealt with. This company is not there to work with customers, they are there to run your loans up until there is no way to get relief from them. They prey on the poorest borrowers who are trying to help their children get an education and the same advantage their wealthy counterparts have.
People may think this is a top notch company but it is the most incompetent
People may think this is a top notch company but it is the most incompetent. How they were chosen as a loan servicer baffles me. It's more like a scam. I was supposed to be on forbearance for plus loans I took out for my now adult children. Yet, I continued to get a montly bill and even a threat of default. I called to resolve and was told I was never on forbearance. Then I got an email saying my forebearance was ending January 2. I called again and spoke with someone that had me biting my nails. He said I was not on forbearance I told him I was no longer employed but he offered no assistance. Finally he said he would see if I qualified under some Covid relief, he gave me a ID number and asked me to call back in a couple of weeks to see if I was approved. I called back two weeks later in December and spoke to someone who spoke bad English who gave me no assistance. She said that I applied in September for Covid Relief and it was expiring Jan. 2nd. I told her I did not apply in Sept. I applied in Dec. two weeks ago. Out of frustration I asked to speak to a supervisor. She made up every excuse in the book not to let me speak to a supervisor, put me on hold, connected me to a survey and finally disconnected me. Is Navient legit or a scam? This company feels more and more like a scam. You get no where when you call. The left hand does not know what the right hand does. Evidently no one is recording actions taken in customer files from one call to the next. The customer service at Navient is a total joke. Don't be deceived by the name Navient. I would not be surprised if all our social security numbers and other personal information ended up on the black web. Please somebody investigate!
I honestly have never dealt with a company as horrible and awful as Navient Loans
I honestly have never dealt with a company as horrible and awful as Navient Loans. my student loans (privately acquired through Chase Student Loans) was sold off to Navient. In the last year alone, I have gotten over 300 calls, because their systems do not update to different centers (who ever collects payments does not seem to update the people that call for payments). My payments have been about 97% on time, with a few being late. The problem comes that if the payment is due on the 7th, they are calling by the 8th and 9th. now since there is no direct payment, and they offer only a checking transfer, it takes at least 2-3 business days for the payment to process. so the payment is stamped on the 7th, and already they are calling me without even checking their own fking systems to see that a payment is pending (which i know they can see because i have gotten that verbal confirmation after i give them the confirmation number from my payment). all of this would be enough for my 1 star review, but thats just the tip of this awful company. My father had co-signed on the loans at the time of me getting them, and that co-sign status carried through to the naviet buyout of the loan. my father has gotten over 300 calls in the last year as well, DEMANDING him to make payment on the account (that for memory again, is NOT PAST DUE) as well as sending letters telling him they are collecting on a debt (in wording that has often annoyed my father because he thinks that the loan has gone to a debt collector and is a negative mark on his credit). now we tried several times to rectify this, but ensuring that the contact information is set under my name, the contact methods are my accounts, and that communication is attempted to me first. but there always more [censored] behind the curtain, as when my father actually answers the phone, they WONT confirm any information on the account because "the account is not under his name and they are not allowed to disclose that information", when i tried to remove my father as the co-signer, they told me that i could not without his permission! when i asked what address they had on file they were sending him information too, again i was told "we cannot give you that information because he is only the co-signer" so to recap this, i cannot remove my father or even verify that his information is correct, and my father cannot verify or ask any questions about the account because its not his account, BUT they can blow up both of our phones an awful lot to get us to make payments. now all this you could justify as miss-communications down the line, or they using some [censored] legal justification to keep me and my dad on different lines of communication, but the absolute ICING on this crap company came last week, when i had paid from a different account (a new one i set up specifically for billpay usage), Navient called me a record 22 times in ONE (1) hour while i was at work and in meetings. when i finally answered, angry as hell, they said "oh we just wanted to confirm a payment made to your account"... AS IF THEY WOULD EVER FKING CARE WHERE THE MONEY CAME FROM! if someone REALLY wanted to hack into my student loan account and pay off my debts, i wouldn't even throw up a hand to stop them. the TL:DR (too long, didnt read) is this: Navient is a fking scam of a company and they just are no better then loan sharks that will threaten you left and right, blow up your phone with calls to collect money. they should be closed, and moving my loan off to a credit union was the best thing i ever did and i would recommend ANYONE who can move away from this company, DO IT!
Navient Complaints 9
In the last three days, I have received seven phone calls from Navient
In the last three days, I have received seven phone calls from Navient. Two calls came on Wednesday six hours apart from each other. On Thursday two more calls came in. This time it was less than two hours apart from each other. On Friday, I received three phone calls less than three hours apart from each other. The phone calls Friday used a 716 area code number and spoofed the calls. Also the third call when I answered no one spoke up and sat silent. It was their intent to have me hang up then call back which would then direct me to Navient. That phone call there is deceptive. Also, according to FCC regulations a business attempting to collect debt cannot spoof a phone number. It is misleading and deceptive. Also, repeated attempts to contact in this case is a illegal under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I want to make a formal complaint and speak to someone in regards to having my entire account removed from Navient. The company did not notify me that a chunk of my federal student loans, which I had consolidated into my private loans, were sold off to a separate company. This not only nullified any prior payment agreements with Navient, it also means I now and paying for double student loans. My payment options did not change under Navient and it was expected I continue to pay the current payment without getting an updated breakdown on my account or how this move impacts my account. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the company has broken several of the binding privacy and best practices and I would like to file a lawsuit against the company.

I was informed that Navient will no longer be servicing student loans, then I received a notice to pay a bill so I contacted them and they said they are still in service. I have a loan with Everest college which I thought would be cancelled until March 2022 Navient reported my loan to credit bureau and my score was decreased by 163 POUNTS! which caused a big delay in my living standards...I was told that because my loan was private it's not covered under the cares ACT, so I told the agent I wanted to consolidate my loan to be direct and covered under cares act, she asked did I want her to assist me and I agreed so she guided me through the app uploaded to my student loan account portal. Then 2 months later I got a notice saying my bill is due. I called to find out how are they still servicing my loan after I consolidated it to federal and I found out that there is 2 consolidation options which I was guided to do the wrong consolidation that would keep Navient my sericer...my loan was supposed to be cancelled under the Everest lawsuit but because I dis the wrong consolidation I received no assistance...Navient has been misleading me all these years because I never understood my options
My daughter missed a payment on her student loan. She signed up for automatic withdrawals. They assured har she would not be considered delinquent. Then went ahead and ruined my perfect credit score. They refuse to remove this blemish from my credit report.Went from 848 to 701. My daughter has been paying them for probably close to 20 yrs, with no issues.my husband and I were the co-signs. The loan is under
I am not for this debt and i do not have the contract with NAVIENT plus they do not provide me with the original application liked i asked
As a mother of a St
As a mother of a St. Jude Chidlren's Reach patient and CNN media contactor, I am uttlery appauled with Navient. My credit report just recently as of last week is showing collections of $0 balance accounts from 2014 and 2016 that were removed fromy credit report years ago. They have 5 that are on my credit report from Navient with $0 balances. I was so horrifed when my credit scored dropped, that I told my CNN producer about the issue. She was so kind and started doing background research with her Washington DC Watch Dog contact and discovered that I'm not the only one that Navient is doing this to. When Navient began to updating their systems, they began to re -add negative information that was disputed and removed from prior years. They also add negative information that was never the person's credit report. I am one of the people that disupted the information and Navient removed all 5 negative accounts many years ago and they now they have changed the dates and added them back. I am meticulous with my credit reports and I show my CNN producer hard copied of my all my credit reports from [protected]. The years where the same Navient information was on the reports and the updated reports from years prior to 2014,2015, 2016,2017, 2018, and the reports were Navient removed them. She sent them with her Washington DC Watch Dog agency an they re-confimed Naivent is doing this to many people. She told me to contact the complaintsboard.com first and see what happens. This will be part of a wider issues that plaguing many people across the Nation with Navient and their unfair practices.

Navient will not apply overpayments as per the payor's instructions. I owe over 95k, of which 30k is interest! How is this allowed? It is standard business practice to apply a payment against a balance as instructed. Instead however they keep us borrowers in DEBT! by applying the due payment 80 percent to interest, then 20 percent to the base. Any overpayments are applied the same so you cant get the base of the total balance down! This is like loansharking! I will be happy to restart monthly payments, but it never decreases when I do because of their poor practices.
Navient is harassing me for payment on a loan that they are unable to verify that I owe
Navient is harassing me for payment on a loan that they are unable to verify that I owe. They are reporting it against my credit report and causing my credit score to decrease. I have reached out on several occasions to obtain some clarity, however, the company is unable to provide adequate documentation that I owe the loan in question. This loan was supposedly taken out in November, however, the proof they are sending me is from a Sallie Mae loan I took out in 2000 and another loan (for Discover) in August. The Sallie Mae loan was paid in full and closed back in 2004 and the account associated with Discover shows it has been closed and there was no balance due. The representative (***) I spoke with at Discover (02/11/2022) stated that they do not work with Navient and do not sell their loans. Upon further review of the account in question, *** stated that it appeared as though the funds were never dispersed and stated that this could be the reason for the closure of the account. I have tried to access my account information through the Discover website, however, there is no information that is accessible. Per *** - the Discover rep, there was no information she could provide me on her end either. I have been trying to resolve this issue for many years and have finally had it with trying to get any clarification. I do believe that some payments were initially made on the loan as I did have other personal loans out at the time and I was just paying my bills. I do not recall ever seeing documentation from Navient or bills from Navient initially. Once I saw they were coming from Navient, I began to question the authenticity of the debt. All previous debts have been accounted for. This one remains and I would like to have it resolved and removed from my credit report.

I submitted paperwork(loan assistance from my employer) to the company to fill out in May. The turn around time was 10 days. With this paperwork being to get assistance with paying the student loan they are time sensitive. The paperwork is now due next Wednesday 6.15.22 and after 3 calls I have yet to obtain the paperwork. I was told the paperwork was completed and sent but I have yet to receive them after 3 calls.
I have contacted Navient several times to get discharged from the loan due to health issues. They would not assist, so I got ahold of NelNet on May 27th at 10:00 a.m. and spoke with a representative. They requested Navient provide them with the master promissory note, however, Navient has omitted the critical information needed to release me from this loan, which included the borrower's date of birth and social security number. I have not missed a payment since the beginning of this loan, however, I am no longer in contact with Charisse R. Adams. Navient will not help in providing me the necessary documents to get discharged and released from this student loan I cosigned. Please find hundreds of reviews online showing others being cheated and lied to like I am. Please help.

I am a victim of predatory student lending practices via ITT Tech and Navient Solutions, LLC
I am a victim of predatory student lending practices via ITT Tech and Navient Solutions, LLC. I have roughly $26k in private student loans all through ITT all with Navient Solutions, LLC. Due to the insurmountable debt I've acquired through these scams I've had to move a lot and lost a lot of my records of my student loan statements throughout the life of the private loans, dating from [protected]. I would like retrieve copies of these statements and records. I have asked Navient repeatedly to please provide me either with a link to these documents so that I can retrieve them digitally or have them mailed to me via paper copy, with the former being the preferable version. When I spoke to the original customer service representative on February 21st, 2022 she told me that I should be able to see them online via the Forms link on the Navient website but when we tried it kept looping me back to the login page. She said it shouldn't be a problem to have them mailed to me and she would process the request. I asked if I could just get them emailed because that was a lot of paper, and she said that wasn't possible because the documents are set to come to me the way my statements are sent to me. I asked if I could then change the way my statements came to me so I could just have them emailed. She said yes but then I'd have to resubmit my request so I asked to move forward with the current request as is. Then I got a letter from Navient telling me that I would need to narrow my request down to 24 months with a detailed reason as to why I needed the documents. They keep telling me they can't give me the documents with no legitimate reason and that I can look at my account history, which are just columns of numbers that aren't really showing me anything and don't look accurate. I've attached a pdf form of this account history and the last email sent to me by Navient.

This company (Navient), is or was my loan servicer #[protected]. Due to the pandemic, there are no payments due during a two year period, until 7/2022. I am a participant in the relief program, and was affected the pandemic. However, Navient reported me as late payments for Jan 2021, Feb 2021, Mar 2021 and Jan 2022. This is a nation program that was instituted by the government. However they charged interest during the pandemic or two-year time frame.
Navient is repeatedly harassing me via phone. In one day, they probably call me 5 to 6 times, sometimes back to back. And, honestly, I am being modest in the number of times that they call per day. I am in school (doctoral program) and I was told that I no longer qualified for in-school deferment which sounds deceptive in nature. But, if I were in an M.D., J.D. or DDS program, I could defer them. Tell me where does that make sense? My doctoral degree in Traumatology is just as rigorous and demanding as a J.D. degree. I have explained (or tried to) about my situation; they are almost impossible to work with. How can I pay you $1000 a month (as a public school UNDERPAID teacher) when I only bring home over $2000? Am I supposed to sacrifice gas (at $4.30 a gallon), mortgage, power, food, healthcare copays, etc. to pay back a loan that should be in deferment? And, they KEEP asking me about my father, Johnnie Burton who co-signed on the loan. How many times do I have to say DECEASED to them? It is completing triggering my PTSD which creates more psychological harm and anguish. And finally, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) PROHIBITS abusive debt collection practices, so why are they doing it? I am writing a dissertation; I am at work trying to TEACH---my phone keeps ringing and ringing and it's driving me crazy.
I have been receiving weekly phone calls from Navient loan services because of my student loan requesting payment. I have received emails that now I believe to be fraudulent that look exactly like the original Navient website. Only recently did I find out from a friend that Navient was purchased by another entity. Additionally, due to COVID student loan payments were put on hold. But I took the option of paying small amounts to at least cover the interest. However, I am under the suspicion that I erroneously paid some other entity. While the amount paid is less than $500, I would like a refund and this entity stopped so it can no longer due any damage to other citizens. My concern is now they have my social security number and my loan account number. If you go to Navient website you could very well see that this website is still up and going and accepting money.
I took out student loans in the total amount of $31,694 in 10
I took out student loans in the total amount of $31,694 in 10 . Navient was my loan servicer until 2022. I withdrew from the school I was in that semester. I contacted Navient and the representative told me I have a 6 month grace period before repayment and nothing was due or accruing. He said if I reenroll into another school within the 6 months, the grace period resets and I will not have anything due or accrued. I reenrolled in another school in 1. I called Navient to inform them. I confirmed that my grace period reset and I would not need to pay anything until 6 months after graduation. In 2018 I called Navient again on the recommendation of the financial office. I confirm the above again. After graduating in 5 I called Navient to confirm the previous 6 month grace period reset. Navient confirm the above again. In 11 I entered repayment. I called in 3 to confirm that my account was deferred in accordance with the federal mandate. Navient confirmed it was, and that I only owed the amount from 11 until 3 and that it was my original balance. Navient then offered me to go into an Income Based Payment because I was unemployed at the time. I contacted Navient to discuss repayment in 5/2022 and found out my account had been transferred to Aidvantage. I found out my total was now $38217. I reported what Navient told me to Aidvantage. Aidvantage responded that Navient technically told the truth because I did not have to pay while in school, but they failed to report the accruing interest each time. I requested help from Aidvantage, they pointed me to Navient who totally refused to discuss my account. Aidvantage then said my only option is to repay and they will not assist in looking into this and to take it up with Navient. I filed a complaint against Aidvantage too. I will include it and the complaint I submitted to studentaid.gov.

I got a student loan since 2005 and 2006 while in university through what was sallie mae, and is now navient and has since switched to a new company. I honestly, knew nothing about this company, what they stood for. I just know my adviser said yes you got some money sign here and there, and that one of the loans needs a cosigner. Who ended up being my sister. I was near graduating and needed desperately to finish. I am looking over my loans for the first time in the last few months just to see what has happened in the last 14 years. I was shocked when I saw that my loan has doubled for both loans. The loan in 2006 was for the mount of $3,900. That amount was disbursed on August 24 in the amount of today that loan amount is $6,573.16. I have been paying this loan back on August 28. The other loan's original amount was $10,000. Today that balance is $20,151.46. I begun paying on this lease on August 28 as well. I am just not sure how there is not a dent in my loan, instead it more than doubled. i am so confused and I would like some help with understanding how is is that my loan is showing double after 14 years of payments. And they did not give breaks. It didn't matter to them if i was unemployed. They would tell me the least we can do is put you on a program where you pay at least $180 dollars and would go done my list of income which didn't matter if i had an income or not they still wanted their money. And it was not easy while i was unemployed cleaning toilets to make sure they got paid. This company is horrible to it's borrowers. I literally despise that fact that I wasn't educated enough about loans and this company they would not have gotten my application through my then financial aid counsel. Please help. I have attached documents for your review. This is such a hinderance and an obstacle in my life. Thank you so much for your time and diligence in helping me with answers in this matter.

To whom it may concern: Thank you for taking the time to look over my complaint concerning Navient
To whom it may concern: Thank you for taking the time to look over my complaint concerning Navient. For years I have been a prisoner to Navient. When I decided to take out a private student loan with Navient (formally Sallie Mae), I intended to make enough money to repay my loan. Unfortunately, I was not able to pay due to my low income. I asked for forbearance and a deferment with Navient. Yes, I received both, but I was still not able to pay. Years later, I applied to a program from Navient called Rate Reduction Program with Extended Repayment. I thought the program would suit my needs due to my low pay. Unbeknownst to me, the payments go up every six months. For last six years, I've been making on-time payments because I was able to be in a position where I was making a little more money than before. I was still struggling a little bit because I also have a hefty federal student loan to pay for and other bills. Now, my payments with Navient are $483.91 and will go up again in January . I do not have a problem paying the bill, but I do have a problem with the payment going up every six months. I can NOT afford the payment going up because I have other bills to pay. What I am enduring is an unfair situation for me. I tried to get my loan refinanced with Navient; the application I applied to was denied. I tried talking to a manager, but I will get the same story: "the payment cannot be lowered". One day, I was disrespected by a representative stating: I should've thought about paying loans before I started school. Navient is practicing unfair treatment concerning their consumers. Every-time, I try to take a step forward, Navient is holding me back. I feel like Navient does not care about their customers and what they go through in life. I would love to have my bill lowered and at a fixed rate (not) variable. If someone can please help me with this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
Today I wish to share my experience with Navient
Today I wish to share my experience with Navient. I recently requested to have my cosigner released from my loans. Upon this request I was told that I would be unable to release my cosigner if I was making payments on my loans that were being repaid in a reduced payment or placed in an interest only payment program. Navient has made it impossible to make reasonable payments that align with my current finances and consistently have been rude and discriminatory to me when I contact them. I feel that private loans do not set up people who are not in a financial position to make these extremely high payments. I then requested documentation that showed the loans that my cosigner was on. It shows that my cosigner was linked to all of my loans and I do not have record of my cosigner being attached to all four of my loans. Because these loans were taken out over 10 years ago, I do not have the original documentation. I do question the validity of the documentation that is on file. Since everything is digital I feel as though my cosigner was fraudly attached to my additional loans and thus making it impossible for me to have her released as a cosigner. Navient is a company that is for profit and does not value people. It literally is my word against theirs and now 80,000+ in loans I find myself in a position where I am unable to get any assistance. I have tried to refinance, I have tried releasing her as a cosigner so I can then become eligible for income based repayment options. I am at a crossroads and I feel that Navient is trying to make it impossible to make any sound financial decisions, because they are unwilling to be honest and additionally they are not willing to assist customers with repayment options. I believe Navient fraudulently included my cosigner on all of my loans because she has a higher income. Because of this they feel that if they continue to keep her on my loans and attach her name to all of my loans then she will be able to pay the loans.

I recently refinanced my student loans with a company called Splash Financial
I recently refinanced my student loans with a company called Splash Financial. Per our agreement, Splash Financial sent payment in full directly to Navient for all three of my existing private student loans. A representative from Splash informed me that three checks would be issued - one for each of the loan accounts - to prevent any confusion. Splash also disclosed that I should continue all of my automatic payments to Navient until my accounts were officially closed, and that any overages would be sent to them once everything got finalized. On 6/4/22, Navient withdrew $518.20 from my personal checking account, per our auto-pay agreement. On 6/6/22, Navient received and processed the full payment from Splash Financial. Navient initially misapplied the funds and solely credited one of the three accounts, leaving two accounts with balances. Navient subsequently modified our auto-pay arrangement and notified me of the revised new monthly payment amount. I contacted Navient and informed them of their clerical error. A representative said they would reconfigure the existing overpayments on the one account and pay off the other two accounts. I had to contact Navient twice for this to be completed. The result was that there were now overpayments on all three accounts, totaling $10,399.32. I contacted Navient again and requested that they close down my accounts and send the overages back to Splash Financial. A representative informed me that they could only send the overpayments to me as the account holder and told me that they would issue that request. I have contacted Navient at least four times to try and have this matter resolved. Requests to talk to management have gone unreturned. A month has transpired and my accounts remain open. Neither I nor Splash Financial have received a check for any overpayments. My credit should reflect that my student loans were paid off. I do not understand why Navient is being like this. My account has been in good standing for years.

Changed my loans to a different amount without notice. Called to get them lowered to what I was already paying. They helped me lower payments, however the new lower amount was more then I had just been paying. They did not refund me back the difference or try to make that right. The next month my new payment came out on a different date and over drafted my account. Also no resolution. 10 days later I was also charged on my normal payment date for the old amount. Only had one person even attempt to help me. I was given the run around between them and my bank. My bank could not help me because I previously had business with Navient. Navient took over my original Sallie Mae loans. Both companies are just trying to take advantage of young college students to put them in debt for life.
Navient bought my student loan from Sallie Mae. I defaulted on my loan and consolidated with a fixed interest rate FELP program. I call in my payments and receive an automated update providing last payment, current due and next payment. I decided to check my account on site and noticed un-paid interest. I called Customer service and advised there was a forbearance in 2017. I stated the automated service never cited an unpaid balance furthermore the system will not allow you to pay on the phone if it's less than the monthly payment. Navient has Deceptive Practices and purposely try to mislead and gauge customers. It should be against the law to charge compounding interest for the life of the loan. Furthermore if the total balance is 10 times the original principal there is a problem.
Navient is the absolute worst company. I have had to file multiple dispute on my credit report due to them reporting late payments. I am not getting harassing calls at all hours of the day and night. Finally I spoke with someone and stated the President placed a hold on student loan repayments. The lady on the phone decided to tell me that my loan does not qualify for that...um what? Why was it covered previously and now all of a sudden it was not? They are money hungry. The customer service reps do not listen to you, just keep saying uh-huh, and then repeating the same information over again. My credit dropped due to them and now I am suffering because of this. STAY AWARE from them. I will not stop fighting them. I wish I could give them negative stars, because one is too generous.
I called Navient today to see about getting a refund on my payment I made on my loans after hearing about the President's plan to forgive student loan debt. I spoke with 3 different people who told me "since your account is paid in full and closed, we cannot issue a refund." So, I asked why? I was informed that they cannot "open a new loan" - which I was not asking them to do, and "they cannot do that because that will cause issues with the credit reporting on the loan"- PEOPLE REPORT CHANGES ALL THE TIME! They are refusing to help people and give them back their money. It really sounds to me like they do not want to deal with it. NAVIENT- IT IS YOUR JOB TO HELP PEOPLE. STOP BEING GREEDY AND RUDE!
